It was like walking into Cesar's Palace of Visalia. We were promptly sat at the time of our reservation. Stephany was our waitress and very attentive. The food was ok. Nothing spectacular or worth the prices in our opinion. Our table had a margarita pizza, braised short ribs over mashed potatoes, lasagna and gnocchi with chicken. For dessert, we had carrot cake. read more

We had a great experience at La Piazza and will definitely be back! We started with the burrata. It was good, but probably the one thing we had that felt like it was lacking a little flavor. We also ordered the mozzarella fritta, and that was great. Crispy, cheesy, and the sauces it came with were really good. For dinner, I had the lobster ravioli with prawns. It was very filling, had a good amount of lobster ravioli, and the prawns made it a solid-sized portion. My wife had the house-made rigatoni, which was packed with flavor and a HUGE portion. Honestly, the two of us probably could have shared it. We definitely went home with leftovers. Drinks were good overall. My wife had an espresso martini and a glass of wine, and both were great. I had a couple beers, and my only complaint was that they were a little warmer than I would have liked. I ordered a second one and it came out about the same temperature. The service really stood out. We met Yani when we first walked in, and she was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server, Jose, was also great--very knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive throughout the night. The atmosphere and vibe at La Piazza are awesome, the service was excellent, and the food overall was really good. Definitely one of those places we're already looking forward to going back to. Next time I'm trying something different... but that mozzarella fritta is getting ordered again! read more

Kind of disappointed because I am a fan of the Original La Piazza in Tulare. Decor is nice, but a bit gaudy. Don't expect this place to be intimate; not sure if it's the acoustics or just everyone talking over the very loud music. We ordered: - Spaghetti and Meatballs: Dry & under seasoned. Even after asking for extra sauce, still meh. I mean how can a staple be wrong. - Camilla: Delicious, but someone was heavy handed with the Olive Oil. - Tiramisu: nothing special... Our server was nice, but kept forgetting things. All in all, I will give them another shot, and say, "Oh, maybe it's because the just opened." (again, because I like the OG.) TBD... read more

This has to be the most beautiful restaurant on Main Street. The decor is straight out of Italy The staff were attentive and friendly with some nice suggestions for our dinner. The favorite for us was their Chicken Involtini al Limone. This was one of the best chicken dish I have ever had. Make reservations early as this is a hot spot! read more

VERY crowded at the moment since they just opened! We had a reservation on a Saturday evening and still waited about 15 minutes before being seated. Although our reservation was for the main dining area, we were asked if we would be okay with the bar area as it opened up first. It was beautiful in the bar area! I had a La Piazza Martini (lemon drop martini) and fettuccine Alfredo. Both were great. I believe the drink was ~$15 and food was $29. Super big portions and they gave some complimentary bread as well! Service was slow just because of the crowds, but our server was so kind. I'll definitely be back! read more

Attended the pre-opening night for what is essentially the same offering from their Tulare restaurant. I opted for their non-pasta offering Pistacchio encrusted halibut fish. Grilled proper, leaving no spots of underdone steak. Aperol Spritzer mix was pefect, finely balanced without the hint of bitterness that's often a symptom of too little of prosecco and sparkling water. A big plus for the Italian Amalfi Coast staple. La Piazza just leveled up the Visalia dining scene markedly just by it's lavish Sistine Chapel faux ceiling frescoe design. Don't forget the bar wall's "Creation Of Adam" This bistro decor imbue polished date night vibe. It's semi-outdoor patio is rustic patio charm like in Puglia. This place will be popular, so reservation is highly recommended. Their 10 seat private wine room is sure to be a hit. read more

I had higher expectations from all the ads and people yalling online but it did not hit the mark. When you walk in its dark/dim. So watch your step. Although its a beautiful setup, when you look up the job looks half finished wish tons of dangling wires. The food was mid for their price. I got the ribeye cooked medium, but it came out well done. Sides were bland, with not much seasoning. Then the salmon and pasta was very bland. The only thing good was the dessert but even then. The whole appetizers and main course were not as expected. We did not come in with high expectations but if its 40$ for a salmon plate and 70 for a steak, we just expected more for the taste. Hopefully that changes over time. read more

