Came here with 2 colleagues on a weeknight. It was bustling but we were seated after a short wait. Great oysters, drinks, wine service, and food service. Nice bar too!
The restaurant welcomes you with valet ($20), a grand entry, and a host stand with kind folks. If you go on a busy holiday or weekend (or both like I did), you'll like need to wait for your table at the benches by the entryway or at the bar. Once seated, you'll enjoy relatively attentive waitstaff, bread for the table, and standard white linen service. The crab cake is good for a small appetizer for two people, For entrees, we enjoyed the scallops main and the special halibut dish; both were fat-forward (buttery/oily). For dessert, the creme brûlée lacked the signature crackly top which was a bummer. For drinks, the French 75 was served in a coup and unbalanced but the wine and mocktails are a solid choice. If you're looking for a solid, upscale dinner, check this place out.
Nothing great nothing horrible. I got the shrimp off of the low calorie menu and the shrimp itself was very juicy and fast but the sides were so lack luster. The brown rice was so grainy tasting and the broccoli was way too salty. Things can be low calorie and still taste decent guys! The butter on the dish was not it. The free bread was tasty and the butter was perfectly whipped. The scallop was pretty solid as well but still a bit salty. It says there's a dress code but we went during lunch and it wasn't anything too fancy. I also tried the lobster pasta which was pretty tasty but I wanted bigger chunks of lobster. Service was great.
Lovely restaurant but walking in and hearing music from "Journeys greatest hits" isn't fitting. Music sets the stage, this place is classier and deserves classy music. I was so excited for the octopus but it was so tiny, less than 3 ounces. Not worth the price despite being tender and flavorful. The lobster deviled eggs were a little dry and needed more filling. The beef carpaccio with truffle was fantastic! The swordfish was perfectly cooked and very fresh tasting. I appreciate their modifications and offering Brussels sprouts instead of potatoes. My waiter Jason was great!
Came here for my birthday dinner and left full! We ordered the calamari for an appetizer which was crispy and light. I got an espresso martini to drink and it was fine (I've had better elsewhere). For our mains, we split the Bluepoint haven which came with a lobster tail, shrimp, scallops and asparagus over mashed potatoes. The kitchen was nice enough to split and put them on separate plates. The scallops were a bit salty but everything else was good. We also ordered the Lobster Bolognese and this was our favorite dish! Super creamy, chunks of lobster, we were impressed. We got a creme brûlée for dessert which was a perfect way to end our dinner! Our server was super nice and the interior was pretty.
The food is good and it is an institution of its own, good place to bring out-of-towners as the ambiance makes it a pretty grand experience. This is definitely a place where you should go with the classics/dishes they do well.. stick to something they do well and something you know you like. Valet was $15 on a Friday night (non game night). If it were more than that, I probably would have ubered. You can pay upfront or upon pickup. I got the Filet Oscar which was good and cooked to my liking. The sides aren't anything special but good. I appreciate their selection of specifically west coast oysters. Service is ok, can be a little awkward. For example, our bread came out well after our appetizers (oysters and mussels). As others mentions, the lobster mashed potatoes are more like mashed potatoes with the essence of lobster which is sort of disappointing.
Nice upscale seafood place! We went for lunch with a 1pm reservation on a Friday afternoon and it was not too busy. I got the lobster bisque and tried the Filet Oscar as well. The lobster bisque was hot and creamy with good bits of lobster in it, great with the free bread they give you. The filet Oscar was cooked nicely, although the crab they put on top was probably not needed. The mashed potatoes have ginger in them which I was not really a fan of so heads up. Solid service, nothing crazy. Would get the lobsters bisque again!
We came here just for happy hour on a Sunday night and had a great time! We were able to get seated right away and the prices are very reasonable for happy hour at the bar. Service was excellent and the food was very good! We loved the lobster risotto especially and the oysters were very fresh. It was a great place for a casual hangout!

