Great outdoor spot overlooking a river. Came here for dinner and we order the cheeseburger , farro salad and waffle fries with aoli. The farro was a bit hard to chew but we liked the tomatoes, cucumbers, corn and feta cheese in it . The cheese burger was delicious and the waffle fries were crisp to perfection. The wife and I were hoofin around in Sequioa and got back late. We were about to drive to Visalia bit decided that the 2 hour round trip wasn't worth it so we decided to bite the bullet and try a spot in Three Rivers closer to our Airbnb.... Everything was closing at 9 and this place had 4 stars so we decided to try it out. And well, it was decent. Service was ok, but nothing special. The person who brought out our food (pretty sure it was the hostess) said oh, let me grab you some ketchup and mustard and somehow forgot to bring them. We had the grilled cheese ($12) which comes with fries that are eerily similar to McDonald's. The flavor was pretty good. We also go a couple of specials, honey sriracha wings ($7) and elote ($6). As with other reviews, I'd say whoever is coming up with the prices is just throwing random numbers up in the air. $12 for a grilled cheese and fries is a bit steep...I'd say $10 or less is more on par $7 for like 10 wings. What a steal! $6 for a piece of corn that wasn't cleaned correctly (had the corn hair all over it) and some mayonnaise. It's a piece of corn that costs 40 cents! $6?!?! How they came up with these prices is beyond me. So why the reason for the 1 star? Cause this place doesnt deserve 4 stars so I have to bring the average down to help other yelpers. read more

Good food, good space, good service. This place has an amazing location. Although, we were not seated with a direct view of the river, you can walk down and take photos. Cute outdoor seating with convenient location when exiting Sequoia NP. The food was crunchy - on the greasier side. I had the grilled cheese which has delicious apples in it. I added a fried egg, which is highly recommend. My husband had the chicken sandwich and it disappeared before I could try it. Not sure I'd give this place a 5 in LA l, but it definitely deserved it after a long day of hiking for its portion size and location! The local beer was also delish. read more

Cute find on our way out of Sequoia National Park! The blue exterior caught our attention. When we walked in, it was kinda busy but they made sure to let us know that there was a 15 minute wait. We were sat quickly and ordered as she took our drink order. We all got the white bean burger and fries (waffle and sweet potato). We ordered lemon sodas that were phenomenal. After reading some other her reviews, I do want to say that this spot is small so it can get very busy very quickly. I would make sure you are aware of that before hand. This was my first time in 3 Rivers and had to try this restaurant. We got the kale Caesar salad, lemon ricotta pancakes and the burger. The kale Caesar was delicious and they trimmed out all the yucky tough bits on the leaves and added lots of flavorful dressing. The lemon ricotta pancakes were light and fluffy! This place is so lovely! We arrived at 8:45pm on a Saturday and they closed at 9pm, but they still seated us and let us take our time. All the dishes were reasonably priced and delicious. We spent our 2024 Spring Break in Three Rivers this year along with our 10 year old son. We ate at the Ol Buckaroo at least 5 times over the course of 3 days and each time the food was delicious and the staff were welcoming and attentive. The location is unbeatable and eating along the river at various times of day (and night) are all unique experiences I'd highly recommend trying. I decided to have dinner at Ol Buckaroo on my first night in the area upon a recommendation from the owner of the property where I was staying. I was confused when I arrived because I was expecting a food truck, but what was there was a sit down restaurant named Buckaroo Diner. It turns out that they opened a restaurant during the winter months. The menu was different than what I was expecting as well. Since I wasn't particularly hungry, I decided to order the cheeseburger with a fried egg. Everything tastes better with a fried egg on top. The burger was just okay, but the fried egg did make it better. I asked for a medium cook and it was cooked perfectly. The fries, as someone else mentioned, looked very much like McDonald's fries. Overall, just okay. There are so many better places for dinner in nearby towns. read more

Rude customer service by what I presume to be the owners/managers. They were verbally rude to other customers as well. Since we were visiting and not from around the area, I had Yelp on my phone and the owner/manager had the audacity to tell me not to leave them a bad review on their establishment in an extremely rude tone. Food was bad and I wouldn't be surprised if they spit in our food. The rude/audacious attitude of the workers was astonishing and have never experienced anything like it. I honestly thought I was on the TV show Kitchen Nightmares and was expecting Gordon Ramsay to show up. However, that wasn't the case. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Fantastic place. Brunch on Sunday and it was perfect! All five of us had different brunch entrees and all of us really enjoyed the food. The service was fast, friendly and accurate. The owner happened to be on site and you could tell he really he is fully invested in his restaurant and has set the bar high for his chefs and employees. Our family of 6 went here for a delicious brunch on our way to Sequoia National Park. We ordered a variety of plates, including the vegan burger and the chilaquiles and the lemon ricotta pancakes. The pancakes were sublime- incredibly light, flavorful and not over sweet. The chilaquiles were also delicious (they confirmed that the refried beans were vegetarian, which we really appreciated). The vegan burger was massive, but somewhat underwhelming, the patty needed more seasoning and flavor. But it was extremely filling, well cooked and served with a generous serving of fries, and we appreciated having a vegan option in the area. Staff were attentive, kind and helpful. They also have a cute outdoor patio with tables, though we chose to sit inside because of the summer heat. Definitely check this place out when you are in the area! read more

I really wanted to love this place. My fiancé and I came here for dinner after a full day at Sequoia National Park (10 min up the road). We were promptly seated and got our drinks fairly quickly followed by our dinner order. The beer was warm but the mixed drinks were tasty. We then waited almost an hour for our food while watching everyone who came in behind us get theirs. The waitress didn't talk to us at all while we were waiting. When the food did come out, our appetizers and entrees all at the same time, it was all cold. The food was very tasty, I was just so disappointed in the service. We had the bang bang shrimp, umami steak sandwich, grilled cheese, and the buck melt. The outdoor area was very nice overlooking the river. We had few dinner options and decided to give Ol' Buckaroo a glance. The menu is short and focused. Something for everyone and each menu item demonstrates a tad of creativity (korean chicken sandwich, caper vinaigrette) that is indicative of a chef who cares. The prices were fair and the garden looked nice so we sat down. We got a chicken sando, burger, and my girlfriend got a mimosa. The sando and burger came with a pile of fries; it was delicious and the fries were exactly what I wanted. The burger was classic and we both enjoyed. The mimosa tasted slightly of medicine. We came back the next day and ordered an italian sandwich and caesar salad w/chicken. The sandwich was good, with slightly dry bread that could have used a toast and came with high quality bagged kettle chips. My girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed the salad, which featured well-seasoned croutons and chicken. The meal was good, and our expectations were met. I doubt there is significantly better food in the area that reaches anywhere near the level of convenience as Ol Buckaroo.
