The customer service here is JUST AS GOOD AS THE COFFEE !! My husband got a pour over coffee from Guatemala and absolutely loved it! He said he can taste the sweet notes. I got the Fisher coffee with oat milk and I absolutely love that it is light and settle. The easy sweetened receipt they use makes the drink fresh with a hint of cinnamon!!! Just perfect! Lastly, GET THE BANANA BREAD! It's so moist The vibes in the coffee shop were great! A lot of open seating to study. The employees were just so friendly and made us feel so welcomed! We love hitting this spot when we're in Denton! It's right off their main square, so convenient and centrally located. It's definitely a young, hipster vibe and lots of college students studying. I ordered a single espresso and they gave me some sparkling water with it. The espresso was deliciously smooth and definitely hit the spot after a day of exploring Denton. There is plenty of seating whether you're planning on camping out to study or, like us, are stopping for a quick coffee. We sat at the little bar area, which was perfect. Walking around the square, the coffee bar was the first place I discovered open. As it was the day after Christmas, the premises were not too crowded. On this morning, quite a few two-tops were available. Fortunately, there was no need to sit by the bar as those stools had no backs. I ordered the Classic Breakfast. The buttermilk pancakes, of which I barely finished half, were very delicious. The sausage patties were equally delightful. The same could not be said of the syrup which congealed as it poured. Although the fried eggs had a pleasant taste, I failed to be more precise on how they were to be cooked as the yolk was liquified. When I ordered the Holiday Brew drip coffee, I wished the cashier had suggested the Bottomless Drip. As I usually drink more than a single cup, I could have saved some money. Regardless, the coffee had a very pleasant taste. When gratuity was requested, it would have been very beneficial to know for what I was tipping? When I ordered off the breakfast menu, the price was not for the raw ingredients but the cost of it being made. The same with ordering drip coffee. When I saw the silverware by the cream and coffee sweetener, I expected to grab my own utensils. As it was my initial visit, the sign to bus my own table was totally unexpected. Amazing space and actually great coffee! Service: The person checking us out was very soft-spoken and I can't hear too well... I tried to avoid asking them to speak up but instead ended up asking them to repeat themselves several times. Other than that the service was amazing ! We sat at the bar too and the staff was very nice when we asked for some more ice a few times. Food/drinks We had an iced americano which was really good and not watered down like at some other places. The coffee cake was very flavorful and their breakfast sandwich was hot & fresh. (Also they let us sub bacon for sausage on the sandwich which was amazing !) We also got an iced strawberry matcha which was refreshing but a bit too sweet for me. Really nice and spacious coffee shop in downtown Denton. Indoor and outdoor seating, I love their options for coffee, teas and other drinks, and I'm all for the small food menu. The staff is very friendly and I loved their options personality of one of the female baristas. She was so helpful in choosing food items and she definitely understood my "whisper" as she said of milk added to my espresso. I ordered the vegan pumpkin loaf (it's seasonal) which was amazing! The breakfast toast which had a great kick and the spicy sausage roll. The roll was probably my least favorite but it had great flavor, I'm just picky on the bread texture. Everything seems to be made fresh. Beans are good, not burnt. Very mellow place with good coffee, tasty foods and nice staff. read more

Sunday morning at 8:30 was a pretty full house. Ordered breakfast tacos. Two small flour tortillas with good portion of melted cheese topped with scrambled eggs and crumbled bacon. Food came out hot and quite tasty. Only gripe was the "hot sauce" was Buffalo sauce. A tortilla meal in Texas requires salsa or Tex-Mex hot sauce. Not wing sauce. My wife ordered the avocado toast topped with bacon and fried egg. Hers was tasty too but was guacamole, not avocado. Which she liked but should be indicated on the menu. read more

VIBES Although my friends and I only grabbed the coffee to-go, while waiting there we got a gauge of the atmosphere. Lots of people working a studying and a bit noisy but not bad. Avocado toast as just okay. I never understood restaurants that take a beautiful vegetable and mash/beat/pulverize it until it's got no texture. It's d asked when I ordered if I could have the avocado chunky and was told "no because the spices are mixed in". ..... so they seriously can't just sprinkle the spices on top of the chunks of avocado? Just does not disappoint! Customer service always friendly and efficient. Was in a rush and could not stay. I enjoy staying when I have the opportunity. On beautiful days the outdoor patio is a great place to chill and on cold and very hot days indoors is welcoming. Usually able to study or have a conversation. The seasonal Yam Spice Muffin and Latte OUTSTANDING! I prefer sweet potato over pumpkin and boy my tastebuds are dancing! The drinks are excellent; the atmosphere is wonderful; the baristas are personable and great. However, the manager (I lbelieve his name is Connor) is perhaps the rudest person I've ever encountered. I've watched him both speak to customers and staff with such distain and meanness. Makes for really uncomfortable situations, especially if you're sitting at the bar. read more

West Oak has been my favorite coffee shop in Denton for years -- great atmosphere, great coffee, great staff, and a regular part of my weekly routine. Unfortunately, they've made the baffling decision to operate without air conditioning. It's now so hot inside that it's completely unbearable to sit and enjoy a drink, and with the Texas summer in full swing, even standing in line feels like punishment. I'm genuinely disappointed to lose my go-to spot, but there's no other choice than to switch over to Jupiter House until the weather breaks. Hopefully by September or October it'll be cool enough to return. read more

Stopped by West Oak Coffee Bar for a early morning coffee. This coffee shop is located in the Denton square and parking can be a little challenging. I'd recommend parallel parking on one of the side streets around the square. When you enter, there is plenty of seating in this coffee shop but it can get a bit crowded. Also they roast Voltage espresso beans which are very acidic (which I love). I ordered a vanilla latte, the latte art was on point, and the coffee was just so so good! I can't wait to go back here again in the future. read more

Wow! What an impressive place. I came in at 7:30 am with a big order of food and drinks for a work trip, and their team of three handled it with aplomb AND made a series of exceptional things. Their avocado toast was a delight. My colleagues universally appreciated their coffee. I was especially impressed by the blueberry syrup (house-made) that was in my hot latte. The vibes are cute inside, and it'd be good for working.
