Let me just start by saying this place was FIRE! The lamb burger was fresh as can be and extremely flavorful. Sometimes being in Flushing and not speaking Chinese of any kind is an adventure in itself. Fortunately, in Flushing, that can lead to some amazing food. The spicy cold noodles were equally amazing. This has now become a new must stop when we are in Flushing. ENJOY!!!
I was looking to grab something to eat and had wanted to try this place since I saw people waiting outside the door once. It's small and narrow inside, but has a few seatings and also a bathroom. It was crowded inside during lunch time, but was much better after prime eating time. I got the lean pork roujiamo. It was delicious. Very good flavor. The bun was flaky and crispy, like a savory pastry. Only $6.50. I added a little bit of hot oil to it to give it a kick. For drinks, they have fresh soy milk, hot and cold. I got the hot one. It was yummy. Only $3. Total was $9.50. No extra tax. They take credit card, but it has to be over $10. I'll have to try the liang pi next time. They speak some English. They respond to me in Mandarin. You can point on the menu too, just be patient because there's a wait for the food also. Other customers will start asking if their food is ready and you have move around so they can get through. All in all, good price for good food.
Hidden gem tucked away as a narrow shop that's constantly bustling. There's a small row of seating with quick turnover as folks quickly eat their food and go. I got their lamb "burger" which was so saucy, packed with meat with a nice flakey exterior. Can't wait to come back and try their noodles!
Old Luo Yang's own storefront location on 39th Ave. here may be soon its only location once its stall at Landmark Quest Mall at 136-21 Roosevelt Ave. shutters, that is if I understood the woman behind the counter properly. (Every time I spoke to the people there, their English was limited, but they do know how to take an order.) Note - The English copy more prominent than "Old Luo Yang" on the street front signage are "Collection of Old Luo Yang Liang Pi" and "Lao Tong Guan Chinese Hamburger." Their modern, yet small and narrow with limited seating, fresh Chinese Hamburger and Noodle spot here opened in 2023. (This visit, the woman taking my order seemed to indicate their mall stall will close end of August, but it may be a miscommunication.") My favorite item so far is the winner Cumin Lamb Bun for $7.50, with flaky filo dough style buns, juicy lamb, spicy to whatever level you request, onions, etc. My first time there I ordered the regular Chinese Hamburger for $6 and regular Cold Noodles. The Chinese Hamburger was quite good, but felt that Lamb Bun was one of the juiciest I've had to date and definitely remains my reco. As far as the Cold Noodles, whatever the non-vegetable component that came with the noodles had an unusual texture that was not to my liking,,, but you may feel differently. Next time, I plan on trying the Black Pepper Beef as either a noodle dish or burger. From what I could tell, it may be equally as enticing as Old Luo Yang's Cumin Lamb. It may be better to eat the noodle dishes there, since they tended to stick together as a mass when taken to go. Basically just off the corner with Flushing's Main St., Old Luo Yang is definitely worth checking out!
A small, cozy place serving dishes packed with flavor! The cumin lamb in the bun was absolutely delicious and not too salty with the perfect amount of cumin. The cold noodles have a great peanut taste and can come spicy or not spicy but be warned -- the spicy sauce in the containers at the table are VERY spicy so be sure to moderate. Service was quick and friendly and prices are affordable. Would return!
standard liang pi spot thats pretty busy so it might take a while to get your order. the cold noodles were solid but not super memorable. also got the roujiamo which was decent. they have a nice bathroom.
The menu mostly has cold stir fried noodles which I'm sure are good. We were in the mood for some soup as it was cold out. I got the beef noodle soup which had hand pulled noodles and verrryyy soft glass noodles. The pork wontons were really yummy and plump. The premium meat burger reminded me of a Chinese chicken pot pie. Usually the lamb or beef meat burgers are too cumin-y for me but this one was very good!! There is limited bar seating. The service is good and quick. English-friendly!

The service took a bit longer than expected but the flavor paid for that wait. The store is small. Fortunately, I went when it was empty so I ate there, but I believe it could get busy.
This is a repeat restaurant for me - the only thing is there is not too much sit down space, however turn over is relatively fast. There is also a restroom available, which is a plus. Rou Jia Mou - chinese-style hamburger, flakey bun similar to a shao bing texture. I have had the cumin lamb version, which is really good! Hu La Tang - black pepper soup, very solid. Pairs perfect with some additional black vinegar. My friend from Henan said it was really solid also! Liang Pi - I have tried the #1 (regular liang pi) and #2 (old luo yang processed noodles), both of which have the most insane peanut sesame type notes. The main distinction is the noodle texture of which #1 (regular liang pi) is more springy, smooth, jelly-like texture whereas #2 (old luo yang processed noodles) is more of a QQ, firm, chewy, bouncy texture. Definitely up to personal preference, however I felt #1 (regular liang pi) soaked up the saucey flavors a bit better.
So this place my husband did an early morning pickup and brought home. It was really good! The hamburger bun was flaky which I love and the meat tasty and juicy. I am definitely going back myself in person when I am in Flushing! There's actually two locations so will checkout both as well. My husband said service is nice and ambiance is take out so quick.

They made it in 15 minutes. A lot of people were picking up their orders and they were very busy. The burger was flavorful and the bread was crispy and the pieces if beef was juicy strong pepper flavor but not spicy. Cold noodles was packaged neatly and noodles were tender and delicious. The cold noodles from famous Xian taste better though.

