As the years went on I was a little wary of giving them that recommendation since it's been so long since I've been there...but good to know it's still just as amazing 8 years later. They have updated the interiors and there is plenty of seating both inside and outside the sandwich shop. We opted to sit outside so that we could see the river (even though it was 90+ degrees...but in the shade it was a cool 85 degrees) Gourmet Green 5/5 turkey, creamy almond cilantro jalapeno spread (not spicy to me) kind of reminded me of the green goddess sauce, red onion, roasted red pepper, havarti and spinach. Everything just worked beautifully and it basically felt like eating a salad. Blue Cheese Potato Salad 4/5 I wanted this to be more blue cheesy, but it was still pretty tasty. Though when my bf tasted this, he said it was really blue cheesey so maybe I just want it to be way more intense tasting. I've had over half a dozen different sandwiches and quesadillas at this establishment and it never disappoints. Always fresh and consistent not to mention world renowned. I felt so lucky finding this place after a trip to Sequoia. We weren't sure where to eat but this place had a packed parking lot and we thought that was a good sign. Indeed, it was a good sign. Can you have a favorite place even if you've only visited once?? We tried the Hollywood tremor (turkey and bacon on grilled ciabatta) and the bullseye (roast beef on grilled ciabatta) as well as the dilly potato salad. Everything was excellent. There is a reason this place has such high ratings....easily 5/5 stars across the board. The food was incredible. I ordered the Vegetarian Franko, and wow... it was so delicious. The flavors came together in the best way. The artichoke, pepperoncini, and Italian dressing complemented each other perfectly and made every bite exciting. I also tried the dilly red potato salad, which is honestly one of the top three potato salads I've ever had. Service was friendly and fast, which made the experience even better. I love the muffuletta and my husband loves the Hollywood Tremor. I also tried the Tom this visit and I enjoyed it, although I think there was too much sun-dried tomato which overpowered the flavor of the goat-cheese herb spread, which I was hoping to taste more of. For today's meal, my wife and I deviated and tried their buffalo bill and bullseye sandwiches. The buffalo bill had perfectly grilled chicken with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and plenty of pesto. All on a warm and crunchy Kaiser roll. The bullseye didn't disappoint, it hit the mark. Just the right amount of beef, the right amount of horseradish with all the fresh veggies to go with it. Their soup was good, full of veggies and nicely cooked grains. Only complaint was the acidity of the soup did not complement the veggies well in my opinion. I received a call years ago from a friend who had seen a sub shop in Three Rivers was on a Yelp "top 100" list of places to eat. So, when Suzanne suggested getting a sandwich here, I was interested to see what was offered. We walked in at 11:20am and the place was already busy. Suzanne pointed to the "Special of the week" on the wall mounted menu. The "Southern Stinker" was intriguing. A few people in line ahead of us and four people behind the counter. We ordered two of those and a pomegranate lemonade. For a small town like Three Rivers to have such business on a Saturday was really surprising. The Candy store, sure. But a sandwich shop? Staff was friendly but focused. Serious about their work. We found a small table tucked into an alcove and waited for our number to be called. The pomegranate lemonade was just the right mix of sweet and tart. The sandwich was unbelievable. I don't have a sophisticated palate - yet was amazed at the flavors in this sandwich. Sierra Subs was hands down the best meal I had during my four days in Three Rivers, CA. I ordered one of their signature sandwiches, The Bullseye--house-made horseradish mayo, roast beef, roasted red peppers, red onion, Havarti cheese, and spinach on fresh ciabatta. It's a perfectly named sandwich because it was absolutely on point. My wife ordered the Turkey Cranberry Salad with smoked turkey, pecans, red onion, cranberries, Swiss cheese, and a made-from-scratch honey mustard vinaigrette. Well this was super overrated.... Don't get me wrong 10/10 location and views, but beyond that it's a subpar, overpriced sandwich shop with grumpy staff. I ordered the gourmet green, my wife got the buffalo bill. Both sandwiches had almost no meat on them. It was all bread vegetables and sauce. My wife is Australian and had asked what a Kaiser roll was (not ever hearing that word in her life) and the woman was super rude and spoke to my wife like she was dumb and finally just held up a roll and just said "this." So that wasn't cool. ALSO, I'm from NY and know exactly what a real Kaiser roll is and Sierra Subs does NOT have Kaiser rolls--they are using a potato hamburger bun at best. After ordering the wait wasn't long, but while waiting I had a pregnancy craving for pickles so I had asked for a side of pickles and had to get back in line to be charged $0.50 for the tiniest cup of the soggiest pickles ever. This is a great stop when entering or leaving sequoia national park. There's not a large amount of parking available in front so you might want to get there early. The inside of the shop is fairly long and there's an outdoor patio in the back with amazing views of the river and mountains. The sandwiches are reasonably priced and very fresh and delicious. The menu is extensive and creative. And there are several vegetarian options. It was so hard to choose, usually I'm offered cheese sandwich or egg salad. I got the vegetarian stinger. So flavorful! I didn't notice any "sting" from wasabi, but I didn't care. We came very close to closing, but the workers were still nice and welcoming. Sometimes people will grumble or turn you away if you arrive late, so we were happy to be treated the same as if we had arrived at noon. Order at the register and they give you a number, then call out your number when it's ready to pick up. It was a Tuesday late afternoon and they weren't too busy but there was a steady stream of people coming and going as I sat and ate my sandwich. Best eaten fresh as I saved half for a few hours later and by then the bottom roll had gotten wet/soggy (but I'm not really complaining because it was still so tasty!). We have been excited to try this place since we read the reviews months ago. We went in on a Friday for lunch. It was a little busy so we hung back and checked out the menu. I decided to order the roast beef sandwhich and my husband got The Franko and we decided to share a chicken bacon salad. First off upon entering there was absolutely zero welcome, which set the tone for me. When we ordered the guy taking our order seemed more annoyed than anything. We ordered and waited. While waiting I noticed a lot of eye rolling, complaining amongst eachother and just a general bad vibe from the staff. That day it was 1 guy and 3 women. When we got our food there wasn't even a thank you or anything, being a small business owner myself- courtesy definantly counts. We went outside on the lower deck to eat. The view is absolutely beautiful. The food however was crazy disappointing. My sandwich was VERY dry so I added a packet of mayo & mustard- There was supposed to be a horseradish spread on it which was non existant, and the roastbeef itself tasted processed and totally flavorless. My husband and I traded sandwiches bc I didnt like mine at all. While his looked like it would be delicious it also was very bland. They piled it full of tasteless lettuce and the other ingredients just got lost. His sandwich also was dry and lacking any flavor at all. The only part we enjoyed on either sandwhich was the marinated artichokes they put in my husbands sandwhich, but there were maybe 6 total- I literally took the sandwich apart to eat them. The chicken on the salad tasted off- maybe old but also not seasoned or good at all. The ranch was also very mediocre. . Neither of us finished our food and we left still hungry. IMO This place is totally overrated. 3R is lacking good food options. I would reccomend Totem Mkt sandwhiches and customer service over this place anyday. Came in today for lunch with two toddlers right before a huge rush came in. Ample seating, clean restaurant, and the menu was fantastic. The parking is right in front right off the road and attached to to their stores. I got the Green goodness sandwich which was very fresh and light. Loved the toasted bread. Husband and friends got the caprese salad which comes with pesto dressing and the cheese and everything in there was really fresh and crisp. Friend got the manwich which was packed. He said he felt manlier as he ate it lol. We also got a vegetarian quesadilla with no olives which can come with spinach tortilla which was a hit with the babes!
