    Soy Caramel Pork Belly Bun

Excellent ramen here. There was plenty of seating on a Sat at 1pm, but it was also snowing a lot. It could've been an anomaly. They had regular tables, high tables, and tables at the counter. I would avoid sitting by the windows on a snowy, cold day. You'll need your ramen to warm you up. I tried the Soy Caramel Pork Belly Bun and Spicy Tonkotsu. The pork belly was very tender and delicious. The caramel gave it a subtle sweet taste. The ramen was delicious. Definitely had a kick to it. I felt like it was spicy enough still to enjoy it. The char siu pork was soft and seasoned (slightly salty). I think this was the first char siu sin ramen that I remember being seasoned. It's a pretty big bowl with lots of noodles. I was stuffed by the end. I would definitely come by and order again.

Saw Rudy's Ramen through a TikTok video so had to come and try it out for myself. I came on a Monday afternoon so there was plenty of street parking and it was relatively empty inside. Restaurant is very cute and seems clean. Service was great and very quick. I got the spicy tonkatsu ramen-- the thin noodles were perfectly cooked and broth was rich. I think it could have been more spicy and the chashu was on the fattier side. I was hungry and the ramen filled me up, but I have a feeling that my boyfriend or someone else would not be leaving completely satisfied given the portion size. My entire meal after tip and fees came out to be ~$25 which I think is pretty standard. Server told me it was Happy Hour and the deals for the appetizers and cocktails seem like a steal if you were to come with friends! Was this the best ramen I've ever had? No. But it was still a delicious dinner and I would give Rudy's a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Whether you're trying to escape the harsh Chicago weather or relinquish the stress of a tough day--Rudy's Ramen will provide you that refuge. The warm, flavorful broth will hug your insides and fill every nook and cranny with comfort. I ordered the seasonal Tsukemen, and it was an interesting interactive experience. The noodles, egg, and seaweed are served separate from the broth and you are free to add the ingredients as you see fit. The noodles were of great quality and the aforementioned broth was fantastic. Our waiter was helpful and suggested a sake flight when we couldn't decide which to choose. While some of the sake were very strong, we appreciated the suggestion. The restaurant has a very welcoming vibe and is a good size, although there is usually a wait. In a city filled with ramen options, Rudy's should be a staple on anyone's list.

Hands down the best ramen we've ever had! Everything from the food to the service was absolutely exceptional. We ordered the Karaage Chicken, Habanero Mayo Chicken Bun, Soy Caramel Pork Belly Bun, Tonkotsu Ramen, and Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen (added Ajitama Egg, Pork Belly, and Spicy Ground Pork) -- and every single dish blew us away. The ramen broth was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, with noodles cooked to perfection. The buns were soft and packed with incredible flavor (the soy caramel pork belly was unreal), and the karaage chicken was crispy, juicy, and addictive. I wish we had a bottle of the house-made yuzu kosho sauce that comes with the karaage chicken, it was that good! Service was top-notch -- friendly, fast, and attentive without ever feeling rushed. You can tell they really care about both their food and their customers. If you're a ramen lover, this place is a must. We'll definitely be back again whenever we're in town.

Craving some ramen on a chilly work night, we dropped in to try some. I got the spicy miso and sadly it was not spicy to me. You have to pay extra I believe for "extra spicy". We also tried the Karaage chicken as an app and it was tasty but expensive for the size. I would perhaps get ramen again to go so I could take it home and add spice for free. The broth was good and the noodles solid. Not my favorite ramen in the area, but certainly quality.

Clean, minimalistic ramen shop a slight trek from downtown Chicago. We came for a late dinner on a weekday with no wait, though patrons were still trickling in throughout our meal. Service was prompt and courteous, no issues. Crispy Brussels sprouts: Pretty crispy, but bordered on being overfried and thus a touch bitter. We requested for light sauce, which allowed for retained crispiness but did allow the bitterness to shine through more. Interestingly, each bite of the sauce tasted slightly different, which was intriguing but jury's still out on whether I liked the overall dish. Tonkotsu ramen (both regular and spicy): Good broth, just not the best I've ever had. The thick chashu was satisfying and fatty. I would have preferred the woodear mushrooms slightly more cooked. The bamboo shoots were good texture. The egg was nicely molten in the center, though I always prefer a whole ajitama to a half. Overall not a bad option for ramen while in the area.

Damm!! I must say, they put their foot in their ramen!!! Excellent, the noodles so silky, the broth out of this world so damn good. We have had a lot of Ramen in our life, Rudy's Ramen is in the top five for me (2). I didn't take a picture, this was the aftermath, there's nothing left in our bowls. Definitely worth going! Also, the staff was great.

Nice ramen shop in wicker park. Went on a Thursday around 6pm and there was still plenty of seating left, although it started to fill up more around 7. Vibe was nice and staff were friendly. I got the tonkotsu ramen with the cucumber margarita. Both were delicious! I would honestly come back for just the marg. Liked this place and definitely will be recommending it.

We really enjoyed Rudy's Ramen! Easy parking, plenty of seating, and perfect for a cold snowy day. Servers were nice and loved the ambiance. The vegetarian mushroom broth ramen (a little spicy) was hot and delicious, and the strawberry mochi ice cream was a great finish :)

Do yourself a favor and stop by when it's freezing cold out. I had a really delicious bowl of ramen, and the owner was really kind

Make sure to get reservations before you go. It was really good. The staff was really nice and the music was really great. Cute and clean. We sat at the bar. The food was great and so were the drinks. Everything we had pictured here!