Little did I know, one of my favorite restaurants in Ohio, is also their "sister" restaurant, Cabin Club. I was welcomed in by Adrian, the Asst GM. I mean this man needs to travel the world to train on customer service!! Adria was my waitress and she was so nice that I felt like I had known her forever. The subtle lighting and elegant dining made for a relaxing evening. Remember when I said when you walk in the door, the experience begins...well even the walk to the restroom is included! As you walk to the restroom, take time to embrace the multiple silver spoon awards. I'll definitely be back! This was a dining night I'll never forget...even though I was too tired from work to eat more!
Beautiful restaurant. Dined here with my friend on a Tuesday evening and had wonderful service. The decor was so pretty for the holiday season - love the touch of blue glassware to complement the restaurant theme. I ordered the grouper and it was good! The lobster mashed potatoes were interesting - I think it was just weird for me to have lobster mixed with potatoes but they were still good. The grouper was cooked perfectly. My friend loved the deviled eggs and Mac and cheese was nice and creamy. Not pictured was the arugula salad we started with that was also solid. I'd love to come back and try a more traditional dish like their salmon or the mixed seafood or filet. Definitely a great date night or celebratory spot to take someone you'd like to impress.
Great waitstaff, very welcoming and personable. Ambiance was solid. Very breathable, high ceilings, and plenty of room. The food was good quality, but smaller portions than I expected considering the price. Go for the vibes and upscale experience, but probably not to get your fill. With that said, I'm also a hungry man, so others may be fully satiated after an entree. Overall great and would go back.
Was passing through Cleveland a couple of weeks ago and popped in to Blue Point Grille for an early dinner. And I'm really glad I did. The food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. Beef carpaccio = Delicious and super tender. The presentation was also very special. Calamari = Very crispy and well seasoned. Also loved the sauce. Oysters = So fresh and good. Caesars Salad = One of the best I've ever had. Very tangy and authentic. The drinks were also great - even the moctail. Definitely visit this place if you are ever in Cleveland.
This feels like quintessential Cleveland dining. Very decent food with little innovation in the kitchen, bar, or space. It's not bad food, but it's not terribly good either. Every dish is so traditionally executed that it really seems to be focusing on the crowd of the past. The caesar salad is an everyday caesar salad. The crab cake is a good crab cake, and the oysters are good - but nothing on the apps menu stands out as a winner. Then for entrees I had a special sockeye salmon that was supposed to be great, I asked for it rare - it came out dry. Now was it the best salmon I've had in Cleveland, yes it was, but it still wasn't cooked as I would have liked it. The spot is good if you're going after work for a dinner - but if you're on a date, there's better places to go, some of them are even in Cleveland.

Stopped in for lunch. Have always heard great things about Blue Point. Levi was my server and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made a good experience great. They have a generous menu for lunch. I had the lobster bisque which had a good amount of lobster, as well as the chicken and lobster pasta (forgot to take a picture). I was pleasantly surprised with how large the portion was that I had to take some home. read more

I was in town for a weekend and decided to check out this place based on reviews. Dining solo so sat in the bar area which had a nice ambience and felt inviting. The TV situation in the bar area was pretty lacking with very old, small TV's, so if you're wanting to watch a game while you eat, I would not recommend. Bartenders seemed more interested in talking to friends and wait staff over the patrons. There is an automatic 20% tip on your bill, so it's clear they aren't motivated to make sure you're happy with the service. They did make a good martini though. Ordered the Mussels and Caesar to start. Mussels were bland with very little juice at the bottom of the bowl and dried out mussels in the shell. I had to ask for salt, as what little juice there was, it was very under seasoned (not sure how you have under salted juice with mussels?). Caesar salad was fine, nothing to rave about, but I'd eat it again. For my main course I ordered the Nags Head Grouper, as the bartender said it was their signature dish, and the brussel sprouts as a side. The grouper was cooked well but the dish as a whole was not good. The "lobster" mash potatoes were basically bland mash potatoes with what I assume leftover lobster bisque mixed in for color. Not good. The spinach was fine but nothing special. You're basically paying for a dish with underwhelming flavor and a fancy potato chip as a decoration. Don't get trapped into ordering this. The brussel sprouts were so bad that they weren't edible. A grease, mushy, poorly fried mess with underwhelming flavor. I had two bites (assumed I got a bad first bite) and couldn't stomach anymore. The Bartendar at least recognized that I barely touched it and offered to remove it from the bill. Overall, this seems like a bit of a business travel/tourist trap. Somewhere to take people for what seems like a nice, expensive dinner, but it delivers very, very subpar food. Giving two stars because they at least refunded the grease brussels without me asking. Save your money and find somewhere else to dine. read more

We had an amazing server which we complimented to management. We had oysters, and tuna tartar along with some ready good dirty martinis. We are pretty disappointed with the King Crab. We understand market price and this being an expensive dish. We split the entree but from the picture you can see it ended up being 2 total legs (split in half between two people). For the legs being $170 you would think it would come with more than 2 legs total, you can see the second leg was also tiny! That was pretty disappointing it carried that price tag. read more

We stopped at Blue Point Grill for an early dinner after a visit to the children's science museum. The calamari was my favorite dish. It was crispy and perfectly flavored. I also enjoyed my salad and the scallops were delicious. I felt like it was pricey and we might skip it next time just because it's expensive. The quality was pretty good though. read more

