After a full day of hiking through the Kings Canyon and Sequoias National Park this is always the place to stop for great food, refreshing drinks and an amazing view.

Parking is a little tight but we manage to wait for someone to pull out. We were seated right away and was served almost immediately. Both the fish and chips and chili bake potato were excellent. The only thing I wish they can control is the flies flying around constantly is annoying. Otherwise if it is not too hot, we will definitely seat outside by the river.

Cute atmosphere. Food is not great . Had a mushroom burger with what looked like two canned mushrooms. Unseasoned patty . Service is on the slower side. Keep in mind on the menu they give you a 90 mins time limit to dine in. Hard to dine in the 90 mins when it takes 15 just for a server to come to the table. You get half of the tables meals before utensils , then by the time silverware is given the food is cold. Could be a great little spot even during the "slow season" if food and service was a little better.

food was pretty good. I have to say setting is absolutely beautiful, but the service was horrible. We cannot get a server to help us for a long time. The table next to us was also getting annoyed because they did not get service. I finally had to flag somebody down to get them to come over they tried to take our plates away when we were not even eat done eating. this is a good place to go but be prepared to sit for a while or ask for service.

Let's start with the best - food. I absolutely enjoyed eating at Riverview restaurant, everything came out hot, fully cooked and just with enough flavor. There was always enough cheese on the burger and potato and without a doubt - it will Melt. Butternut squash was creamy and hot too - perfect morning snack. Fish taco - big and crunchy. As for the vibe - how it goes from the name of the restaurant - there is a stunning river view from the outside patio on to the nature and a fast-paced river. Very enjoyable for nature enthusiasts who come to Sequoia to embrace as much of that spirit as possible. There is also a pool and a bar area available. When we came on Monday we were seated promptly and got the menu quickly. The waiting time for the food to come out was a little too long both times we came (20+ mins) but we enjoyed looking at the river in the meantime. Now the service - service was awesome from one of the ladies who was serving at the highest level. Checked a couple of times if we needed anything else, made sure we got our order fulfilled perfectly. And I am not sure but we had to ask for a check - if it's supposed to be like this or it was just forgotten. Anyway For a place that is so hard to get the goods to - good menu variety and on Tuesdays the even have some specials. I heard they host Dj nights and karaoke too Friday-Sunday. Excited to come back on my next trip to Sequoia!

TLDR: nice place to eat pre/post sequoia hike Food: 3.5/5 Atmosphere: 6/5 Service: 4 We came here on a Monday and it was (surprisingly) moderately full. Service took a while waiting in the front, but they were very nice and accommodating and nice. Shout out to our server (young girl with two nose piercings)! It is a delightful place, next to a small stream. Cool breeze blows over you (likely lower temperature due to stream), and you're surrounded by the beautiful nature while dining outside! Air is fresh, where you can literally SMELL the greenness (not very present in LA). The food is bland, particularly the chilli that wasn't very spicy or... spiced, but the buns were well grilled (slightly crispy) and buttery. It's hard to explain but it feels as if there is nothing wrong with execution, even great but the taste is just not there. It's not bad by any means. The fries were crispy and doesn't taste stale. I liked the mild raunch--maybe because it doesn't taste as strong as regular raunch (I don't like raunch). Also, the portions are MASSIVE; I wouldn't be able to finish even half of what they gave me. The price is certainly worth while. Personally was a fan of their Ginger Beer, Gosling brand (which is not on the menu). However, boyfriend thought it tasted like beer and disliked it. Keep in mind the expectations should usually be lowered for restaurants near national parks, so I'm not complaining too much. I probably wouldn't go here again, but I am a little picky about burgers and such. Definitely worth a visit just from the atmosphere

The restaurant and patio area look remodeled. More seating available. Nice friendly service. Food was good. We enjoy the drive there and back.

