Located in a safe part of Olathe, by AMC Old Chicago is a LOT of things but it starts with a good time. Walking in one's eyes are immediately drawn to the HUGE line of taps with all sorts of beers. Of course, right in front of them are some of the nicest bartenders in town. Now, some might be thinking this is a drinking place only, nope its more, much more and the kids will love the huge menu as well. I especially encourage dropping by when your favorite sporting event is on as they have TVs everywhere. I'll admit I've been coming to this restaurant since 2005 or so, I can't remember because it's been so long. That said one of the main features, one that you'll notice in my picture is the beer tour. That's right, drink up to 4 different beers a day which applies to a tour and after 110 beers, you complete a tour and get a cool prize! Moreover, they have holiday mini-tours that last like a month and have interesting limited time brew like (not my favorite) pumpkin brews. Do 10 tours and you get the stein like I have in front of me which allows discounted beer everytime you come in. Please note I don't think it's possible to not like a majority of the beers they have so I think you'll be fine. As for the food, there's something for the kids all the way up to the grandparents. I really like both the Buffalo Chix rolls and pepperoni rolls. Soft and pillowy filled with the meat of your choosing and it's always a hit. I also recommend the Italian nachos as it's a fun spin on the old tried and true nachos. The wings are also great and I like all the flavors unless its hot, I can't do the heat. The spin dip is also a crowd pleaser while the Bavarian pretzel stix are darn good. It's hard to go wrong with any of these and if you need a salad - I recommend the Caesar as it's tasty. As for the main attractions the calzones are dynamite. I have my favorite that I customize with olives, ricotta, onion, sausage and mushrooms which I believe is the best! Regardless of what you chose it will be good. As for pizzas I order mine just like my calzone. It's basically the Chicago 7 without peppers. The dough isn't too soggy or burnt but always comes out just right. Overall, I've never had a bad pie from Old Chicago. As for desserts, I'll leave that to your imagination but I do enjoy a few of them. Overall, Old Chicago is great for the family, a date, friends or whatever excuse you need to get out the house and drop by. The food is great and the beer has more selections that you can hope to go through in a month. Drop on by and enjoy yourself, you deserve it!

It seems that this restaurant may be understaffed. The bartender is absent from what I think of as normal bar duties like taking care of customers at the bar. They spent a lot of time running food and bussing dirty dishes. The restrooms are not well kept, which does raise concerns about the cleanliness of other locations in the restaurant which are not customer facing.

SICILIAN PEPPERONI ROLLS™

Nothing wrong with the gentleman who retrieved my order, but the rolls are overcooked and severely lacking in cheese that normally covers the top of these rolls. Old Chicago already charges a $4 "service fee" on top of every Togo order for this cheap Togo box and I assume their online ordering software. If they can't even keep the food consistent, what's the point of returning?

Food was ok the fries were very salty I had them remake them with no salt. The pizza and chicken was great . Service was good took awhile to get items we asked for such as hot sauce, napkins and a beer. There was music in the background and it was pretty quiet in the restaurant

Today my we went to lunch here and were seated promptly. The restaurant was clean and good temperature and sound level was good in the dining room. The bar seating area was louder so we opted for the dining room booths. Our server was very sweet and gave us good service and was timely in taking our order and the food came out quickly. I had the cauliflower crust pizza which was pretty good. My husband has the Jamaican jerk dry rub bone in wings and a side salad. The side salad was okay according to him and the wings were okay also. So the food in general was just okay but the service was good.

Spinach and artichoke dip, so good!

