We went to Braised tonight and, admittedly, we haven't been there in a few years. Not because of anything negative--it just hasn't been one of the places that comes to mind when we're deciding where to eat. Well, after tonight, that's going to change. We started by sharing the wedge salad. I am a blue cheese girl, and this blue cheese was BLUE CHEESE. Rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I could have happily made a meal out of that alone. We also ordered the calamari, which came with two dipping sauces. One was a sweet and sour-style nuoc cham sauce that was incredible. The other was a fresh, flavorful tartar sauce. The calamari itself was prepared perfectly--light, crispy, not oily at all, and cooked just right. For dinner, I had the pistachio-crusted salmon over vegetable quinoa. The salmon was excellent. The quinoa was good, but probably just not my personal style. My husband ordered the pork chop with polenta, and wow--both were fantastic. That polenta was especially memorable. We sat at a table in the bar area (that's our vibe), and we had the pleasure of being served by Orlando, a newer bartender. He was outstanding. From the moment we sat down, we felt welcomed and genuinely taken care of. He introduced us to a mezcal that complemented our meals perfectly and was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Top-notch customer service. This isn't an inexpensive everyday dinner spot, but the quality of the food, drinks, and service made it absolutely worth it. We had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back. If you haven't been to Braised lately, go check it out--and if you're lucky enough to have Orlando take care of you, you're in for a great evening. read more

Made reservations online for lunch here! The inside is very welcoming and nice. Definitely feels like your transported to a big city and definitely not Tulare. We picked to sit at the bar area, the booth padding is very comfortable. The bar is nice and filled with all the liquors you can dream of. Our server was very friendly. I ordered the tri tip sandwich with fries; I had to pick off a few pieces of fat, but other than that was good. The roll held the sandwich together very well. My mom ordered the hanger steak sandwich, she said the meat was very tender , and she ordered the onion rings. If you like blueberry, try the blueberry soda, it's different but very good! read more

A+++++ So delicious!! Ok hear me out! I am from Tulare and when Braised first opened my husband and I went a few times and I we didn't love it! Food and service just didn't quite meet our expectations for a date night. HOWEVER.... We've gone twice recently after a very long hiatus and had a completely different experience.. it was so much better! The food is so unique and delicious...service great, and the drinks were superb as well! I travel a lot, always look on Yelp for the best restaurants and am definitely a picky foodie! Braised is up there with the best food I've eaten in Vegas, LA, SF etc!! YUM. Anyway- I just want to say if you've tried it before and didn't love it...go back and try again! Great vibe, attentive service and yummmmmmy food. read more

A Central Valley gem located in Tulare, CA.... I'm an independent meeting planner and was contracted to assist a pharmaceutical company education dinner program in May 2026 at Braised Kitchen; I had never heard of the restaurant until this assignment. I was on the clock that night so I didn't have dinner but I was impressed with the restaurant set up (especially for meeting/special events) and the staff service, and made a note to myself to come back on my own time for the dining experience. Fast forward four months and my daughter and I decided to take a relatively short road trip down the 99 to Tulare and Braised Kitchen for dinner on a Saturday evening (9/12/26). It was well worth the drive as the food, service and atmosphere did not disappoint. For dinner, I had the beet salad to start and the pistachio-crusted salmon served on a bed of vegetable quinoa for my entree. My daughter had the wedge salad and pasta dish (Cacio e Pepe) for her entree; we also ordered the focaccia bread which was fresh, garlicky and delicious (served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping). For dessert, the daughter and I shared a generous slice of carrot cake which was also yummy. There's also a full bar (we didn't order any wine or cocktails). Our server (Dina) was pleasant and attentive, as was the manager (Sherrie) who was buzzing around ensuring water glasses were kept full. If you live within a 50 mile radius of Tulare and looking for something other than the faire that's offered at Applebee's or Chili's, I highly recommend Braised Kitchen in Tulare. read more

Very pleasant dinner. The suggested wine was delicious. But the burger with bacon jam was out of this world! Along with the onion rings. I'm already planning when we can come back. Excellent experience. read more

