How noisy is it?

It is a big space. When I walked through the dining room, to get to the patio, it was noisy both inside and outside. If you're looking for a quiet ambiance, this isn't the place:)

Do they serve bottomless Mimosas for Sunday brunch?

Unless something has changed in the last few months, no. Instead, they have brunch specials that include either a beer or mimosa (you choose). Fantastic brunch, especially the chicken and waffles!

Are the ping pong tables outside exposed to the sun or are they on a covered patio?

They are not covered, looking in pretty bad shape and usually the off duty staff are hanging out in that area.

Are they going to get some of the same beers they have at their nano brewery in Phoenix?

Mostly. They have some just for here

This place was surprisingly bad about accommodating my soy intolerance. I called in advance and was…read moretold they cook most things in a canola/olive oil blend, which is good for me. When I got there and ordered, I told the waitress about my intolerance and ordered a salad with chicken. When my food came out, I was told my salad didn't have chicken because I couldn't eat the chicken, or any other meat in the restaurant, because they coat it in Pam spray (soybean oil). For a place that prides itself on making their own dressings, etc., you'd think they could've figured out how to cook chicken in an oil that they use for everything else. Perhaps if they'd communicated better about my intolerance instead of not thinking about it until immediately when my food was ready (which was quite a while after we ordered), they could've found someone in the restaurant who was capable of making non-vegetarian food with something other than soy spray, but I may be giving them too much credit. They also didn't offer us a high chair for our toddler, which was strange. He wound up doing fine in the booth, which was for the best because a high chair probably wouldn't have fit well where we were sitting anyway. The waitress was apologetic and nice about my food screw up and offered to make me something else, but there wasn't much that could be done given that apparently no one in the restaurant knows how to cook meat without soy spray, plus we'd already waited quite a while for our food. The beet salad was tasty, as was the bread with honey butter and the Chai latte, but I would've left feeling more full if I could've added meat to my salad.

My son had ordered food from here as takeout last year. The food taste was interesting, though, I really like the cheese dip for the pretzel bites. The bites were pretty big. Lots of tables at this location, a bit warm. But our party of 14 was easily accommodated. Our daughter chose this place and it was quite loud. My husband and I are quiet people, so if we were to choose again, probably not here because of the loudness and all the TVs all over the place. But for those who like it loud, TVs and do not mind the prices on the menu, have at it. I don't remember our server's name. If she told us, I couldn't hear what she said. She was alright. Honestly, I had a hard time hearing even my son who sat next to me, and hearing my sister who sat one seat over in front of me, I couldn't hear what she was saying. Loudness is an issue for me and I do not have hearing issues. Our bill with tip came to over $700+. That was the most expensive lunch we've ever spent for our party of 14. Typically we're in the $400-500 range. But it was a special occasion. My husband and son got the 36 hr ribs. My husband really loved them. My son said it was okay. I didn't ask my brother and BIL who also got the same dish. I know my BIL was unhappy that he didn't get the side he requested and when they gave it to him (asparagus, I think), it was cold and he wasn't pleased about this. I got the hub burger and it was okay. There was a lot on the burger, but the patty itself, didn't have that much flavor. Some of the "Starters" or appetizers things were salted too much, but the burger did not taste like it had any salt. I had eaten too many starters so when my food came, I wasn't very hungry and took most of it home and ate for dinner another night. My husband and son do not like coleslaw and I ate theirs. THIS I really liked and tasted much better than KFC. I loved the sweetness and that the cabbage was shredded bigger than KFC. The pretzel bites were good. We got wings, and they were so-so. The roasted brussel sprouts were too salty. The deviled eggs were okay, but pricey for 2.5 eggs, which I do pay at Trader Joe's for organic free range pasturized eggs I could've gotten over 2 dozens. But, yes, I pay for the service and ambiance. I really thought there would be more than 5 halves for the deviled eggs. We got the nachos and they were okay. The melted cheese sauce was the best part. My mom got the fish and chips and she seemed to pick at it. She didn't want to take home, so it must not have been that good because she almost always takes a doggy bag home. My sister had the salmon and it was in a huge bowl and didn't look to be that much food. It was pricey. One of my SILs got something I didn't recognize and she said it was okay. No one I could tell was over the moon with the taste of the food and I heard the word "interesting" quite a bit. It's not that it tasted bad, but it didn't really taste good good. You know what I mean? I did bring a special order cake I got at Nothing Bundt Cakes in Gilbert. I asked Culinary Dropout if we could borrow a cake cutter. They didn't have one. Weird. This was a Red Velvet cake and this was absolutely divine. It was moist. The frosting was some sort of yummy cream cheese frosting. The cake was perfectly sized for our party of 14. The cake was the best part of our meal and it didn't come from Culinary Dropout. I would pay this much for a meal at Roy's for lunch for this sized party, but alas, all the Roy's in the valley are closed down. So sad. I'm not saying this place is bad or the food tastes bad. It's okay and pricey. If the food was great or amazing, we don't mind pricey. We have paid over $1K for meals for our big party, and happily do so when the food is equivalent to the price.

