I was hungry for deep dish, so I drove here. Dark cozy wood, family friendly atmosphere. Had a nice pizza. Honestly it wasn't perfect; it was a little overcooked on the bottom, but it's the best deep dish nearby that I know and I'm sure I will go back to try more items on the menu. read more

I had heard great things about this restaurant, but sadly our visit fell flat. Our table ordered a few pizzas, salads, and kids meals. It took almost an hour for our food to come out and when kindly asking our server for an update she was not so kind. The food was okay, nothing to get excited about and nothing that would take as long as it did. I get everyone has their off nights, but sadly the pizza was not worth the experience there read more

Service fantastic waitress so kind and patient. Ambiance: it is all new inside since we were there years ago. So cozy and comfortable. Food: my father in law had the penne pasta with Alfredo and broccoli. Excellent My husband had a calzone with pepperoni, sausage, green peppers. Excellent. I had a pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, sausage. Excellent but not a fan of the sausage. Salads: so fresh and good. This was the best blue cheese dressing I ever had. Four of us ate lunch at Olde Town today, 9/4/2024 We started with the Garlic Bread with Cheese. it was excellent! My wife and I enjoyed the Hawaiian Specialty regular crust and to our surprise our friends ordered the same only on a thin crust. We all thought the pizzas were top notch! It has been a while since we've been here and the only sad part, I missed the salad bar. Food is great, service was good, the ambiance is even better since my last visit, and it has been a few years. Would I recommend to family and others? You betcha! Visit Old Towne and enjoy some great food! read more

Delicious Pizza with a small town feel! First things first, the service here is amazing. Any server who walked by checked on us. The owner came out and was chatting with us and with every other table--in a genuine caring way, not the corporate "well how is everything folks" way haha. He even boxed up our leftovers at our table. The pizza we had was amazing! We get the heart shaped pizza every year for our family Valentines celebration and it never disappoints. Generous cheese and the the crust is high on the edges because of the hand made steel form they use to make the shape. The owner mentioned they have the heart shaped pizza all year which is good to know for special occasions! We also enjoyed the family salad and house dressing. We will be back soon! read more

Had some family in from Minnesota this week and decided Olde Town Pizza fit the bill to feed the group. Ordered a sheet pizza and the big salad and we were not disappointed. The pizza was great and the salad could not have been fresher. Everyone was so complimentary. The salad was so big, we had enough for dinner the next meal. This is one of the very BEST family owned business. The food is always SO FRESH and TASTY!! I have no clue why the salad taste fresher, crisper than any other restaurant that I have ever been to. I can visit and just have the salad bar and it's so good I feel like I'm cheating. The one thing I can say that I did miss the ham pieces they used to have as part of the salad bar. They call their sandwiches "sangwich" on purpose. It's because it's special not just a bread, I haven't had it in awhile so ask them. They are known for their great pizza and "Woogie Bear". It's lIke a calzone done a'la Olde Town McCarty way! I've been visiting this place for over 21 years. We take suppliers from out of town. They always say "I want to go to that quaint pizza shop for a "Woogie Bear"! Oh and you can stuff them with different ingredients. My husband had a meatball mozzarella stuffed one. He loved it! Even more special are that the owners, their children and employees are all so professional, humble and truly care about their customers. Today Daryl (owner) came right up to me to say hello and walk over to my husband to say hi. The wife (owner) is so kind and both are very dedicated hard workers. They went through construction years ago to make their space bigger and more comfortable. The decorations and color scheme are very nice. I think they're close to 30 years of business or more. The building outside is very cute. They had life size cutouts of McCarty husband and wife sitting on the roof. I didn't look to see if it's still there. Not sure about all the good reviews, my guess is old timers or locals who don't have experience with much else or are being supportive of their neighborhood pizza place. The beard bro on the floor was rude, and great at ignoring paying customers needs. The pizza here was the smallest "large" pizza I've seen in my life. It was a pile of cheese on top of flavorless sauce and meh crust. Definitely not good pizza. It's a bad sign when you try to pick up a slice and all the cheese falls off, anchored into the giant glob in the middle, not melted into the crust. Cheese was barely melted fully, not much color. It's been awhile since I've eaten here. Use to work in Amherst. I am pleased to say the food is as good as I remember. The pizza, calzone, and woogie dough is the best around. This is our favorite place to get pizza. We go here almost every Friday night. It is family owned and when you're here you are treated like family! On our quest for the best eat in pizza shops in Ohio, we found Old Town Pizza House in Amherst to be very very good. Our waiter was Max and he did a fantastic job of going over the menu with us and pointed out some of the more popular items. We had a salad where you get to choose your toppings which is great as this minimizes food waste. The salad was great. We ordered traditional crust large pepperoni and an italian sausage woogie bear. The pizza was cooked well done as requested and had a good crunch and chew. The pepperoni was fresh and the sauce had a hint of sweet and spicy. The sauce sat well with both of us - no heartburn.. The pizza serving pans were dimpled which is critical in keeping crust from getting soggy. The woogie bear was fantastic. Chris loved the italian sausage and felt it stole the show. The marinara dipping sauce was excellent. Max was our main contact and he was fantastic, but the hostess, and other staff wirk together as a team to make the experience and service top notch. We will be back soon to sample the thin crust and foldovers. If you havent tried it yet, go try it yourself. They have made our top 5 shops for perfect execution and great food. A small but great place in the heart of Amherst. I ordered the salad and soup bar. With a order of garlic bread with cheese. The ingredients in the salad bar were fresh and tasty. Being relatively new to the area, my wife and I have been seeking input from locals regarding restaurant recommendations for various ropes of food. We both love pizza, so we are eager to find a go-to pizza place. A few people had recommended Olde Town for their pizza and we finally had an opportunity to give it a try. The parking is limited, but there is a lot across the street. The restaurant is pretty small and loud. Table are sandwiched in and the booths are extremely cramped. Service was excellent (friendly and attentive)! In addition, the manger is constantly roaming around making sure everything is good. We went with friends who recommended the salad bar, which can be ordered with a meal for about $4-5. My wife and I ordered a large thin crust pizza with sausage, green peppers and onions to share. The salad bar is small, but ample. Everything was fresh. The pizza was another story. Admittedly, we are pretty fussy about our pizza. However, I would venture to say at anyone that enjoys thin crust, NY style pizza would be disappointed. The crust is far from thin, there was little to no sauce and the entire pizza was covered with a very thick, gooey mozzarella cheese that dominated the the flavor of the pizza. To be honest, we have had frozen pizza purchased at the grocery store that was better. We were very disappointed as we were hopeful. The sandwiches we noticed delivered to other patrons looked good. If we were to return, which is doubtful, we would try that. If I were to rate the restaurant solely on our experience with the pizza, the rating would be a notch or to two lower. read more

