Cool pit stop for tourist to check out. Our experience was great. Stopped by more than once while we were around. THE BUGS THOUGH! Not sure if it was a one time thing or a season thing but I do NOT recommend outside sitting after sundown. My wife and I got SWARMED by these little green bugs ( obviously from the River ) the server didn't care too much about how bothering it was to have 10+ bugs on our food. Eventually we had to be asked to be moved in and thankfully we were. Funny part is that shortly after us, about 7-8 other tables from outside also moved in because of the bugs hahaha. They have a really nice outside patio overlooking the river. It was a little chilly but they had a lot of heaters. I had the Patty melt and upgraded to onion rings. The onion rings were really good. Crispy but not greasy. The patty melt was ok. The burger was great. The flavors were there. The bread was lightly grilled I guess. The bread was white bread and still soft which I thought was odd. You really can't beat the setup here! We sat outside on the patio, and the view of the river and the surrounding scenery is absolutely gorgeous. It makes for such a relaxing backdrop while you eat. I ordered the bacon swiss chicken sandwich with a side of curly fries, and it was perfect. Sometimes you just want a simple, straightforward meal, and this hit the spot. Everything was fresh, hot, and so tasty. To top it off, I had the mango tea, which was incredibly refreshing and the perfect choice for a warm day by the water. Cute atmosphere. Food is not great . Had a mushroom burger with what looked like two canned mushrooms. Unseasoned patty . Service is on the slower side. Keep in mind on the menu they give you a 90 mins time limit to dine in. Hard to dine in the 90 mins when it takes 15 just for a server to come to the table. You get half of the tables meals before utensils , then by the time silverware is given the food is cold. Couple night stay in Three Rivers. Must stop and have drinks and food at River View Grill & Bar. Sit in the patio and enjoy the river view. Misters on patio help cool from the summer heat. The hostess, Heaven, was extremely welcoming and showed us to the pet friendly area. Food selection is good. Lots of burgers to choose from . We opted for wings and loaded baked potato with a salad. Let's start with the best - food. I absolutely enjoyed eating at Riverview restaurant, everything came out hot, fully cooked and just with enough flavor. There was always enough cheese on the burger and potato and without a doubt - it will Melt. Butternut squash was creamy and hot too - perfect morning snack. Fish taco - big and crunchy. As for the vibe - how it goes from the name of the restaurant - there is a stunning river view from the outside patio on to the nature and a fast-paced river. Very enjoyable for nature enthusiasts who come to Sequoia to embrace as much of that spirit as possible. There is also a pool and a bar area available. When we came on Monday we were seated promptly and got the menu quickly. The waiting time for the food to come out was a little too long both times we came (20+ mins) but we enjoyed looking at the river in the meantime. Now the service - service was awesome from one of the ladies who was serving at the highest level. Checked a couple of times if we needed anything else, made sure we got our order fulfilled perfectly. And I am not sure but we had to ask for a check - if it's supposed to be like this or it was just forgotten. Anyway For a place that is so hard to get the goods to - good menu variety and on Tuesdays the even have some specials. I heard they host Dj nights and karaoke too Friday-Sunday. Service took a while waiting in the front, but they were very nice and accommodating and nice. Shout out to our server (young girl with two nose piercings)! It is a delightful place, next to a small stream. Cool breeze blows over you (likely lower temperature due to stream), and you're surrounded by the beautiful nature while dining outside! Air is fresh, where you can literally SMELL the greenness (not very present in LA). The food is bland, particularly the chilli that wasn't very spicy or... spiced, but the buns were well grilled (slightly crispy) and buttery. It's hard to explain but it feels as if there is nothing wrong with execution, even great but the taste is just not there. It's not bad by any means. The fries were crispy and doesn't taste stale. I liked the mild raunch--maybe because it doesn't taste as strong as regular raunch (I don't like raunch). Also, the portions are MASSIVE; I wouldn't be able to finish even half of what they gave me. The price is certainly worth while. Personally was a fan of their Ginger Beer, Gosling brand (which is not on the menu). However, boyfriend thought it tasted like beer and disliked it. Keep in mind the expectations should usually be lowered for restaurants near national parks, so I'm not complaining too much. Thank god for River View Grill and Bar in Three Rivers as this was the only place in town that was open late for food and dining in. We were pleasantly surprised that we found this place and had an actual meal during our long weekend stay! We were staying in Three Rivers for our hiking trip to Sequoia and Kings Canyon, and like most towns outside of a national park, it's rural and small, so options are limited. That's the case for food here, too. We had a hard time trying to find places to eat that were open beyond 8pm and we were starving, given that we were hiking all day. But we saw River View Grill and Bar on our way back into town from the park, so noted to check it out the next day. Since it was a holiday weekend, the place was super busy. We waited for 40 minutes for a table for two as everyone was trying to eat here. But it's worth the wait since it's the only place open late and they have lots of food options, especially the massive burgers that sounded too good to pass up. My partner and I both ordered double cheese burgers with fries, and it was exactly what we needed after a day of exploring. In addition to massive burgers, they have salads, housemade chili, which we also tried and was our favorite item here, craft beers and deep fried appetizers. There's a large outdoor space that looks out to the river, hence, the namesake and there's a bar in the front area where you can play pool. I'm just happy that we didn't need to eat protein bars and deli meat like the other nights during our weekend. The burgers and chili were much-needed sustenance. read more

