a variety of wine bottles on a counter

This place is right in Downtown Viselia. The moment you walk in you get hit with this cool Euro pub vibe. I can see myself come here for a drink after work. Today? Lunch. The bar tender was very attentive, get me seated and go my drink in no time. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. It came very fast. It is a nice piece of breast with deep grilled mark with sauce and grilled mushrooms. Lettuce, tomato, onions on the side. When I took my first bite, a nice charred flavor hit me. It is really well done. The side salad is a bed of fresh green, with light olive oil, and a blanket of parmigiana cheese. I would definitely recommend this place!

This is the most tender chicken dish you will ever eat!

I just love this place! It reminds me of a Speak Easy without the secret door! The chef is a master mixologist of any drink you can imagine & his sauces & flavors are so unique & will leave you craving everything enough you WILL be back! Like I said the ambiance reminds me of a Speak Easy & the dining is fancy & has a gourmet flair to each dish! Every drink & dish is made with such love & pride. They also have opened a morning cafe with mouth watering French pastries from the new bakery, Bread Savage across the street. You've gotta try both!

Blue cheese bacon burger with side salad & an IPA!

We came here for lunch on a Wednesday. The menu is really tiny, they have salad, soup, meatballs with bread, a burger and a few other items. The special was the bacon blue cheese burger, and that's what we tried. Unfortunately there are no fries, just bagged chips, side salad or potato salad. However, the meat in this burger was so unique and delicious! There had to be a 1/2lb Patty, so I'm glad we split it.. it was highly seasoned ( in a good way) juicy, and tender. I hate my burger well done, but it was so juicy that it didn't matter! We also tried 2 cocktails; the bjiou, and the bittered sling. Both were refreshingly unique flavor profiles. The bijou has a strong chartreuse backdrop, so only copse this one if you like chartreuse. It was nice & strong though... they don't go cheap on their cocktails here! The bittered sling is sweet, rich and the bitters really come through. The Space Dust IPA was in a cold glass ( I LOVE that detail), and we spired it with our delicious burger. Tate the owner came by and said hello, and Karina was our bartender. She was sweet & attentive. The lounge was relaxing and quiet, it was a perfect lunchtime getaway!!

Come check out this great spot. Friendly service, so welcoming. Amazing choice of pre-prohibition cocktails. Came here after already having dinner, so almost missed out on food. Stayed just long enough to try a later snack of avocado toast. If it is an indication of the rest of the menu, you need to come down here and get some food. The bread amazing, beautiful avocado and quick pickled red onions. Seasoned and sprinkled with pine nuts. Just what you look forward to in avocado toast. So excited for our next visit. Thank you for welcoming us. We will be back

Caprese salad, meatballs with toasted bread, memelas and asparagus.. Yummy!

My two sisters and I stoped in shortly after 5pm on a Friday afternoon for an early dinner and really enjoyed ourselves. Lots of room, easy to have a conversation without a lot of background noise. The menu is designed for items to be shared so we split a variety of things - asparagus, caprese salad, meatballs and memelas. We stayed for about an hour and a half catching up and never felt rushed to leave. Very relaxing and enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend the place and look forward to returning next time we come through Visalia.

Got some drinks with my husband at cellar door staff is very welcoming. I love that they had board games to play while enjoy a drink. Though I didn't try any food this time I sure will my next visit.

Pleasantly surprised by this place! Food was utterly amazing. Drinks were on point too. High recommend.

This place is top notch. Can't decide if it needs more couches or none at all. The drinks are phenomenal and lots of spirits to make even the most odd ball cocktails of choice.

Hot as hell in this place. Sad they make enough money with these expensive drinks. Turn the a/c on in this place.

