I was in desperate need of getting my nails done - being a new mom, it's hard to fit in much needed "me-time". I usually go to another salon down the street, but this time felt the need for something new. Why not? I had been meaning to give a true test to more of the nearby salons, since there are so many, and this was the perfect opportunity. I walked in and told them what I needed, and they were able to take me right away. I usually just go to get pedicures professionally done, but my fingernails also needed some TLC. Normally, I do my own manicures at home and had been since the pandemic - but decided to be brave and let someone else do it this time. They even helped me find the perfect shade to match my Pinterest inspo pick, a thoughtful touch. I can be picky about my nails, but they did an amazing job! My pedicure was also nicely done. I appreciated that it wasn't too busy inside the salon and I could watch tv while sitting. Overall, my experience was pleasant and I felt the prices were reasonable. Had an appointment at 3:00 got there at 2:58 sat down for about 3 minutes the lady asked me was I'm getting a pedicure pointed to the chair. I sat in a chair. She never said another word to me. Thought she was getting restarted on my feet. But Another young lady walks in. She starts on her feet. I sat there with my feet in lukewarm water for 37 minutes. No one never came to check on me. Horrible!!!! This is the 3rd time we had to wait over an hour to get into our appointment I made over the phone a week before with Judy. They kept letting walk-ins go ahead of us. Why make an appointment at all if anyone off the street will be allowed to go first?! I asked several times, how much longer and each time the unfriendly women would say 30 more minutes. They aren't friendly. In fact they don't talk to you at all until it's time to pay and then they're all smiles. Went there for 1st time. Booked online with Judy; put notes/question in the NOTE section. Total waste of time- they don't read them. Two different men started working on me, and asked what I wanted done. I asked if Judy was in since I booked with her and they walked away. When Judy started to work on me same thing-what did I want she was abrupt, walked away and started working on a walk in! Another man started to work on me. I stated I booked with Judy and another woman barked at me that Judy didn't do tips. I have natural long nails. I booked gel mani with one tip for a nail that had broken - all in the notes of my booking. No one read and no one communicated what was going on. I love coming here for my pedicures. I get the deluxe and it is worth the extra money. I love that they use new supplies for every customer and the salon is very clean. I usually go to the same woman and she's great she takes her time and the massage is the absolute best part. I always leave feeling so relaxed and my pedicure non gel never chips and looks good for two weeks. They can get busy so I recommend scheduling an appointment. read more

I have used Geist Nails regularly (every 3-4 weeks) since they opened. All of their employees are great, they have more colors then you could ever imagine, and take their time to do a great job so I never feel rushed. I have very thin, brittle nails but my powder dips regularly last at least 3 weeks. I've read a few negative comments complaining about the wait - luckily it is extremely convenient to make an appointment online and I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes after my appointment time so I feel my time is well respected. read more

I always hesitate to go to a nail salon that is not my usual for services because I have never been blown away enough to leave my current technician. Again, I was disappointed here. I scheduled an appointment to remove acrylic nails (as I had a broken one) with the intention of getting a simple gel manicure. When I checked in, one of the technicians came and asked me what I needed (annoyance #1 as I already explained what I needed over the phone). I explained again, and then she suggested something different to which I agreed doing. She went and told someone what I wanted to do, and that person proceeded to come back and tell me that they had no one available to work on acrylic nails (annoyance #2 as I didn't initially ask for any more acrylics. I already told them I just wanted a take off and gel mani). Once I explained that I didn't need anyone to do acrylics, they brought me back and got started. I don't remember the tech's name but she was decent with me and warmed up after some fun conversation with other customers. She also proceeded to complain about the strength of my nails (already knew that - didn't need the extra commentary). I really want to not have to drive so far anymore for the best service but alas - I'll just have to fit it into my schedule. This wasn't it. *shrug* read more

Geist Nails did an outstanding job today! After moving to this side of town I was looking for a salon close to home that would do dip powder manicures. I found Geist Nails & was able to make my appointment online, a major plus. When I got there they were packed (Memorial Day weekend), but I was still seated almost immediately. They have a huge selection of dip colors & everyone in the salon was welcoming. My appointment was with Heidi N. & she's an absolute rockstar. Her station (and the entire salon) was super clean, she was very friendly & gave me exactly what I wanted. She worked quickly & efficiently, but I never felt like she was rushing. I've been there a few times and have been satisfied with the nail work. However, after yesterday, will not be back. Went in to have the color replaced on dipped nail powder. The young guy doing my nails took a plastic fake nail and shoved it under the polished and pried the color off. I told him that really hurt and he ignored me and kept going. This is not the right way to remove polish and I'm sure it damaged my nail beds. Additionally he kept stopping to read and send texts on his phone under the table. I saw other technicians working and removing polish the right way. This guy needs to go. He's terrible. read more

I am sitting in the spa chair as I review. I watched a chair next to me go from one customer to another without any disinfect used. Granted, they use plastic to cover the basin but the area is grimy. The cleaner I see near the spa chairs is only a spray which wouldn't remove any dead skin and other debris like liquid cleaner and a scrub would do! The nail tech that helped me, Andy, barely spoke to me, answers the phone during my service, and checked other guests out at the register. I was told a 5 minute wait, but after Andy did other things I sat for at least 20 minutes, or until the water was cold. I'm contemplating only getting a pedicure and forgoing the manicure because I am ready to go at this point. The highlight of this visit was Werther's originals in a candy dish. Older lady did this avoid her chair. Used the high speed sander to remove old get polish ripping and tearing my cuticle. Barely soaked them with acetone. Most painful Pedi I've ever had and when the alcohol went on thought I'd fly out of the chair. read more

