We decided to stop here instead of the original location. My daughter said have you been to a Spanish restaurant and answer was no. We got greeted with a woman and a pitcher of sangria and who was from our hometown of Pittsburgh. That was a great start. Everyone from the hostess to the waiter was amazing and friendly. I had the stuffed salmon with crabmeat. The wine from the food and the people was amazing. This was an accidental find as we were headed to the dots before checking into our hotel. Seems like we found a new place to eat at. This place rocks read more

Mallorca never disappoints. The stuffed salmon is amazing! I honestly don't even need to look at the menu because I will always order it. My friends went with the Paella and they raved about it ! The portions are a good size and we all went home with leftovers. Of course the restaurant is beautiful and the staff was great. We never had to wait to have our glasses refilled or for any additional requests we made. read more

I have been going to Mallorca's for dinner parties and lunches since I was a kid. I am 31 now. Of course, things change over the years but this is one of the only places where the customer services / servers are ALWAYS on top of things. I'm impressed with the servers and how well they treat their customers. Honestly, they deserve a raise or some type of recognition. The servers also help take pictures, serve cake , move tables around for your convenience which most places do not. They even give you extra space to put presents on or decorations. Amazing. I love how it's traditional in the sense they encourage family and welcome any type of parties. You can tell they are passionate about what they do and that's rare to come by . Shoutout to our servers. read more

I finally made my way to Mallorca! I'd noticed this wonderful restaurant years ago ...was curious , but never ventured in. Yesterday, Sunday, Oct. 24, my party of three, received such wonderful service from everyone! We were greeted so warmly and we didn't have to ask for anything...staff was always right there to take care of everything. The food was delicious...and the presentation was beautiful! Thank you for a wonderful experience. I will definitely be back soon! Mahlika read more

Superb coordination, communication, food and dining service. Arranged my son's Rehearsal Dinner from Savannah Ga. I selected Mallorca on high praise from family in OH. I dealt with Laurie Torres who made it stress free by offering dinner selections based on the group size and tastes and put in perfect alcohol package to complement the meal. Coordination was seamless. The restaurant was clean and exactly as the pictures shown. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was well attuned to the guests and all courses served at perfect temperature. It made a beautiful prelude to the wedding. All the guests were raving about the experience including one very "difficult to please" guest. (I tipped generously.) Thank you Laurie and well done Mallorca staff. read more

I loveMallorca, lunch dinner happy hour and Restaurant Week! There is always a reason to make your way to West 9th. First and foremost the service is above and beyond amazing. The wait staff are professional, knowledgeable and quick. I feel like I am in someone's kitchen, it's fabulous and they have sangria so what's not to love. We had a party of three on a busy Friday night during restaurant week, the restaurant was buzzing but you felt like you were the only table...that's his good the service truly is. We started with salad and sangria. I loved the house dressing, a mix of thousand island and a vinaigrette, off but delicious. We moved on to the scallops, they are like butter...pan seared in butter with plenty of capers for the perfect brine. YUM! My husband ordered the paella and it was amazing, the rice was perfect, the broth even better and the shellfish was so fresh, everything about this dish makes you want to come back over and over again. I ordered the fresh paperdale and mussels, the Latin spin on and Italian classic was even better than imagined. There is always too much food, but you keep coming back because it's just that good. So if you are looking for authentic seafood, Spanish cuisine and the best service and sangria in Cleveland make your way downtown to Mallorca it's just that good! read more

Pretty decent place. DEFINITELY pricey, and not super worth the splurge. Don't get the white sangria (or the red in my opinion). But the warm bread they give you is great (definitely ask for more, you're gonna want it to soak up all the delicious sauces and stews). If you've been abroad to Spain or had very authentic Spanish food, this place might give that a run for its money....if you're drunk. This place is GOOD, not GREAT. The crab cake apps tasted of reused fry oil (not a good sign). Maybe the best Iberian food you could hope to get in the Midwestern United States. read more

