We found an Italian place that had good reviews to have dinner nearby the car dealership we had just got my daughters new car, and I was a little concerned when we walked in as a woman was completely ignoring us when we came in and stood at the counter. After a couple of minutes she asked if we were helped and we said no. She said to give her a moment and the someone kindly seated us. We did note the sign when standing at the counter with them asking for patience since they were a small staff and occasionally short handed, but a greeting when the woman walked up would've been nice. From there everything was great. The food was okay with basic salads, and everything from our entrees came out hot. The prices are also very reasonable. The food was really good. My wife and two daughters enjoyed everything. I had the chicken Marsala and it was delicious (pricey but delicious). My wife had the chicken parm and she said it was good but needed a little more seasoning. My girls had the spaghetti with sausage and buttered noodles. Their home made dressings were delicious. I would say this is decent Italian but not somewhere I would run to if I wanted exceptional food- pizza is NY style. Big, thin crust. The garlic white sauce or garlic oil with tomatoes and mozzarella is delicious. The dining room is just ok. No ambiance! I have been here multiple times and have had multiple different items from the menu. To start,the apps are all great. The wedding soup tastes fresh out of my noona's kitchen. Salad and bread are always fresh. My personal favorite is Chicken Marsala. I have had Marsala in multiple local and Cleveland based restaurants. No one and let me reiterate no one makes a better Marsala than Lenoci's. And trust me I am picky. My second choice is always Chicken Alfredo. The alfredo sauce is chef's kiss . The chicken for both marsala and alfredo is tender,flavorful and a good size portion. Salad is fresh and home made dressings are great.Pizza is wonderful. And don't pass up dessert,especially tiramisu,it is the best. Service has always been spot on. And prices are comparable to any top of the line Italian restaurant. I grew up in Lorain and visit home often. I had been to this location years ago when it was called something else. I recently decided to take my father here for dinner one evening. I prefer to give small businesses a shot over chains. In this case, I probably would have rather chosen a chain. The place is pretty small but the evening we went there was no wait and we were seated immediately. We both ordered the spaghetti with italian sausage. It came with soup or salad. I got the italian wedding soup while my dad got a salad. He had requested croutons but they don't have croutons. Odd for an italian place. The soup was ok, albeit a very small portion. The salad was fresh but there wasn't much to it. The spaghetti was good with a generous amount of sauce (almost too much) and two nice pieces of sausage. I didn't feel like the service was all that friendly. No smiles or anything like that, just simply what do you want and here's your food. Which I guess is all that it technically expected. I felt like it was slightly overpriced for what it was. If you got a half portion it's 2 dollars off. What? that didn't make any sense. So of course we ordered full portions. My dad had enough to take home so that made it slightly better for him. I usually don't finish meals and I finished mine so it was not a huge portion anyways. My dad is military and elderly and asked if they had a discount for either and they don't. Which is fine, but would be nice if they did, even if it's only certain days of the week. It's close to home for him, so I imagine he would go back. If he wanted to go, so would I. However, it wouldn't be one of my top places to dine at. read more

We stopped here on our overnight trip to Cedar Point. We arrived after dinner time so the restaurant was almost empty. We all ordered salads to start with and they were good. I shared my favorite Italian dish, Chicken Marsala with my daughter. It was full of mushrooms and delicious. My son in law and son shared a pepperoni pizza. Lenoci's is great little Italian restaurant in Lorain. If you go around dinner time you will probably have a little wait as the seating area is limited. They do have a waiting area with bench type seating while you wait on a table. They are closed Sunday and Monday The menu has many different options from traditional Italian pasta to pizza and subs, they have a kids section as well. They offer take-out as well. The food here was awful, sauce tasted like it was warmed from a jar or can. Pasta was dry and cold in the center of the dish, and price is ridiculous for the quality. The server brought me the wrong dish and told me that I ordered something I didn't. She did take our food off the bill so there is that but what I did eat made me sick. A small simplistic Italian restaurant. When you enter you enter through the takeout area to get to the dining room. There were about 20 people in dining room which was about half full. Greeted at door by a very pleasant waitress/hostess who sat us right away with menus. Our waitress came to the table and took our drink order. It took a while to get the drinks. While waiting there was a sign posted to please excuse our slow service as we are a small family restaurant and are under staffed. That explains the only negative about this restaurant, slow service, not ridiculous slow just don't be in a hurry to dine here. Food was excellent, I highly suggest the garlic bread but the table bread is also good and a lot of it. I had bolognese and angel hair which was excellent. Boyfriend said his lasagna didn't taste homemade, it was like Stouffer's frozen lasagna. His side salad was missing from the order. Fifteen friends went for dinner tonite. The place was clean but no real atmosphere. The service was good and we had no problems with our order or service. All the food was hot and came in a very reasonable timeframe. My friend sitting next to me ordered penne with marinara sauce. She picked up two pieces with her fork and pulled out a 3" hair from what was on her fork. She placed it on her napkin and showed it to the waitress. The waitress apologized and asked if she wanted another dinner and she declined...her appetite was gone. When the checks came she was presented with an $8 charge. The waitress said it was for the side salad that came with the meal (consisting of some lettuce, 1 tomato slice and 2 rings of purple onion). My friend asked to speak to the manager who came over right away. When asked about the check, the manager's response was to say "well, we looked at that hair and it doesn't belong to anyone who works here". We were stunned by her response and by what she was suggesting. She tore up the bill and said "ok forget this charge, but don't come back here again". Customer service...nope. Not only will these 15 people never return but we will tell this story far and wide to family and friends who all live in the area. read more

