Excellent dinner with 6 friends, from wine tasting and selection, service and food. Everything was superb. Restaurant is smallish and on the end of a strip building, so might sometimes need a reservation, which we had. Bar set up for about 10, and seating was comfortable. We could all hear each other talk without issues. Food excellent and plentiful. We tried the zucchini, grilled cheese and the filo-spinach appetizers. I ate seabass and it was plentiful, beautifully presented and cooked and delicious. Photos of a few other entrees Wine flowed, sticking to Greek selections that paired well with the food Overall great experience, and for appetizer, 2 meals and a 2 bottles we shared, was 160$, and that seems reasonable. We will gladly go again read more

Highly recommend if you're looking for great Greek food and top-notch service. We'll definitely be back. read more

Taki's Greek Kitchen is so warm and cozy inside - which I wasn't expected since it's in a strip mall plaza! It had a decent amount of guests, being a Monday night in January. I enjoyed the Saganaki appetizer and the Lavraki (Sea Bass), see photos attached. Madison was our waitress and she was very welcoming and a wealth of knowledge on the menu items. She provided some appreciated recommendations! read more

We always enjoy coming to Taki's. It's the best Greek restaurant we've been to. I had the Pikilia, that was a skewer of beef and pork with sausage, onions and peppers and Yukon gold potatoes. It was delicious! My wife had the Moussaka and she loved it. Our prompt, friendly service from Darrien on a busy Saturday night was great. The inside was cozy with a center room fireplace and view of the chef's cooking the fabulous food. If you are looking for a great Greek restaurant for your next date night, this place is it, and is definitely worth the drive. Best to make reservations in advance. read more

It was my first time here and I was very impressed! We walked in on a Saturday evening, it was 5:30. There was only one table occupied, but apparently all the other tables were spoken for with reservations bc we were told we needed to be out by 6:30. We were seated next to the fireplace and it was super cozy! Our server was warm, welcoming, positive, and friendly. She was awesome! We got spinach pies and the spicy hummus for an app and both were delicious!! We each got a "gyro" for our meal. My husband got a chicken one and I got the eggplant one. We agreed they were both good, but would want to try something else next time. The surprising winner was the little side salad our meals came with. The dressing was DELICIOUS ! I loved how many vegetarian options there were here! We 100% recommended and will come visit again! read more

Such a cute cozy place! We stopped by on a Tuesday and got one of the last tables. Our server was nice, our food was nicely paced - we got an app to share and 2 entrees. I got the moussaka and it tasted just like it did in Greece. The ekmek for dessert was awesome. Can't wait to go back and try something else! read more

It's great. It's lovely. The set up of the place is like being in your own home or in a friend's living room. It's with a fireplace and stockings hung around the fireplace. And the food is great too. I had the chicken grilled with tomatoes and onions in a grilled pita. Very delicious. read more

Great experience. We took our sons looking for gyros and found a great place that does not serve gyros but, great authentic Greek food. Our sons both discovered a new flavor which was excellent. read more

Something happened to me recently at Taki's that has not happened to me in decades of eating out. I asked our server to see if the bartender could put an extra cherry in my and my companion's cocktails. The drinks arrived with the extra garnish. Imagine our surprise when we were charged $2 -- a buck each -- for the added cherries. We were flabbergasted. I gave the restaurant one star -- the food and service actually merited four+ stars -- because bad reviews tend to draw attention and I wanted all who read this to be aware of this outrageous extra charge. It's this sort of petty money-grubbing that loses customers. read more

I've been dining at Taki's for 11 years. the menu offers amazing, authentic Greek dishes, along with seafood, beef, lamb dishes, and vegetarian options, They also prep creative salads, and desserts(!!) with great drink and wine choices. Most of all, Taki, Steve, Angel and the other servers and food prep crews always make me feel welcomed and valued. I never leave at the end of my visit feeling anything but full, happy and grateful to have this gem nearby.. it is my favorite place to eat. read more

I'm sure it had to do with what I ordered but I didn't enjoy my choice. I ordered the Kotopoulo souvlaki but waitress thought I ordered the grilled vegetable soulvaki. It took forever to get the correct meal--many of our group were done when I received my meal. It was very difficult to eat due to the size of chicken pieces. Brought most of it home for my husband to finish. Don't recommend this. read more

Our meal was extremely delicious. For starters, the Avgelemono soup and Saganaki were what we've been hungering for here in Cleveland (coming from Greek restaurant-land, Chicago). The soup was thick and lemony, and the Saganaki actually flambeed, not just pan-fried. The entrees (we had Moussaka and a Pork Chop special) lived up to the expectations that the first two dishes set. And we finished the meal with a memorable flourless chocolate torte. In addition, the service was as great as the meal, and the ambiance was lovely. read more

Some of the best Mediterranean food around! Quiet, low lit, excellent service, delicious food. I'm plant based and they do not disappoint!! (Vegan for search purposes). Beautiful outdoor patio. Easy to get to. Don't drink but the bar area is nice and their wine selection looks extensive & like a commonly ordered item. Take dessert to go up to the Lake! Watch the sunset to end the evening on a sweet note read more

I tried this restaurant on Saturday night and boy was it busy. The service was very friendly and prompt and me & my party were seated at the bar. If you plan to go for dinner I do highly recommend reservations. The food was very good and was some of the best Greek cuisine I have ever had. I definitely will be back as this was a very good experience. read more

Taki's is great, but it is pretty difficult as a celiac! I did not even make it through dinner..... That said, our server was wonderful, and did her best. My gyro-connoisseur husband liked, but did not love the gyro. The pita bread looked amazing, and I was told it was. I had the kitchen salad with grilled chicken, which was juicy and flavorful. Taki's is very popular and busy, and the staff is great, especially the bartenders. Give it a try!!! read more

