We met ten friends at this restaurant in Westlake for a weekday dinner. Service - from setting up the table to taking orders to bringing us free sangria to top off the evening - was fabulous. Our server was gregarious and answered all questions. The food was very tasty, well presented and large in portion size. I started with the garlic soup. Super flavorful and mellow but deep garlic flavor. Definitely would get again. For a main I opted for a special: flounder stuffed with shrimp in a brandy sauce. Amazing flavor. The table shared a dish of rice which was very good. My no seafood eating gf got the short ribs and she loved them. Soft, falling off the bone and with great flavor. A legend in Westlake, I know you see it on the corner of Detroit...so park that car and get inside! The menu is HUGE, you will leave stuffed and the service is attentive and fantastic. The drinks are delicious, yes I said delicious, the sangria is made simple and not full of unnecessary fruit salad. Then you move on to the appetizers, but the whole menu is really made up of delicious little plates. The bread and oil is great, you can use it to dip so many meatballs, shrimp skewers, soup, lamb shank and more. The flavors are authentic and rich, so go hungry and don't be afraid to try something new. It was just okay for us. For a Saturday night it wasn't busy, sometimes not a great sign. The wine selection was amazing and unique and the waiter helped us choose a Portuguese wine that was excellent. I appreciated the little gratis dessert port at the end of the meal too. They have a patio which is quite nice though by a busy noisy road. The food was just okay...The menu huge and overwhelming. I think it would have been better if the menu were smaller so they could concentrate on doing a few things really well rather than a ton of things so-so. I have to say that looking at the outside of the place I was hesitant. But the parking lot was packed on Saturday night and we had heard good things. It's a big lot too. The restaurant has an old world Spanish/Latin vibe. The service is impeccable. Our wished Marcello was fantastic as was the support team. We had a scallop and short rib tapa to start on brochette, with a light sauce. The scallops perfectly cooked u10s melted in your mouth. The combination delicious. All entrees come with salad or soup. The house salad had a Russian dressing and was very good. We share an entree as it was a late dinner. An osso buco special. It was also yummy and portion generous as we took one piece home. The osso buco fall off the bone tender. The fingerling potatoes and carrots properly cooked. The sauce wonderful. The entres came with Spanish rice, side veggies of carrots, zucchini and broccoli, house made potato chips. After every meal you get a glass of ruby port on the house. We were definitely charmed. So my husband left his visor from the British open so we had to go back on Monday. We noticed they have all day oyster special on Mondays $1.25 raw and $2 each for Rockefeller. So we stopped for lunch and took our daughter. We had a dozen of the blue points and the bass fillet sandwich. Out daughter had the portobello mushroom stuffed with mozzarella and tomatoes and balsamic. The oysters large and very fresh. The basa beautifully crispy on outside and moist inside on a wonderful roll - light and airy. The portobello combo delicious. This is a gem in Westlake. My sister and I love to go to the theatre and stop for dinner on the way home. Our first visit was after seeing a Spanish based play. I was so impressed with the menu. Everything was tapas (small plate). We were able to share multiple small plates to experiment with menus items that we had never been exposed to. I was able to try steak and tuna tartare. My sister won't eat anything raw but found many other items on the menu that made her happy. They did use a deliver service for a while allowing me to try different items at home. Sadly, they have discontinued deliveries. Unfortunately, I do not get out often and appreciate meal delivery services and hope to get back to orderingTapas soon. I've eaten here numerous times and the menu is extensive. Everything has been amazing. The service is amazing. The seafood is amazing. The Dover sole is deboned tableside which is fantastic. The sides come with every entree and include generous portions of soup or salad, rice, and a vegetable. The seafood platter is unbelievably good with huge pieces of shrimp, lobster tail, and octopus. The waiters and waitresses again are super attentive and knowledgeable without being overly so. This is definitely a top 3 restaurant in all of Cleveland metro! read more

Had an amazing dinner last night at Sangria. We started with stuffed banana peppers, a seafood soup, a Caesar and the grouper ceviche. The grouper ceviche was incredible! For our mains we had seafood paella and the seafood platter. Both were perfect. We had the red sangria, some other cocktails but the star was the Spanish coffee made table side by our amazing server Kadris. He was a delight and so funny. My sister was celebrating her birthday so they brought out a flan and sang. Flan was amazing as well. I can't wait to bring other people back and experience this little gem. Guys, I just had the most amazing, high-end meal I've ever had while living in Cleveland. The aptly named Sangria y Tapas, was well-prepared as a group of ladies and I descended upon them for a long Sunday lunch yesterday. We had reservations and were lead to their very classy private dining room where the attentive owner and staff told us a list of the specials and promptly took our food and drink orders. Everything they listed sounded amazing! Every time he mentioned a specialty, we were all drooling! Most of the dishes were fish focused. Also, the service was top-notch. They were on the ball for water and drink refills and someone was always in reach whenever we needed attention. After much internal debate, my budget helped me decide on what to order.Even though I really wanted some fresh fish, the cheap-o in me chose to get paella with just chicken and chorizo. I also ordered a side of patates bravas and 2 pieces of oyster Rockefeller. My bill was around $40 dollars. I probably didn't need the patatas bravas but I had a carb craving that needed to be quenched. After realizing later that they also bring chips, rice, and vegetables to each table, I REALLY shouldn't have ordered so much. The complimentary bread was fine. It is served warm which is a nice and thoughtful touch. But don't bother filling up on bread because you'll want room for the delicious tapas and mains. My paella was the best I've ever had! And while I've had oysters Rockefeller at the New Orleans restaurant that invented them, these were almost as good! I ended up bringing most of my patatas bravas and paella home so I could extend my meal all the way to dinner! And boy, they were the best leftovers I ever had!! Came here as a date night and the ambiance was so intimate and felt really upscale. The night we went half the building didn't have power due to the weather but it didn't interfere with our date at all. We had wine table side, and our waiters suggestion was perfect. The bread served with the oil, balsamic, & Parmesan was delicious. My pasta was a safe choice. They have a big menu and I wasn't sure what I really wanted but the pasta was good. My husband liked his also but again it was a safe choice for us since the menu was big. We finished our meal with some port and it was my first time trying it but it was really rich and smooth. We enjoyed an early dinner at Sangria Y Tapas 5/18/2025. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. I enjoyed a very nice white sangria while we waited for our dinner. The Chilean Sea Bass was outstanding. My husband chose two tapas plates, shrimp & good chorizo. Both were excellent. Our server, Marcello, was very friendly and attentive. He also brought plates of rice and vegetables. After our entrees Marcello brought a very nice port for us. The dining room was comfortable. We will undoubtedly be dining here again. Live in Chicago, but traveled through Westlake and ended up having dinner there with my best friend. It was absolutely awesome! The service was lovely and the ambience was very very nice. We ordered a lot of different foods and every single thing was beyond delicious. We ended up there because we were staying at the Holiday Inn express nearby and it sounded good. Well, it was so good that we went completely out of our way coming home from the East Coast just to eat there again! And, we will be back! read more

