This restaurant has been in Miami as far back as I can remember. We stopped by on a Friday night, and just arrived before the dinner crowd. Inside has an old school vibe, but clean and classy. Our waiter was excellent, very attentive. Our food was tasty, the steaks were cooked perfectly. We're definitely adding Old Lisbon to our regular dinner spots.

My girlfriends and I dined here on one of my last nights on a recent visit to Miami. Given the rave reviews and recommendations, I was pretty excited to try this restaurant! My trip to Portugal was just last year, so I was looking forward to reliving some culinary memories. It was pretty easy to snag a last-minute reservation on a Saturday evening so we were seated right away with no wait. The restaurant has limited parking but valet is available. Inside, you definitely get "old" European vibes but it's packed with people inside and out. My friends and I were seated in a separate room apart from the main dining area - even this area was packed! We enjoyed being away from the crowd so we could catch up on conversation. Food wasn't the best, but I've never loved Portuguese food, so my expectations weren't incredibly high, but I did enjoy the ambiance, the availability of a restaurant with no wait on a Saturday night, and the great service. We ordered the following: - Polvo A Vinagreta - Paelha A Marinheira - Bacalhau A Old LIsbon - Pastel de nata No dish was terrible, no dish was incredibly great. The seafood in my dish was delicious but it didn't carry the rest of the dishes. Overall, a good dining experience especially if you're looking for convenience on a Saturday night.

We have driven past this place over the last 10 years always wanting to try it. Today we were in the neighborhood and pulled into the parking lot to give it a shot. The place has a good vibe as you enter. All the employees that work here are very attentive And they all help each other out. I honestly did not know what to expect as when it came to the food. We tried a few things out as we were not very hungry. We found the food to taste very authentic and if you like Mediterranean food, I'm sure you would enjoy it

Haven't been here in a while. Service was quick and the restaurant was not busy. This is a Portuguese menu so expect to see a lot of Cod dishes. Today I ordered the fish soup and Paella for one that, if conservative wise, two can ear from it. Food was good and it come out as ordered with a little under temperature for my taste. Nonetheless the food was on point as expected of this restaurant. The ambience is very relaxing and both casual and elegant. It is up to you how to come but shorts or a tank top is not casual, just saying. This restaurant sits on a corner so I always park on the side. There is park and pay but it is worth it. They do have parking on the back just in case you want someone parking your car. Prices can be a little on the high end, however if you want to enjoy good food and a nice place outside the routine is worth it. Reason for not getting a 5 star is simple. As you know me, service is essential and when they forget about you on drinks that is a no no. A little picky on the temperature of the food but then again it is a matter of taste. Enjoy.

I was looking for Portuguese food and ended up going for the paella because why not? It was rich in seafood ingredients and very delicious. The portion was generous, and the flavors were well-balanced. That said, it had a bit too much liquid for my preference when it comes to paellas. I usually like them a bit drier with a crisp bottom layer. Still, the dish was enjoyable overall.

A great dining experience. Service was spot on and the food was extraordinary. A very great selection of porchgees wine and port to be had.

Don't think we ordered well. The portions are enormous and the rice dishes are not like paella. The octopus rice was very salty and was not good after a few bites.

This was my first time at this restaurant after being living in Miami for 25 years. Upon arrival the place was packed on a Saturday night. We were a party of 8 and took like 25 minutes to wait for our table although we had a reservation. The best dishes to order are with cod for sure. I had the one with potatoes and it was delicious, very good taste and balance on salt and pepper and onions. Other ordered the cod with cheese on top. Their portions are so big that one plate is good for two. I brought leftover home. Definitely worth the visit and go for a special ocassion and delicious cod dinner.

