Everything here exceeded my expectations. I brought my mom here for a pre Mother's Day brunch with my fiance and we loved it all. The staff was so kind the ambiance was amazing and the e will for sure be going back. They give you complimentary bread and olives that were amazing! We tried the mussels, shrimp, potato, and wings as tapas. The shrimp and mussels were my favorite for sure. My mom got the chicken kabob, my fiance got the pasta, ajd I got the burger and we walked away very happy and stuffed! Strongly recommend. Oh and the mocktails were amazing. Ole Tapas Bar is a one of a kind experience. The dining room is a modest size and the bar is the star of the dining room. The staff is attentive and personable. I appreciate the waitstaff is careful not to interrupt conversation but available when service is needed. Friday night also included a live saxophone! The craft cocktail and mocktail menus are carefully curated. The Rose Gin (pictured) is light and bright with floral notes. The infused old fashioned is incredibly well-balanced. I appreciate the mocktail menu so you can experience the creativity of the bar without the spirits. From the tapas menu I sampled the beef carpaccio, shrimp, whipped feta, patatas bravas (crispy potatoes) and grilled Spanish cheese. The beef carpaccio was my favorite and quite easily the best I've had outside of Italy. Although I could have ended dinner with the fantastic tapas, it only got better with the mains. The lemon risotto paired perfectly with the mahi mahi. And the lamb chops were seasoned to perfection. Dinner ended with an espresso martini and dessert including three house made options plus a berry cake flown in from New York! First I'll get to the point. Then I'll tell you of our experience. 1. Food: was excellent Mediterranean cuisine. 2. Service: was adequate, polite and informed... but cold and detached. 3. Ambiance: establishment sits in a strip center in front of a hotel. Small enough to be intimate but big enough to be comfortable with a beautiful bar. It is modern, clean, lots of glass, with sufficient lighting. Recorded music was much too loud and interfered with conversation. Background music should be just that... BACKGROUND MUSIC! However, later in the evening it was replaced by a live Saxophone player who was great. I enjoyed him very much. We love Tapas Dining. The opportunity to try many different plates without stuffing yourself and emptying your bank account is always a pleasure. Greater Cleveland has several such establishments and they are a true joy. I was thrilled when I heard we had another and immediately made reservations. We arrived for our evening and entered the building, initially it was a little bit disorienting. The hostess desk was tucked into the corner to our left and we walked right past it. A short distance into the room a server redirected us and after waiting a moment the hostess appeared from the back of the restaurant. She confirmed our reservation and promptly escorted us to a comfortable table. Shortly thereafter a nice enough young woman greeted us, introduced herself as our server for the evening and took our beverage order. I must say, the menu was interesting and intriguing. I was enticed by several of the offerings and looked forward to experimenting. The menu is separated into two key sections. One is the "Tapas" menu, the other is the "Mains". We started by ordering several selections from the Tapas side. First, the "Lemon Herb Octopus" was excellent. It was very tender without being soft or mushy. The herbs, paprika, and lemon blended perfectly for a light and bright flavor. Second, the "Marinated Olives with Walnuts" was very nice. It provided a great selection of several different olives and the walnuts lent a nice crunch. Lastly, the "Grilled Spanish Cheese" was okay. I really could have passed on that. It was not bad in any way. It was just "invisible". There was no real flavor, no enticement, nothing to draw you back... it was "Meh". I think next time I will replace it with the "Beef Carpaccio". All-in-all it was a good start (except for the music which was now banging in my ears). We moved on to the Mains. I immediately zeroed in on the "Moroccan Spiced Lamb Chops". They were paired with a French bechamel sauce, mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables. The chops were meaty, spiced perfectly, grilled perfectly, and just marvelous. The potatoes were nice and creamy and the vegetables were perfectly prepared as to be tender enough without being mushy. My wife ordered the "Pan Seared Halibut with Risotto" which was not available and substituted with "Mahi-Mahi". The substitution was no problem and the Mahi-Mahi was excellent. The Risotto was creamy and flavorful. Everything was cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. Our guests ordered the "Lamb Chops" and "Spiced Chicken Tagine" They were both very satisfied and thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We all offer our highest compliments to the kitchen staff. As always, we followed our meal with coffee and dessert. The coffee was very good, but I found it a bit odd that they brewed it one cup at a time, so it took a while to show up. Both couples shared one order each of the "Pot de Crème". It was excellent...chocolaty and light. So, in conclusion, last night was an excellent adventure into the world of Tapas Dining.. "Ole Tapas Bar" performed very nicely. I highly recommend you give them a try and see for yourself. read more

