I went here for the first time last week and just about everything was great. The food was delicious. The service was great, but the booths were a little bit tight. I'm not a very large person at all, but it was hard to breathe with how tight I was in this one booth. It made the entire experience painful and really ruined it for me. Next time I go, if I go, I will have to ask for a table.

Not a hint of grey, perfect medium rare prime ribs - Two plates of prime rib with green beans, mashed potatoes, and sauce are shown, served in a restaurant setting.

I've been here twice for prime rib Wednesday specials and I will say the prime rib gives this place a 5/5!!! Not a tinge of grey on the ribeye cap, perfectly pink medium cook. I also enjoy their walleye bites and shrimp cocktail during happy hour at a price that can't be beat!

Crab Cake - Crab cake with corn, red and yellow peppers, and greens on a white plate, with a fork and a person's hand nearby.

Don's Lighthouse was a spot that I was so excited to try, but it was a bit of a disappointment. Our service was mediocre. First, we ordered drinks, two French Onion soups, and the Crab Cake. They were very good! The Crab Cake was the star of the show. I was most excited to have the Filet Mignon - I love a good steak and have heard decent things about this place! My date ordered the Steak and Lobster - he said that it was good but not the best thing he's ever had. I ordered the Filet cooked medium/medium-rare with the whipped potatoes and swapped the green beans with asparagus. It looked great, but was cooked to medium well when I cut into it. It was tough to chew and was a bit of a disappointment. Both the mashed potatoes and asparagus were not great either. I would give this place another shot but not any time soon.

Bar area - A restaurant bar with customers seated around the counter, open kitchen visible in the background, and festive decorations.

Have been here a few times in the past month or so, and the food has been just okay. The inside is very old-school Cleveland and the service has been just fine...but the food is somewhat lacking, especially for the price. First time through we had the fried calamari appetizer along with a Bistro salad (which had way too much dressing) and a French onion soup that lacked any depth of real onion flavor. At our last meal, my wife's fish dish was extremely dry and my short ribs were almost half fat that was inedible. Wish i had better things to say...we may still give them a try for Happy Hour and see how those menu items fare, but we will probably not return for a sit-down dinner.

Jumbo dirty martini hh prices - A martini with a lemon wedge and a beer are placed on black napkins on a wooden bar counter in a restaurant or pub, with patrons and a TV in the background.

Great old school charm at the bar. Happy hour is great with plenty of bar seats. We had a group of 9 people and it's not always easy to squeeze into a bar and have good conversation. Huge, tasty martinis!!! We did not go in the restaurant but recommend the bar!!

Two cocktails are placed on a wooden table, one with an orange slice and cherry garnish, and the other in a martini glass with lemon slices.

I've lived in Cleveland my whole life and had never been to Don's. We stopped in for a quick dinner and cocktail. They had the filet and lobster tail special that was $10 off making it $55. The lobster was cooked well and tasted good. It also came with drawn butter heated with a candle which is always a nice touch. Our server seemed to be overwhelmed with his section and was not attentive to us. He served us but was not friendly or trying to make us enjoy our dining experience. I was also disappointed by the steak. We ordered rare plus and it came out medium to medium well. It had a great grill flavor but needed a sauce so it wasn't dry. The cut of meat was supposed to be a filet but seemed more like a lower grade cut like a sirloin as it was hard to cut and tough. A filet should be tender and lean, almost melt in your mouth if prepared correctly. I also experienced stomach issues after our visit, which I am unsure if it was related to our food or not. We enjoyed dinner but because of our overall experience, it is likely we will not return.

Tough to find a fault with Don's 1. I prefer Monday burger night and happy hour in the lounge. 2. The staff is on it, they just don't make mistakes, and if they do, it's quickly fixed. 3. Drink menu is extensive and high quality. 4. Ambiance is a perfect mix of classy and casual. 5. Overall, wonderful place to eat and drink, would be my first choice for a business lunch or a happy hour with my employees. 6. Can't comment on the main dining room but I would be surprised if it did not have the same quality as the lounge/bar.

Food and service combined with the ambience unbeatable combination. I grew up near West 25th and Detroit... since the 60s!

I've been hearing about the "Aviator" for a long time and for one reason or another just never got…read morethere. Well we finally made it tonight. It is not what I expected. The facility is far bigger than I thought it would be. They have a central restaurant with multiple party centers on either side. It's a really BIG facility. New, modern, and quite attractive. With plenty of convenient parking. The wall of the restaurant that faces Cleveland Hopkins Airport is all glass. It affords you quite an impressive view of the airport and the planes landing. The staff we met was pleasant and efficient. Our server, Mina, did an excellent job all night. If there was a weak point, it would be the food. It was not bad (I'm trying to be kind); it was just uninspired, limited, and not really well prepared. Because they do not offer bread for the table our only option was to order the "Soft Pretzel". It arrived badly overcooked, crunchy not soft, and even boardering on burnt. The charcuterie board was OK, but uninspired. I ordered the "Lemon Chicken" which was a full half chicken in a reasonably good sauce. But the meat was dry and it came only with brussel sprouts (yuk!). My wife had the "Walleye" which she simply said was "okay"... oh well. Our guests weren't any more impressed than we were. I will say our coffee and "Pot de Creme" were very good... thank goodness. All in all, our overall experience was "meh"... just "meh". Sorry - really probably should be 3.5

Celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary called for something simple, yet memorable--and The…read moreAviator delivered exactly that. We dropped in for Happy Hour, looking for cocktails and a few bites, and were immediately struck by the well-appointed space. The runway views at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport added an unexpected layer of entertainment--watching planes take off and land while toasting 14 years of marital bliss felt like the perfect backdrop. We started strong with a French 75 and an Old Fashioned--both expertly crafted, but that Old Fashioned? Smooth, balanced, and memorable enough to set the tone for the entire evening. Wednesday happens to be Wing Day ($2 whole wings), and we took full advantage. We sampled Buffalo, Sweet & Tangy BBQ, Lemon Pepper Dry Rub, and the undeniable star of the show: Garlic Parmesan. Each had its own personality, but that Garlic Parmesan was simply elite. Service was impeccable--Emily was attentive without being intrusive, making sure our experience flowed as effortlessly as the cocktails. Speaking of which, round two brought a Cosmo alongside a repeat of that Old Fashioned...because when you find the right note, you stay in that key. For food, we shared the French Dip Baguette--shaved prime rib, provolone, horseradish aioli, and au jus done right--and paired it with the Mega Crunch Fries, elevated with sea salt, rosemary, and a light truffle oil drizzle. Simple menu items, executed with intention. We closed the evening the same way we began--together, with one final round of Old Fashioneds. A Happy Hour well spent. A celebration well honored. A 14-year journey still taking off.