We moved here 2 years ago, and finally got around to eating here after having friends and neighbors rave about it. For the life of me, I can't understand what all the fuss is about. My husband got the salad bar, which seemed nice and fresh and he enjoyed it. We decided to get a large, thin crust pizza with sausage, onions, and green peppers. It was hot when it arrived, but the crust didn't seem cooked enough. There was very little sauce, but loads of cheese. Lots of toppings, but the rest of the pizza wasn't any good so the toppings couldn't save it. Super disappointed in the pizza. Only good thing was service, which was excellent. read more

My husband and I along with our twin newborns decided to give this place a try on a Friday evening. We were so glad that we did! The servers were very attentive and friendly. The owner came over and greeted us and gave us menu recommendations since this was our first time. We had the salad bar which was so delicious and fresh, then we had the garlic bread with cheese (amazing!) and finally the Chicago style pizza. Prices have gotten crazy at Old Town & the quality is slipping. I don't necessarily mind paying more for my pizza since prices are going up on everything, but if you're going to charge me more, at least give me the same amount I was getting last year before the increases. Wow! Everything about this restaurant is 5 stars! We had heard really good things about this family restaurant from friends and liked the history of the family business on their website so we thought we'd give it a try. After just one visit, it immediately became our favorite Italian restaurant! Service was so personable and friendly. After they learned this was our first visit, despite being super busy, the owners came to our table to introduce themselves and welcome us to the restaurant. The food is delicious! Everything is made fresh, from scratch. We started with the soup of the day and breadsticks. It was so flavorful and fresh, I would go back just for those menu items again! We each ordered a mini pizza (personal size). The portion sizes are very generous and each pizza was loaded with toppings. Prices are very inexpensive, portion sizes are very generous, service is very friendly and the taste, quality and freshness of the food is having us come back for another visit. Even our finicky Thai grandmother who only wants to eat Thai food, said she was so happy we stopped here instead of getting Thai food for dinner. She even said she wants take us all out to dinner at Old Town Pizza House when she comes to visit us again. read more

Went to buy a gift card at the carry out. Waited five minutes, nobody came. Went in the dining room (no customers in there). Workers in the back, some looked off the clock, they saw me but didn't acknowledge me. They didn't tell anyone working that I was there. I left, will get a gift card elsewhere. First, they do a fantastic job with gluten free options, and the chef's specials are phenomenal, also often with a GF capability. They have an artisan pizza crust,; tortellini; penne; and a Parmesan cream sauce -- all GF! The pizza crust is really terrific - much more like a "real" crust (which, their regular pizza is something I miss!) and they provide you with topping options that go from routine to delectably less common. I highly recommend their specials -- the chef is super talented; I love the steak tips; chicken Marsala; and fennel sausage (when they have it). Gluten not an issue -- try everything!! The Caesar salad is quite good, and the house Italian dressing a tradition. Their staff is friendly (shout out to Christina and Kate, and my beautiful friend Angie) the bar staff (the awesome Staci and Diann) who are consistently rated best in the area; and upbeat manager Hailey is a delightful presence. Here's why I diced the stars - there was a table near us, who was the only other table I could see our server waiting on. They folks were treated like KINGS - I saw her bring them bread, with oil Twice, they had their glasses refilled, the server kept checking on them and I overheard them talking about their desserts being "comped" Meanwhile, I had to walk to the bar to get a water refill, and when I asked about bread the server said "so sorry, the kitchen is really backed up" (amazing that it wasn't so backed up to get the other table bread twice, and every table in our room had bread, and the kitchen was able to get our food out, but couldn't get us a couple slices of bread over the hour were were sitting there!!!!