After a week my nails (4 of them!!) cracked and started chipping off around the edges. This isnt supposed to happen with dipped nails, and didnt happen the first time I had them done. Hello, I've been coming to Geist Nails since May, the facility is clean, the techs are professional, kind and respectful. I drive about 35 minutes to the shop, and I will not go anyplace else. Ann is the Tech I always book with, I've had a few others do my pedicures and each one have been very professional. My manicures with the dip powder last 3/4 weeks and I work in a food warehouse. I've never had any issues with my polish ever. I enjoy coming here because of the calming atmosphere. There is never any fussing, complaining or clients acting less than professional. The shop provides a service, Andy and Ann own the shop and you can tell by the way they treat their clients. The last time I visited was in December before Christmas and there was an older lady trying to pick out a color of polish and I'll guess she took around 20 minutes to decide, once they began applying the color it wasn't what she thought is was, the young lady stopped, helped her find the color she actually wanted and began again to paint her nails. The patience the tech showed the older lady was heart warming, so respectful. They earned my business from the day I walked in. They also did my daughters entire wedding party, and again the level of professionalism was remarkable, the bride was a bit nervous about color and matching. But, the techs were calm and respectful and had no issues with request for a more " nude" color. Again, if you want a professional nail salon Geist Nails should be your go to shop. On 9/18/19 I called to get an appointment for two pedicures around 6:00. I was first rudely told they didn't do appointments (which I know is false because I have made them in the past at Geist nails), just come in, they were "busy" at the time. So we do come anyways, we arrived at the salon at 6:16. We were NEVER greeted, just looked at when we walked in. I slowly took my time picking out a color while hoping to get greeted. My boyfriend was with me and and sat on the couch waiting. Again, still no acknowledgment after picking a color out. My boyfriend went to the restroom and then stood at the counter. Still nothing. We decided if they didn't acknowledge us in the the next 3 minutes then we would leave, so we left. We were there a total of 19 minutes and never once spoken to, never told they were too busy, absolutely nothing. I did hear one of the ladies talk about how the owners were gone and there was another dissatisfied customer earlier. Once we left, we did call and ask to speak to one of the owners not stating our concern. The lady who answered the phone stated they were out of town on vacation and would be back next week. I would like to say that this was no fault to the owners. They work hard and deserve time off to vacation. However, I am disappointed in the service, or lack of service we received. We weren't even acknowledged the entire time we were in the business and it was clear the employees couldn't have cared less. read more

My friends and I stopped by this salon last week for a last minute girls day. My friend and I both got gel manicures, we both have pretty strong nice natural nail beds. My second day after getting my nails done one of them had already peeled completely off. I have no idea how. By day 4 I had lost 3 and my friend had lost 2! Felt very rushed and unprofessional. Geist Nails is being extremely cautious with their customers- masks, staying in car and texting until ready, temp taken at the door then hand washing before choosing any colors. They also have large plexiglass barriers between you and the tech. They also are limiting the # of customers in the shop and social distancing. My trip to this salon was by far the worst experience I have ever had! The same goes for my sister. I was hopeful given the reviews, but disappointed. First, while glueing on my tips, the tech glued one to my fingertip and missed the nail. I asked her to fix it and she took too long inspecting it, almost as though she was going to leave it like that!? When applying the dip powder, the tech only did four layers. Two of the clear, and two coats color. On one of my nails I asked for a third dip of color and the tech tried to tell me I didn't need it, but did do a third dip on it. On my index finger I noticed a ridge where the nail tip was glued and it wasn't smooth with the rest of my nail. It was obvious I needed more dips. But I was told that it would be "fixed" with my next visit. I asked why it couldn't be fixed this time and was just given the same answer. I asked for my nails to be filed short. She wouldn't file them as short as I asked. I've never been to a salon that wouldn't file them short. Due to refusing to file them short, TWO of my nails broke and TWO cracked within two weeks of my nails being done. I think this was also because there weren't enough dip layers and my nails were too thin. In less than 48 hours after having her nails done, one of my sister's nails ripped off and ruined her fingernail! The nail was bleeding and about half of it was ripped past the nail bed, it was BAD! They offered to fix it, but with a ripped and bleeding nail, it's best to leave it be to heal, obviously!? I was really hopeful that this would be a good experience because I start my school program soon and can't have anything done with my nails, this was my last opportunity and it was awful. I will never go back to this salon and will advise my friends not to either. I feel like the thin layer in my nail and the refusing to file were almost a tactic to bring me in sooner for a repair/fill and that upsets me. Not the way to keep my business. The only reason I'm ok with one star is because they do have a good selection of dipping powder colors. But that doesn't do much good when the service is horrible. read more

Two weeks ago I came in for a gel manicure with an appointment. I waited about 5-10 minutes, then the technician came and got me. She seemed very stressed and complained that people were making appointments online without their knowing it and the owners would be gone for several weeks. I gently made a couple of suggestions as she was doing my nails, as to what I wanted. She seemed annoyed. Then towards the end to my surprise she started telling me she thought I should see someone else next time because she couldn't make me happy. She said all this in front of the customer next to me and her technician. To keep it light, I joked with her that it sounded like she was firing me. She said nothing. Then the technician next to her looked at me and said "we do anything you want, you're the customer!" I've been getting my nails done every couple weeks for almost 30 years and never had any technician behave like this with me. So a friend recommended this place to me back in May during COVID . I liked going because of their sanitation process and the quality of service I received My first few visits. Until I noticed that my pedicures were horrible my feet were hard the very next morning following my services. So I begin to buy products for my feet at home.