Elderwood - Eggs Benedict and crab cakes

I made plans to come and see my friend and we talked about doing a little Galantines dinner since I…read morelive in a different state so she gave me three different options and I chose here, the menu looked great and the location seemed prime so we made reservations back In February to come on Thursday March 5th, 2026 at 7:30pm. Elderwood is located in the darling hotel in downtown Visalia on the rooftop, it's a small beautiful location with indoor and outdoor seating, we decided to sit outside the weather was nice but there was a bit of a breeze we asked of a heater could be brought closer to us in which it did when we were done with our dinner. My friend and I dressed up nice only to find people wearing sweatshirts sweats, jeans and whatever else they found in their closet next time I know I can just come as I am, but hey we dressed up to feel good and look out best and we did! Our server wasn't very attentive she only had one other table outside and didn't seem to engaged we started by splitting a Caesar salad and ordered a lemon drop martini, we sat and chatted then she took our entree order in which we both ordered the roasted chicken. The food came and it was absolutely delicious incredible flavor the chicken wasn't dry, we continued to catch up the server came by when we half way through our meal to check on us, we did have another drink with our dinner, the lemon drops were fantastic. Overall location was prime food and drinks were excellent and service was mediocre at best but again why do I even have my hopes up for? I need to go in expecting less so when it actually is average at best I won't be disappointed like I am, like I said in this economy if I'm willing to spend my money at least act like to you care to help is that too much to ask?

I had out of town guests this weekend and suggested going to the Elderwood restaurant. I've enjoyed…read morethis restaurant the dozen or so times I've gone. And have had excellent service, and superb food. However, tonight I have never been so embarrassed and disappointed. My friends got there before me and were all enjoying drinks and appetizers at the bar when I arrived. The restaurant was quite busy due to prom. Even the elevators weren't running properly due to kids wanting prom photos inside of them. I made it to the lounge and walked up to the bar to greet my friends, and was immediately confronted by a waiter who told me,"This isn't a standing bar, and there are no empty seats. You'll have to go down stairs and wait for us to let you know when a seat is available." I've never been so humiliated and embarrassed in my life. There are so many ways this could've been handled differently, politely discreetly, kindly, but this was the choice, to publicly shame me for greeting my friends and "standing" near them for less than 2 minutes. We were celebrating a friend, and were planning on drinks, appetizers, and dinner. With there being 6 of us, and that would have been a sizable check. I went down to the concierge, explained the situation, and asked who the manager was, only to be told that this is the restaurants policy. She looked at the video of the bar and said, "it is really crowded at the bar right now", to which one of my friends who left with me said,"yeah, that's our group, and now we are leaving". The concierge came over and gave me a card to contact someone else. But it was little too late. I can't recommend this restaurant due to such rude service.

Sarah was our server and she was cheerful and very professional. After a couple of recommendations we ordered some favorites. I tried the meatloaf, not a normal pick for me but it was highly recommend. I am happy I did! Juicy and flavorful with crunchy onions on top and a bed of creamy mashed potatoes below. We tried the sweet potato fries for an appetizer and they were delicious. For desert I was treated to their famous bread pudding, in high birthday fashion too. This is a must have when visiting here! All in all a great night with delicious food and friendly service.

We ordered coconut shrimp as our appetizer, crispy on the outside and dangerously yummy on the inside! Wish there was a coconut dipping sauce, but still delicious. We both ordered chicken dishes, both were flavorful, filling, and mouthwatering. We scraped our plates clean . To top it off we ordered bread pudding for dessert, we don't even like bread pudding, but we see why it was award winning. It was the best bread pudding we ever had! That praline sauce with it ... in one word FIRE! Big kisses to the chef on that! Service was excellent !

If I could give this 2.5-3 stars, that would feel more accurate…read more This review is mainly about the quinoa kale salad. The menu made it sound really good, but honestly, I could have made a much better version at home for around $4 instead of $22. The salad is loaded with crispy fried onions, which completely overpower everything else. I was especially looking forward to the protein since the salad is advertised as high in protein, but it only had a few pieces of cold blackened chicken, barely any quinoa, maybe one bacon bit, very minimal walnuts, and the apple shreds were bland and forgettable. I was expecting a flavor bomb and instead got mostly kale and fried onions. I would definitely not order this again. If I wasn't with a group of people, I probably would've tried to get a refund for the salad. That said, the steak appetizer was actually very good (also $20). The steak was cooked really well, and I appreciated being able to get a side of barbecue sauce. However, it was also served on a bed of crispy onions, which again felt unnecessary. Overall, the ambiance is lovely and the service staff is very nice, but the food itself is mostly mediocre, with the exception of the steak, which was solid.