Taki's Greek Kitchen is a hidden gem in Avon Lake, Ohio. It is a small, family-owned restaurant that serves authentic Greek cuisine. The menu features a wide variety of appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts. I had the lamb shank, which was slow-cooked and falling off the bone. It was served with a side of roasted vegetables and rice. I ordered take out and waited at the bar for my order. I over heard fun conversation between the bartender and what seemed several regular patrons. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. My order came in an acceptable wait time and was packaged perfectly for transport. Overall, I highly recommend Taki's Greek Kitchen. It is a great place to enjoy a delicious and authentic Greek meal. read more

Taki's Greek Kitchen - Lamb Shank - Greek Near Me - Avon Lake, Ohio

Unassuming exterior hides the authentic Greek experience. This is a fine dining restaurant serving a multitude of hot and cold Greek appetizers and main plates including lamb shanks and chops, mousakka, sea bass, and many others. We were pleased with everything we ordered and noted the seasoning was perfect. There is a good selection of wines and mixed drinks. Our server was very attentive and helped explain the menu options. The staff was very friendly and appreciative. Two items we ordered were especially good, the spanakopetis as an appetizer and the lamb chop main plate were the best we ever had. Come expecting a great meal and you will not be disappointed. The ambience was very nice. It was overall quiet with pleasant music in the background. The decor and lighting is pleasant. read more

Delicious food. Bathrooms are spotless and nice. Nice vibe. I highly recommend. Good service.

My wife and I went to Taki's because a friend of mine recommended it and he was right about the service and the food. The had a Valentine special that was simply amazing. The fireplace was centered in the room and the lighting was perfect. My steak was cooked to perfection. The place is small and cozy and you had better make reservations in advance. read more

Good service; nice surroundings; decent food. But there is a reason Taki's does not show any prices on the menu presented on line. It is seriously overpriced! One example: do you want to spend $17.50 for a small bowl of calamari, ie half the size of the same appetizer served elsewhere? If so, Taki's Greek Kitchen is the place for you! read more

The service was second to none. Not sure why we have waited so long to come back. Did not have reservations, but they made an exception. The sea bass was amazing, and looking forward to trying new things read more

A group of six of us came to eat on a Tuesday early evening. When I made the reservation I was told that any group of five or more will be charged $25 for each person who doesn't attend. If the numbers change, they must be notified within 24 hours. One of our friends had an emergency at 4pm and had to cancel on us. Clearly, I could not have known this and called it in 24 hours prior. We tried to reason with the owner who would not budge. We certainly understood that if an entire group canceled, or if this was on a weekend, but it was on a Tuesday and our number difference did not change the table size. There are emergencies that occur and should be considered, but the owner would not accommodate us. To add insult to injury, the website states that parties of TEN or more will be subject to this policy, NOT a group of six. Our group will not be going back to Taki's. read more

We took our friend there for her birthday and it was sublime. But this is Taki! Is anyone surprised? I had a heavenly spaghetti with shrimps, oysters and something else. It was so good. Taki's been in restaurant business all his life and you can tell. One of my friends had an enormous salad and the birthday girl had fish. The three of us were ready to lick our plates. An unexpected treat was the dessert which Taki picked for us, and it was on the house. I highly recommend this place. read more

Tuesday night about 7 when I arrived, Service was a little slow to start with but excellent through the rest of the meal. Everything was amazingly good. The Greek olives were a good choice to start the meal. The hummus and pita bras was very good. The special stuffed cabbage was not like anything I have had before and had excellent flavor. Taki's is in the "expensive but worth it" category for us. We went there for a special occasion and were wowed. Well, I will say that sitting near that big fireplace was a bit warmer than we wanted, but everything else about the place was great. The atmosphere was elegant and quiet. The servers were attentive and very nice. The food was GREAT. We had the saganaki (can't go to a Greek place and not get it), the roasted chicken, the lavraki, and the Saturday special (an enormous skewer of chunks of beef, pork, and sausage). It was all delicious, and the portions were generous enough that we had about two meals' worth left over for the next day. Definitely want to go back. read more

We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant as out-of-towners because it was on our way back from the hospital. What a find! Lovely ambience and Angel seated us near the cozy fireplace. It was not crowded at 8 pm on a weekday. Excellent service! We shared calamari with fresh tzatziki, and fresh pita and hummus. I had the excellent pork chops and he had Arni Youvetsi (lamb shank with orzo) and we finished both because they were delicious. We shared a piece of baklava for dessert, which came with vanilla ice cream and berries. I would definitely return! read more

Authentic and delicious Greek dishes, served on a beautiful patio. Try the summer cocktails. Don't miss this place!

This place is awesome. Classy joint, high end dining & clientele all the way. Make a rezzie just in case. Nice little patio but the weather has been lousy so... the boss man used to work at The Maisonette, the quintessential French restaurant in Cincy. Heartbreak hotel in the wine community when they closed around 2000. The Greek fare here is fantastic. I always get the moussaka, really kind of a Greek shepherds pie. Piping hot, wonderful flavored ground beef w potato & eggplant in there. Big ass bowl it's quite a meal TRY IT. my brother gets pasticio which is a nice Greek lasagna Monday special. For the other guys they have a great steak. They do the flaming Greek cheese. They don't light it at the table & yell opa! but it's still fun. The lamb chops are the house specialty, wonderful lamb pops if u will. My mom got them, better than anything we've ever made on the grill. It's the marinade I think. This place, judge smeals would say, is top notch TOP NOTCH. PS the ekmek custard pastry dessert is so good I died. Everyone else can give up dessert. Be there or be square & dress nice. read more