I love this place, I live close and it's my go-to for a nice meal and sometimes I just get food to-go. Everything I've ever had was delicious. The octopus "pulpo a la sangria" is amazing, and if you don't wanna see the suckers they can shave them off for you. And the salmon carpaccio is another favorite. Vegetarians- try the breaded balsamic artichoke appetizer it's delish "Alcachofas Tiera del Fuego" ! Nice big menu, lots of options and Marco is a gem, I adore him, and he makes the best Jalapeño Margaritas which aren't on the menu. read more

This was a disappointing first experience at Sangria Y Tapas. There seemed to be multiple large group celebrations/events going on at the same time, and it was clear the servers were overwhelmed. When our waiter brought our food, we began moving the plates as they were placed in front of the wrong people. When we started to move them, the waiter told us we were "actively working against him." We had the asparagus, garlic shrimp, pear salad, and grape salad to eat. The pear salad was good, everything else was just okay. Impeccable Service!! The wait staff is amazing, the Server was amazing, which is the main reason I'm giving 3 stars. With that said, the entire culinary experience of Tapas and Entre was underwhelming and overpriced. Below is what I ordered from Best to worse: Grilled Octopus- best dish we ordered, the octo was cooked perfectly and was packed with flavor. I'll even dare to say it was the best octopus I've ever ordered (comparing this to Japanese prepared Octopus) Mushroom risoto- was interesting but nothing I'd order again Goat special- tender but lacking any real Portuguese or latin flavor. Grouper Ceviche- was pickled and not fresh, and had a pinkish tone, was not that good. Soup- tomato based browth w/ spaghetti noodles has similar flavor to the last few bites of a spaghetti and meatball dinner- wasn't that pleasant, like water downed sauce broth, I couldn't finish it. I really wish the food had better flavor and there was a standout dish that is begging me to come back, but I was not impressed and my wallet is now hurt. I feel like their market is the "Boomer" Demographic, that may not know what these dishes are supposed to taste like. They seem to have a solid following and good reviews, just this place is not for me. I do want to promote again the staff and service is so amazing. We had toast points with caramelized onions, goat cheese and arugula. drizzled with balsamic. our favorite dinner thing!! Shrimp in garlic sauce. simple and very very good. 4 oz. filet medallion with mushroom sauce ( a light sauce not creamy) not your mom's stroganoff stuffed banana peppers with Spicy italian sausage ( great flavor not very spicy - have no fear ). Jill had their white sangria this time! will do red next time. we ended with what might have been our favorite dessert in recent years. Almond Cake. balanced with almonds, creme, whipped cream, cake and a strawberry garnering. drizzle of caramel. I wanted to take two slices home. Sangria y Tapas is one of my favorite food spots in Cleveland. It's a strong menu and consistently delicious. My favorite things on the menu are its Gambas a Ajillo (shrimp with garlic) and Pulpo ala Galleca (octopus with paprika). The gambas is so decadent, perfectly cooked and swimming in this rich garlicky olive oil with sweet bits of sautéed garlic. The pulpo is so well prepared. It's sweet and very tender, drenched in this smokey, slightly sweet olive oil sauce. When I'm done with both dishes, I ask for more bread to sop up the remaining sauce. Also delicious on their menu are the Ceviche de Grouper (or Gambas), which is so fresh and light; and their Croquettes, which are deep fried filled with ham and cheese and drizzled with a little honey. Their Paella is okay. It offers all the elements of this traditional Valencian favorite, however, it's missing an important part: the socarrat (crusty/ crispy caramelized bits at the bottom of the pan). This is, in part a result of their use of a calderon versus a traditional Paella Pan. This is a great place for folx who are interested in stepping outside of their food "comfort zone" because the plates are small and offer a wide variety of options (from "safer" to more "challenging). I enjoy Sangria y Tapas. It's a standout in the Cleveland food scene for of its variety, taste, and consistency. read more

What a jewel of a restaurant. It's been a while since I have been to a restaurant that had so many menu options. It was a little overwhelming (not knowing what to choose from so many options)--and they had 5 or 6 specials that were not even on the menu. In a Spanish/Portuguese restaurant, I almost always have octopus. They had the most tender octopus that I have ever had, and the roasted goat (special) was amazing. Dinner was amazing including the Sangria Martini. The only feedback would be perhaps a few more restaurant-based cocktails on the menu. The wine list was quite extensive as well. read more
