Churrasco - good but a bit overdone (I ordered medium)
Erbira B.

The restaurant's ambiance is very nice, classy & modern. The service is excellent and the food was very good. We went during Taste of Gables which offers a 3 course meal for a discounted price. They had several selections. The only negatives were that my steak was overcooked and that it was hot in the restaurant. It seems the air conditioning was not working.

Tonight we ate at Arcano, ordered the Chicharone tacos with guacamole, spicy mayo, lime pickled onions. It was phenomenal dish that is hard to find executed perfectly. The mushrooms were great quality perfectly seared with lemon zest for brightness would definitely order again, Gamba al ajillo were delicious light and paired well with the grilled thin sliced baguette. The calamari on fire was creative with the chorizo and pineapple, love the combo of sweet, spicy, with seafood. Will definitely be returning asap, possibly for lunch as their lunch deals are generous! Highly recommend. Great for a business lunch. Ideal for a date night. This is what we've needed in Coral Gables, a chef/ingredient -forward spot with a menu that sits at the perfect intersection of tradition and innovation. YES!

I was impressed on my first visit, so when I heard about a chef‑collaboration cocktail‑pairing dinner, I had to go back to this restaurant. Service and ambiance were excellent as usual--the staff was attentive, warm, and professional--and a small-format group performed songs from Latin America, especially Cuba, setting a lively, elegant mood. The menu featured three courses plus a few amuses; the food was simple and good, though for a tasting menu I expected more elaboration and distinctive flavors. The food presentation also felt short. Highlights were a unique scallop ceviche; a melon gazpacho whose texture felt a bit off; and a fresh, very well-cooked black cod, while other items were less memorable. The cocktails were the stars: bold and well balanced-- "Flor y Cactus" was delicious albeit too small (almost a shot size) to pair with three amuses/canapés; "Altura" was very tasty but arrived warm; and "Chococeniza" and "Humo y Coco" were standouts, genuinely perfect. A small sponsor gift bag at the end was a great surprise. Pacing between courses and cocktails was occasionally too long; with small portions and pours, lengthy transitions left the table without food or drinks for some time. Lighting remained quite bright on both of my visits, and I'd prefer warmer, softer light for a more intimate atmosphere. Overall, it was a good night, and I will definitely return for the regular dinner menu--and likely give another tasting menu a second chance.

Arcano, where their goal is to transport us back to grandmas house. Their avocado drink also known as baila conmigo, which was exactly what I was doing, while I drank the cutest drink I've had this drink and I swear it was endless. We were told it was savory but it was definitely not. Though it resembled a very healthy green drink. Then their delicious ceviche, refreshing with a little hint of strawberry. Then we tried their crudo de lomito, incredibly earthy with a coffee Demi glaze. Then we tried their La tentadora which is their version of a Negroni. Their shrimp croquetas were the creamiest indulgence I needed. For mains we did the churrasco which is served with their seasonal roots gratin. Cheesy, and the layers had me going. The pato con mole was filled with spices. The sauce is a must and the duck was the perfect balance of meaty with a hint of fat for flavor. For deserts we had to get their pan de plátano that brings bananas in many ways in a banana bread and a plantain ice cream. Perfect for us who love bananas. Then we had the ultra moist tres leches.

Excellent drinks served in kitschy glasses - I think a little heavy and funny looking but if they love it why not.

Lovely new restaurant in the Gables replacing what was previously TUR. We have enjoyed that space before and appreciated the updates made by Arcano. The staff could not have been more kind or attentive. Enjoyed the drinks, the salads, the guacamole (amazing) and the pork belly tacos! The scallop dish was not particularly tasty nor the avocado ice cream our waiter raved about. Did very much like the flan for desert. Overall we had a yummy time and found the dishes to be a modern and sophisticated version of old favorites. Will be back to try more!

