Our friends said they've tried Ono Tacos before in Lahaina. They said that the tacos they had were good! So it was again the meal right before going to the airport to go home and the gate was closed, but I saw people eating inside so I did what I would not do In DC, which is get out of the car and just ask if it was open. I wouldn't do that In DC because it's just a little scary here. And a nice people called out to Ola the chef and he opened the gate for us!! This time it felt extra special. It was like eating with a dear old friend and come to find out Ola was living in Columbia Heights just before the pandemic. (We are frequenters of Columbia heights!) We really felt spoiled and cared for here. He whipped up an amazing bed of salad for both of us. The greens here in Maui are just so fresh and the flavors are so good and of course we topped it with mahi mahi either grilled or taco style. He also gave us coconut water and a smoothie and fresh papaya which I told him I only eat on the island, which is true because it doesn't taste as good anywhere else that I know. What a way to end a trip with a flood and power outage in the middle of it. When troubles come later at home, which they will, I will think back fondly and give things for the experience we had here. And there was so much food that I was blessed to take the food on the airplane which served as my main meal (bc I can't eat any of the things that is on the plane sadly with my limitations. Delta loves to serve things with lots of cheese or dairy.) When it's not too windy, sitting outside under the tent is a lovely way to enjoy. I've been traveling a lot to help with family, and being that I have had great service and help from the crew at Hawaiian Airlines, I chose to take Jollibee sandwiches for those at the airport and the flight crew as a small "thank you" for their help. It's become a little bit of a routine, that the Jollibee crew has come to know me over time as the "big order" of around 3 dozen sandwiches every time I stop by. They have never missed or made an order wrong, and every single person who has received a sandwich has always enjoyed it, and for many of them, it was the first time they ate a Jollibee deluxe chicken sandwich. I have no doubt most will be back for more if there's a Jollibee in reasonable range of where they are. The location has the typical noise level of any fast food location. There is a good amount of seating for parties up to about 10 people, with tables and chairs inside and outside of the restaurant. The restrooms are clean and well kept - always a good sign for any fast food location. I'd like to thank the entire crew for being so accommodating to me every single visit, but especially to thank the RGM - Cherry Leano, the RM - Lanz Valdez, Supervisors - Izy C., Aiza A., Leslee P., and Jesther T. for always doing all they can to make my orders in a very reasonable time, and for always keeping up with anything I need.
