I stopped by Pier W for happy hour last week. They have one of the best views in Cleveland. Overall I thought my experience was great. I enjoyed the Poblano Hibiscus Margarita, so much I had 2. It was the perfect amount of spice and sweetness. As an appetizer I ordered lobster bisque and calamari. The bisque was so good. I should've ordered a bowl. The calamari was lightly breaded and served with 2 dipping sauces. As a meal I ordered the short rib pierogis and fries. Neither impressed me. I found the pierogis to be a bit salty. I was hesitant to order dessert because I had so much food, half of which I took home. However, I'm happy decided to order the warm cake with fresh berry topping. It really saved the day. The bartender/waitress was very attentive and actually recommended dessert. I plan to go back between I've heard the brunch is nice.

    Halibut special

Overall, the food, service and ambiance were all great. Terry was attentive, knowledgeable and had great suggestions. The calamari was well fried and crispy. We didn't enjoy the crab cakes as much as we thought we would - they were really soft and dare I say... mushy? The short ribs were tender and had a wonderful glaze and a good amount of it. The halibut special was fresh and summery and came with vegetable, a corn coulie and butternut sauce. The cedar plank salmon was prepared well and tender in the middle. The filet was cooked perfectly however the glaze was minimal and the potato was a tad overcooked and dry - good flavor though. All of the desserts were great be we agreed the crème brûlée was the best. To top it off, the views were great! Perfectly clear evening to see the skyline.

    Restaurant week menu 2026

This has been on my list of to-try restaurants and decided to finally try it during restaurant week. Ended up trying the cookie cookie cookie cocktail--sweet but perhaps a little too strong for my taste. 4/5 Always love complimentary bread rolls, so that's a plus. The two of us did the restaurant week menu ($45 each excluding tax) which included an appetizer, main course, and dessert. We ended up sharing it all the maximize the taste-testing, Appetizers: the beetroot mousse was perhaps my favorite--never had anything like it. It's a savory dish from the goat cheese but the beet mousse itself had sweet notes from the beets. 4.5/5. It actually went well with the bread rolls. The lobster bisque was decent but a little too salty for me. 3/5 Main course: I ended up with the rockfish. It was cooked perfectly, and I liked the gnocchi even more. 4.5/5 Tried the pork shoulder--it was good but didn't stand out to me. 3/5 Desserts: the bread pudding was highly recommended by the staff. 4.5/5 Definitely agree that this was my favorite compared to the devil's food cake, which may have had an off day, but unfortunately was too dry. 2/5 The staff were attentive. Absolutely love the views, which perhaps was the highlight of the restaurant. Parking available free in a designated lot outside. Overall food is pricey but decent if you're looking for place with nice views and service.

Beautiful Cleveland skyline from the roof deck.

Once again "Pier W" did not disappoint. The level of service is excellent. From the attentive people at the host desk, to the fun, efficient server at our table, to the floor manager that was so kind with his greeting. Everyone is extraordinary. The ambiance is always marvelous. White tablecloth dining in a spacious room with soft lighting that is not too dark and filled with the wonderful live piano background music. And, most importantly, the food is always excellent. Many thank-yous to the wonderful kitchen staff. I had a great Amaretto Sour from the bar. Followed by a shrimp cocktail for a starter. Then what I had been looking forward to all day, Pier W's Famous Bouillabaisse... marvelous. Afterwards coffee and decadent eclairs. What a great evening in one of Cleveland 's great restaurants. Highly, highly recommend!

Crab stuffed shrimp atop swirled, creamy mashed potatoes and al dente aspiration...delectable!

As always, the Best in the CLE. Voted best Seafood in OHIO this year. No lie... freshness, brightness and robust flavores and recipes that are tried and true for historical dishes. Room with a view. Classic and classy. Today, we had the warm butter cake and added the bourbon caramel sauce (comes with the Bread pudding). if I was at home alone, I would have Licked the plate!!!!!!!!!

This is one of our favorite date night/special celebration restaurants for a reason. It's not just the beautiful lakefront views or the absolutely delicious menu, but also the wonderful top tier service that always keeps us coming back. We recently chose this spit for our one year wedding anniversary. We went with the very salad for our appetizer. I love that they split it between two plates for us. It had an amazing flavor profile. I chose the cedar plank salmon for my entree and it was cooked to perfection. My husband is a vegetarian, so he always appreciates that there is always at least one vegetarian option for him. Because we had said it was our anniversary, the surprised us with some delicious chocolate covered strawberries and a glass of champagne in the house. One of the thoughtful extra steps they take to make for an elevated experience. We opted to take them home though because we had our heart set in the warm butter cake which was absolutely to die for. Pier W is the perfect spot to celebrate!