Just had a fantastic family dinner at Arcano. The dining room felt very modern and cozy at the same time. It felt like we had our own private room for the 7 of us. We ordered tapas and cocktails to start. The ceviche, mushrooms, croquetas, octopus, tomato bread, and anchovies were presented very artfully and were very delicious. The cocktails were very colorful and came in cool, unique glassware. The ribeye steak and skirt steak were the highlights of the main dishes and were cooked to perfection. For dessert, the banana bread, tres leches cake, chocolate cake, and creme de Catalana were all exquisite. Our server Lucas was wonderful as he was very welcoming and explained all the dishes in detail as they came out. The service was exceptional and made the evening memorable for our first night out in Miami.

We were sad to see TUR go, but Arcano is a great addition to the Gables restaurant scene. One of the few Latin Fusion restaurants that actually blends various cuisines, and does it well. The service is amazing as well, everyone was attentive and really appreciated our feedback on dishes.

Trio de Croquetas (Shrimp, crab, squid) - MUST HAVE. So so delicious. .

Best new restaurant in the Gables! Im going to keep it short and sweet for now, and I'll update my review later. Must order: everything on the menu. Just kidding. But seriously, everything we had was amazing. Must order: Trio de croquestas (crab, shrimps, squid) Ceviche Aguachile Lamb empanadas Peril Beef skewer Shrimp skewer Desserts - had the beet dessert and it was amazing. The service is always great! Good music playing. You can sit at the bar inside, sit outsode at a normal table, sit outside in the lounge area where you can play games and watch tv, onside dining. There are so many different areas you can be in for a different vibe. Today is the first day I ate there. 0 REGRETS! My friends and I didn't hold back and ordered a ton of apps, drinks and dinner plates. Their drinks have special funny names and are hand crafted in front of you. I love the besame! After eating dinner here and loving every single dish, I trust anything on the menu!!! Cant wait to try more! See you soon, Arcano!

While the ambiance is more approachable than a typical "luxury" venue, the meal itself is highly impressive. The Highlights We began with a sampling of croquettes, all of which were excellent. The squid ink croquette, however, was the undisputed standout--rich, flavorful, and truly outstanding. The Pimientos de Piquillo were another fantastic choice, proving to be a great decision for the table. The Boquerones were very good and certainly among the better options found locally, maintaining a fresh and classic profile. The Camarones al Ajillo were also enjoyable, offering a solid, traditional taste that, while predictable, was well-executed. The Grand Finale The meal ended on a high note with the Basque Cheesecake. It was exceptional--perfectly creamy and expertly prepared. It is easily one of the best versions of this dessert available in Miami. Service & Atmosphere The service was top-tier; Leandro and his team were professional, attentive, and ensured a seamless experience. Although the setting was less formal than I had initially anticipated, the overall quality of the food and service ensured that I was not disappointed. Highly recommended for a focused and delicious Spanish dining experience.

The place was packed, and their pastries looked incredible at the front. The service was quick and attentive, which I liked for a weekday lunch. As for the food, the jamon iberico croquetas were amazing. The jamon iberico and machego platter- how can you get that wrong? The huevos rotos were very good. The pan con tomate could have been crispier and saltier, but other people at the table loved it. The hake on the business lunch was a total miss for me. The fish was overcooked, the sauce was flavorless, and it was this think gelatin like texture that really did not do it for me. Everyone at the table agreed, and the server took it back without question - nice. The paella was good! I thought the rice was cooked perfectly. The cochopo was GREAT and very unique, I'd never had that before. The standout dish was definitely the cuchinillo though - wow.