Thank god for River View Grill and Bar in Three Rivers as this was the only place in town that was open late for food and dining in. We were pleasantly surprised that we found this place and had an actual meal during our long weekend stay! We were staying in Three Rivers for our hiking trip to Sequoia and Kings Canyon, and like most towns outside of a national park, it's rural and small, so options are limited. That's the case for food here, too. We had a hard time trying to find places to eat that were open beyond 8pm and we were starving, given that we were hiking all day. But we saw River View Grill and Bar on our way back into town from the park, so noted to check it out the next day. Since it was a holiday weekend, the place was super busy. We waited for 40 minutes for a table for two as everyone was trying to eat here. But it's worth the wait since it's the only place open late and they have lots of food options, especially the massive burgers that sounded too good to pass up. My partner and I both ordered double cheese burgers with fries, and it was exactly what we needed after a day of exploring. In addition to massive burgers, they have salads, housemade chili, which we also tried and was our favorite item here, craft beers and deep fried appetizers. There's a large outdoor space that looks out to the river, hence, the namesake and there's a bar in the front area where you can play pool. I'm just happy that we didn't need to eat protein bars and deli meat like the other nights during our weekend. The burgers and chili were much-needed sustenance.

Props to the host and hostess for getting us a table by the water without a crazy long wait. The ambiance was amazing 5/5, the food was 1.5/5. The waitress forgot our zucchini sticks, which frankly wasn't that big of a deal as we had plenty of food. The views by the river are best in town and the live music was great. We shared some wings, and a chicken Swiss sandwich, both were honestly not good. The wings were mushy and just not good. The sandwich bun was stale and the fried chicken was just over breaded and overcooked. Hand a local beer which was good. The baked potatoes that are featured was okay, nothing crazy, served with a very basic salad. Worth going but don't expect much from the food from what all 4 of us thought.

Monday 4pm. Patio. Party of 3. Server was barely present, didn't know if there were any specials though she ended up being good. Buss staff and food runner did well. The food itself was decent. I've had worse burgers and I've had much better burgers. I guess they go for that over the top messy vibe. No real complaints though I hate crispy coated fries. Chicken wings were great. Mango lemonade not so great. The real winner here is the gorgeous view of the river. We would come back.

The food was amazing, and the French fries were so crispy. Yum ! Service we went on a Wednesday afternoon it was fast no wait. Refilled our waters, and everything was nice. The ambiance was nice and relaxing seeing the ducks and the birds. Overall 10/10

But there was something we had not considered, we were going to be going to a place that required us to be fresh and ready to receive the wonder of place by a lack and we only had the energy for an angry stop at a gas station. So this place I visited when I was tired and that kind of gunked up the experience. If I would have gone with more energy to fully open my eyes than this experience would have been wondrous. When I booked the reservation I did it because it was a place by a lake. I enjoy water front dining and I usually use an ocean for scenery and today I was in a place where I could use a large creek. And since I was not going with any specific expectations that lake hit me like a bucket of wow. I remember like seeing the mouth of the lake going down like actual rocks. Like I was seeing the waters that people raft on with commitment to the outdoors. It felt like I had traveled into a place where trees were purest, bird melodies were the only noise in town (besides the water running in the creek), and cabins belonged to those who called the mountains home. I was in a novel and for some reason I felt like it was written by Twain. And that is really what I can say about this place. That is mostly what I remember the beauty of the creek. I wanted to spend more time there, I could have walked it, they had like a lounge but I did not. But I do remember the forested view that went on, and the roaring, jagged leg being a central character other than that I have small things to say. I remember the salad being ok. Denise and I shared a dish, I can't remember why but we did not eat the whole thing. It was inherently bad. But this could have been an off night, or just not the dish of the place, and really you go here for the lake, and the food was great in some ways just not in this specific way. I went to this place a few weeks ago, and, if I had not make it clear I remember the experience of being with the lake. So go here for that experience and let the rest just fall into place.

That's when we spotted El Bandido -- a bright food truck with picnic tables and a beautiful view of the foothills. We stopped for a quick bite and ended up with a full-on feast: carne asada, adobada, and shrimp tacos, plus a couple of sopes. Everything was incredible -- the meats were seasoned perfectly, especially the adobada with its deep, smoky flavor. The sopes were thick, crispy on the outside, soft inside, and loaded with toppings. But the star of the show? The shrimp taco!! Hands down my favorite. It came with crispy fried cheese on the inside of the taco, sweet corn, avocado, and this smoky, creamy chipotle sauce that brought everything together. It was rich, savory, a little sweet, a little spicy -- absolute flavor bomb. The setting made it even better -- orange groves nearby, mountain air, and open sky. It felt like one of those magical roadside food moments you never forget. If you're headed to or from Sequoia National Park, this place is a must-stop!
