My husband and I just left Old Chicago and although the food was excellent the service we received was awful. Our server, Kyle was inattentive after the initial drink and appetizer order. Our drinks were empty for a bit before he asked if we needed a refill, we said yes and I also requested more marinara for our pepperoni rolls (which we never received). After we finished with the appetizer, Kyle finally asked if we wanted to order some entrees. We each ordered a sandwich and a salad, Kyle asked if we wanted the salads out first (we said yes). When the gentleman in the yellow sweater delivered our sandwiches, he asked if we already had gotten our salads, my husband said no, so he went and got them for us. At this point we had been there over an hour, so we decided to eat our salads and take our sandwiches home with us. After another 30+ minutes we had to ask for togo boxes and our check. When he brought our check, he had forgotten to subtract the coupon I told him we had when we first ordered, so he took the check back to correct it, which took him another 10 minutes to bring back the corrected bill. After waiting 10 minutes for him to come pick up our card so he could run it, we finally decided to pay with cash so we could leave, since we had been at Old Chicago more than 2 hours. The food quality took a dive a couple years ago, but what the heck, with a 50% off coupon maybe it's worth another shot. WRONG! I come to Old Chicago often. Today is my birthday. My family and I were greeted by a server who's name I shall not disclose. Long story short, he was nice but at the end of our meal, my sister had a bug in her drink. The server said "well you already paid and you have one to go so it's cool right? " I said no I would like to speak with a manager. Bruce was apologetic and he apologized for his servers behavior. They offer a big selection of foods that is not pizza but with my heart set on "deep dish" I didn't try anything else. Ordered the lunch special which came with garlic knots and salad which there was nothing special to report for those. The strawberry lemonade was really good..tart but that's the way I like it! Worst dining experience of 2019. Our waiter failed to bring our drinks so we had to get them from the bar. We ordered our food, then 20 minutes later our waiter came back to take our order again because he didn't place the order in the first place. After giving our order for the second time we waited 40 minutes for our food. The waiter claimed that the kitchen was full of new staff and they didn't know what they were doing. The manager said that one of their ovens wasn't working. After an hour of waiting our food was delivered. Definitely not worth the wait. The pizza was soggy and undercooked. Really! They had to be kidding. Walked in at 7:15 on a Wednesday night after seeing a movie. The hostess told the 4 of us that it would be a 15 to 20 wait for a table. Looking past her into the dinning room was a sea of empty tables and booths. Looking to the left into the bar there were a few people, maybe filling the bar to 40% capacity. We asked why the wait? Her response "that's what the manager told me to say". Really? Well I asked "is the manager available". She looked at me and said she didn't know and proceeded to walk off. Standing around us was a gentleman waiting for a carry out order and he said we where the 3rd for 4th group to get this treatment since he had been there. Plenty of tables available and there appeared to be enough wait staff and I'm pretty sure the kitchen was open because a few of the people did have food in front of them. So what is going on here. After about 5 minutes and not seeing the hostess again we decided to leave. So if you are in the area looking for something to eat Walk on by this place and go about a half a block to the west to Zio's Italian. They must of had an off night last night. Been here many times and always has been great. I like getting the cheap apps and a beer. Took awhile for us to get noticed by our waiter but was great the rest of the time we were there. I always get an order of the pizza rolls but we're very small last night compared to every other time I have been there. Tried a couple new apps and wasn't impressed. Had the Buffalo pizza rolls and I won't be getting again. Too much dough compared to chicken and the ranch was not great. Thought it was blue cheese at first. Yuck. Recently re-visited this Old Chicago on a Friday night. I was surprised to find it slow, and after sitting at the bar I now understand why. Upon entry I was greeted by the prep squad (3 teenage girls in charge of seating) but I elected to sit at the bar, looking forward to a tasty beer and some snacks. Not sure where all the real bartenders went but they are no longer here. I sat at the bar which was nearly empty and waited and watched as the two bartenders spent 10 minutes talking to one customer and undertaking the extreme challenge of working the cash register. They messed up the order and manager came out immediately and apologized for the mistake. Over priced and small portions. Service is tolerable but clearly lacking in knowledge and expertise. We had the calamari appetizer that was about a 4oz portion. Enough for one person and it was a $10 app. Definitely made their money on that mark up. and although the calamari was hand breaded, it was clumpy and soggy. Again, if you are going to charge $10 for a small portion , it better be spectacular. We had salads that were very meh...again, pricey and small in size. My partner had an Italian chef salad served with a stale chiabatta toast. I had the Mediterranean salad (Greek salad) that I asked to have as an entree. I was served a side salad and when I asked the server if that was the entree portion, she said that it only came in one size. Ooookaay, then why were there 2 sizes on the menu but I digress...both salads were served without dressing and when we asked for dressing, the server took both of our salads (were they going to hand toss them with spectacular house made dressings? Sadly, no) and she returned them with sides of dressing. Hmmmm. Next time (like there is going to be a next time, not) I will order a piece of lettuce, a large serving of air and some crumbs and I will pay the inflated price so I can have the privilege of sitting in a booth in this not up to par chain restaurant. Don't go to this location if you're expecting to get any of your WBT prizes. They have been out the past 4 times I have earned my reward. I have had to check in with this store every time, as they have never contacted me about my IOU. I understand running out of t-shirts for the mini tour, but to ALWAYS be out of their regular WBT prizes is a little ridiculous. Last time I was there they were out of at least THREE of the different beers I wanted to try. Service here is extremely slow and inattentive. The past few times I have been there they have forgotten to ring in beer orders, they have messed up orders, forgotten appetizers, staff is very rude and short, etc. I never had any of these issues at any other OC location - really wish they kept the OP store open. read more

After multiple attempts of ordering multiple food or drinks have become complete shined upon the entire staff of the restaurant!!! Absolutely the worst service I've ever had in KC! There is multiple reasons of why I don't come to this place or recommend it to anyone!!!! After nearly 15 minutes no apology or effort to correct the situation at hand!!!!