Amazing, authentic Portuguese food! We were seated in one of their discreet dining areas with a little wooden bar. We had fresh bread with butter, followed by the main dishes which came in cast-iron pans. Everything we tried was delicious, from the flaky cod in thick tomato sauce to the tender beef. The cod tasted so fresh it verged on sinewy and chewy, a generous fillet was given which can last 2-3 meals. Their dessert menu is EXTENSIVE but of course had to try the pasteis de nata; they come in a set of 2, crispy and flaky with a cozy custard interior like a hug. We also tried the chocolate mousse and the almond tart which my Portuguese friend loved.

Came here for Father's Day and it did not disappoint. Their portions are great, kind service and wonderful ambiance. Definitely recommend their Seafood Paella.

Wow! I finally made it and it didn't disappoint. After years of passing by this and thinking to myself I need to try it: it came into fruition tonight. It's a cute, classy interior with a show type of kitchen great service. Olive oil, wine and food all from Portugal. Their cod croquettes starter were tasty as well as the black eyed peas they topped. My surprising favorite was the vegetable strew. This alone Id return for. The cod main was also very nicely prepared with fresh trimmings albeit a bit bony (watch out!). Portion sizes were generous and all in I felt pricing fair. Loved that they had a decent dedicated parking lot. I'd totally return.

They sell bottles of wine, imported olive oils, lots of (mostly European) wines by the glass, and light bites like charcuterie, small pizzas and popcorn. We've come here a few times, our dog was welcome, staff were friendly and outgoing, offering us various tabletop games like tic-tac-toe to pass the time, and once we'd both ordered a few glasses of wine, they offered us complimentary popcorn - something they normally charge for. Wines on their "by the glass" menu average about $16 each, and most staff pour them behind the bar where they have a gauge to measure out each one. The food prep area behind the bar is quite small (which is why they don't have a large menu), but so is this little gem of a wine spot in general. It's cozy, eclectic and great for a glass of wine and a small snack, or a nightcap after having dinner elsewhere. It's good for singles at the bar, or an intimate spot for couples and smaller groups. Vinoteca seems to have found their niche, and they've filled it quite nicely. That said, I'm not sure the staff, at least the ones working on the nights we've come, have a lot of knowledge about wines or are in the position to talk at length about their various selections.

The first location in the River is better imo because the location is bigger, there is plenty more seating than the Grove location. Although, I still enjoyed my time at this location as well. Sooo how it works is that you go inside and pick a bottle of wine from the fridges. You can also order by the glass if you aren't a big drinker or if you want to try different wines. The bottles are moderately priced depending on your selection. We chose an orange wine and it was nice, very refreshing, you can really get that citrus essence with every sip. Another thing that they have is that you can pick different cheeses and meats and they will build you a charcuterie board. I love this because it is all based on your selection, nothing will go to waste. They also have food you can order. A lot of people love the nuggets with caviar. I think they are decent imo but I'm not like in love with them. Parking can be a bit annoying... If there isn't street parking, you can also park in the garage. The service was good, the staff was friendly. The only thing that was a hassle was getting a table. We had to wait a bit in order for a table to become available. Overall, this spot is a very cozy place to hang and mingle with friends.

