We went to Braised tonight and, admittedly, we haven't been there in a few years. Not because of anything negative--it just hasn't been one of the places that comes to mind when we're deciding where to eat. Well, after tonight, that's going to change. We started by sharing the wedge salad. I am a blue cheese girl, and this blue cheese was BLUE CHEESE. Rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I could have happily made a meal out of that alone. We also ordered the calamari, which came with two dipping sauces. One was a sweet and sour-style nuoc cham sauce that was incredible. The other was a fresh, flavorful tartar sauce. The calamari itself was prepared perfectly--light, crispy, not oily at all, and cooked just right. For dinner, I had the pistachio-crusted salmon over vegetable quinoa. The salmon was excellent. The quinoa was good, but probably just not my personal style. My husband ordered the pork chop with polenta, and wow--both were fantastic. That polenta was especially memorable. We sat at a table in the bar area (that's our vibe), and we had the pleasure of being served by Orlando, a newer bartender. He was outstanding. From the moment we sat down, we felt welcomed and genuinely taken care of. He introduced us to a mezcal that complemented our meals perfectly and was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Top-notch customer service. This isn't an inexpensive everyday dinner spot, but the quality of the food, drinks, and service made it absolutely worth it. We had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back. Food and service just didn't quite meet our expectations for a date night. HOWEVER.... We've gone twice recently after a very long hiatus and had a completely different experience.. it was so much better! The food is so unique and delicious...service great, and the drinks were superb as well! I travel a lot, always look on Yelp for the best restaurants and am definitely a picky foodie! First time dining at braised kitchen and we cannot wait to go back. Reservations for 7:30pm. Arrived and were greeted and seated immediately. The host was an absolute delight. You can absolutely tell when someone takes pride in their job especially being the first one customers see. We were seated next to the kitchen window which was a bonus for me. The restaurants atmosphere it's basically a high end farmhouse chic. Very cozy, but very nice. The restaurant and the bathrooms were spotless. Our server was amazing and we never went without anything. Checked on us frequently. We started off with the surf and turf. It was lovely. I feel it could have used more glaze.for entree I ordered the short rib with hatch chile polenta and my husband ordered the ribeye with the Yukon mash Both were excellent. I have been thinking about the short rib and polenta all day today. For dessert we had the apple cobbler and and espresso tini. The cobbler was so delicious. The espresso tini was not my favorite. I Just had a horrible experience for what was supposed to be a special occasion dinner with my family. I've received better service at Chilis. For the menu prices they should be ashamed. Not only did the food take extremely long to bring out, but the bread on our 2 French onion soups were burnt partially black (As was the tables next to us and they sent theirs back). That should've been the first sign the rest of the evening was going downhill (along with with it being a Friday night and the place was a quarter full). They brought out one entree. Then maybe 5 min later another. Half of the table received their meal while the rest of us waited (legitimately around 15 min). I waited so long that everyone else was finished eating when they tried to serve me my pizza and when it arrived you could tell it was rushed and undercooked. I asked them to box it up because I was not wasting more time sitting there eating after 90 min of sitting there, We were apologized to and asked how they can make it right. At this point as a restaurant touting a high end experience you should know how to make it right without forcing me to beg for a free meal. Instead they took only the undercooked pizza off the bill . The entire meal was ruined for everyone at the table and comping a personal pizza on a $200+ bill was a joke yet apparently their version of "making it right". You would think after the apology that would be the end of it? Nope, we then had to flag down someone to ask for the bill. There will be no need to ever go back again nor recommend anybody else dine there either. read more

Nice ambience, attentive staff, and excellent food. It wasn't noisy on a not-busy Thursday night, thought it could be if full, with the polished concrete floors. We had the wedge salad, surf and turf (sirloin, shrimp, and quinoa) and risotto (seasonal toppings - ours was mushrooms). All were well prepared. Portions are small, but that's fine with quality food, as well as a little friendlier to the waistline. For dessert, we shared a fresh-baked and crusty bread pudding with chocolate woven in and a delicious sauce with a scoop of ice cream, a coffee, and a mocha coffee. All were very good. We offered two menu suggestions at the server's encouragement. One was a fish dish - the only seafood on the menu was shrimp, and my fish-loving husband is allergic. She said they have a a fish special every week but had run out. The other suggestion was a chocolate dessert - it's very surprising to have none except the little bit of chocolate in the bread pudding In its