Order wine by the glass, wine tasting or a beer. I ordered the wine tasting which is available from 3-6pm. They mark the bottom of the glass , with what each glass of wine is. Service is good! This place is ok. They have nice wine, but the service is usually horrible more often times than not. We would have to wait a really long time to be helped, and it always felt like the worker was bothered she had customers. My husband and I have stopped coming here because of the service and have started going to the other wine bar down the street. They are a lot more welcoming. read more

Don't get the cheeseboards; over priced and underwhelming. The pizza is sorry too. Our party was charged an undisclosed $45 fee. After calling they blamed us for leaving their dirty bathroom dirty. A newer local to the area for about the past year, this is a downtown gem. Great selection of wine from Napa - Paso Robles & even out of the country (France/Argentina/Italy) the bartender/server was friendly/helpful every time I've gone in. I think one bartender was named Priscilla or Patricia...the crowd up at the bar seemed to really enjoy her service (maybe regular customers). I recently took my wife and mother there, there was a big party of women and I saw they got helped or asked to serve so many times I lost count! Very very helpful/tentative service. Absolutely love that Visalia has this hip little wine bar for us vino lovers to enjoy. My husband and I came here for pre dinner drinks Friday night. We sat at the bar where we conversed with a very knowledgeable bartender. I ordered the 5 wine flight, and loved every sample. My husband who isn't a wine drinker, actually ordered 4 glasses and really liked them all. The decor is just as you'd expect a wine bar to look like, dark and classic. Lots of tasteful art pieces on the walls. The also have charcuterie and other small bites that pair well with the wines. We didn't try anything to eat, as we had dinner plans but some ladies next to us ordered the cheese plate and some flatbread and it looked delicious. What a gem in Visalia! One would never have guessed Visalia would have a wine room! I stumbled into this place while walking downtown trying to figure out what I wanted to eat, something light, not heavy because I've been eating heavy lately. I decided to give this place a try after checking out other reviews on Yelp and boy am I am glad I did. The service provided was excellent. This is the perfect place for happy hour or a girls night out or just to unwind after a long day's of work. The wine were pretty darn good and the meat and cheese place was great too. My visit was on 3/19 I was really excited to try this place but it was so disappointing. The server was so unprofessional, it seemed like she didn't not want to be working. We were her only table and her friends were sitting at the bar talking about her ex boyfriend /gossiping etc. Not once did she check in with us after getting our first order of wine. After we drank our first glass we asked if we could make another order and she literally said if we wanted to order more we would have to walk to the bar because she didn't want to walk to us. If only the owners who sit at the end of the bar sipping bottles of wine as she serves an extremely busy bar all by her lonesome would help her maintain their business and customer satisfaction... While she tended to new customers, I watched a pizza sit on the bar with no heat lamp, in FRONT OF THE OWNER, for 15 minutes, while he enjoyed his beverage and company. My neighboring customer asked if "anyone else works here" because their glasses sat dry for a good 15 minutes, while Jasmine busted her butt and the owner sat sipping his second bottle. After which he had Jasmine provide him with a 3rd bottle before serving customers who were sitting dry without beverages. Great spot, nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the woman that was working was extremely unprofessional, non-welcoming, and appeared to be inconvenienced to serve us. There was only 1 other table occupied in the room. Another couple walked in and sat and left after 10 minutes of being ignored. When asked if there were other bottles available than what was listed in the menu she told the patrons to get up and go look in the refrigerator. Since my last review of the Blend, I continued to be charged for the wine club that I asked to discontinue. I was unaware of the 6 month commitment when my husband and I signed up for it. The employee did not disclose that the day of. (nice employees by the way) I feel that most other businesses would have just let it go, even after I told her of the situation, but this business owner didn't. I was excited to have a proper wine bar in Visalia, but alas Blend Wine Room is not it. Mainly, the reason is selection. It's the same old big Cali wine that you can find at basically any restaurant in the Central Valley -- Rombauer, etc. In that sort of Cali-centric space, Bella Vino in Fresno (Fig Garden area) at least has a much more interesting selection of Paso wines and many non-Cab reds that are hard to come by unless you're a member of the winery (Denner, Linne Calodo, L'Aventure, etc.). But both pale to the more interesting wine bars in California. Take L'Ordinaire in Oakland, which serves a wonderful, global (with a France emphasis) range of interesting varietals -- gamay, carignan, etc. I really don't know what the point of having a wine bar is if you're just going to serve run-of-the mill Rombauer, Justin, and easy-to-find Napa Cabs... read more