Ok... So I don't really know how to start this because I literally HAD to create a yelp account for this restaurant. Devon (gosh I hope I spelled that right) was our party's server and he kicked ass. TL;DR: We went as a big (called ahead) group, I'm gluten free, had some issues with things that were brought out to me, Devon worked his ass off to make sure issues were corrected all while serving the whole party and other tables, even took stuff off of my check even though I asked him not to. So we (a called ahead, reserved party of 17 for a birthday on a Monday evening) showed up and I immediately said to my wife how I loved the atmosphere there... It's got an inside/outside sorta feel that is VERY dog friendly (bonus!) With accommodations to make anyone feel comfortable in this Arizona heat. We were shown to our table and Devon instantly came introduced himself and started helping everyone with questions. My little part of the group came as a family with 2 kids (4 & 1). After we sorta settled in, it was my turn to watch the kids, so I took them to walk around and check out the dogs/dog area and play with the cornhole bags. But here's the thing, while I was up my wife told Devon that I was gluten free (I've had celiac's for about 2 years) and he made it a point to come up to me while I was away from the table with the kids to talk to me about options that the restaurant had. First order: drinks. I asked about gluten free options for draft drinks. He informed of several, I ended up picking the Desert Dragon Hard Cider. What ended up coming was a Dragoon IPA. I noticed and asked Devon about it with: "hey, I've never had this cider before but it really tastes like a non-gluten free beer". He tasted it and agreed that it wasn't, apologised (I hate sending stuff back but he helped anyways) and replaced it with the cider I needed. For my order... There wasn't a *huge* amount of selection for gluten free options, but there were enough for me, and I'm a pretty picky eater. I ended up ordering the AZ Burger... Regular burger, jalapeno cream cheese, poblano aioli, lettuce, and a gluten free bun, medium rare. My burger came out and I cut into it with the provided knife... I noticed it had fried onions on it. I brought this up to Devon saying "I'm sorry if I'm being 'that person' but are these onions gluten free?" He said no, apologised (unnecessarily) and immediately worked on replacing the burger. I got the replacement burger within a couple minutes and let me tell you... This easily in the top 3 best burgers I've had in my whole life. I've only been gluten free for about 2 years (I'm 30), but this includes anything I've hadbefore I was diagnosed. I haven't had anything this good since I've been gluten free. The jalapeno cream cheese and poblano aioli were a superb combination, the gluten free bun tasted/felt like a regular bun (which is the best I could hope for when gluten free) and a perfect medium rare patty. I like to try and tell employees when I had a good meal, but I made it a point to reach out to Devon to thank him for his hard work, to the chef(s) to say thank you for such a good burger and for working with my allergy, and overall that I had an awesome experience with him. Then in one of our last discussions he was apologetic and said he would see what her could do, I didn't want him to change anything about the bill, but when it came, he had taken several items off because of the errors. I was truly humbled. I would really like to thank Devon and the staff at Ohso this Monday evening (6/17/2019) for their hard work and dedication to ensuring my order was exactly how I needed it and helping out when there were small issues with my order. It was a very busy time with the large group, kids, and other tables, but Devon made sure that I felt like he was there for ME. I don't know what he's being paid, but Damn! GIVE THIS DUDE A RAISE! Thank you again to Devon and the Ohso crew... I would gladly recommend this place to anyone... ESPECIALLY celiac/gluten free people! EDIT: I wanted to add, that as I was writing this review at home, my wife kept rolling her eyes asking "are you really writing a review?" To which I said "Hell yeah! That's how happy I was!" read more

This place is fun and family friendly, surprisingly! Free games in the arcade, photo opps and the space is large with a lot of seating. Those were the positives, but I spent $30+ on two inedible appetizers, chips and guacamole and the hummus board. I ordered them through the QR code on the tables. About 30 minutes later my food arrives. My food was not only thrown together poorly, it tasted terrible. The carrots weren't in slices, they were halved and they were big carrots, so I and especially my toddlers couldn't even eat them. The cucumber was the same but easier to eat. But the hummus was off, it tasted terrible, like there was baking soda or something in it. I was truly disappointed because I love all hummus! The guacamole tasted bland and old, but the chips were good. I wanted to say something but didn't know who to go to, as I ordered outside on my phone. I went to the bar and waited for help but the bartender was not very helpful. I wish I would have asked for a manager or even someone else, but it started raining, so I left. I felt ripped off with the presentation of my food, but how it tasted was the real letdown, next to the non-existent service. Also, we got food poisoning. I did not go out go eat days after coming here but my children and I got violent food poisoning, thankfully my elderly mother did not- as she did not eat the hummus plate that my sons and I did. I really wish I pushed for a manager or refund when I was there, won't be back as I was visiting. read more