Stopped by to try the cumin lamb bun ("chinese burger"). Would come back just for it! Maybe even try other items on the menu. Bring cash, and order in person. Online the price for the bun was more expensive and varied. It was $7.50 flat when I ordered at the cash register. It wasn't too busy when I went and they were so fast I didn't even have time to put the money back in my purse before they handed me the bun. It looks pretty flat and I do wish they stuffed it more because it was so delicious, but it did keep me full a while. The cumin flavor is strong and the best way I can describe it is it reminded me of a ground beef taco seasoning packet except elevated. Love the lamb with it, onions were sautéed perfectly, and the hints of other veggies made it the perfect bite. read more
Small no frills flushing restaurant which runs the Xians famous foods playbook. On a busy summer holiday afternoon, I got the #1 "regular cold noodles" $8.50 no tax in cash. Their liangpi. They ask if you want spicy and I said yes. Minutes later you get on your food. Was tough to find a comfortable seat as the restaurant is small and Long and the people on line ordering food bump into the seated diners if queue is long. Flaky dough with a flavorful juicy lamb filling - what more can you ask for! The lamb and cumin paired so well together and the marinade was on point - super flavorful, spicy, and chewy. You may make a bit of a mess with the flaky dough but it's so worth it! Would love to come again (another location in the food court across New World Mall) to try their cold, wide noodles, which is another crowd favorite from here. read more
Not sure if it's a second new location or if they moved from their old spot but it's Old Luo Yang Cheap eats, can get a bowl of noodle for $8-13. The meat bun is good for $6, I prefer the pork to the lamb, I feel like they're more generous with the filling when it's not lamb. Their spicy cold noodle and the meat bun always hits the spot. And with the grand total of $15 I am stuffed. The lady at the counter here didn't speak any English but was more than happy to step out so I could point at the picture menu. It's a hole in the wall and I don't think they have any seating... some of the store fronts have their own little seating bars, they just packed everything to go for me. read more
Fast and casual Chinese eats! There's not a lot of indoor seating but many people come for take out so you might be lucky to grab a spot if you're trying to eat indoors. We got the cumin lamb and the pork Chinese burger and the wonton soup. They were all delicious, I personally like the lamb burger better. It was pretty busy when we came on a weekend but we didn't have to wait long and the staff were efficient. read more

Came to Old Luo Yang to try their rougamo and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was packed with customers when I entered and it's a pretty popular spot for a reason. I tried their black pepper beef rougamo and it was absolutely delish. Definitely a MUST TRY! The bun was crispy and flakey. The filling was packed with flavor with the cumin and had the perfect amount of spice. An Asian auntie walked over when I was eating and literally pointed to my order and told the cashier she wanted exactly what I got. Best compliment ever. I gave it to my sister to try and she loved it as well. Definitely will be coming back here to try the other flavors. Recommend put this spot on your list! It's soooo good :) read more
Wow! Amazing Chinese eats in Flushing! The storefront is easily missed. It's mainly a takeout place, but can seat a couple of individuals if you want to dine in. They open early at 10:30 AM, which is a plus. Most of the menu items are spicy, but I tried a couple of non-spicy Chinese burger and cold noodles. It's really delicious. Credit card is $10 minimum. Otherwise bring cash. The CO2 is okay, since the front door keeps opening and closing so there is fresh air circulation. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommend this place. read more
I tried these guys first at the Flushing BID Food tour and they left an impression that made me want to return. At that event I tried the Regular Rougamo (Chinese Burger) and their regular cold noodles (Liangpi). I thought the noodles had a great texture and good flavor. The burger was truly tender and flaky - there was a good amount of meat stuffed inside. When it came to the space itself I thought it had a nice modern look of varied grey tiles throughout - very modern. Next time i stopped in for a quick burger, the cumin lamb this time and found it overly greasy, sparsely filled. Damn, I thought I should have stuck with the regular burger. Simple math here - 5 stars 1st time trying (maybe because it was free and I was hungry it made me more generous) and 3 stars for a regular visit. read more
The flavors at Old Luo Yang, named for the capital of Henan province, will be familiar to those who have tried the now omnipresent Xi'an Famous Foods, offering the cuisine of the neighboring province. Here too the influence of Uighur cuisine, and that cuisine's more distant roots, is clearly visible through the heavy use of cumin, among other telltale signs. The spinach cold noodle I tried didn't have the full "biang biang" texture I was looking for, but was still good, and the mildly spicy slightly nutty sauce it was soaked in. They're known for their liang pi 凉皮 here. I got the original cold noodles ($8). It was absolutely fantastic. Tasty, slightly spicy and chewy. Fresh rice flour noodles. One of my fav types of noodles!! Much try. It is in the same mall as joes steam rolls and mimisa korean chicken. For $8 and no tax/tip, this value cant be beat! read more

Hidden in a small alleyway shop is this place that serves up some very authentic liang pi. Very refreshing cold sesame noodles with very bouncy gluten. Flavors were good. I also got the pork hamburger, and although the meat was juicy, it was much too salty for my taste. In the future I would just get the liangpi to go. This place may be a bit intimidating for non-english speakers since everything is in chinese. They only have limited counter seating but you can slurp up your noodles then be on your way. read more

Only ordered the Chinese cumin lamb burger. 10/10 DELISH and not too spicy. The bread was soooo flaky and crispy. Would come back again to try the other cold noodle dishes. Wish the counter eating space was a little cleaner though. Workers did not clean or wipe counter space after customers leave. Most customers don't linger after eating but you can just sit and dine. Quick and cheap eat in flushing. read more