As others have stated, Magie is good in concept and we'll likely return here, but with just a bit…read moremore effort on their part this wine bar could be so much better IMO. Unlike some other reviewers that scoffed at the prices of the wine, that didn't bother me so much. We had a bottle here that cost $55 and it retails for about $28; I was OK with that, as all restaurants and wine bars have a markup above retail, and even when you go to spots like Happy Wine or El Carajo and pick out a bottle to drink while in their shop, they charge a corkage fee for that. What I did have a problem with is that, after the "service charge" and other fees were added on, our $55 bottle rang up to more than $73 in total, which was ludicrous. When we first arrived at Magie we were met by a young guy who pointed out the bottles and where the various charcuterie items are located in the coolers, and we were then pretty much left on our own. We really just wanted a glass of wine each, but unlike places like Vinoteca, here at Magie they had a very limited selection of wines by the glass, and the ones available all seemed to come in single-serve cans. We picked out a bottle to share, went to the register, paid and the guy opened it and handed us 2 glasses. When I returned to get napkins, the guy just motioned to where the napkins were so I could grab my own (after moving a delivery cart out of the way by myself so I could reach them). Again, though this place includes an automatic "service charge", we received zero actual "service" unless one considers the 45 seconds it takes to uncork our bottle and charge us for the purchase. We had a seat, had a glass of wine each and then re-corked our bottle of wine and took it with us. Overall I think Magie is a great concept with lots of potential. The inside seating area is interestingly decorated and outfitted with lots of eclectic furniture and items on the walls, and the relatively large patio seating out front with tables for 2 to 8 people is shielded from the adjacent street/traffic and shaded by lots of trees and greenery. The ambiance overall is really very nice. The service, however, was non-existent, especially considering the automatic charge for that, and while prices of at least some wines aren't terribly out of line, the fact that all the service charges, taxes and fees added $20 to the cost of our bottle was a bit of a shocker. Magie should consider adding more wines by the glass IMO. Not just subpar quality single-serve cans, but decent wines, poured from a proper bottle with a topper that preserves the wine between pours like most every quality wine bar commonly offers. Lastly, while I don't think anyone expects linen napkins and white glove service, the paper plates and plastic cutlery customers are given to eat with are a bit off vs. what this place appears to be trying to be and the prices charged. The "F*ck Brunch" positioning statement on the back of the staffs' shirts was an interesting touch.

As soon as we sat down, I politely asked if we could be moved. The manager then told me that I had booked bar seating, which is simply not true. Why would anyone reserve bar seating a month in advance for Valentine's Day? I checked my reservation confirmation myself and it never stated that, and I even tried making another reservation to verify ..bar seating wasn't even an option. He told us he would "see what he could do," and we were left waiting at the bar with no water, no menus, no service, and no communication whatsoever. Meanwhile, we watched multiple couples get seated at proper tables back-to-back. At one point, we even overheard another couple say their reservation was at the same time as ours, and they were seated at a table immediately. When I tried to politely ask for an update, the manager or owner completely ignored me. No acknowledgment, no apology, nothing. I was honestly in shock at how disrespectful and dismissive they were. A restaurant that still comes to mind months later is usually doing something right, and this visit confirmed what we loved about our first experience. We made reservations without any issues a couple of days before. The restaurant was clean, bright, and had not filled up yet with the busy Sunday family crowd. Upon being seated, we were provided with the regular menu and the Miami Spice Lunch menu. The Miami Spice Lunch, which has now become a daily Executive Lunch special, is a standout value. The portion sizes and the quality of the Argentinian steaks speak for themselves. As a group, here's what we ordered: Starters - Ham and Cheese Empanadas - Morcilla - Grilled Provolone Each starter delivered exactly what you'd expect from an Argentinian steakhouse. The empanadas were warm and flaky, the morcilla was rich and well seasoned, and the grilled provolone came out bubbling and perfect for sharing amongst our table with the restaurant's complementary bread basket. Entrée: - New York Strip Steak, 12 oz This was the only cut of steak we ordered. It was cooked to each of our desired temperatures and seasoned simply, letting the quality of the beef speak for itself. It is clear why La Cabrera has a reputation as one of Latin America's best restaurants. Sauces on the side, which included a BBQ sauce, and a chimichurri, were left for our choosing and were used for the side dishes more than anything. Sides: - French Fries - Jasmine Rice Both sides complemented the steak well. The fries were crispy and large in size. My father-in-law, a cuban man who's very serious about his rice dishes, thought the jasmine rice was very good. Dessert: - Dulce de Leche Ice Cream with Cone - Dulce de Leche Pancakes The ice cream was smooth and rich, while the pancakes were finished with a sugary powder coating that was impossible to resist. This lunch reinforced why La Cabrera continues to be stand out in a crowded field of steakhouses. Between the consistency, generous portions, and the value of their daily menu specials, it's an easy recommendation whether you're bringing family, hosting someone from out of town, or simply looking for a great lunch in Coconut Grove.