absence, I settled for a few bites of my husband's bread pudding. My 5-star rating is for Tulare, where this is definitely one of the nicer options. In an area with many of them, I'd probably give 4, but still a positive review. So happy we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant located in Tulare that happens to be very gluten-free friendly! We ended up sitting at the bar and Jeremiah took care of us and he was absolutely amazing! Gave great recommendations and was very attentive. I am so happy that this place exists here in Tulare since they also have gluten-free fried calamari, and a lot of the dishes could be modified to be gluten-free, including their fries and their dessert! I have wanted to dine here for quite sometime and I will say I was so happy we finally were able to make it out and have a wonderful dinner. We did arrive early, and only the bar was open. My husband and I had our baby with us and were about to leave but they kindly let us sit in the dining area. The food was delicious! The surf and turf was a great starter I'd say this a must for anyone coming it! Everything else that followed was just as amazing! My stuffed chicken was so yummy very juicy and flavorful. My husband's beef short rib was also cooked to perfection. Desserts were great! I had the marshmallow flourless cake and my husband had a lemon cheesecake with meringue both were delicious. Let's start with the positives--the ambiance was charming and the service was exactly what you'd hope for: professional, attentive, and warm. The server did their part. The kitchen, however, did not. Every dish we tried--from my salmon to my kids' meals, to my wife's short ribs--missed the mark. The salmon had a promising sear that got me excited at first glance, but one bite in, and it was all downhill: dry, overcooked, and lifeless on the inside. My wife's short ribs were no better--dry, unseasoned, and overwhelmed by a greasy aftertaste that made it hard to finish even half the plate. I sampled son's cheese pizza and was genuinely surprised at how a dish so simple could have zero flavor. It wasn't just mild--it was flavorless. My daughter's fried chicken and fries were the only thing remotely passable, and even then, we're talking basic fried food. It's frustrating because the plating looked good. The environment had promise. But when a restaurant claims to be top-tier, the food has to back that up. Braised Kitchen talks the talk with its presentation and vibe--but based on our experience, the kitchen isn't walking the walk. Disappointing. We won't be back. read more

This time, their menu had gotten smaller and the options were not as good as before. The waitress was extremely nice though and the service was good. We got the antipasto board, my husband got the ribeye since they no longer have the fillet anymore due to cost from what we were told. The ribeye was just not it he said. It was very tough. We got two ribeye plates, a pork chop plate and a lasagna for dinner. To drink I had a raspberry lemon drop which was delicious. We also had a lemon crème brûlée and a piece of their carrot cake. Both were good and not overly sweet. The ambiance was quiet and yet inviting. Once we finished our meal and were about to leave we were approached by Julie who stated her son was the chef and asked how our experience was. We told her we had a good time and enjoyed the food. Which then turned into an impromptu tour of the different areas of the restaurant close to closing time. So I took a few pictures. She was friendly, informative and took pride in the restaurant. It was a great interaction with her. Through that I learned that not only the Women's restroom but the men's restroom also had changing tables for the babies. I was quite impressed by this new restaurant in Tulare. A co-worker of mine has been telling me great things about this restaurant. So on a Thursday night I decided to try. We originally were just going for drinks but it turned into a great time. The atmosphere is very scale county chic. On this visit, we were in the bar, which consists of high top tables and big screen tvs, making it an excellent place to watch the game. The bartender was very attentive and quickly brought us the menus. One thing I found very interesting that is not mentioned is that this restaurant is farm to table fresh with an emphasis on low suger and low inflammatory foods. They insist they want the food to be very healthy, but make you feel good. For my drink, I had had the jalapeno fresca which was spicy yet strong. My second drink was the raspberry cider which was fairy tasty without a strong hops flavor. Fresh fried potato chips are delivered hot to your table after you order. I ordered that Halibut Agua Chiles which reminded me of a ceviche. The flavor profile was excellent. The rest of the table ordered different items. There was an order of the surf and turf, which consisted of a thick cut piece of pork belly with a lightly grilled shrimp. My friend ordered the short rib brasied birria taco on freashy made blue corn tortillas. These were all appetizers, but they were very shareable plates. Once the meals were completed. We all decided to get the smore for dessert, which I highly recommend. The smore was very creamy and the brownie cookie smothered with chocolate is something dreams are made of. The evening started to get late, and the cool evening had me chilly. But surprisingly, the bartender was able to provide me with a blanket which kept the night going a bit longer.