It was a very busy Monday night with NCAA March Madness happening. We were heading to a show at the Hale Theatre and wanted to have supper before the show. Stood in line to put our names on a list. Bought a beer and waited in the dog park. We were seated much sooner than we were told. Ordered a second beer from one server and our meal from someone else. We both enjoyed the IPA on tap. Loved the energy. After finishing our second beer we stopped to ask when our meals were coming. There was a panicked look and the manager was called by the server. We asked for our meals to go because we were going to be late. We didn't expect that our meal was going to be compted. Thanks OHSO! Got to the theatre just in time to settle in our seats. We reheated and ate our meal the next evening and it was still very tasty. What I would really appreciate would be accepting reservations for smaller groups, like a couple so that we don't have to go extra early and stand in line for a reservation. This may be an opportunity for OHSO Brewery and Hale Theatre to collaborate with a dinner and a show package. We will return to OHSO but we will do it when we don't have plans afterwards. The staff were over the top great, I just don't know what happened. read more

The owner of OHSO is extremely arrogant, rude, and condescending. He does not know how to treat loyal, paying customers, especially at a restaurant with a reputation of being upscale but friendly and neighborly. Mr. Lane did not uphold that reputation with me. He acted completely in the opposite, which was shocking, unkind, and offensive. If you dare to bring a concern or a complaint to his attention, he will not try to listen to and understand your side of the story. He will not try to make things right so that you will feel acknowledged and welcomed back. Instead, he will treat you like an enemy, deny any mistakes or negative feedback, and tell you never to return. I've never been treated this way by anyone in the restaurant or hospitality business. I am not a habitual complainer, and I'm not "difficult." I only notify a manager if I have genuine, legitimate concern of which they need to be aware. Mr. Lane did not treat me with any respect or kindness. He was completely unfair and downright mean. It's a shame because I really like the food and the atmosphere at OHSO, but now I can never go back because he was so rude to me. read more

Culinary Dropout is a solid choice for a laid-back, family-friendly dining experience with a touch of modern flair. The burgers are definitely a highlight, flavorful, and cooked just right. Whether you're a classic cheeseburger fan or into more creative toppings, there's something to satisfy everyone. The bar selection is another standout. It's extensive and well-curated, with a variety of beers on tap, craft cocktails, and wine options to suit all tastes. It's a great spot to unwind with a drink, whether you're out with friends or enjoying a casual family dinner. Despite being popular and often bustling, especially on weekends, the service remains impressively quick and attentive. Staff are friendly and efficient, and they keep things moving without making you feel rushed. The atmosphere is welcoming for all ages, with plenty of space and a casual vibe that makes it easy to bring the kids along. Prices are reasonable for the quality, making it an affordable option without sacrificing flavor or service. Literally, $900 for 24 people, got a salad with frisée greens served in a chafing dish with some lemon vinaigrette on the side, then some mashed potatoes and dry ass chicken. Literally, they FORGOT the au jus. Think about that for a moment, 3 components (mashed potatoes, chicken, jus) they forgot to MAKE 33% of the dish!! Haha. By the time they got us the jus everyone had already finished the dry chicken. The dessert platter was ok. They didn't tell anyone they got a drink with it and many of our guest paid for all of their drinks. Lol. This place is a joke. We could have ordered off the regular menu and got better items. I'm so disappointed. I would not recommend an event here. Just get a table and order off the regular menu. Hopefully, you'll have better luck with service than we did. read more

Recently tried OHSO in downtown Gilbert, AZ. and kept it simple by ordering just a regular cheeseburger, but wow, it was so delicious. Sometimes the basics really do say everything about a place, and they definitely nailed it. I also asked for blue cheese dressing on the side for my fries, and I'm so glad I did. The blue cheese was really good, creamy, flavorful, and it paired perfectly with the fries. Highly recommend doing that! The iced tea was also super refreshing and tasted great. My only small downside was that our waiter didn't come by to offer a refill, which would've made the experience even better. We sat in the main area right when you walk in, and it had a really nice view of downtown Gilbert, which added to the overall vibe. The only thing I'd note is that the music was a little loud, but not a dealbreaker. Overall, the food was excellent, and I'd definitely come back again! read more

