I attended a Yelp event here a couple of weeks ago with my bestfriend who is also a foodie and enjoys various cuisines. Prior to this I hadn't visited the establishment in over 15 years. The experience that Yelp and the owner provided was appreciated! We were able to enjoy a night out in Downtown Cleveland which I always enjoy. The Ambiance: Walking in you immediately see the bar, great decor and hear inviting music. The main dining area isn't far and is set up for family style dining which I enjoy. Dinner time should be about community and often times many restaurants don't easily accommodate group dining. The place settings were a great touch and the servers were bustling throughout ensuring the guests had what they needed. The Food: Spanish cuisine sits at the top of my favorites. I in fact just visited Spain and thoroughly enjoyed the authentic food during my time there. We were served a 3 course meal- a house salad with a house dressing accompanied with bread, Paella accomplished by breaded chicken cutlets and flan for dessert. We were also given a house Sangria that was yummy The bread and butter along with the mixed greens was my favorite course. The rice included in the paella was my favorite. My guy and I were invited to a yelp event here and as soon as we entered and sat at bar for drinks we were greeted by the lovely owner who smiled and took our orders right away. I didn't know what to expect prior to arriving, I always pass this restaurant and was curious so I was super stoked to get an invite. The sangria was by far the best I've ever had, definitely tastes homemade. Paella and chicken were delicious. We had chips with our food and I found out that it's part of the culture to eat potato's with every meal. I love chips so it made me happy. I felt right at home here, a very warm and welcoming vibe. This was easily one of the worst meals my family has ever had. The pasta arrived swimming in a bland, watery broth, with tiny shrimp that still had the dirty veins attached. The chips tasted extremely stale. The salmon was badly overcooked and completely flavorless. The entire meal felt careless and unappetizing. I honestly felt terrible for bringing my family there, and the food was so unpleasant that I spent the whole time worried it might make us sick. If you love your family, avoid this place. You come in thrugh a red door that leads to another door that leads to the dinning room, the host was awesome! He sat us right away and was very cheery which is always a plus in my book! My husband and I sat down and loved listening to the music they had on. The waiter let us know the specials (not on the menu). We got the octopus (which was the special), i got the Caldo Gallego and my husband ordered the Gaspacho. We also ordered the Valenciaga Paella. I must prefice this with My husband has never had Gaspacho before didn't really know what it is he just that it sounded interesting....oh annnndddd had no clue that Gaspacho was served cold. He thought it tasted like cold totitos salsa lol which i mean when it comes down to it, it kinda is, the base is tomatoes so . The Caldo Gallego was good, it was nice and hot with chorizo floating in it with spinach, potatoes, white beans, onions and other things. It was pretty good I like it. The octopus was delicious not chewy or tough just tender with some nice spices on it. It was still nice and warm as well which is nice since a lot of the time I get octopus it's a little cold. Lastly, the paella. The paella had a nice taste to it, it had muscles and claims which my husband loved, along with shrimp and chicken which I loved and saffron rice which was very nice. I do t think they use the right rice for the dish I think it was just regular saffron rice but I can't be completely sure. I mean the rice was good don't get me wrong but it maybe was a little overcooked or something not sure. Either way the paella is good and I would honestly come again if possible. We are part of 6, they automatically charged 20% service fee, but they did not deliver any service.!!!!! After we leave a google review. Owner replied that we were table for 4, but ordered one main dish, that is totally unacceptable reason. We were group of 6, and i have attached part of our receipt in pic the whole table was spend over $400, we ordered 4 main course and 1 paella, and several appetizers, 2 glass of wine. what do you mean that we only ordered 1 main course?????? My brother took us to Mallorca to celebrate our family Christmas 3 years ago. We liked it so much my 3 brothers my wife and I have been back the last two years as well The restaurant ambulance is old school , white table Spanish/ Portagese with bullfight photos We usually start with a pitcher of great sangria with plenty of fruit. For appetizers we get the garlic shrimp ( excellent) , crab and Cheese stuffed Mushrooms ( also excellent and shrimp cocktail . They serve bread and butter with appetizers, good for soaking up garlic and cheese sauce For the main dish we love the Valencia Paella,with generous portions of Lobster, Crab, Mussels, Shrimp , Clams, scallops, chickens and chorizo and yellow saffron rice. Delicious! Probably my new favorite restaurant in Cleveland. We had the seared scallops to start, as well as the fried calamari. Both were delicious. I loved the calamari mostly because it wasn't over breaded. Then I had the stuffed scallops and my partner had the baby goat in wine sauce. Wow! Both were amazing and my only issue with either was that I wish there had been more. For dessert I had the flan and my partner had the cheesecake. Both were also delicious but our least favorite part of the meal. Our waiter was also great and talked to all of the guests when he went to their table. I really hope the owner reads this, because I don't intend to be mean, but this place was a classic disappointment. Being from out of town, I thought Cleveland was supposed to be a food destination, and I'm sure it has its moments, but this ain't it. First off, the bartender was enthusiastic and funny. He was very welcoming and helpful, which I appreciated. That said, the food was quite disappointing. I ordered the Paella Valencia, as I was excited about the prospect of genuine Spanish paella. It started with a serving of. bread - which tasted store-bought; and a salad - which tasted like it came from a Sysco prepped lettuce bag - served with a glob of canned Thousand Island dressing. Any restaurant worth its salt serves quality, house-made products, the quality of which is consummate with the price they charge. The paella came out with a side of boiled broccoli and carrots which tasted like they were microwaved out of another Sysco food bag, and some likewise bland fried potato chips. The paella itself wasn't the worst thing I've ever tasted in my life, but for the $58 price point, it wasn't worth 1/4 that. The rice had no saffron flavor (as stated on the menu); the lobster was flavorless, overcooked rubber; the other seafood was likewise patently bland; and there was absolutely no socarrat, which is the hallmark of traditional Spanish paella. The house Rioja was $16.50 per glass from what tasted like an $8 bottle of wine. Again, if the owner is reading this, I'm not a bitter customer. I was treated well from entrance to exit. But I do believe you're stealing people's money, and I really wish you would do better. read more

