Okay, look. First of all, they serve your soda in actual, full-sized mason jars. Which I am personally obsessed with, because nothing gives me a baseline level of panic quite like having to make awkward eye contact with a server every four minutes just to beg for a refill. I'm sorry, but if I am sitting down for Italian, table bread is not an optional courtesy--it is a fundamental human right. However... it was infuriatingly good. They make their own pasta fresh in-house, and the texture was honestly undeniable. My husband ordered the Margherita pizza, and he literally declared--with complete, uncharacteristic enthusiasm--that it was hands-down the best Margherita pizza he has ever gotten. So, massive points there. What was not a massive point, however, was the subterranean seating situation. We were escorted downstairs into the basement, which was pitch black. But more importantly: the stairs are completely unlit. I'm sorry, but they are actively asking to get sued. It is a litigious nightmare waiting to happen. Someone is going to take one wrong step in the dark, tumble down that staircase, and own the entire restaurant by next Tuesday. They are practically begging for a lawsuit. This is hands down the BEST food in Visalia! The only place I recommend to out of town visitors and where I take my family when they stop by. Brunch is by far the most delicious in the valley and a little slept on imo. Their breakfast flatbreads are cooked to perfection and frenxh toast is soo delicious. We made a reservation for 8:30, not knowing the restaurant closed at 9. The food took a while to come out. The server hardly checked on us and was rushing us out when we weren't even done with our food. It was our fault for not checking, but why would a restaurant have reservations available 30 minutes before closing and rush us out? Spaghetti is usually a safe go-to but this one missed the mark. Didn't take long to be seared down stairs but the place was full and very loud. Not a place to bring your family especially kids On a Friday night. The menu is small and simple not alot but I would say everything is probably delicious since it tastes authentic. To eat I had the Capelli D'Angelo with shrimp. This is such a simple and delicious tomato pasta made with San marzano tomatoes. The shrimp were also a delicious addition! My husband opt for something healthy and hearty so he got a beets salad and added beef to it. The salad was a nice blend of Smokey flavor from the beef, it has caramelized walnuts that's was a nice added texture and sweetness to the plate, and the beets were so good. The Bronze cut Pappardelle pasta was cooked to perfection the creamy alfredo sauce, with two cheeses (parmigiano reggiano & pecorino romano) with parsley in my opinion it could have used a little salt, but if that's the only complaint, it's fine. I would still order the dish again. The chicken Marsala included sautéed vegetables (cooked perfectly), the hand-cut pasta topped with mushrooms & a wine sauce, made this dish a favorite. The ribeye was 20oz with a red wine glaze the steak was ordered medium and it was served with tender potatoes, definitely a meat and potatoes lovers heaven!
