Chicken fried steak was terrible. Tasted like a mound of salt. Most of it was breading and not very much meat. Service was great though

My family and I go here every Sunday. We love it. We have had almost everything they have on the menu and have not been disappointed. I will say however the tea is terrible and 3 dollars, What! That would be the only thing I would change, gotta have good tea in Texas! read more

Travis, the area manager, stopped by our table just to say hi and thank us for stopping by. My son had dumped a heap of jalepeno ketchup on his eggs, accidentally, right as Travis walked up. He offered new eggs, I declined saying I would just swap with my son. Not even 20 seconds later I had hot, fresh eggs arriving at my table. It's the little things that count. I've been to three of the Old West locations over the years but it has been about a year since I have been to any. Tried the new location in Denton last weekend. Still the best place for breakfast in my opinion. Good food and good service. Only issue is my eggs were not hot. It was like my breakfast was cooked and it sat on a counter waiting too long to be brought to the table. Room temp eggs aren't good. Went for breakfast with husband and was pleasntly surprised. We thought we arrived "late" for breakfast at about 9:00 a.m. and we were seated right away. When we left at about 10:30 it was swamped and there were people waiting inside and outside. The portions were LARGE. The temperature of the food was good. We were in Denton for a wedding and found this place. My wife is a big fan of cafe/diners and this place did not disappoint. Wait staff were extremely friendly and the food was so good, we went back the following morning before heading out of town. Be ready for a wait though, it's a popular spot, but for good reason. read more

Huge portions. Nice atmosphere and service. Chicken fried steak can be cut with a fork and I normally have enough left overs for two more meals. Some of the staff will push and PUSH their flavored coffees/lattes on you, but the food makes up for it. read more

I used to be a regular customer when they had their location on Dallas Dr. since they have moved to this location, the customer service has went down hill. My husband ordered the Texan omelette and it clearly says "pick one meat". He picked chicken. When it was time to pay they charged us $9.99 for the meal and $3.99 extra for chicken. I asked what the up charge was for the lady said "the chicken is expensive so it's extra" um WHAT??? Then I said if that was the case my husband would have picked a different omelette that included chicken that cost $10.99. They were charging extra for chicken but what about the meat the omelette is supposed to come with? Do we get a discount out of the $9.99 since he didn't pick a meat other then chicken? Anyways what upset me is that I'm assuming the lady I spoke with is the manager and being the manager her customer service skills was horrendous. What can you expect from her employees? She ended the convo with "I will take out the $3.99 up charge this time but next time we will not"... Um... honey there won't be a next time! One of our favorite places. Usually a 15-20 min wait on the weekends but its worth waiting. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. The menu is extensive and it is all great!