It was a special of the day but we hope they bring this back, it's too good and nothing like it anywhere else! 20/10 Beverages: 1. Holiday shot in souvenir glass: tbh I only got this for the glass but the shot was okay: espresso, mint liqueur and orange liqueur. It was heavy on the mint which I wasn't a huge fan of. 8/10 3. Everyone here is ready to eat well and have a lovely time. No sooner had we sat down, our server took our drink order and immediately brought it out. We chose a Spanish Urbión Rioja reserva wine and it was quite delectable. We also ordered 2 Coke zeros. For our starters, we selected: * 2 Chips de Berenjena. Eggplant chips, flash fried and drizzled with honey. These are the best!!! So delicious, we ordered 2 servings and everyone in the restaurant was ordering them. * Fried Calamari with a very tasty aioli sauce. * Gulas de Ajillo Baby eels cooked in garlic sauce and olive oil - delicious. This dish is very special to us because my Husband eats it every time we visit Barcelona. * Pulpo a la Plancha - Grilled octopus with creamy black rice made of calamari ink. The rice was excellent, absolutely luscious. * Pulpo a la Gallega. Boiled octopus and boiled potatoes drizzled with paprika and olive oil. For our Mains we ordered the * Filet Mignon with blue cheese sauce and boiled potatoes. This dish was just OK. The potatoes weren't seasoned, only boiled. The steak had no char and was overdone for a filet. My Husband also ordered * Patatas a la Giralda - their twist on patatas bravas with two homemade signature sauces. These were crispy, and delicous. Served underneath the 2 sauces. * I ordered Grilled Chicken with salad. I was taken aback by the server for food shaming me to order something pricier, not just basic chicken. That's not cool. I also got a side of * Patatas - fried steak fries, very crunchy paired well with our food. For dessert we had * Crema Catalana, which is a Spanish syle Crème brûlée. This dessert has probably been the smallest dessert I've ever ordered. Not to mention, the consistency, the taste and color was all wrong. It was as if you had a Jello vanilla pudding with a miniscule amount of hardened caramelized sugar. Definitely not getting this desert again. I'd like to try the Tarta de Santiago next time. Once our food arrived the Flamenco show began and it was glorious!! The lead male vocalist was phenomenal! His vocal range and guitar skills were admirable. The show began with singing first and then the dancer started. She was a personable, very talented dancer and performer. At one point she locked eyes with me and before I knew it I was up there dancing with her, which was so much fun! I really enjoyed this restaurant and recommend it to open minded people who enjoy food from Spain.

First things first: if you want their Spanish tortilla with chorizo, you have to order it ahead of time. Same-day they usually only have the regular tortilla available, so plan ahead -- and trust me, it's worth it. Thick, soft, perfectly layered potatoes and egg with that extra smoky chorizo flavor that takes it to another level. A true comfort dish done right. Their tortilla is one of their staples for a reason. We also ordered a variety of croquetas: jamón serrano, queso manchego, camarones, and bacalao. Honestly, all of them were good (and I mean all), but the bacalao croquetas? Wow. Next level. Super creamy inside, crispy outside, packed with flavor -- easily my favorite of the table. And because it was Mother's Day, dessert was mandatory. Everyone ordered something different: flan with almond ice cream, crema catalana, Basque-style cheesecake, and I went for the Tarta San Marcos. I'm not Spanish, so it was my first time trying it, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's made with layers of sponge cake, cream, chocolate truffle -- but somehow it doesn't feel too heavy. It paired perfectly with a cafecito and was the ideal ending to the meal. The place is small, cozy, and very authentic. I hadn't been in a while, and you can tell they've organized the space better -- the wine boxes and market area feel cleaner and more intentional, and there's a little more room to breathe. Service was super nice and welcoming. Overall, La Vasca is one of those hidden gems where the food feels as authentic as it gets. We had never heard of it until our friends mentioned it as they said they really enjoyed it and were good friends with the owner. Now this restaurant is located in a very unassuming strip mall on SW 8 Street but do not let the location fool you as this restaurant is the real deal. It has deli section with lots of Spanish cheeses and other items; also, has a wonderful selection of Spanish wines. Hard to miss as there are bottles everywhere. The vibe was that of small European type cafe in Spain and Portugal and was very warm and cozy. The owners are especially nice and provided us with some complimentary bread and some home made crab and salmon spreads with Aoli that were awesome. The restaurant is small so reservations are definitely in order if you are thinking on checking them out and I really recommend that you do. What the owners are saving in operational overhead makes it's way to the quality of their food. We all decided to go Tapas style so we could try a little of the more popular dishes and I have to say it was the right approach. No need to worry on portion sizes either as they are excellent and perfect for sharing. From the home made ham and cod croquettes to the traditional lacón con papas, Spanish seafood medley "Mal de Vida" it was all fresh, made to order and delicious. We really had a wonderful time, eating and reminiscing which is what it's all about right? Parking can be a bit of a problem so if you can't find a spot in the strip mall itself, their is public street parking available and you can drive around back to the residential neighborhood and park anywhere you do not see a "No Parking" sign. Make sure you comply or your car will get towed. Overall, we had a wonderful time and we will be going back again and often! This cozy little gem is as good if not better than many of the upscale Spanish restaurants in Miami and for way less money. So if you find yourself in the Little Havana area or are willing to take a drive to taste some awesome Spanish food feel free to check them out. I am positive you will not be disappointed. Wishing you all a wonderful dining experience and bon appétit m'es amis!

