I have already been here twice now since it has opened. I had to go back to try different things on the menu because everything sounded so delicious. The atmosphere was great. I like the modern feel to the place and everything was very nice and clean cut. As you walk in, you get a friendly greeting and it only gets better from there.
You can tell that the owner Chef Sunny has put a great deal of thought into every little thing he has done to the place. You can tell he put his heart and soul into everything from the homemade furniture/cups, even more so when it comes to the food. One of the times, I sat at the bar and it was great watching the Chef in action.
As for the food, let's start with the appetizers. They have a variety of different appetizers, which kind of has a tapas feel, where its is a bunch of small dishes that everyone can take a few bites and share. The fried chicken is splendid. I like the touch of the almonds and the chicken was very juicy and cooked to perfection. The pork ribs were good with the nice flavored sauce they have. The highlights of the appetizers include the Tuna Carpaccio, the tune was excellent and the artichoke with the quail egg were great touches. The French Kimchi Soup was unreal. It was such a creative dish that incorporates a french onion soup, with a traditional Kimchi jigae in Korean dishes. It came with some garlic bread rolls that were great for dipping. The heat and flavor in this soup was absolutely on point for a unique fusion of korean and french food. With all of the appetizers, you can tell there was a great deal of thought put into each one of the dishes. Each ingredient served its own purpose and thought everything was well done. I have pretty much tried everyone of them and you really can't go wrong with any of them.
I also did try the buns, as the buns were very nicely steamed and very soft, which gave a very comforting feeling. From there, the duck bun was well cooked and had great flavor. The Pork buns were really good as well, kind of reminded me of the al pastor in mexican tacos. The portobello mushroom one had a very good earthy flavor with a great touch from the balsamic vinegar. I usually do not like vegetarian dishes, but this I could see myself ordering again.
Now the main dish, the ramens. The ramens are absolutely wonderful!! When I think of ramen, you think of a cheap 99 cent packet that you ate all through college. Chef's Sunny's ramen showed that there is a whole different level that you can take the ramen. My two favorite were the Oiimen and Musslemen The Oiimen had a great broth with pork belly, I still want some more broth now. The musslemen also had a great flavor with a little more heat, and mussels were cooked very well. You just need to go and try them as they are amazing. Watching Sunny take care of the Ramens was very amusing to watch. With every ramen dish he was very meticulous to make sure the noodles were cooked to perfection. I also read an article online saying how Chef Sunny lets the broths simmer for like 16 hours.
Lastly, I had the Creme Brulee dessert with expresso caviar on it. I can eat that for days, I just want a big bucket of it. The Sangria was delicious as well, it is sweet how they have a big jug in front of the sangria as well. Overall, I am going to become a regular at this place as it is a wonderful Asian fusion restaurant that keeps your tastes buds stimulated from start to end. From what you can tell, Chef Sunny has put his heart and soul into the place and you really can taste it in the food. Highly recommended! read more