Went to OHSO, and it was pretty good overall, just a little blip. The place has this cool mix of industrial vibes and a lively atmosphere. The star of the show was the Brewer's Grilled Cheese - loaded with tasty roasted pork, crispy bacon, juicy tomatoes, and a mix of Monterrey Jack and cheddar cheeses. Held together with honey mustard, it was heavy, but delicious. The fries on the side were hot and crispy, giving a good crunch with every bite. Now, the jalapeno mule from the drink menu was a letdown. Too sour, didn't hit the spot. But props to the OHSO crew - they fixed it up quick, comped the drink, and replaced it. They're on top of things. The small pitcher of beer I got during happy hour for 8 bucks was a solid save and added some bang for the buck. Despite the drink blip, the awesome sandwich, tasty fries, and the friendly service make OHSO a solid spot for a satisfying meal. read more

If sunshine had a name, it would be Hannah--OHSO Brewery's resident beer whisperer and mood-lifter extraordinaire. She's the kind of bartender who remembers your name, your favorite drink, and somehow makes you feel like you've walked into your bar, not just a bar. Hannah serves up craft beer and cocktails with a side of wit, a sprinkle of sass, and just the right amount of "how was your day y'all?" to make you feel genuinely seen. She's got the energy of a playlist that never misses, the efficiency of a caffeine-fueled squirrel, and the warmth of your favorite hoodie. 10/10 would recommend pulling up a stool and letting Hannah work her magic--you'll leave a little happier (and probably with a new favorite drink you didn't know you needed). read more

Andreas was our server and he was amazing! Right when we sat down, he warned us that the kitchen was backed up so he recommended a great appetizer (the giant pretzel - delicious). He kept checking on us and apologizing for the wait for food. He was funny and kind and just awesome! He was not exaggerating, the wait for food was a long time but we were warned and we were with great company on a lovely night so it was not a bother to wait. Once the food came it was delicious, I asked Andreas for his recommendation and it turned into my new favorite meal - the Angry Bird but in a wrap! Hands down, best Ohso experience - Andreas was mostly to blame, we'll definitely be asking for him to be our server next time! read more

Overall nice restaurant with cool stylings and friendly and competent staff. Leans pretty heavily into being a dog friendly patio and does that quite well with a large portion of the seating being outdoors. The beer and food selections are varied, but unfortunately the food I chose was quite poorly executed. Got the chicken and waffles and it was exceedingly bland and without flavor. Also, the chicken was dry and chewy to the extent that syrup and buttermilk was needed in excess to make it palatable. It was bad enough to knock would would have been a 4/5 star experience down to three, especially for the price that was being charged for it. The people I was with had much better choices apparently. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Hannah! From the moment we sat down, she was warm, welcoming, and attentive without ever being overbearing. She has that rare ability to anticipate what you need before you even ask, and she does it all with a genuine smile that makes you feel like you're her top priority. Hannah is knowledgeable about the menu and drinks, and her recommendations were spot on. She checked in just the right amount, kept everything running smoothly, and made the whole experience so enjoyable. You can tell she truly cares about her guests and takes pride in her work. read more

We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Hannah during our visit to O.H.S.O., and she was amazing! From the moment we arrived, she was incredibly friendly, kind, and welcoming--not just to me but to my entire family. Her warm personality and attentive service made us feel right at home. On top of that, she's a fantastic bartender--knowledgeable, quick, and made some of the best drinks we've had in a while. Hannah truly elevated our experience, and we'll definitely be back thanks to her. Highly recommend asking for her if you stop by! read more

We had another fantastic time at OHSO. Whenever we are in town to visit friends, we never pass up a chance to visit OHSO. It's a great place for families with plenty of space for kids to run around and play. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, making sure everyone feels welcome. The variety of beers is impressive, and the food is delicious too. We especially loved the outdoor seating area where we could enjoy the nice weather. Highly recommend this brewery for a fun and family-friendly outing! read more

4 stars because of the food!! I love the pretzel board with the add on sausage, and the smothered steak fries are incredible. My partner and I love going for the long happy hour hours, but we've noticed that the need to promptly address customers isn't a priority here. That is the reason I can't give OHSO 5 stars. We've left a few times just because we had waited 10 minutes without having ordered anything! Again, food is incredible but you may need to wait for it. read more

Beer is great but boy is the service lacking. Ordered 2 pitchers with a group of friends and Katie Rose couldn't have been any more rude. Not my fault your kegs ran out and I didn't mind waiting. But coming back with an attitude wasn't necessary. I'll go elsewhere next time. Update -- Eddie the bar manager addressed the issue within 5 mins of my review. All good and in the spirit of helping out a local business. read more
