HORRIBLE. We walked in at 7:45 AM and the zombie like hostess was there but instead of greeting us she said "two". Not as a question but as a statement. Then she took us to the dining room and waved her hand at a couple of tables and walked away. We guessed at the table ahe wanted us to sit at. Then we wait, wait, wait, and wait. Ignored by all the entire wait staff. The place had more servers than customers. Finally we had to wave down a buss person and she went to find a server. At this point (about 15 minutes) we still have no menu, no water, no coffee. When the server comes over she tried to shame us by pointing in the direction of a QR code and said irritatedly "use that thing". This is where we got up and walked out. We went to The Sidewalk Cafe and was served quickly and politely. Goodbye to Old West, we are breaking up. And it's my anniversary, too! Boo on you. read more

Worth the wait. Their text method is efficient. They take your order at the table with an iPad, so they're not running orders into the kitchen, which is one reason why the service is good, even when they're busy. The coffee is surprisingly good. Turns out they are investors in the proprietary coffee. The portions are enormous. The food is fantastic. The variety of choices of sides which come with your meal is large. I strongly suggest their fruit and yogurt parfait as a side. Try the Gambler Omelette. Fried chicken, avocado and bacon and cheese in an omelette. It sounds weird, but it is inspired. Breakfast is great however, they have no avocado. I know many people would not expect avocado however, they have many Mexican breakfast type options and when I have those I want avocado to go with it. This new restaurant is a lot larger and better than the older one. We came around noon on Monday and there was like a 3 minute wait. The waiters are friendly and attentive. I got the peacemaker, but they should call it the pacemaker because this will probably give you a myocardial infarction. The sausage gravy is incredible, but the hash browns portion seems to have diminished. My boyfriend got the wrangler, which is a classic. The pancake is the size of a tire, but eat it first while it's hot (cakes). You have to walk to the front to turn in your receipt which is kind of hard to get up after eating your weight in breakfast food. Overall great improvement on the restaurant as a whole. I went with co-workers today and had a great experience. There were six of us, so I was worried at noon it would be hard to table for that many, but they got us in quickly on a packed day. Next, I fell in love with the breakfast focused menu. There were so many options. I finally got biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs hashbrowns topped with jalepenos...so delicious. Eaten here for years when it was located down town the food was to die for and the wait was worth every minute!!!! However, since moving to the the larger building off of 35 (formerly Black Eyed Pea) the food hasn't been the same. It isn't terrible. I'd say it's still good, just some corners have been cut and the quality has changed. When the family suggests eating at Oldwest Cafe I found myself preferring other breakfast spots and wishing for the good ol' days when Oldwest Cafe was small and and lines were long. read more

Always find time for breakfast at this institution which finds a new home on the interstate in a bigger building. And now with a new menu. But the food is still alluring. The yolk free omelette makes up for the flavor with turkey bacon, turkey sausage and generous portions of cheese. I don't feel nearly deprived.
