Aloha oi , we are in Hawaii! Maui to be exact. Were here at the OGG airport killing time until our transfer flight to HNL. So 2+ hours to kill and we're looking for some food. On average , in Hawaii you'll spend 14-16$ a plate / entree for things like a burger meal at a restaurant ball park. We found this little hot dog stand , located on the way to Gates 17-39 area on the right hand side. Looks like a food truck. Their hot dogs range about $6-8 bucks per dog. I ordered the saimin soup for $9 something. Total was about $18~ something. Food was okay, blah airport food. Over priced and basic. But generally it's pretty affordable compared to the other restaurants in this place . The Kula dog , just tasted like a regular hot dog. It had onions, pickles, mustard, and pineapple in it for that Hawaiian flair. The toppings for my saimin were pretty scant. Some tiny bits of floating ham , like the kind you put in your sandwich, the deli meat kind. A half a hard boiled egg, and maybe 2 slices of that pink and red imitation fish cake. They did run out of the musubi for the day. $4.99 per pop. The food was okay. read more

Frankly this hot dog stand is a good spot to get a good dog. 3 1/2 Stars because You'll get Great Service with an average but good tasting hot dog. Bonus is that if you like onions, you're in MAUI! Home of da BEST ONIONS in da Pacific and as far as my tastes, da BEST in da USA! Would love give another star but the bun and the condiments need to be elevated CHICAGO STYLE to reach that coveted four-five Star level. All in all better than Burger King option at the Airport. Looks like a Food Truck in the middle of the airport! This little snack bar is located inside of the Maui Airport. It's actually in the open air section between Gates - not at a Gate - so there's no air conditioning. Just walk up to the window, place your order, and go around to the front of the truck for condiments. Instead of a plain hot dog, I got the Maui Dog (beef hotdog). For 10 cents more, the Maui Dog has a fresh, sweet Maui Onion topping - yum! The slight crisp gives a plain hot dog some character without a bite! The bun was nice and soft as if it had been steamed a bit. (The other hot dog choices were beef, Polish, or Portuguese sausage.) If you have time and need a quick snack, you may want a hot dog. A hot dog is one of life's simplest pleasures. Frankly gourmet meets the overwhelming demand for a quick bite on the go. Now this is in the airport, so expect airport pricing. But you're also in an airport, if you've flown on a plane EVER you should be aware of this. Come on, you're an adult. But when I'm jetting off to somewhere and as a busy man I don't have time to pay $45 for a whopper combo at Burger King. Two of these bad boys are a relative bargain and way better than anyone asked them to be. I mean we're talking about a broom closet converted to serve food essentially. They also supply all your other last minute culinary needs in the ways of beverages and to go items. 10/10 will return. read more

This place is after TSA--so if you have a layover at OGG, you don't have to exit security to go here. It's near Gate 18. This place is definitely on the fast food side, but it's fun to have saimin ($7) at the airport instead of Burger King. read more

The kids and I needed some lunch before our flight back to the Bay Area. I wanted something easy and quick. Here comes some hot dogs to save the day. We got a round of regular hot dogs for us and a few bags of chips. We also got some beverages to wash it down. The hot dogs were good. Very expensive, but good. Service was a little like getting served by a gold fish. What I mean is I went back to the window at least 3 different times in about a 10 minute span and the woman never remembered me. Every time was like she saw me for the first time. Not to mention we were eating at one of their tables a few feet away. Weird, but at least she was pleasant every time. read more

In the airport past security, all I wanted one last taste of the island, but all that surrounded me was fro-yo and Burger King. Because of Sarah Vowell's book on Hawaii, I'd been wanting sentimentally to get me some plate lunch, but mostly we snacked and ate in, or didn't get out and about until after lunch. Thanks to Frankly Gourmet I finally got the plate lunch I'd been wanting all my trip long. Tucked awkwardly around the corner there it lies, a weird food cart inside the terminal. Plate lunch special was breaded chicken with gravy, plus a scoop of macaroni salad and a scoop of sticky white rice. It stuck to my ribs through a 12-hour commute, and it was just what I needed. Frankly Gourmet (which, let's be completely honest, is more Vaguely Gourmet, but no bother) was the only place in the airport that made me feel like I was still in Hawaii, when I really wasn't ready to leave. This place is pretty standard for an airport. High prices, ok quality. We got 2 hotdogs, one Maui union and one Hana hula dog. The onion one has tons of onion and the pineapple one had a good amount of pineapple. Overall I would give this place 3.5 stars. This take-out food establishment is located next to Gates 17+ You cannot miss it--its a big blue food truck, smack dab flushed to the side of the entrance of the inter-island terminal. I've eaten here a few times...I don't know why, since its ridiculously expensive (i.e. basic standard-sized hotdog with basic garnishes) is upwards of $4.xx. They do have a variety of hot dogs though that offer island fruit relishes and the like, which is more expensive (I think the most expensive dog I saw on the menu was $7-9) They do have plate lunch specials @ $9.99, which is probably the best bang for your buck. Some other local favorites they have are saimin bowls (ramen) and nachos. Some pre-made sandwiches, salads, yogurt and fruits fill a cold case to the left, and to the right holds drinks (i.e. Honest tea is $5.xx! You have been warned!) Atop the counter they also have small snacks, such as cookies, peanuts and chips. I'm not sure if they take plastic, but cash is always good. The workers are pretty friendly and there are some tables/stools for seating. read more

Just ate here. Cheap compared to other places at the airport, but still expensive. Dogs range from $6-$10. Nothing special. Hubby had that and I had the saimen, which was basically glorified watered-down cup o' noodle for $10. Disappointing. Stick with the dogs. Worst part was the young blonde behind the counter. Absolutely worst customer service. I asked about the daily special and she said they don't offer that anymore. Hubby pointed out that it's still on their menu, to which she stared at us blankly as if we had said absolutely nothing at all. I've never seen anyone who looked like they hated their job and life more than this girl. She continued to look like she hated her life/self the entire time we sat there and ate. Plus she had no idea what was on the menu and dogs (either gave my hubby the wrong dog or left something off). Either way, if ever in the area again, I would go to CPK or Burger King just so I wouldn't have to deal with her, or the okay to subpar food. read more

Yummy! As other yelpers have mentioned it is expensive. However, there is a limited selection of places to eat at the airport. In my opinion, it was the best choice at the time. There was a long line because there was only one girl working behind the counter. Although there was a long line, the girl moved quickly between taking the order, preparing the order, and taking the money. The best part of this place is the young lady, put on a glove when she handled the food! In addition, she didn't keep the glove on when she collected money. Hallelujah! It is rare these days to find employees that put on glove to handle food BEFORE touching food. Let alone taking them off before handling money! Although I almost spent $40 for four hot dogs, two bags of chips, and two drinks.....IT WAS WELL WORTH IT! THANK YOU FOR PROPERLY HANDLING FOOD AND MONEY! I APPRECIATE IT! So it's better than 7-11 hotdogs which isn't saying much. The dogs have been rolling on the heaters for God knows how long. Some look gross. I chose this over Burger King. Not sure I chose accurately, it's a toss up. I got the poi dog- the "pineapple relish" doesn't actually taste like pineapple and the mustard isn't special either. I guess it could be worse, however, one hotdog for $7 that's mediocre at best is what you are getting. It's edible so I'll give it more than 1 star. read more

I stopped in to get a bottle of water and a gatorade (hungover flying is never fun), and I'm really sad that I didn't get to try the food.