The service was a nightmare. It was a rude, rushy, uncomfortable experience. I asked the waiter what she recommended between a few options I couldn't decide on and her response in a frustrated annoyed tone: "I'm so busy I don't have the time..." At that moment I was immediately embarrassed, I wanted to just leave. We are dining in at this nice restaurant Just trying to simply have a nice anniversary dinner but she ruins the vibe, she's too busy to do her job as a waiter to help a paying customer on recommendations, she simply didn't have the TIME. But yet she had the time to hangout at the table next to us, she was so chatty with them she had TIME for them but not for us. I was so confused and still am confused as to why she told us she was so busy and didn't have time for us but she did have time for her other table that was just right next to us. She constantly checked on them, stood there chatting with them like she had all the time in the world for them. Makes me wonder if it was a race thing? I don't know but we are very bothered by this experience. read more

Everything was GREAT!! Staff, food, ambience . I had gnocchi in Gorgonzola sauce. Excellent!

This place is mainly Instagram/influencer-heaven. They do have dishes similar to their main location in Tulare, but it's more of a bigger town, bar-hoppy, cutesy, photo-op type location. Even with reservation, you have to stand and stare at the same people in line for about 45 min past your check in time. When you walk to the bathroom it's lined with mirrors, so you're dodging people taking selfies in the way and in the bathroom as well. Also, there is a very unpleasant old seafood smell mixed with bathroom smells on the way to the bathrooms as well which was very off-putting. The parking is mainly in the back so if you dressed nicer, you're going to be click-clacking through uneven asphalt and experience the smells of the dumpsters and Visalia downtown previous nights' memories. Looking forward to the experience of Tulare's location instead. Our server mentioned they were worn out and anyone could be hired to work there. Stuffed pumpkins are still the best dish there and the food is delicious but the wait time was about an hour and half to get your entree and it seems they take longer if you're ordering drinks in hopes you'll keep ordering bar items before your food shows up. read more

The food was delicious, the ambiance was dreamy, the drinks, two thumbs down. We ordered cocktails BEFORE we ordered food however the drinks didnt arrive to the table until AFTER we finished our meal. I ordered a spritzer that included limoncello but there was none in the drink and is didnt taste good at all, my friend ordered limoncello neat was brought a lemoncello margarita . For a bartender or server to not know what NEAT means in a high end establishment is an embarrassment. I will be back because the food was good and I absolutely love how they transformed the place, hopefully this review will be edited then. read more

We heard mixed reviews about the place; so, decided to check it out for ourselves. The food was unfortunately lackluster. We had the spaghetti Carbonara, Marsala and the Manicotti. The Spaghetti Carbonara had basically no sauce just a little in the area with the bacon and the noodles were gummy. Based on my previous experiences eating carbonara in Italy and around the US this was my least favorite. The Marsala was too salty and not sure if it was a fluke or something but had no cream we could see even though it mentioned some on the menu it just had the brown sauce. The only thing that was decent was the manicotti. What gave it the 3 stars only was because our sever was very attentive and the place it self was beautiful. It did look like they still had some light fixtures possibly pending in the Bar area as there were some random likes dangling. I would rate the food a 1.5-2 based on our experience. read more

I'll be candid( I gave a 5-star review, so I expected the Manager to respond with maybe a thank you. Since they are new in Visalia, the Manager should be responding to every comment. They seem to have a wide variety ranging from low to high. I'm starting to feel my rating, which was accurate, was not appreciated. read more

