Another one bites the dust. They had some good coupons in November that got me back there after swearing off the place. The food quality took a dive a couple years ago, but what the heck, with a 50% off coupon maybe it's worth another shot. WRONG! When the place is near empty why do they seat loud obnoxious people right next to you? They need a hostess with a brain. The only thing good about this place is the above average beer selection, and even those are higher priced now. Worst dining experience of 2019. Our waiter failed to bring our drinks so we had to get them from the bar. We ordered our food, then 20 minutes later our waiter came back to take our order again because he didn't place the order in the first place. After giving our order for the second time we waited 40 minutes for our food. The waiter claimed that the kitchen was full of new staff and they didn't know what they were doing. The manager said that one of their ovens wasn't working. After an hour of waiting our food was delivered. Definitely not worth the wait. The pizza was soggy and undercooked. Service and food was extremely underwhelming. Will not go back. read more

This is my favorite restaurant. They always have new beers to try. They do a beer tour where you can get prizes and cool swag for trying different beers. The pizza is amazing I always have left overs. If you like beer or your spouse does this is a great place for oyu. read more

Visited after a movie, around 11pm. Seated by a large group and shared the same waiter. What was outstanding was the amount of support this waiter got from other servers and the management. I've never seen anything like it. One came over to get our drinks, another checked to see we had been served. Another came over for the food order and the manager came over to check on us. Slow service with Sierra our waitress. We are new to town and decide to try Old Chicago due to recommendations. The host Anthony takes down my name tells me it's a 30-40 minute wait but we decide to wait. When I notice almost everyone waiting with us was been seated except my group I ask why, the hostess gave my beeper to another group! Finally we are seated. My friend orders a pasta without broccoli because she's allergic but when we finally receive our food hers has broccoli. Night full of disappointment. read more

I come to Old Chicago often. Today is my birthday. My family and I were greeted by a server who's name I shall not disclose. Long story short, he was nice but at the end of our meal, my sister had a bug in her drink. The server said "well you already paid and you have one to go so it's cool right? " I said no I would like to speak with a manager. Bruce was apologetic and he apologized for his servers behavior. Starters were generously portioned -- the Italian nachos could have been a meal by itself -- but the calamari was only one-third squid, two-thirds peppers that are breaded & fried along with the squid. OK pizza but not the Chicago deep dish you might be looking for. Reminds me more like a medium thickness than deep. Overall flavor was good and they have a lot of choices for toppings. They offer a big selection of foods that is not pizza but with my heart set on "deep dish" I didn't try anything else. Ordered the lunch special which came with garlic knots and salad which there was nothing special to report for those. The strawberry lemonade was really good..tart but that's the way I like it! Would go back....but now knowing what to expect I won't be so disappointed when my pizza is not deep dish. Oh! Great place to hang w/ friends - the Double Deckeroni is my favorite pizza and my wife likes the fried zuchinni sticks. Lots of beer on tap to try something new (or enjoy a favorite) each time you come. Bartenders (Trenton and Katie) are VERY friendly and helpful. read more

