Terrestrial Brewing is located off Detroit Ave in the Gordon Square neighborhood. This very dog friendly brewery is always fun and inviting. The spacious patio is rumored to be expanding as well the 2nd level of the brewery will eventually be an event space. Their kitchen has recently expanded beyond guest spots, such as La Plaza so I'll need to update my review as soon as possible. We had a nice dinner at Terrestrial Brewing. It was a perfect night to sit on their dog friendly patio. We did not bring our dogs but many people did. It was fun having a drink and dinner while watching the dogs play in the grassy area near the patio. The beer and food were good. There is a good selection on the menu. Brunch looks good as well. While they didn't have anything specific in the new menu that was vegan they were knowledgeable and made a vegan tofu sandwich. The server did neglect to put in one of our orders so it was late to the table. When he realized the mistake he came to apologize. We very much appreciated that. Terrestrial has great beer options and is dog-friendly (which also means... friendly dogs ). I enjoyed both the Betelgeuse and the Road Tripel, though the Betelgeuse easily takes the cake. This is a great spot to hang out and enjoy one of their continuously rotating beers. The staff is friendly and attentive. If you're bringing a dog, they'll typically bring over a water bowl, and they genuinely seem to enjoy interacting with all the pups. Another highlight is that they currently offer five non-alcoholic beers. If you're out for a ride or a run, you can stop in and enjoy an N/A without worrying about stumbling through the rest of your workout. Based on at least half a dozen visits. Nice beer selection in a refurbished old building that has a cool vibe. Close to Edgewater park (down the hill) and in an area with newer condos embedded in an area down Detroit Avenue west of Ohio City. RR tracks right in back adds a unique twist. Lawn is nice if you have dogs and creates a relaxed atmosphere. Big fan of the vibe. Service has been hit or miss. Friendliness is usually OK, but had a few visits where getting seat or served was an issue. No-one around one time but was served at the bar and grabbed a seat at a table so OK. Same thing happened recently where no-one around to seat us (we had bicycles and really wanted to be outside) and when I went to the bar to get a beer was told I needed to get a seat. When I said I was outside was told to get a seat, as well as if indoors. I said I was at a picnic table next to the building and he said not their property with a bit of attitude. Fantastic beer!!! Somewhat strange food. I love the vibe and beer of Terrestrial. They allow dogs, which is fantastic and they have some of the best beer in the city, They change their beers often so there is always something new to try, Most recently, I tried the Raspberry Beret, which was a raspberry sour, super good. Also their En Garde Farmhouse Ale was tasty. Their food is sometimes hit or miss in my opinion. It feels like they often try to pair things that don't really go together or make sense. The wings, Korean BBQ cauliflower, and mac and cheese are pretty good. I got the gochujang sauce for my wings and loved it. I once got the candied bacon salad and added fried chicken. The salad came with a pretty tasty vinaigrette, however, the addition of the fried chicken plus the candied bacon made the salad pretty greasy. I couldn't really distinguish between the vinaigrette and the grease. I won't say I minded it thought lol. The chicken was cooked well and the flavors were good. The arancini balls are a miss. They don't have any marinara in-house and it comes with a pesto sauce that is just okay. Recently, I tried the fried burrata salad. Very strange. It was a normal salad with two huge mozzarella cheese balls. It just really didn't go together and left me feeling kind of confused. The berry balsamic glaze and burnt oranges were awesome for both the cheese balls and the salad, but it didn't make sense to have that all together. The servers are really friendly and it's a pretty chill spot. I'm sure that if I lived in Battery Park I would be so grateful to have this place as a neighborhood brewery. I came on a week night almost towards closing time. It was raining that night. People still lingered. Place is super dog friendly seeing a few other dogs. I sat at bar and had their fried chicken sandwich which isn't bad but it's just the chicken and bread and I think a slice of cheese. They need to serve this with coleslaw and it would be awesome. I came by for some much needed sustenance with a group of friends after spending time playing beach volleyball at Whiskey Island - just a short drive away. We relaxed on the patio outside over burgers and beers. The menu had all your classic bar snacks (pierogis, pretzels, brussels) and a selection of large plates (max & cheese, burgers/sandwiches). I had the fried chicken sandwich, which was delicious. The chicken was so juicy and had a lot of flavor. There was a tangy and spicy kick from the pickled peppers too! The waffle fries that came with it were nice and crispy. The meal hit the spot. Overall, we had a great time. Free street parking is plentiful in the front. The staff members were all very energetic. I would definitely recommend this spot for any gathering with friends over good food and beer. So you thought the vibes at Terrestrial Brewing couldn't get any stronger, eh? From the brewmasters of Edgewater comes Terra Bistro, Terrestrial's long awaited own kitchen. Guest kitchens no more! You can usually find parking in the designated spaces in front of the building or along the street in front of the Battery Park Lofts. Located just west of the original pub, Terra manages to make a block of concrete feel cozy. Part of this may be due to the warmth and easygoing vibes of the waitstaff themselves, who immediately make you feel at ease. The space is big enough to seat both parties of 10+ to casual date nights. The mood is half hipster gastropub, half sports bar but 100% where you want to be. Having talent from Lola in the kitchen, you can get quite a meal with just drinks and appetizers. Yes, even your vegetarian and gluten-free friends. Happy Hour gets you $1 off their tasty and already modestly priced beers, and some great deals on select cocktails and apps. Highly recommend splitting the Beer Cheese Dip which comes with a quantity of chewy pretzel bites that is simultaneously a plethora and also not enough as the Arnold Palmer butter (not a typo) and beer cheese are addictive. The accompanying pickles didn't stand a chance either. The Lions' Mane Wings are not actually chicken wings, but crisp morsels of mushrooms doused in dukkah. I thoroughly enjoyed stuffing my face with these but if you're expecting for real meat, this may be disappointing. The large plates are