We came in for a 7:45 reservation and were not seated until approximately 8:25. The front-counter staff appeared extremely disorganized, and we were repeatedly given excuses about how busy they were. What made it more frustrating was watching several parties who arrived after us get seated before we did. The service issues continued throughout the meal. Our server seemed overwhelmed and was slow to refill drinks, bring condiments, and provide additional silverware and place settings, even after we asked multiple times. The steak and shrimp were good, but only three shrimp were served, and they arrived approximately 25 minutes after the rest of the entrée. The burger was mediocre. The halibut was a very thin portion with very little vegetables for the price, and the lemon sauce was excessively salty. The pizza was also on the colder side. On the positive side, the rigatoni with chicken and the short ribs were very good, and most of the food did arrive hot. When we raised concerns about the food quality and the significant difference in timing between some of the dishes, the server's response was essentially, "I didn't make the food," with no meaningful attempt to address the concern or offer any explanation. That response came across as dismissive and only added to an already frustrating experience. The billing situation was another major disappointment. Three of the six people in our party ordered drinks at the bar, and we specifically attempted to close out that bar tab before returning to the table. Instead, the charges were transferred to our dinner bill, and a 20% gratuity was then added to the entire party. Whether this was an oversight or intentional, it was unacceptable and felt deceptive, particularly because we had already tried to settle the bar portion separately. Only three people had consumed drinks from the bar, yet the gratuity was applied to the full party of six. We were not given a clear explanation or an opportunity to correct the charge before the bill was finalized. For a party of six, a mandatory 20% gratuity is already on the high end, and it was particularly frustrating that this was not clearly communicated to us. If a mandatory gratuity is going to be added, it should be clearly disclosed before the bill is presented, and separate bar charges should not be moved to the table bill without the customer's consent. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The food had some definite highlights, but the long wait despite having a reservation, disorganized front-of-house operation, weak table service, delayed items, dismissive response to our concerns, and undisclosed 20% gratuity overshadowed the positives. For the prices being charged, we expected a substantially better level of service and organization. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we are unlikely to return. read more

They were so accommodating, and the service was spectacular! At first, they seated us outside on the patio, but it was a bit warm that evening, and I really didn't want to eat my meal outside in the heat. My partner spoke up, and they were more than happy to move us inside and seat us at the bar. Every staff member was so kind and welcoming. They kept checking in on us to make sure we were taken care of, which we really appreciated. The inside of the restaurant was also beautiful, and even the restroom was super clean. I ordered the lobster ravioli, and it was absolutely delicious! My partner had the lemon chicken and said his meal was really good as well.We will definitely be coming back! Next time, we'll just make sure to make a reservation ahead of time. read more

The place is amazing. I loved the variety of food options on the menu. We ordered the burrata appetizer which was delicious. The Hugo spritz tasted well and strong. For our main dish we ordered the gnocchi with bolognese and chicken rigatoni which were both amazing. Definitely we'll go back and try other dishes. It is a huge place with lots of seating, so it does get loud in there. Make sure to make a reservation to get seated. read more

A friend and I were in town for the weekend and had heard so many exciting things about this beautiful new restaurant, so we were really looking forward to checking it out. We didn't have dinner reservations--we simply wanted to stop in and have a drink. We first arrived around 8:30 p.m. and were immediately told, "Sorry, the bar is too busy." There was no welcome, no suggestion to take a look around, no offer to wait, or even an invitation to see if there might be open seating (in bar area). We were simply turned away. We decided to have dinner elsewhere and returned around 9:45 p.m. to try again. Unfortunately, we were once again met with, "Sorry, we're closing in 10 minutes." Again, the interaction felt very closed off and unwelcoming. I understand that new restaurants can be busy and that staff may be preparing to close, but it was disappointing that on both visits we felt as though we were being shut out rather than welcomed. We were genuinely excited to see this new restaurant and hopefully become customers, but instead, we walked away feeling disappointed by our experience and the way we were made to feel. read more

We tried the new Visalia location today and were really impressed. From the moment you walk in so gorgeous and shocks you. The food was very yummy. We tried the pizza, carbonara, seafood Alfredo, and the bread pudding. All were delicious. One small critique on the pizza I wish it was cooked a tad longer the crust was little undercooked but still delicious. Our server Daisy was extremely kind, attentive and knowledgeable. We were huge fans of their old fashions! We enjoyed so much we forget to take pics. read more

the ambience was nice however the food fell far below expectations. I asked for a Negroni cocktail for starters I was informed that this "Italian " restaurant was unable to make a classic Italian cocktal but the did manage to make an acceptable Manhattan. the burrsta antipasto was ok however their " bistro salad " delivered bits of gorgan Zola bits one had to hunt for and one could not taste any dressing. Then I was brought lobster ravioli... there were tail on shrimp on top that was inedible since the server removed my knife and only provided me with a fork. The ravioli were acceptable had they not been drenched is a cloying cream sauce that succeeded in smothering the flavor of the shrimp. I was disinclined to venture into their desserts but asked for a coffee and a brandy, only to be informed they did not have and brandy on premises. overall a ver disappointing dining experience. There are several other very good Italian restaurants in Visalia so we will not be back to La Piazza. read more