Props to the host and hostess for getting us a table by the water without a crazy long wait. The ambiance was amazing 5/5, the food was 1.5/5. The waitress forgot our zucchini sticks, which frankly wasn't that big of a deal as we had plenty of food. The views by the river are best in town and the live music was great. We shared some wings, and a chicken Swiss sandwich, both were honestly not good. The wings were mushy and just not good. The sandwich bun was stale and the fried chicken was just over breaded and overcooked. Hand a local beer which was good. Nope. To set the stage, we were the only Asians in the resturant. We were seated outside but not in one of the river view seats. As the resturant emptied out since it was later at night and before we got our food. Four tables emptied out by the river. We politely asked if it was possible to move us to one of the river view tables b/c that was the only reason we were eating here (we didnt say this part) We mentioned we were out of town and would love a river view seat. We were told their was a waiting list so we couldn't be accommodated. Which is already not true b/c you can always just give the next folks on the list our seats if you want to and it wasnt too busy of a night. Still all of this turned out to be a big fat lie, since the tables were slowly filled 20 and 30 minutes later...so as people were trickling in instead of on a "waitlist". All the people who got seats by the river were white. The food is fine. Unmemorable. I ordered a salad with dressing on the side and they brought it to me fully dressed. I told them I had ordered it with dressing on the side and the dude was like so... do you want me to take it back? No shit bro, you got the order wrong, I told you it was wrong. What do you think? That because I'm an Asian woman Ill just tell you it's fine and eat my food drenched in dressing which i dont like, just cause you got it wrong? Our waitress was very lovely though and made up for most of the rest of it but if you're not white, consider not supporting them b/c they aren't inclusive and do discriminatory microagressive shit. The thing we noticed - which is rare - is that all the employees truly work as a team - from the host to the waiters - they help each other out. They offered our dog water. The food was, like I said, OK. We had the wedge and a chili cheese hotdog on Friday, which were good. On Sunday, I had the patty melt and my husband had the shrimp basket. They are located on the river & most tables have a river view. Outdoor seating is much closer but the window seating inside has good views too & we could enjoy the air conditioning on a hot June lunch. I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad & my wife enjoyed the Club Sandwich w/ side salad. My salad was covered with chicken (breaded, should have said grilled, my fault -still tasty) & mandarins oranges. The portion was definitely entree level. Service was attentive even though they were really busy. Our drink glasses stayed filled. Haven't read other reviews but our experience was great. Called to ask if I could order for pickup. They replied they are no longer taking orders for pickup for the day at 730pm. Asked if we could show up and order takeout and they said yes. Took over an hour of waiting for burgers and a caesar salad. No warning or communication that it would take this long. They said an hour is the normal wait time. I ordered the Mountain Man Burger and it was a monster in the best way. A thick, juicy Angus patty topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, crispy onions, and BBQ sauce. Every bite was packed with smoky, savory flavor. I paired it with their onion rings, which were crispy and golden easily some of the best I've had in a while. My wife tried the Pastrami & Swiss Melt perfectly grilled with gooey cheese and tender pastrami on toasted sourdough. It was rich, satisfying, and clearly made with care. The fries were seasoned well and had that perfect balance of crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. For the kids, we got the Mini Corn Dogs from the "Wee Ones" menu. They were a hit--crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and just the right portion. Plus, it came with more of those delicious fries and a dipping sauce. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the food came out hot and fresh. The casual, family-friendly atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Typical American food, the food was good overall but won't knock your socks off. The main point of interest is the kaweah river running adjacent to the out door patio. There is a bar inside and some tables if you'd rather not be outdoors. There is also a beer garden to the side where you can hang out and sip your drink and enjoy natures splendor. Wait times are pretty long. We waited 45 minutes. However, once you get seated the service and food are quick. Our waitress was very sweet. My club sandwich was good quality and overall a solid choice. My favorite part of it all was just being next to the river, it was a relaxing experience. Chris the manager on Friday 4/3/2026am, was very rude and unaccommodating to us... we have just been seated at a table, when we noted a table that was available with a view of the river, for our 4 year old granddaughter to experience... we asked to move to that table, and was denied by the manager, with a statement of once you're seated at a table that's it!! I am rating this place based on the area. There isn't a whole lot of dining options in Three Rivers. This place has a large seating area with a nice view of a river. I liked the atmosphere. It was cozy and wasn't too noisy. The cheeseburgers are decent. Not like the gourmet burgers you will find in Los Angeles, but definitely pretty good for a bar burger. They said that they make their patties there but I thought it tasted like a regular normal hamburger patty to me. The curly fries are quite oily and I would not recommend them. I stayed in Three Rivers for 3 days and this place was about average for the area. You're probably going to be really hungry since I imagine a lot of people are hiking all day long in Sequoia National Park. read more