The wait time was quick--under 5 minutes--on a saturday night and we were seated outside. We started with a fried seafood appetizer, which was enjoyable. For my main dish, I ordered the linguine alle vongole. Unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing. Every bite contained noticeable sand, making the dish gritty and inedible. I asked for it to be removed from the bill and declined a replacement. The manager, Fabian, came over but did not seem very understanding or accommodating. Stating they always clean their clams and that he would see with the kitchen. While the dish was removed, the issue didn't feel properly acknowledged. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I likely will not return. I have been to many restaurants and asked for this same dish and never had to crunch on sand

It was incredibly fresh, perfectly fried, and full of flavor. Tuna Tacos: These were the star of the show--absolutely amazing! Conch Fritters: Delicious and seasoned just right. Baby Back Ribs: These were just okay; good, but they didn't quite hit the heights of the seafood. Drinks & Atmosphere The cocktails were fantastic and well-crafted. Beyond the food, the vibe is what really makes this place special. It's a very "pretty" location with great waterfront views, making it a perfect backdrop for a meal. It is also very family-friendly, so it's a great choice for bringing the whole crew along. Great seafood, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit! The beef carpaccio was super fresh and perfectly balanced. The skirt steak? So good and tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. But the standout for me was the tuna tostones... obsessed. And the manchego croquetas were the perfect bite. Definitely one of those spots where you want to order a little of everything and share. We'll 100% be back!

They accommodated our party of eight flawlessly, and to top it off, we even had live music on a Wednesday night. This place is such an incredible wine place with tons of amazing bottles and varieties to choose from. You basically shop around the space, pick out your own wine, and bring it back to the table for your server to open and serve. Everything is organized by region and the prices vary so you can easily find something that fits your taste and budget. Every staff member we encountered was fantastic, and everything we ate and drank was just as good. We started with a red Pinot noir bottle we loved so much that we ended up ordering three more for the table. For food, we ordered several dishes to share: The Marinated Olives which i didn't try these because I'm not an olive person. The Bacon Wrapped Plantains which was such a unique combo, and surprisingly delicious. The Local Burrata which was absolutely delicious. I've never met a pan con burrata I didn't like. The Manchego Croquetas were my absolutely favorite. manchego is one of my favorite cheeses, so I already knew I'd love this. Perfectly balanced, not greasy at all, crispy on the outside, melty and creamy on the inside. The honey sauce on the side was the perfect touch. We also got the Steak Frites & Chicken to share which was super tender, flavorful, and the fries were perfectly crispy, just how I love them. They were out of the yuca bravas, so we couldn't try these but they sound phenomenal. And we couldn't chose what desssert we wanted so we went with all three. The flourless chocolate cake with icecream, the key like tres leche and the guava tiramisu. Alll delicious !! And lastly , i have to highlight Thalia, our server. She was exceptional! Truly a five-star experience for our first visit. She handled our group of eight with ease, was always on top of refills without us having to ask, knew the menu inside and out, and gave amazing recommendations. She made the whole night even better. Can't wait to come back especially for lunch since she mentioned they have great lunch specials. This spot is definitely a new favorite,

We received great, friendly, and attentive service by Jofrey. We enjoyed the short rib tacos, oysters, meat balls, grilled olives from the happy hour menu and the mussels, beets burrata, and tiramisu tres leches from the main menu. It's cute, moody, but not over done so perfect for date night or girls night. All their wines are great and you can't beat the price at $9 a glass. They recently extended the happy hour from 6pm to 7pm which I'm glad!! Now the food - I have never had a bad item from here. I will forever talk about their bacon wrapped dates (not pictured). And this trip I absolutely fell in love with the spinach cheese dip. My one complaint is why does it only come with three toasties? I had to ask for more, which they gladly accommodated me - and the same with the guys next to me. But if you're bringing me a whole bowl of deliciousness, I need more than three toasties with it!!!