The place is decorated really cool with a front patio & open garage door windows with cool lighting inside. Tons of TVs and a huge bar! The good stops there. The margarita was way too sweet but the canned Nutrl peach seltzer was good. The chips & salsa & queso took 25 minutes to come out, I figured they'd forgotten and almost wished i hadn't ordered them. The muscly bartender guy was nice enough but a big air head bc he forgot the guy's drinks beside me 2x... and it wasn't even busy, maybe 25 people in the whole place. Worst part was that they added 20% gratuity automatically but didn't tell me! I was ready to go & he took forever so I just handed him my card. He returned just the signature slip & I signed it but also asked for a copy for my expense report. Took 5 minutes for that & when I got it, I realized they added 20% gratuity, but yet the signature receipt didn't indicate that anywhere that tip was already added, so I accidentally tipped 50%! I didn't realize til I got back to my hotel & they didn't answer when I called back (it was 10pm). I was so mad, and when I called back the next day, the lady told me to call again around 4 & when I did, they didn't answer. Don't get fooled by this place -- check your receipts & don't bother with the food! And don't expect good service either.... OOOOOF.

This morning (Sunday) we stopped in at 10:00am for brunch. We will definitely be doing that again. I had the avocado toast and my husband got the chicken fried steak breakfast. Both were great! Not only was his chicken fried steak huge, but the breading was crazy good/crispy and the meat was very tender. The toppings on my avacado toast were spot on! The bloody Mary's paired wonderfully with both too lol They make some amazing by scratch food here. Service is always amazing and so friendly. Great teamwork too. Pretty good eats, great specials, and a full bar makes for a solid dining option for solos, couples, or families. You'll find Murphy's Corner nestled into a strip center facing 87th. The owner apparently did catering prior to opening this space and you can certainly tell with the food. The menu has lots of options, from standard pub fare to housemade pizza to some rather artisanal salads. I'd suggest the chicken sandwich, hand-breaded and fantastic. Or even the Hinkle, roast beef & thinly cut pork tenderloin with a sweet pepper aioli, is a fabulous sandwich. But don't miss that happy hour from 2:00-6:00 on weekdays. The smashburger special runs $6 for a single, and even that is a fair-sized burger, and maybe share a side with someone special. The smashed patty(s) come with the usual accoutrements, including a 'special sauce' that makes the smash a smash. Secret of the pros: get two patties, because it's worth the extra $3 and it's sensational. If there is any knock, then it might be the speed of service. Having stopped in several times, I don't think I have ever had the kind of turnaround that I can get many other places. But the food often makes it worth the wait, so I can only knock it for one star. Pricing is fair and certainly on the level with the area, parking is shared with other spots along the strip, and the atmosphere is wonderful. There are a TON of TVs in all directions, and you can even sit on the patio in nicer weather. It's a neighborhood spot with great food, great atmosphere, and great specials. Get there.

I didn't order an appetizer because I wanted to get straight to the food. I went with the Fried Clucker and a side of waffle fries. This sandwich was unbelievable huge..smothered in their house sauce, which tasted like a milder version of buffalo sauce. I thought the flavor was good, but the fried skin was falling off the chicken. Every time I cut a piece, the breading would just slide right off. Maybe they need to brine the chicken better to help it stick more but it was no biggie, it still had a good flavor. My boyfriend ordered the chicken-fried chicken, and honestly... nothing too special about it. The mashed potatoes that came with it were flavorless at first, but once we added salt and pepper, they were tasty. Now, I get that this is a bar and grill, so I'm not trying to be overly critical or nit-picky but in that category, Brewbakers definitely ranks on the higher end. This is hands down the best bar and grill I've tried when it comes to food. They even serve Jambalaya here.. what kind of bar and grill do you ever see serving this?? Would I come back? Of course! It is out of the way where i usually am, but im excited to come back and try other things off their menu.

Having had pizza just a day or two ago I decided to scratch my itch for a Chicago dog. This one was pretty good. I am a purist for the Chicago dog, having lived in the area for a short time. This one is spot on. It's exactly everything that it should be; nothing more and nothing less. If there's a better Chicago dog in the KC Metro, I don't know about it. In my opinion, the Polish sausage with sauerkraut is not only the best deal on the menu, but it is absolutely perfect! They asked me if I wanted a spicy mustard on it and of course that is an automatic yes. The sausage itself was beefy and substantial, and the kraut was excellent and just the right amount. Plenty to taste, but not falling off. Having seen others, enjoying their pizza and Italian beef, I will absolutely return to try at least the beef.