My wife and I were in Cleveland for WWE SummerSlam and on our last day after the Guardians game we wanted to get some food. We searched and found this place which we were excited for because they had seafood. A majority of the seafood options contained some kind of lobster dish and we were fully prepared to both order a dish with lobster. When we go in the waiter greets us and seats us right away. The place was kind of empty for a Sunday evening with great weather, but as the night went on we found out why. So we are presented menus and almost instantly knew what we wanted to order. When the waiter comes to the table to take our order my wife ask about the surf and turf option and the waiter says "we don't have any lobster in the restaurant! We had a wedding party the day before and are completely out of lobster". Now I have never worked in food service before but even I know when seating a party at a table you ask if they have any questions about the menu, also you inform them if they are intending to order something you are out of then you let them know ahead of time. At that point my wife and I were already turned off but it being our last night there we decided to go with the flow. I ended up ordering the stuffed shrimp which wasn't bad, my wife the stuffed tilapia. It was going ok, but then I noticed a fruit fly mixed in with the butter sauce on the plate! I was grossed out but didn't want to make a scene as they had one other table with customers in our section. I showed my wife and she was disgusted! I called the waiter over and informed him of the situation, but the way he shrugged and kinda dismissed it like with that "well what do you want me to do" attitude enraged me. Again I didn't make a scene. When my wife went to the restroom I thought on it more and asked the waiter if there was anything he could do for me as far as the bill or some kind of compensation for the inconvenience and of course he interpreted that as me asking for a free meal for both my wife and I. He says "you want to not pay for anything?!" while shaking his head no. That wasn't what I was asking at all! I was just simply asking if there could be some kind of courtesy that could be given since 1. You didn't even have what we initially wanted to order and didn't inform us 2. There was an actual insect in my freaking food no matter how small it seemed to him and 3. I just believed it would be good customer service to at least offer something even considering you tried to dismiss my claims. So I asked for the manager which wasn't there that day according to him so he claimed he would go speak to his boss with a little attitude. My wife happed to be coming back from the restroom and she says she overheard him in spanish telling his boss that I "wanted something off the bill but the bug on my plate was small" and that it was "impossible" for that to have happened. He looked at it himself, unless he thinks I go around to various places bringing my own fruit flies to put in food to get a discount or free meal. My wife and I were fully prepared to pay for lobsters! So he comes back to the table when my wife got back and says "oh we're gonna take off $20 for you, is that good?!" Still with an attitude like I was begging for it. As a customer I shouldn't have to tell you how to do your job. This place needs a refresher in customer service. Oh and one more thing.....my wife is from The Philippines, but I can guarantee they thought because she is Asian she did not understand spanish. Don't judge books by their cover and don't talk shit about people in your native tongue because you assume it's safe! And I didn't even have to describe the coward waiter for anyone to wonder who it was. It's the same guy in almost every pic on this yelp page making flaming coffee and doing all kinds of other magic tricks except proper customer service. read more

I have been going to Mallorca's for dinner parties and lunches since I was a kid. I am 31 now. Of course, things change over the years but this is one of the only places where the customer services / servers are ALWAYS on top of things. I'm impressed with the servers and how well they treat their customers. Honestly, they deserve a raise or some type of recognition. The servers also help take pictures, serve cake , move tables around for your convenience which most places do not. They even give you extra space to put presents on or decorations. Amazing. I love how it's traditional in the sense they encourage family and welcome any type of parties. You can tell they are passionate about what they do and that's rare to come by . But if you are looking for free chips and salsa, you won't find that here, However A very detailed restaurant in regards to how the serve and package food. The owner is not just a person who tells people what to do, She seems to care about every single guest that comes into the restaurant, No matter if you look like a million bucks, or just an Average Joe, They seem to treat you well. First time dining here and my last. Ordered the stuffed shrimp which was really good but the sides disappointed. All entrees come with salad, veggies that consist of carrots and broccoli and rice. The rice was just okay, the veggies weren't cooked long enough and were tasteless. We were a party of three and we all ordered entrees. The sides of rice and veggies were served on a smaller plate for the three of us to share. Needless to say it wasn't enough for three people. I was able to relax and enjoy a meal I've been waiting for forever - authentic paella. Arrived a little early and was seated quickly. My server, Smiling and kind, was a very friendly fellow who made the whole evening memorable. The paella was amazing and full of flavor complete with 5 types of seafood hidden within the rice. The scallops were my fave! So glad to have a bucket list meal checked off with leftovers to spare. Superb coordination, communication, food and dining service. Arranged my son's Rehearsal Dinner from Savannah Ga. I selected Mallorca on high praise from family in OH. I dealt with Laurie Torres who made it stress free by offering dinner selections based on the group size and tastes and put in perfect alcohol package to complement the meal. Coordination was seamless. The restaurant was clean and exactly as the pictures shown. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was well attuned to the guests and all courses served at perfect temperature. It made a beautiful prelude to the wedding.