Employees look like they're under the influence of an illicit substance. Not a clue as to how to treat customers; forgetful or they simply do not actively listen to what is requested while high. It's small and intimate, my husband and I ordered Calamari (small portioned, rubber taste) not to mention 10 dollars *see pic*, salads which were fine. Hubby had lasagna (said the cheese was chewy, but ok) I had the Chicken Alfredo (bland sauce, cut chicken on top of the pasta but not cut all the way through). Don't do it. If zero stars was an option, that's what they'd get. Service was terrible but I could have forgiven that. What I can't forgive is that we decided to eat in. Worst mistake ever. We waited for 2 hours for our meals. In that 2 hours we witnessed more than a dozen carry out orders go out. There is no prioritization. But a friend told me that the food was amazing, so I decided to try it out for my daughters birthday since she loves spaghetti. Then*****CRICKETS********for 50 minutes. I have 3 kids under 9 who were angels...but were starting to melt down with no bread and our bottle of wine was never delivered. We tried several times to flag down our server and she seemed to serve everyone around us. Our food finally came...I cancelled our bottle of wine since I wouldn't have time to drink it. Our server apologized for forgetting. I ordered the mushroom ravioli with Alfredo...the sauce was really NOT good. It tasted like a stick of butter. I left with a stomach ache. My kids liked the spaghetti, and I liked the red sauce. My husband ordered Stromboli and it was good. The bread was nothing great. We were quickly brought our check. And raced out before our kids lost their minds. The servers stayed very polite and it was clear that they were working hard. They need a busser and prob some major help in the kitchen. I prob deserved a comped meal... Management needs to help run the place a little better. We may try takeout in the future...but it's not on my list for the near future. read more

And the food​ is nothing less than excellent!! The potato soup was thick and delicious, the salad was fresh and had a great variety of veggies, and the house Italian dressing was perfect! Their pizza tasted like a dumpster fire. Ordered extra cheese and didn't get extra cheese. Called the store and they were rude about it. They basically told me to just buy a store bought pizza next time. I never leave 1 star reviews but this kind of service is absurd. I wouldn't have even left a bad review had they managed the situation like a "manager" should. I know things can't always be perfect but when people aren't willing to own their mistakes and at least attempt to provide a better experience in the future then that is when they get 1 star reviews from me. The food is consistently good whether we dine in or carry out. This is one of those local gems, food-wise. I've been to many Italian restaurants throughout the country and this is up there as far as food quality. That being said, I do have 2 complaints. 1. They don't open until 2pm, so during the week this just isn't a lunch option. The hours (at this time) are listed on yelp incorrectly and I have notified yelp. Check their website for correct hours. 2. Service - rarely service with a smile. This is a little hidden gem. Not much on the outside. The inside is pretty small and simple. The food is out of this world. I had cheese ravioli with Bolognese. There were 6 good sized ravioli done perfectly. The sauce was thick with more than enough meat. It was perfectly seasoned and slightly sweet. My husband had linguini with white clam sauce. Lots of clams and beautifully seasoned. Linguini was al dente and the serving size was more than adequate. I was very impressed with the house Italian bread served with the meals. My first visit here was great! I came as part of a large group and ordered a half-order of spaghetti with blush sauce and OMG is was so tasty and the portion size was just right. I also had a caprese salad, which had a lovely balsamic reduction and large pieces of mozzarella. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the interior, it's quite outdated and the chairs are not comfortable. Since our visit, we've ordered the takeout New York style pizza and it's delicious, so close to real NY pizza, even our picky kids love it! read more