Wonderfully theatrical waiter who really brought the specials to life! Delicious seafood here although very expensive for the portions. $33 for sole stuffed w/salmon, probably 6 oz total fish, comes with broccoli/carrots, potato chips, and saffron rice w/peas in large serving dishes w/portions for 3-4 people. The sole was fantastically flavorful in a rich white champagne sauce and the salmon was super buttery and rich inside as well. There are lots of healthy options on the menu and they have a cocktail list, too. My drink, the Flamenco, was $18 but rather large and boozy with Grey Goose, Midori, and Chambord to make a raspberry flavored concoction. read more

decent food. however server was a pain on neck; coming every second to take our empty dishes away; we couldn't enjoy our sangria & beer; very annoying & disappointed. read more

Not only was the ambiance incredible, but the service was phenomenal. After being seated, we waited for less than 10 minutes before being served with appetizers and they were delicious. I love this restaurant so much and it will for sure be a new staple. I very highly recommend. read more

Ordered an appetizer on special, shrimp cocktail, and paella to share between 2. My partner got a house red and I asked for a mocktail and explained that I can't have alcohol. Is it an allergy? Intolerance? Who knows but I get deathly ill the next day from 1/2 of a 4% beer or soy sauce with alcohol as the preservative. We were brought salads but not told about a $5 up charge. I'm fine with paying for a salad, just odd that it wasn't stated up front. The dressing was an odd mustardy-French that wasn't particularly enjoyable. I'm thankful it wasn't great and that I was unaware of the extra charge because I ate only half. It is made with beer and I was mysteriously ill the following day, unsure of where it came from until I read reviews from folks needing gluten free options and getting sick from the dressing. The cocktail sauce was overly lemony. Our octopus app was tender but bland. The paella had no socarrat, tasted like boxed rice and all the seafood was extremely over cooked. We skipped dessert and walked to Mitchell's for ice cream that never disappoints. We'll not return to Mallorca. read more

My husband and I were looking forward to a great dinner and experienced a very lack luster evening at Mallorca. Our service was terrible. We had to ask what the specials were, I had to bring to the server's attention that I saw a sangria special online that he surely didn't openly tell us about, and the food was extremely bland and flavorless. Our food came out rather quickly, but not one time throughout our meal did a server come to check on us or ask if we were happy with our meal. We were also quite disappointed by the dry bread on the table that obviously came out of a bag from a grocery store and the salad that also seemed to come out of a bag with a tiny dollop of dressing. We will never come back. The price for the meal was way over priced for seafood that tasted like it was from the freezer section at a store. read more

Outstanding Spanish cuisine but service is not consistent with specials not communicated to every table. Servings are relatively ample and authentic. Beverage selection is limited read more

My wife and I've looked forward to returning to Mallorca since our first visit some five or so years back. Last week was my 40th birthday, as special an occasion as one gets anymore, and we were in the area, so...Mallorca. The service was as good as I remember and...that's about it, sadly. But the food suffered from "this *has* to taste good for what it cost" syndrome. If I'm paying fifty bucks for a plate of seafood paella, though, is it too much to ask for the shrimp to be deveined? To say it was a disappointment is an understatement - it was the low point of the entire trip. :( read more

Another amazing culinary experience. I can't get enough of the quality of flavors and the customer service of this place. I had such a delicious appetizer of scallops in butter sauce and capers, main course lamb shanks with yellow rice, vegetables and potato chips. Add to that a couple of glasses of white wine and for dessert a "flan" vanilla custard. I'm in heaven. For the discriminating palate you must experience Mallorca. Simply amazing! read more

The service; the food, all of it, was PERFECT. They are for sure taking every Covid precaution, making sure they have the friendliest most patient staff, and making sure they stay genuine to their mission of delivering authentic. The clams casino was amazing, so juicy , bacon was perfect . But the real show stopped was the Paella Valentina, like HEART stopping good. The rice was perfect, the seafood perfect; the authenticity PERFECT. It was plenty for two people to share, we even had leftovers. It came with a side of chips and steamed veggies, both were good also. They are known for their paella and I promise you they did not disappoint.Their house made sangria will tickle your tummy and their house made chips were scrumptious. I was thoroughly impressed with their exceptional service and prompt speed. Pricing was high but honestly I expected that, it's a nice place and it's worth every cent. read more