Came here to celebrate our anniversary and enjoyed a lovely dinner. The space was very cute inside and truly felt like home. The food was delicious--compliments to the cooks for such wonderful, tasty dishes. The service was good, though there was room for improvement. Our drinks weren't topped off as often as expected, and I had to wait a while for more water. When I ordered another drink, it also took some time to arrive. Overall, we had a nice experience and the food really stood out. I'm looking forward to coming back to try brunch. read more

Enjoyed a dinner at Braised for the first time while celebrating a family member's birthday. Ambiance was 10/10! Such a cute place to relax and enjoy a meal. Our server was very attentive and provided good recommendations. The salmon was delicious, and the bread pudding is my new favorite dessert! read more

First time dining at braised kitchen and we cannot wait to go back. Reservations for 7:30pm. Arrived and were greeted and seated immediately. The host was an absolute delight. You can absolutely tell when someone takes pride in their job especially being the first one customers see. We were seated next to the kitchen window which was a bonus for me. The restaurants atmosphere it's basically a high end farmhouse chic. Very cozy, but very nice. The restaurant and the bathrooms were spotless. Our server was amazing and we never went without anything. Checked on us frequently. We started off with the surf and turf. It was lovely. I feel it could have used more glaze.for entree I ordered the short rib with hatch chile polenta and my husband ordered the ribeye with the Yukon mash Both were excellent. I have been thinking about the short rib and polenta all day today. For dessert we had the apple cobbler and and espresso tini. The cobbler was so delicious. The espresso tini was not my favorite. It was very watery. We will definitely be back. read more

I was promised on here a full refund after sharing my horrible experience in dining . I even was asked to provide the last 4 digits of the credit card used to pay for the meal. It has now been over a full week and no refund has appeared. It's unfortunate that this was promised for all to see with no actual follow through. read more

Nice ambience, attentive staff, and excellent food. It wasn't noisy on a not-busy Thursday night, thought it could be if full, with the polished concrete floors. We had the wedge salad, surf and turf (sirloin, shrimp, and quinoa) and risotto (seasonal toppings - ours was mushrooms). All were well prepared. Portions are small, but that's fine with quality food, as well as a little friendlier to the waistline. For dessert, we shared a fresh-baked and crusty bread pudding with chocolate woven in and a delicious sauce with a scoop of ice cream, a coffee, and a mocha coffee. All were very good. We offered two menu suggestions at the server's encouragement. One was a fish dish - the only seafood on the menu was shrimp, and my fish-loving husband is allergic. She said they have a a fish special every week but had run out. The other suggestion was a chocolate dessert - it's very surprising to have none except the little bit of chocolate in the bread pudding In its absence, I settled for a few bites of my husband's bread pudding. My 5-star rating is for Tulare, where this is definitely one of the nicer options. In an area with many of them, I'd probably give 4, but still a positive review. A worthwhile spot for a nice meal. read more

All in the service and atmosphere were excellent. Very glad that we chose to go there for dinner.

What a phenomenal restaurant. The service was great!! Our waitress and bus girl were both very sweet and helpful. The drinks tasted great and the food was amazing. So happy we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant located in Tulare that happens to be very gluten-free friendly! We ended up sitting at the bar and Jeremiah took care of us and he was absolutely amazing! Gave great recommendations and was very attentive. I am so happy that this place exists here in Tulare since they also have gluten-free fried calamari, and a lot of the dishes could be modified to be gluten-free, including their fries and their dessert! Jeremiah's drinks were also ON POINT! He also went completely above and beyond and make sure all of our drinks were to our liking and food came out great. 10/10 experience, would highly recommend and will definitely be back! read more

The food is delicious. Love the pork chop and their chicken and waffles. The place itself looks very nice and homely. The staff is always greeting everyone with a smile and a great attitude. The owner or I think she is the owner is so nice and welcoming. This is great place to have a lovely dinner for two. They do have a small kid selection incase you have the kids with you. But overall, the food is excellent, good service, and a great attitude. Highly recommend for dinner. Just recently found out they now serve lunch. So I have to try it soon. read more