While staying in downtown Cleveland, we decided on this place for the weekly "date night". We sorta didn't make reservations in time and recommend if you because this place fills up quickly. Nevertheless the hostess was kind enough to seat us near the bar in a high top pretty quickly and we did enjoy a nice dinner. Evelyn was our server and she made us feel right at home. She was super nice and gave us the run down of the entire menu plus the specials for the night. This place specializes in oysters and has many varieties from time to time. Evelyn was very kind and wanted us to taste some of the ones they had in that night. I went with the Lobster Bolognese and my gf went with the Swordfish which was very much in the New Orleans style. Both were well served and very tasty. We will have to be back for their Oysters and champagne on a happy hour soon because they have great specials for those times and for lunch as well. This is a nice place for a special occasion. In the heart of downtown. Parking is expensive but valet is offered. Nice clean interior look, lots of stairs to the bathroom in the basement which isn't ideal. Staff were attentive and efficient. Drinks were fresh. I ordered a non alcoholic and added alcohol. Lobster deviled eggs weren't anything to write home about but the crab cake was fantastic. The slaw and sauce that came with it were delish! Salmon was perfectly cooked and flavorful but the risotto had a bit of a bite to it, not my type of risotto. Mashed potatoes weren't stand out but the filet was to die for! Best one I've had in a long time! read more

Cocktails were so, so. Mine was warmish. My arugula salad seemed that it sat under the lights for a while. The oyster sampler was good. The grouper was good and it arrived sizzling hot. My partner ordered the lobster bolanaise (sp) was good as well. The service was really good but not too attentive. Overall, it was a good experience but I don't think we will return because it was just good. read more
It was so fun ordering Blue Point Grille's largest seafood tower! Everyone in the dining section watched as we got our food and we were so excited! Our group of three only ate this and barely touched the bread it came with and could still barely finish the tower. The oysters here are one of the best and aren't fishy at all. The lobsters were huge (fyi doesn't come with warm butter but you can ask for it). I really appreciated that our server told us that tip was included which sometimes isn't always made obvious to you so that was very kind of her! I can't wait to come back! read more
Blue Point remains a quintessential Cleveland dining experience. Food is excellent, service was spot-on. Portions were good size and served very hot. Pricing is fair for what you get. Be aware that a 20% service charge (the tip) is added to the bill. If I had one suggestion....been going here for well over ten years. The physical space, while nice, needs a new look or at least a big refresh. It remains one of The Land's best! read more

Came here for Happy hour -- excellent deals and selection of items off the HH menu. We got lots of oysters, which were good but not the best or freshest I've had, but a great deal at HH. The mushroom gnocchi was ok, a bit dry but flavor was good. The steak tartare was excellent, as was the lobster risotto. The salmon cesear was a good portion size but wish the romaine had been cut up into smaller bitesize pieces. All in all, excellent deal for HH here (bar only), also seems like a nice upscale place to dine. Parking can be tricky in this area, hopefully there's some street parking available. There are lots nearby too but they tend to be pretty expensive. Staff was attentive and service was quite fast. read more

Four of us dined last night for New Years Eve and had a terrific night out. Service was superb. Drinks were great. Bread served to the table was extremely tough to eat. In fact my brother and I enjoyed watching people at nearby tables tackle the task of eating the bread. If it wasn't for that I would have given this establishment 5 stars. My lobster with crab was excellent. Wife's grouper was good as well. Usually I go to Reds for New Year's Eve but I am glad I switched it up this year. read more

Pics say it all and we are frequent flyers here are BPG! To Honor my Mother of Mothers, we dined here for the umpteenth time. To me, the service even surpasses the food and ambiance. Our table was ready a few minutes after our reservation time of 8pm. Place was packed and loud. Cocktail menu was small but creative and a plain margarita I had was also nice. Our server was amazing. I told her about my dietary restrictions and she bent over backwards to ensure my drinks were made accordingly. The blackened swordfish I had did harbor a fantastic Cajun lightly crispy coating of blackened spices but was overdone and the characteristic large swordfish flakes were replaced with a really crumbly almost dry fish. This was not our first time at Blue Point Grille. But it was a first for their Feast of Seven Fishes. We had seen a segment on it, on New Day Cleveland. The Feast of Seven Fishes surpassed our expectations. It was seven courses (you could choose to do only 3), of absolutely delicious seafood! They served raw oysters, a lovely cold calamari, shrimp and citrus dish, crab fritters over hummus, an expertly roasted piece of octopus, beautiful scallops, and a branzino with crisp green beans. They finished with 3 delightful Italian cookies. Everything was cooked to perfection. Blue Point Grille's service is amongst the best. So glad we went and I highly recommend them! read more

Suit jackets are not required. I'd say business casual would be the proper attire. I send my clients to this restaurant all the time. Hope this helps! :)