Fun way to mix it up from the run-of-the-mill American genres, and had the most locally famous person I know say she takes people there for big groups. Must Try: - Red Sangria, made in house - Stuffed Salmon (was a special) - Gazpacho - Mussels and Oysters Not Missing Out: - Lobster Had some outdoor seating in front ( a few small tables). Inside was all quarantine-prepared. Staff friendly and attentive; over half seemed bilingual. We haven't had gazpacho before but we're so glad we tried it! Family style sides were rather basic compared to other foods. Unseasoned potato chips, unseasoned steamed carrots and broccoli. The saffron rice was good but wasn't vibrant or any other more desired adjective you'd come up with. We really enjoyed the stuffed salmon. Also got the special seafood platter. The only sad part was the lobster... the tail was rather rubbery. read more

Unfortunately neither the food or service were what we expected. Food:The paella - the lobster in it was overcooked and dry. Service: Our checks were wrong which irritated the server when brought to his attention. He rudely grabbed each check away and came back with an attitude. Wrong meals and drinks were listed and he kept loudly referring to the computer as if that negates the incorrect charges. The kicker was that we were overcharged. And after signing the receipt and adding the tip, online banking showed a charge for more than what was signed for! Unacceptable . read more

The house made sangria was strong and flavorful! The stuffed salmon was great stuffing is good stuff not just a bunch of breadcrumbs. The paella customized how you like it. So we had chicken clams shrimp and a half lobster. Flavorful Beautiful presentation. The managers son Came over to chat he had excellent customer service and personality. I asked for the manager to let him know his staff was attentive amazing and welcoming and the food was full of flavor with great serving sizes. We will be back and highly recommended. The flan at the end! Superb and I don't like flan! Family owned local and fresh with excellent service. read more

DO NOT eat here if you have a dairy or gluten allergy. They have no idea what gluten free or dairy free is. The house dressing has beer in it and they said it was gluten free. The steamed vegetables came drenched in butter and they assured us it was dairy free. The grilled chicken had clearly been cross contaminated with dairy. They have no gluten free option for pasta. We called ahead to make sure they could accommodate our party with those that had these severe allergies, they assured us they could. If you have no dietary allergies or sensitivity concerns then this place is fabulous. The servers kept our water glasses full and bread plates were restocked frequently. The soft lighting and white linens make the place feel elegant and formal. The menu is extensive with rich creamy decadent options. read more

Good food and entertaining. First of all, I thought the food was very good and worth checking out if you are in the area and looking for something unique. The service was good, but there seemed to be a lot of people rushing around when the place was not that busy. Maybe that is how they run the business; it was entertaining. My only complaint is that the bartender, when asked what I should drink, said they have very good sangria. Later that night I saw them make it, by putting ice in a container, fresh fruit and some red wine. I am not a mixiologist, but I am pretty sure that is not how true sangria is made. read more

I've been coming here for many years and it is my absolute favorite place for great Spanish (Iberian) food. The key to Mallorca's success is consistency. You will find the owner of the restaurant there as well as some of the wait staff who have been there since it opened. I've never had a disappointing meal there. The food is plentiful and the wait staff is attentive and always quite pleasant. The service was voted best in Cleveland. The restaurant is well known for its seafood dishes, and though I'm not a huge seafood person, I'm told the paella is excellent. Mallorca has many other great menu offerings as well. They make their own homemade potato chips, and the gazpacho is superb. The last time I was there I decided to get the Spanish coffee, a recommended treat. It's a wonderful blend of coffee and liquor, spices, and topped off with whipped cream. The drink is prepared right in front of you and the gentleman preparing ours was happy and exuberant, so it was served with lots of flair and smiles. Even though this is a nice restaurant with linen tablecloths and nicely dressed waiters, this isn't a place where one has to come dressed to the nines. You can come relaxed, in comfortable clothes, and still be treated well. The last time I went I wore a nice pair of jeans and a sweater and felt right at home. Laurie, the owner, stopped by my table, chatted with me and my girlfriend, then asked to snap a picture of us. She really seemed to be enjoying herself, just like the rest of the staff, who were friendly and welcoming. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy some great food and Cleveland's best service! read more