Very expensive for what you get. Not the best food but for what Tulare offers, might be your best choice. But, you won't see me traveling to Tulare in any regard to come eat here. However, it's not anything less than 3 stars. 3 stars is the moderate level- show us mind blowing with service, food, and above all- price. Then you get higher ratings. read more

1st off let's talk service, from the front door till we sat down, what a very warm welcome. The lady was so nice. We started at the bar/lounge area, seating is comfortable and sports are showing. Drinks especially the blueberry spritzer that Jeremiah made was so refreshing. Dining area is so homey and nicely decorated! Food was good especially the seasonal salad that the husband and I split, very good mixture of greens and slight dressing. We had the braised beef and burger that was perfectly cooked and seasoned to our liking. Dessert which is the bread pudding is different in a nice way, not too sweet! To add, we were just passing by the area! So we found a nice restaurant to stop by whenever we're near the location or passing by read more

I have wanted to dine here for quite sometime and I will say I was so happy we finally were able to make it out and have a wonderful dinner. We did arrive early, and only the bar was open. My husband and I had our baby with us and were about to leave but they kindly let us sit in the dining area. The food was delicious! The surf and turf was a great starter I'd say this a must for anyone coming it! Everything else that followed was just as amazing! My stuffed chicken was so yummy very juicy and flavorful. My husband's beef short rib was also cooked to perfection. Desserts were great! I had the marshmallow flourless cake and my husband had a lemon cheesecake with meringue both were delicious. We definitely did not finish dessert we were so stuffed from dinner, but wanted to try out two different desserts. I also had an old fashioned which was delightful! I really enjoyed it. The service was outstanding! Water glasses were always filled, and food was served to perfection. There is also a small event banquet room for private dinners which is a plus. I will definitely be back! read more

First time on a busy Friday night. Shout out to our server who was doubling as a back up bar tender. We had a reservation but ended up eating at the bar as the restaurant was insanely busy. I stopped by the Braised Kitchen today for dinner and I have to say man, I wish I discovered this place earlier. Yes somewhat pricey, but this is a high end place with some very good food. The service is spectacular. Everything about this restaurant is incredible. Worth every penny. I have to say I think this place has an upper hand on Elderwood and I think this is the best high end restaurant in the center valley. I will be going back. read more

We visited Braised Kitchen in Tulare to celebrate birthdays for both, my wife and her mom. Given its reputation as one of the top-tier restaurants in the area, we were expecting something special. Unfortunately, what we got was a textbook example of why presentation alone doesn't carry a meal. Let's start with the positives--the ambiance was charming and the service was exactly what you'd hope for: professional, attentive, and warm. The server did their part. The kitchen, however, did not. Every dish we tried--from my salmon to my kids' meals, to my wife's short ribs--missed the mark. The salmon had a promising sear that got me excited at first glance, but one bite in, and it was all downhill: dry, overcooked, and lifeless on the inside. My wife's short ribs were no better--dry, unseasoned, and overwhelmed by a greasy aftertaste that made it hard to finish even half the plate. I sampled son's cheese pizza and was genuinely surprised at how a dish so simple could have zero flavor. It wasn't just mild--it was flavorless. My daughter's fried chicken and fries were the only thing remotely passable, and even then, we're talking basic fried food. It's frustrating because the plating looked good. The environment had promise. But when a restaurant claims to be top-tier, the food has to back that up. Braised Kitchen talks the talk with its presentation and vibe--but based on our experience, the kitchen isn't walking the walk. Disappointing. We won't be back. read more

Came here because my friend has a severe glutton allergy and from last time we came we had a great experience and a lot of options for her to choose from. This time, their menu had gotten smaller and the options were not as good as before. The waitress was extremely nice though and the service was good. We got the antipasto board, my husband got the ribeye since they no longer have the fillet anymore due to cost from what we were told. The ribeye was just not it he said. It was very tough. Another friend got the chicken soup which he said was really good, but the portion was extremely small for a dinner size. The remaining of us opted for the margarita pizza which was good. Our drinks were good as we got raspberry lemon drops. Overall not sure if we would come back again because the options were not worth the drive as we don't live in Tulare. read more

Took my brother there for his birthday. Cool spot overall. Not too sure on price point but take that as you will.