The website is not updated at all! They have a lunch menu that is not as pricey as the dinner menu posted. They have weekday happy hour which is not posted (2-5pm) but the hours are stoopidt because the employed will never make it to appreciate and enjoy it. The drinks are refreshing, although sticking to a standard drink is more reasonable. The food is very good and served nice and hot. We enjoyed the Patatas Bravas, although more crispy is my taste. The curry Shrimp tapa has wonderful flavors and I think we had 6-7 shrimp. Ask for a spoon because the sauce is worthy of every drop on the crostinis. I felt well received upon arrival with kind greetings and attention. The restaurant itself is smaller in size but bold with modest decors that fit the space well. The menu is smaller, which I feel allows for attention to details in the kitchen. They only had a few vegetarian options and only salad for vegans. We had cocktails which are a must due to their well balanced flavors and presentation. The salads we had were large and filling. The olive side was good but had a lot of olive pits, both onsite the olives and on the side. The wiped cheese was good. We decided to try the tapas bar and restaurant in Solon, craving the flavors of Florida's tapas cuisine. We kicked things off with grilled octopus, but it tasted more like a spoiling decomposing scallop--definitely not fresh. Next, we tried the olive, walnut, and marinated cheese tapas. The cheese was spicy, there were few walnuts, and the olives varied--some were good, but many had pits, and none were the creamy variety I hoped for. The pistachio cheese was the standout, but it was bland and would've benefited from a fruity topping like pomegranate. Though the restaurant claims to fuse Spanish and Turkish cuisines, the mains we ordered--a simple salad and a fig salad--were too basic to mention. Would I recommend it? The cocktails are unique and thoughtfully crafted, and the food is fresh and internationally inspired. We had the mussels and octopus...now, I would never normally order mussels and octopus in Ohio, but they came so highly recommended that we had to try it. And boy were they good. I left clueless to who the target audience is for this place. It's a (mostly empty) contemporary upscale atmosphere but it's in a strip mall located in a hotel parking lot. It's called a Tapas restaurant but the Tapas prices are on par with the entree prices. I expected to be able to sample 2-3 Tapas options, but not at 20 bucks each. While I know there is a markup for wine, there are wines on the list that they charge more for a glass than a store sells for an entire bottle (or 2). The staff is nice enough and the mixed drinks are okay. I guess this is best as a date night option. But I couldn't imagine spending $85+ (two glasses of wine, two Tapas, and tip) at a place next to an Indian Buffet and sandwich shop. read more

I was with my friends there that I hadn't seen in a while. We ordered some dinner, drinks and were chatting. Myself and a friend visited Ole Tapas bar on 4/26/2025. It was such an awesome experience. We had the whipped Feta which was garnished with arugula and tomatoes and paired with bread. It was so tasteful and well assembled. We had the crispy potatoes that had a Smokey sauce that was very tasty. We shared the lamb with whipped potatoes; this was my only gripe because the lamb was a little tough which made it hard to eat, but the flavor produce was superb. We then had the wild mushroom risotto and the flavors were apparent and appropriate. Lastly, we tried the Rose Water Paloma that was garnished with dried flower petals and a rose molded use cube. I ordered French 75 as a second drink and they gave me a whole personal bottle of champagne to top it off. If you're looking for new place to try, this is it! I LOVE the food, but recently had a bad customer experience. My friend and I sat at the bar for about 3 hours and then we were (politely) asked to leave because other people were standing around the bar wanting to sit (it was pretty crowded). We each ordered two drinks and plenty of food. So, although we did take up a lot of time (as did others), I think we spent enough money to justify it. I'm also not sure why we vs. other people who'd been there a long time were asked to leave (we weren't loud or demanding). I saw the owner as we left and told him about it (without giving the server's name). He expressed feeling bad for us, and was pleasant, but he also justified the servers actions explaining the various pressures they're under. Ultimately, my take was that I get the "pressures" on a server, but the customers - the paying customers - should not have that pressure transferred them. read more