literally quite large. The Whole Bronzino is indeed a whole a$$ fish and the Duck Breast came with not one, but two generous hunks of tender, rare duck breast. I really enjoyed the mixture of influences tucked throughout the menu within each dish (kimchi, tajin, za'tar) and contrasting sweet and savory flavors within each dish. It's not a place where your chicken tender and fish sticks-loving uncle might favor, but will be a hot ticket for the food-adventurous. All our food came in a reasonable amount of time, and when we weren't chatting, admiring the cute glasses, or sipping yummy beer, each person had a view of at least one TV screen in the bar - each of which was broadcasting a different sports game. Fear not if you get beer bladder - there's three separate gender-neutral restrooms at the back for you to do your business and return for the next round. We popped in here on a Saturday around noon. There was honestly a decent crowd for them Just opening an hour before and there not being a big sporting event. There's a few tables, a lot of bar seats and a good patio. I don't know that I would come with a group over like 8-10 because there are not a ton of larger tables. I didn't love my beer, but it was fine. They tend to do a lot of IPAs which are not for me. If you like IPAs though, they have a decent amount of options. I love the glass they serve them in! The major highlight for me was the food. Although their menu is on the smaller size, i was so impressed. The black eyed peas fritters were cooked to perfection and didn't taste oily at all. The Brussels were also soooo good. The only thing that would've made them better if they were like baked/grilled so they were charred. But still had amazing flavor. They were brewing a cucumber wheat beer, so honestly might come back in a couple weeks to try that. Definitely recommend checking this place out. Bonus: this place is dog friendly!! read more

I loved it here! We're in town visiting and brought our dog, so we wanted a dog friendly place to eat, but it's a little chilly for patios still... Terrestrial was perfect because they let dogs inside! A lady at the bar next to us said that she had just brought her dog there earlier for dog brunch, and he had spaghetti and meatballs :) All the dogs were being chill and no one was barking or running around and it was really enjoyable and more places need to do this. Aside from dogs, the food and beer were really good too. I got a sour beer and the club sandwich and was a big fan of both. The club had mustard aioili and berry jam, which I thought was really interesting, and the pickles were clearly made with love. We came here on a Saturday to watch the Ohio State game. The brewery is in a super cool location and there were so many dogs there, which my daughter absolutely loved. It was also a great atmosphere for toddlers as everyone is laid back and they don't mind if your toddler is running around in open areas. The service here was also great. They were kind, quick, and prompt and also were so nice to my young daughter. The food was also great! We mainly got appetizers to split with our group and I would recommend everything that we tried. My salmon Reuben was unique and delicious but not worth $18. It was the size of a regular sandwich and on two slices of regular white bread- not rye as the menu said- but the salmon was in decent portion and not dry at all. This adorable brewery is located in a residential area but also right by some train tracks. It has seating inside and out and is dog friendly. I sat on the back patio and enjoyed a flight. I thought that they had great flavor. I loved the funfetti cake stout the best. We come here often on Sundays with our golden retriever because they are dog friendly and have a full on puppy brunch every Sunday with an amazing vendor who offers homemade farm to table delicacies for our beloved pets. We always enjoy tasting the new beers and wine as well as the brunch menu for the humans (haha). This time we tried the Nashville hot chicken with the homemade biscuits with apple butter. I loved the chicken - the biscuits were good I just didn't love the combo of the spicy with the sweet. The apple didn't go with the Nashville hot sauce IMO. But they were separately tasty on their own. The pierogies with the crème fresh are always a top choice and they fry their pierogies so they have a bit of a crispier taste on the outside. Super unique and filling! We've tried other staples like the smash burger, waffle fries and they are also soooo good, highly recommend. The location of this restaurant is nice and close to edgewater so you can make a day of being here for brunch (indoor or outdoor) and then going down to the waterfront. I stopped by Terrestrial for the first time over the summer and had a wonderful time enjoying the nice weather and sitting out on the patio! I think it's great that they are now serving La Plaza tacos because now you don't have to make the trek out to Lakewood to have some of their delicious tacos! (Also, let's be real, you really can't go wrong with tacos and beer, am I right?!) We were quickly seated out on the patio on a Tuesday evening. Terrestrial is incredibly dog-friendly; I saw numerous customers with their dogs on the patio. There's also large grassy area by the restaurant where people let their dogs run around, so this would be a great place to bring your pets. The food here was delicious (we stayed long enough I ended up ordering a quesadilla in addition to my tacos!) and complemented the beer really nicely. I really enjoyed this place. The beer was pretty good, the space quite large, and the employees were friendly enough. I just found it weird that we had no choice (on the first night there) to get table service, the bartender didn't let me order any of my drinks at the bar. The beer was good enough that we went back a second time, and we could order at the bar with no problem. Consistency would be great, or just, if the former is the policy, make that a little more clear. I will def suggest this place to friends. read more

I walked up to the bar to try and place an order - it took about 10 minutes to get the attention of the barkeeps - due to the fact that they were so busy. I ordered a tasting flight of the following brews: Public Pilsner (5.0% ABV) (2 stars on Untappd) I Paddle Around IPA (6.6% ABV) (3.25 stars on Untappd) Say It To Me S.I.M.C.O.E. NE IPA (7.0% ABV) (3 stars on Untappd) Canopy Crusher IPA (6.6% ABV) (2.75 stars on Untappd) The brews I got to taste were rather average - the "I Paddle Around IPA" was my favorite brew of the tasting flight. I noted they have a Randall installed behind the bar on one of the taps. I asked one of the brewers - what was in the Randall chamber. It was being used for their Stout on that night - but I cannot recall what he told me was in the chamber (it was two separate ingredients).