We had a dinner reservation and were greeted quickly upon arrival. There were a few tables with other customers and the service was good and the food even better. The accompanying brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes were the perfect pairing. I wish I would have took a picture of our food but only got a quick video. We got two ribeye plates, a pork chop plate and a lasagna for dinner. To drink I had a raspberry lemon drop which was delicious. We also had a lemon crème brûlée and a piece of their carrot cake. Both were good and not overly sweet. The ambiance was quiet and yet inviting. Once we finished our meal and were about to leave we were approached by Julie who stated her son was the chef and asked how our experience was. We told her we had a good time and enjoyed the food. Which then turned into an impromptu tour of the different areas of the restaurant close to closing time. So I took a few pictures. She was friendly, informative and took pride in the restaurant. It was a great interaction with her. Through that I learned that not only the Women's restroom but the men's restroom also had changing tables for the babies. On the plus side for moms and dads they provide extra supplies in case you forget some. Appears they are family/kid friendly. Definitely check them out and support your local businesses. read more

I was quite impressed by this new restaurant in Tulare. A co-worker of mine has been telling me great things about this restaurant. So on a Thursday night I decided to try. We originally were just going for drinks but it turned into a great time. The atmosphere is very scale county chic. On this visit, we were in the bar, which consists of high top tables and big screen tvs, making it an excellent place to watch the game. The bartender was very attentive and quickly brought us the menus. One thing I found very interesting that is not mentioned is that this restaurant is farm to table fresh with an emphasis on low suger and low inflammatory foods. They insist they want the food to be very healthy, but make you feel good. For my drink, I had had the jalapeno fresca which was spicy yet strong. My second drink was the raspberry cider which was fairy tasty without a strong hops flavor. Fresh fried potato chips are delivered hot to your table after you order. I ordered that Halibut Agua Chiles which reminded me of a ceviche. The flavor profile was excellent. The rest of the table ordered different items. There was an order of the surf and turf, which consisted of a thick cut piece of pork belly with a lightly grilled shrimp. My friend ordered the short rib brasied birria taco on freashy made blue corn tortillas. These were all appetizers, but they were very shareable plates. Once the meals were completed. We all decided to get the smore for dessert, which I highly recommend. The smore was very creamy and the brownie cookie smothered with chocolate is something dreams are made of. The evening started to get late, and the cool evening had me chilly. But surprisingly, the bartender was able to provide me with a blanket which kept the night going a bit longer. Overall, I thought this was an amazing place and I would definitely be back, especially knowing that they serve brunch on Sundays. read more

What a great find! And we found our favorite bartender was here too! Thanks Elliot for the Fantastic service and everything we ate was delicious. Excited to go back to try more of their offerings. We sat in the bar area and it was fun to watch all the action behind the bar as they made their handcrafted cocktails (I had their raspberry one on the menu) and watch the busy kitchen. They brought us a complimentary big bowl of thinly sliced-perfectly crisp potato chips...so yummy! I had the French onion soup & the beet salad and spouse had salmon cakes appetizer (3 large cakes with crispy coating + tartar sauce...so thankful he shared one with me) and salmon dinner. We ordered the tiramisu and lemon tart for dessert. I felt the prices were very fair for the quantity and quality of food and service we received. This was our 1st time at Braised in Tulare. In short, we were a little disappointed with the very limited menu selections and the smaller portions at premium prices. The menu in the restaurant is a small portion of what is advertised online. What we ordered and received was prepared perfectly and we all enjoyed it. Service was slow and average. Again, for the price you pay a reasonable person would expect larger portions, more selections, and better service attention. Probably won't revisit. read more