We had a reservation for a party of seven, yet the host was unwelcoming, dry, and made us feel more like an inconvenience than guests. We were told to "sit down" with no warmth or hospitality whatsoever. The ambiance was equally upsetting. For a Spanish taverna, we expected a lively, warm atmosphere--music, conversation, and a welcoming vibe. Instead, the restaurant felt dead silent, stiff, and uncomfortable. It was so quiet and stuffy that we didn't even feel comfortable speaking with each other. We enjoy fine dining, but this was absolutely not that experience. After receiving water, we waited--and waited--with no service and no acknowledgment from any staff member. Despite being a group of seven, no one approached our table for quite some time. Eventually, we felt so uncomfortable and ignored that we all got up and left. Even my mom, who waited to let the staff know we were leaving, had to walk away because no one bothered to come over. This is not what anyone should expect from a local Spanish restaurant that calls itself a tavern. It lacked hospitality, warmth, and basic customer service. A restaurant that still comes to mind months later is usually doing something right, and this visit confirmed what we loved about our first experience. We made reservations without any issues a couple of days before. The restaurant was clean, bright, and had not filled up yet with the busy Sunday family crowd. Upon being seated, we were provided with the regular menu and the Miami Spice Lunch menu. The Miami Spice Lunch, which has now become a daily Executive Lunch special, is a standout value. The portion sizes and the quality of the Argentinian steaks speak for themselves. As a group, here's what we ordered: Starters - Ham and Cheese Empanadas - Morcilla - Grilled Provolone Each starter delivered exactly what you'd expect from an Argentinian steakhouse. The empanadas were warm and flaky, the morcilla was rich and well seasoned, and the grilled provolone came out bubbling and perfect for sharing amongst our table with the restaurant's complementary bread basket. Entrée: - New York Strip Steak, 12 oz This was the only cut of steak we ordered. It was cooked to each of our desired temperatures and seasoned simply, letting the quality of the beef speak for itself. It is clear why La Cabrera has a reputation as one of Latin America's best restaurants. Sauces on the side, which included a BBQ sauce, and a chimichurri, were left for our choosing and were used for the side dishes more than anything. Sides: - French Fries - Jasmine Rice Both sides complemented the steak well. The fries were crispy and large in size. My father-in-law, a cuban man who's very serious about his rice dishes, thought the jasmine rice was very good. Dessert: - Dulce de Leche Ice Cream with Cone - Dulce de Leche Pancakes The ice cream was smooth and rich, while the pancakes were finished with a sugary powder coating that was impossible to resist. This lunch reinforced why La Cabrera continues to be stand out in a crowded field of steakhouses. Between the consistency, generous portions, and the value of their daily menu specials, it's an easy recommendation whether you're bringing family, hosting someone from out of town, or simply looking for a great lunch in Coconut Grove.