The food was expensive but phenomenal. ( I'm an accountant so I count every penny ) Our server was friendly and chatted up my husband as they are both musicians. Dim lighting and a piano player made for a lovely evening.

    Beef short rib pierogies

Pier W really hit the mark with attentive staff (valet, hostess, server, bussers, etc.). We were lucky enough to have Teri as our server and her kindness as well as knowledge of the menu were phenomenal. For an appetizer, we had the beef short rib pierogies and they were okay, while the clam chowder was silky and delectable. The presentation of the bouillabaisse was impressive, the flavors were on point and the only issue was that a couple of the mussels were gritty. We liked the flavors of the pacific rockfish marsala, but the trumpet mushrooms were tough/stringy to cut through and we prefer our gnocchi to be pan fried a bit for texture, which is definitely needed in an entree comprised of soft fish and shiitake & cremini mushrooms.

Amazing food as always. The food, lake view, and service will keep you coming back for more. Tonight, I had the black cod dinner with coconut rice. Crème brûlée was amazing with coffee. The happy hour drink selections caters to everyone. I love the calamari and sauces here. Piano man helping anyone relax and enjoy their parties.

Excellent food and service. When you walk into the restaurant it is a nice feel if elegance. I had lots of seafood that night including the oysters. Amazing.

This place is highly recommended for its view and brunch. We decided to check out the brunch yesterday. There is ample parking upfront so that's great. We were seated immediately (pro tip don't make a 2pm reservation if you are coming in for the brunch--get an earlier one). We were seated at the end table near the entrance but still have a semi decent view of the lake. The food items are predominately seafood. I really enjoyed the salmon in dill sauce. The salads although plentiful are not all that flavorful (pasta salad was bland). The buckeye dessert was my favorite.

Do they have many vegan options?

They don't have a ton but they do have a few.

Did they do away with their amazing happy hour? That would be such a shame.

    It is M-F 4:30-6pm now

    What time is happy hour?

Specifically, it is 4-7p (M-F), 4-6p Sat and 4:30-6p Sun... clearly, I am there too often!

A few things to note if you decide to try it out: there are no reservations. Seating is first come, first served, and a line forms outside in the benches. I started my breakfast with some freshly brewed coffee that they kept topping off throughout the morning. I also get some fresh fruit and the strawberries were sooo sweet! Get the fruit, because it's a nice snack while you wait for your meal to come out. For my entrée, I ordered two buttermilk pancakes and a side of eggs scrambled with cheese and the home fries. The pancakes were fluffy and the syrup was nice and thick. I loved how the eggs came out. They were cooked perfectly with cheddar cheese. And the home fries stole my heart. How a restaurant prepares their home fries sets the tone for me anywhere. They were seasoned very well and I could tell that they are a great foundation to the entrees on the house specialties menu. I will be returning to try some of the savory dishes very soon!

We found TownHall, and it wasn't far from where we were. We got lucky and found a parking spot on the street right across from the restaurant. When we went inside, we noticed there are two different sections--one for dining and the bar area, and another that appeared to be more for takeout and quick service. We were seated fairly quickly and chose to eat inside since it was getting later in the evening. I had found TownHall on Yelp but honestly didn't spend much time looking at the menu. I trusted some of the highly rated reviews from Elite Yelpers and figured we'd give it a try. Our server was very friendly and asked if we had been there before. When we said no, she took the time to explain the menu and how the restaurant focuses on organic and healthier ingredients. My wife and I don't typically dine at organic-focused restaurants, so we didn't realize that was TownHall's concept. She did a great job explaining the menu and pointing out some of the more popular items. My wife ordered the grass-fed burger with Brussels sprouts, and I ordered the steak bites with white rice from the appetizer menu. While we were waiting for our food, we witnessed something that was a bit disturbing. A customer had a dog sitting on a bar stool next to him. An employee brought over a cup of whipped cream, and the customer fed it to the dog directly on top of the bar. The dog then proceeded to lick the bar top. A short time later, someone brought the customer a plate of food, and he appeared to encourage the dog to eat from the bar area as well. Personally, I didn't think that was very sanitary and felt it could be a health concern. Thankfully, the food completely changed the tone of our visit. When our meals arrived, we were genuinely surprised by how good everything was. The grass-fed burger was cooked well and had great flavor, and the steak bites were outstanding. The sauce paired perfectly with the rice, and it ended up being one of the best dishes I've had on our trip. Despite the issue we observed at the bar, the food and service were excellent. Based on the quality of the meal alone, we would definitely consider returning the next time we're in Cleveland but after seeing the dog lick all over the counter and not get cleaned probably not. Would have given a lower star but the food was good management must have thought the dog at the bar was fine?
