It is a nice store plenty of walking room. However there was a low selection of supplies and shelves were bare. I would like to see more options and inventory. The customer service rep in the copy service area was very patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. But the next day, no one was around to help, 1 of the 2 available copy machines were broken. Can't dislike a business any more than Office Max! What a waste of space. I've attempted to shop here over the years and found the staff typically unfriendly or unhelpful but it was nearby so I had reluctantly purchased some school supplies here when needed. Always regretted giving them my money! Today was the last time I set foot in this store. I wanted to recycle an old printer, I asked a clerk if they recycle, "yeah sure,we recycle". So I go get my printer, come back in to drop it off at the counter and he then says, "that'll be $20"! What!?! Call me stupid but no thanks. I just turned around and headed over to Best Buy and dropped it off for free because that's what they do for their customers! Seriously, this was the last time. I only come here for work stuff but today was it. I'm buying $120 worth of items. The guy is ringing me up. A lady walks in and asks "do you do personal shredding?" Instead of asking her to wait 20 seconds while he finishes my order, he just stops in the middle of what he's doing and helps her. You do realize you're ringing me up, a paying customer right? And you're not done. He's talking to her and calling someone on the phone and just forgets I'm standing there. He reaches of the receipt and hands it to me, and isn't even looking at me. My stuff is sitting there on the counter, it's too much stuff to pick up. I interrupt this rude guy and ask "can you give me a bag? I'm still standing here and you're supposed to be helping me" He's still on the phone and fumbling for a bag, puts it on the counter and still isn't looking at what he's doing. I realize I'm going to have to put the stuff in the bag and go to pick it up myself, he sees what I'm doing and quickly scoops up all my stuff and does it himself. You could not have worst customer service. This is not how you treat customers, especially ones who literally just handed you $120 bucks - compared to someone who wants free shredding who came in after and is getting all the guy's attetion. Now I realize they don't care here. The manager is reading this and shaking his head "so what?" Please, if I can stop even just one person from using this place than that would be okay. The employees at this store on Sunday afternoon were the worst! I needed to make a copy of a photo and then shrink the size. They offered no guidance until I asked and then couldn't care less about helping me with copier, no enthusiasm, zero customer service. They mumbled when they spoke, so unfriendly. Edward proactively asked if I needed help, answered all my questions and was not pushy. Posting because one OfficeMax employee legit lied and told me FedEx already came to pick up mail when I asked to overnight a letter... but the fedex person arrived 2 minutes later. And while the fedex employee was there, the OfficeMax employee left for whatever reasons, so I couldn't finish paying for shipping. The fedex employee actually waited for a few minutes because he saw me trying to send something out, but ended up leaving because the OfficeMax employee never returned. I really wanted to support OfficeMax because it seems like they're dying out - last time I visited, the store was pretty sad. Picture a building built in the 80s...scuffed and worn out tile...1 or 2 customers milling around...dusty products sitting on the shelves. Reminiscent vibes of Bed Bath and Beyond right before they went under. I needed a printer for school earlier this year, which I purchased at this location. It was a surprisingly pleasant experience and the gentleman who helped me get everything I needed (paper, ink) was super nice and added a ton of coupons to my purchase. I ended up spending the bare minimum for a printer, two giant reams of paper, and a combo pack of ink. I walked out feeling really happy. Fast forward to now, I'm out of ink. I called Officemax to ensure they had the type of ink I need. Guy on the phone said the wrong printer type, I corrected him, and then he checked the stock. He said the ink was in stock and a combo pack was $70. Whoa! I know ink can get pricey, but I sure as heck did NOT spend that much when I initially bought the printer. I politely asked if they have any coupons since I got so many last time. The guy very curtly says "We don't do discounts on ink." Well, I know that is a flat-out lie, because your coworker discounted it on my last visit. I let him know that I purchased my printer there and I didn't recall spending that much on ink. Silence on the other end, and just when he started to say something like "Ok, have a good night," I promptly hung up. I found the ink for $35 at Walmart. I know they're a larger company than Officemax, but half the price? Really? Something is up with Officemax, and I'm not into the cost or the attitudes. Also, even though I corrected the dude about my printer type, I discovered he still checked stock on the wrong printer/ink code. This review is not for the store but for the quality of service I received today from Christina and Antonio. I've been using OfficeMax/Depot for printing important documents for a while now since I don't have a printer. I came in to use the self service printer and both printers were having some technical problems printing. After alerting an associate for assistance, Antonio came over after waiting for about 5 minutes (they were pretty busy in there so I get it). Antonio assisted me in trouble shooting but Christina quickly came over and assisted me on the other side of the counter where the print shop was. She was able to successfully receive my PDF docs via their email and print them for me despite the fact that the print shop technician that is normally suppose to be behind the counter was not present today. Both Christina and Antonio were patient with me and fulfilled my needs. I appreciate you too! Quality customer service! read more

