The food here is excellent. High quality like you'd expect at a high end place but with a relaxed friendly atmosphere where you're greeted by the owner who I'm pretty sure is also the chef. The outside patio is open for seating and all the staff is wearing masks and the seats are a comfortable distance from other patrons. We came here on a cold night after spending the day up on the mountain in the snow. They patio heaters going and it was quite comfortable even with the chilly weather . I can't say enough good things about that grilled cheese sandwich. It was possibly the best thing I've ever eaten. This patio set up with long benches and tables makes it feel like you're at a fun backyard kickback with really good food~ I highly recommend the "one heck of a spinach salad", waffle fries, and spice wings! The spinach salad is the perfect refresher salad. The waffle fries seasoning are like lays bbq chips but in crispy waffle form *chefs kiss*. The wings are saucy as they should be. We had dinner at this place. Their patio set up is the best. They have some misters to help with the heat. It helps a lot. The menu is pretty straightforward , no many options. We had their burger and it was delicious. Good size, good portion of fries. At 18 and change it felt pricey but I guess this is a touristic area and that is what they do. They also have an events patio, that they use as a waiting area till you get a table, they have a fireplace there, heaters and a TV. Everything is small with tricky parking situations plus it's so dark so early which adds to the funny ambiance- but we were able to be seated immediately and there are 7 of us. The menu is fairly small but I imagine it would be hard to do a large menu really well in the middle of a small town. Everything we got was delicious! We loved the burgers and chicken sandwich. My family and I spent a week up in Three Rivers for our annual family vacation. We were camping nearby, and wanted to swing in a give Ol Buckaroo a shot. The setup was very cool, and even with the hot day, it was nice and breezy/misty (but not too wet) out on the patio. We had a couple mimosa's and split some dishes - all of which were delicious. The server was great, not over the top attentive, but just casual and comfortable, which was great. After we finished, we sat there and finished our drink and had the chance to strike up conversation with a gentleman helping clean up (later found out to be the owner). Turns out he's from where were are from (Northern Ohio) and sat and chatted for awhile. He was great. If were were there longer, we'd have gone back a couple more times. Sadly, it was wayy to hot for our party to dine outside. I ordered the Chilaquiles, which was delicious! Even without the pulled pork that they had unfortunately ran out of when we visited. Service was good and fast. Our server was very attentive and nice. We arrived about half an hour before their lunch service closes, so they weren't too busy anymore. One of the best steaks I've had in my life! The drive up you can see the cows to attest to the freshness of this restaurant! I had my special cooked "medium rare" and it was honestly cooked to perfection. Then the glaze! My goodness the glaze is what sold me on this the second night to our visit of Sequoia National Park. Honestly, everything I had was quite good. The Coconut Habanero Chicken Wings were extremely delicious! 2 nights in a row we came back, and 2 nights in a row we gladly paid for our meal. The service and the food is quite up there. The funny thing is that a couple of nights ago, I celebrated with my friend at another steak house (dedicated steak house) called Northwoods Inn in Covina. Though the steak was cooked properly, the steak was under seasoned making it a bit more bland. And that steak was 15% more expensive than this steak! If you're visiting Sequoia National Park, and if you like food, I can't think of another place to dine than Ol' Buckaroo. The BEST place. We rented out the Ol Buckaroo for our wedding reception venue via Sequoia Weddings. The food was to die for. The setting and decorations were amazing. The river view is stunning. The owner Nicky and the bartenders and chefs were so incredibly kind and took excellent care of us. They even staged my guests' gifts that my Mom dropped off in the morning for us. Super disappointed by our experience here. We had dinner here on 5/31 as well as 6/1/24. We ordered their flavored sodas and immediately noticed both our drinks tasted differently from the previous day. My drink was a lavender/white peach, so there was a lot of flavor going on. It took me until halfway through to realize it was an alcoholic drink. I immediately let a waiter know who then communicated with our waitress. I was really disappointed by the way that they handled it. There are a slew of reasons why someone may not want an alcoholic drink (medical, pregnancy, addiction, sobriety, health, etc) and it was honestly handled very nonchalantly. The waitress didn't know what kind of heaviness this mistake caused, yet I got a few "I'm sorry about that" responses and the correct drink replaced. Honestly, if I made that mistake, I would be beside myself, profusely apologizing with empathy, and comping that entire meal. I'm not going into personal detail on what kind of impact this mistake had on me, but I will say that the way that it was responded to was majorly lacking empathy and repair. In my opinion, this was a huge mistake, and with some further thought, anyone could understand how costly of a mistake this could be. On the way up to Sequoia, we saw this diner and knew that's where we'd want to go for dinner. The table next to us, of two people, had THREE fried chicken sandwiches brought to their table, and that automatically changed the mind of those that we're going to order the burger. Basically, we killed everything. It was so delicious and very much needed after a long day at a beautiful National Park. The chicken wings' buffalo sauce had a nice, mild spice to it. The fried chicken in the sandwich is crispy and tender. Their organic basil strawberry homemade soda was also tasty. After fortuitously turning right, we ended up with one of the best meals we've had. Winners from the menu - the burger, spicy chicken wings, steak, even the caesar salad. But the best item of all was the strawberry basil soda. Easily one of the best drinks we've ever had. As the outdoor COVID-19 seating got busier the service got a bit slower, but no complaints from us.
