One of our good friends is Hawaiian and therefore quite opinionated on the subject. Finding authentic and delicious Hawaiian food is a legit challenge. We walked up to the truck and were immediately greeted by the cashier. He was friendly and helpful. The first thing I noticed was his accent. He sounded exactly like the Hawaiian friend I mentioned earlier. So I thought this was a good sign. Both him and the other employee who gave us our food were super friendly and kind. That vibe and energy always makes me smile. My husband ordered the garlic chicken and I ordered teriyaki beef. They only had three options on the menu, and the third being pulled pork. Both plates came with rice and macaroni salad. Everything was delicious. Portions seemed a tad small for the price, but I really didn't care. I was full, and it was delicious. I text our friend about this business, and he said it is hands down THE best Hawaiian food in town. Which I definitely agree with. It is a small family run business, and I love it. Our friend said they've scaled back to only doing events like the spring game where we found them and catering, which makes me super sad. Because I would totally go out of my way to visit them and eat there again. I'd become a regular real quick. The Katsu crust was super crunchy and held up well to the deliciously spicy katsu sauce and the juice from the slaw without ever getting soggy. The fish was nice and juicy and cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough katsu sauce and I had to request more. My wife tried the Pork Bulgogi plate. It was very flavorful and tasty but the meat was so full of fat and gristle it was hard to eat. She tossed half the meat, that's why I took off the 5th star from this review.