It could just be me, but everytime I've went into this place, and its been several times, the service has been....is there a word for slower than slow? The food has been good. Nothing I would complain about. I love their pizza. Good stuff. The Calzones are good too. Just plan ahead for giving them lots of time. Its been a while since I have been back due to this issue, so hopefully the problem has since been fixed. I would give them 4 stars at that point. Thursday night was our first and last visit. We must be too old and don't drink enough beer. After 15-20 minutes, our waitress finally wandered over and could tell we were unhappy waiting that long. About 10 minutes later, our drinks arrived and we told her we were ready to order. Really! They had to be kidding. Walked in at 7:15 on a Wednesday night after seeing a movie. The hostess told the 4 of us that it would be a 15 to 20 wait for a table. Looking past her into the dinning room was a sea of empty tables and booths. Looking to the left into the bar there were a few people, maybe filling the bar to 40% capacity. We asked why the wait? Her response "that's what the manager told me to say". Really? Well I asked "is the manager available". She looked at me and said she didn't know and proceeded to walk off. Standing around us was a gentleman waiting for a carry out order and he said we where the 3rd for 4th group to get this treatment since he had been there. Plenty of tables available and there appeared to be enough wait staff and I'm pretty sure the kitchen was open because a few of the people did have food in front of them. So what is going on here. After about 5 minutes and not seeing the hostess again we decided to leave. So if you are in the area looking for something to eat Walk on by this place and go about a half a block to the west to Zio's Italian. We walked in greeted warmly, taken promptly to a table and before the hostess was 3 steps away there was a waiter there to take our drink order. Good food with outstanding service. They must of had an off night last night. Been here many times and always has been great. I like getting the cheap apps and a beer. Took awhile for us to get noticed by our waiter but was great the rest of the time we were there. I always get an order of the pizza rolls but we're very small last night compared to every other time I have been there. Tried a couple new apps and wasn't impressed. Had the Buffalo pizza rolls and I won't be getting again. Too much dough compared to chicken and the ranch was not great. Thought it was blue cheese at first. Yuck. Recently re-visited this Old Chicago on a Friday night. I was surprised to find it slow, and after sitting at the bar I now understand why. Upon entry I was greeted by the prep squad (3 teenage girls in charge of seating) but I elected to sit at the bar, looking forward to a tasty beer and some snacks. Not sure where all the real bartenders went but they are no longer here. I sat at the bar which was nearly empty and waited and watched as the two bartenders spent 10 minutes talking to one customer and undertaking the extreme challenge of working the cash register. I must say my family and I come here a lot because the food is good. The costumer service usually typical. However, today the customer service was extraordinary! They messed up the order and manager came out immediately and apologized for the mistake. The manager then provided us with a coupon for our next visit which I thought was a true gesture of kindness and making things right. We also got our food right the second time around. read more

Don't go to this location if you're expecting to get any of your WBT prizes. They have been out the past 4 times I have earned my reward. I have had to check in with this store every time, as they have never contacted me about my IOU. I understand running out of t-shirts for the mini tour, but to ALWAYS be out of their regular WBT prizes is a little ridiculous. Last time I was there they were out of at least THREE of the different beers I wanted to try. Service here is extremely slow and inattentive. The past few times I have been there they have forgotten to ring in beer orders, they have messed up orders, forgotten appetizers, staff is very rude and short, etc. I never had any of these issues at any other OC location - really wish they kept the OP store open. read more

Waiter stopped by once, didn't actually bring the food until another host brought the food out 20 minutes with half the order missing and the half order that showed up completely wrong! The manager on duty has no response to the situation! I went to the host counter to ask for a general manager card and contact info and was pushed off! After multiple attempts of ordering multiple food or drinks have become complete shined upon the entire staff of the restaurant!!! Absolutely the worst service I've ever had in KC! There is multiple reasons of why I don't come to this place or recommend it to anyone!!!! After nearly 15 minutes no apology or effort to correct the situation at hand!!!! The lady manager was by far the worst manager I've had the unfortunate experience of dealing with!!!! Still after attempts to get the situation resolved no resolve!!!! No way I'm in regards would I recommend the wait staff, management staff, restaurant experience,would I refer anyone to the unpleasant experience you will have by from the time you walk in the door with the lackluster effort of to want to walk foot into his place!!! So, here is my complaint. We showed up for dinner around 6:45. We get sat right away which is was great. Then ordered a couple of beers and an appetizer. The appetizer came out at a reasonable time however the beers didn't show up until 7:40. After we drank the first beer we got a second round thinking that since the place had quieted down it would take that much time. Another 30 minutes later we get our second round now that all our food was packed in a box ready to go. Overall, VERY SLOW SERVICE. And VERY POOR SERVICE. We will not be back. read more

Went in on a Tuesday with 5 people. Everyone in front of us at the hostess stand was seated promptly. They get to our group and tell us it's a 20 minute wait. We saw several large booths and tables open. Several more smaller groups were seated as we stood there. Hostess young blonde didn't care and just stood there with a blank look on her face. We walked over to Chuys and spent $100 on drinks and food. Being going to OC for years and never had to wait for a table on a Tuesday with a half full restaurant. Very disappointed. read more