We are really confused about all the 5 stars, must be a lot of tourists and other non repeat business. Sounds like there was a change of ownership/management a little over 5 years ago. May have previously been a great place but we advise caution now. We ate here while in town visiting with a few friends. After being a little put off by the over the top waiter flair (we didn't come for a broadway show) we did not find the food impressive. Heavy on gravies, very Americanized paella. For $100 for two with no alcohol we would expect better quality. Salads were cafeteria grade and side dishes served family style was odd at this price point, and consisted of overcooked steamed vegetables, potato chips (why?) and "saffron" rice which was more like rice-aroni. Felt more like airline food than fine dining. Never had a rare-mid-rare filet mignon so improperly cooked to where I had to cut off the outer layer to eat it: black and tough on the outside, with the outer 40% overcooked to medium-well, about a couple mm of actual med rare, then inner 50% an edible rare. Hope this feedback finds its way back to the kitchens and results in more training or fixing the oven temp/process. read more

We had our Thanksgiving meal here today, and it was outstanding. We were a party of seventeen. The service was topnotch. As an example, it seemed that whenever I took a swallow of water, someone topped off my water glass. I had the NY strip steak which was difficult to cut. In fact I had to saw through it with my steak knife. Once I got a bite into my mouth, it practically melted. Our food came out very quickly. Gordon Ramsay would have been pleased because all of our food came out at the same time. The restaurant does not have it's own parking lot, but there's a paid lot nextdoor. read more

Not quite fine dining nor Spanish cuisine. Most of the menu items were Americanized food including crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms as apps and no tapas. They offer pasta as well which doesn't make too much sense but was ordered by someone at our table and not enjoyed at all. I had the stuffed salmon which is served with yellow rice which I believe was meant to be saffron rice with no saffron. It also came with a side of steamed broccoli and carrots which is really low effort for a fine dining restaurant. The salad that comes with the meal is overdressed with thousand island dressing. Very subpar food which could be whipped up better at home. We left quite disappointed. On a positive note the servers were very friendly and service was good. read more

Mallorca has good and exotic appetizers such as pulpo. Don't get me wrong. Pulpo is super delicious and one of my favorite. Sprinkle a bit of lemon onto the octopus makes everything comes together. The waiters/waitresses are super friendly and nice. However, their paella were super salty. I didn't feel all the seafood were coming together in this dish. I also got a garlic soup, it was a bit sour. Furthermore, their veal dish was very soggy. The breading was so super messy on the veal. The sauce in the veal dish did not complement the veal well at all. The stuffed crab in tilapia was okay. I thought the way they put the crab inside was a bit messy and watery. The yellow sauce in that dish was a bit source for my taste. Nevertheless, their sangria was pretty delicious and refreshing. The chocolate cake was dry; but their rum cake was good and moist read more

The service was good, for lunch there's parking on the street at meters. The food, my paella was a bit watery. The ingredients were good, the seafood was fresh. One huge jumbo shrimp, other smaller shrimp, scallops, mussels, oysters and chorizo. The desserts are mostly mousse type cakes and flan. The flan was excellent. The dining room is very nice, tables aren't too close together so you can talk. Overall it was a lovely lunch. read more

Not really that impressed decor old and dusty. food wasn't that good, rice had hard pieces in it like some was cooked some wasn't? Shrimp were tough and overdone stuffing was tasty with the crabmeat, the waiter was excellent however personally and great service I think he might be carrying this place with his personality and charm. They must have some special dish that I didn't try that keeps them in business. Not impressed with the food or decor. I would have gave them a 2 if not for the waiter he bumps it to 3. read more

It was my birthday yesterday, so my wife and I were looking for a place with great calamari and mallorca came up, since my mother was from Spain I decided to give it a try. First off the place is really really nice, second it was completely empty which is never a good sign but everything change after we had our appetizers. The server was amazing I'm sorry I didn't remember his name but he was the only one there, he was very attentive and knew the menu very well. The pulpo and calamari were some if not the best we had in Ohio, my entree was also delicious I got the pork chops and let me tell you those are the best ones I had ever had, my wife's and son's dishes were also fabulous. Mallorca is THE place to go if you're craving an authentic paella! I've been to this restaurant a few times and every time I think I'm going to try a different item on the menu, I always manage to order the paella. The dish is a large portion of super flavorful, fresh saffron rice mixed with all the classic ingredients (chicken, mussels, clams, shrimp... and tons of other seafood). It's definitely a great shareable option. I like to pair the paella with a glass of the white or red sangria- can't go wrong with either option! In addition to the delish food and drinks, the service is great! The waiters are always so kind, welcoming, and enthusiastic and seem genuinely happy to serve their customers.