Rudy's Ramen offers authentic ramen in the wicker park neighborhood of Chicago. A decent sized place with both table and bar seating. The ramen was delicious with plenty of flavor. The service was good but I felt like where we sat at the bar we were forgotten about. Regardless the food was delicious and I would still go back again.

Made the trek out here at the bequest of babe who read reviews and said we needed to try this spot. At first I was a bit skeptical and thought nothing could top my beloved Ramen San. I was proved wrong. I ordered the vegetarian mushroom based ramen (with the extra spice) added a side of the crispy chicken. The chicken was the tenderest I've ever had. The ramen flavor was delicious and the noodles were chunky and ample. This was certainly worth the drive. We also got the Mayo chicken bao to start and man was that just melt in your mouth...ask for extra pickles. The fact that we sat at the bar and were able to see the kitchen staff doing their thing was an experience. The service was ok, friendly but nothing to write home about. The ambiance was open and clean.

The Alaskan cod sandwich was served on a bed of cabbage covered in a sweet teriyaki & brown mustard sauce with maybe a squeeze of kewpie sprinkled in between. The Berkshire pork eggrolls had microgreens & shaved radish on top of a crema type of sauce that balanced the heat of the kimchi nicely!! For the main attraction I ordered the spicy garlic ramen that was such a delightful mouth experience it really hit all the taste buds! The noodles were perfectly bouncy with the right amount of chew. The jellied egg was perfect and rounded the soup very well! The red chili threads enhanced the spicy miso broth just enough to slurp all the delicious goodness down! My husband ordered the Sapporo miso soup which had more of a creamy type of broth vs the spicy garlic. The noodles were also thinner than regular ramen & had a bouncy springy texture that just hit the spot! Since it was kinda chilly outside we also ordered hot green tea to accompany our spectacular ramen dishes. This place also offers delicious seasonal cocktails on the menu or hot sake if that's what you are hankering for. Definitely try this ramen joint if you are in the Logan square area your tummy will be so happy that you did!!

In no way had my body rested. Donned in dawn, my underwear-pajamas slightly slid down revealed a sad vision of man, sloppily tangled in ruffled sheets. Exposed. There is nothing pretty about me, I thought, as I pondered if the sunlight were judging what it saw. Before reaching my current perch on the living room couch, I sat in bed flicking through news in search of something good, but simultaneously only pausing on the bad. Glorifying in the doom, really. It was the pinch I needed to prove I was indeed awake. All day I seek the pinch of pain to prove I am not dreaming. Coffee, cats, clothes, splashof water, and 20 steps later I find myself in the planning pose, here in the living room. The planning pose is very much like the wake-startle, sans the sheets and exposed crack. It involves me laying here on the couch actually reading the articles I perused earlier. I like to rationalize that the information gleaned is to set me up for a day of human interaction. Perhaps it is a study session to get up to human-social-speed. Right now it is dawning on me -- my second uninvited dawn of the day -- that perhaps behavior isn't responsible humanity, it is prolonged self torment. The tighter pinch. The proverbial purple nurple of challenging my awakened state. Cats gather around me. One at my feet and the other curled beside my thigh. Am I king to them? They are fed. Surely they are not here in need of something. Have I done something to warrant this attention? My affection toward them is inconsistent. It ebbs in startling fits of overly attentive playing or petting followed by long droughts of disregard. My ambivalence as their king gives me this luxury, and supports my theory that they may think I am indeed king. This is the type of cyclical example loop I am using as evidence to propel me from the underwear'ed fat man the sun observed moments ago. Evidence that says: "See, Sun, I am more than the larva you spotlighted. I am a god! The cats are evidence! And they sleep in your sun-puddles in undisputed, recognizable perfection, not the ugly crack-exposed heap you found me in. You love them. They love me. So, pinch yourself, and stop judging me!" Obviously the coffee is working, or maybe the cats are doing their trick: making me feel accepted in the universe. Whatever the case may be, I pet my cat. Dander floats into the sun's beams and crystallizes in the air. If you've ever seen dust in a thinly sliced light beam at dawn you know: Hope is the accidental luck of shadows bouncing off of the chaos but always cutting through. Always meeting a surface. Penetrating the thickest of atmospheres and colliding on flowers and alleys, on well planned solar panels, on potholes, through any crack, on my crack, projecting obtuse triangles, acute bi-angles, and isosceles quad-tangles, even while penetrating deep into the sea, revealing all the magnificent details of art, and occasionally falling on me. Trees bend to it. I give the cat closest a good scratch behind the ear and look out the window at the trees greening in spring. A dog walker pauses to pick up excrement. A squirrel cowers behind a branch. The ramen restaurant on the corner is cut through by light warming empty tables; tables preparing to slurp up hungry, hopeful lunchers into the belly of contentment. Dark, seemingly an antagonist to light's hero demeanor, sheepishly slinks away, humbly realizing it is not the opposite of light, but the absence. "Beautiful," I think as I see the spicy broth of life warming in the sun glow beyond the glass. Yes. It is beautiful. It really is. I couldn't see how much in the dark but the rhythm out the window is now clear. I turn to my cat, who is winding down a purr. We share a slow-blink gaze at one another as the last sliver of dawn is replaced with shadow in my house. He moves to the window sill to soak in every second as it departs. "Welp, buddy. Nothing left now. Time to bend to the light"