This location has an awkward parking lot. I prefer parking closer to the entrance compare to walking from the garage. The inside of Officemax is nice. It is quiet inside but there are times it can be crowded. I don't remember buying anything from this location. I gone inside just to walk around but I don't remember what I bought. If I don't find what I needed at Staples in Pleasant Hill I go to Officemax as an alternative. Luckily Officemax isn't a far distance from Staples in Pleasant Hill...exact same street. read more

Huge store but overpriced on EVERYTHING: pens, pencils, paper, notebooks, office supplies & furniture; you name it. It's always empty and I can see why. It carries the strangest non-office items, all so dusty, at inflated prices. We walked to the back of the store to use the women's restroom, opened the door to a disgusting, filthy space. I looked in, grabbed everyone and walked right back out. No way. How do employees use these dirty toilets & sinks with over-flowing waste cans, trash all over the floor, broken dispensers, and greasy gross marks everywhere. Someone should call the health dept. I came here to print some flyers for work as I do annually, I was told I have to do everything online before coming now, which has never been the case. I've always been helped at the counter, now I'm stuck trying to navigate an online system I've never used before that is not easy to use. The online system doesn't explain the options Available and the differences, I think any printshop should be able to help you over the counter, and at least be able to print you an example of what you will be paying for before you order 50-100. Your telling me I have to order one, check it out, come back when it's done. Make sure it's fine and then proceed to order more and come back again, and pick those up, Office Depot has been around a long time so I'm surprised they are not aware that people do not come to a printshop to do all the work themselves. I already spent the time making the flyer, and now I have to learn the Office Depot online system to get them printed and it won't even tell me the thickness options for my flyers, Recommend going elsewhere for printing needs, This used to be easier when they were willing to help at the counter, I used to send the attachment to whoever was at the counter and they would simply print them. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AT PRINTING SERVICES. I went in today 1/3 at 10:45 AM, in hopes of getting important documents printed. I went to the self printing printer which reading the directions made no sense and didn't comprehend. I then asked the older gentleman at the counter near the printing services, asking how to print documents. I asked him twice for help and twice he told me "by reading the directions you'll be able to print". Frustrated, I went to the cashiers and asked for help. It's alright I have bought a few things here and the experience has been okay. You pretty much have to go grab a person if you need help but then they have been helpful and polite so it could be a staffing issue. They don't have the greatest seletion on a lot of things, like limited colors of cables. Small thing I know, but do you want a black internet cable running along your white wall? I have a small business and like using local resources to print and buy supplies; however, I feel I must! Every time I come in to print something there is 1 printer that is "out of order" the staff at the print department acts like I kicked their cat. The look you get for asking a question, let alone the abrupt answers is enough for me to not use this place again. The self service slowest I have ever used in my life. I think I have only used the copy service once so can't speak to that group of staff. But this store is well stocked and even when the lines are long, they move along. if you want super good service, go early, between 8 and 10 or later, after 7 pm. At 7:30 tonight there were 4 people working and the manager walked me around the store helping me figure out a lower cost alternative to solve my printing problem. The parking lot is tough now since a large Goodwill moved in. I purchased office chairs for my office and it took a few visits to decide as i consider comfort an investment! Every time i came there was a team member that helped andwer my questions. When a chair was not in stock they ordered it for me and had it delivered. One of the chairs did not work out. The return was super easy and the staff helped me get it out of my car as it had to be reboxed with receipt for return. They were all very helpful and offer great friendly customer service! I just realized that this place is cheaper than Staples. I buy a lot of binders for work projects and the binders here not on sale were $2 less than the ones I just got last week at Staples. Now to the print shop. I luckily wasn't in a hurry for my project that I had printed because it took over 2 weeks to get my project squared away. I got some customer discount cards printed up on some nice paper using my graphics. They print out of house and then ship it directly to you but in this economy and my budget this works fine. I don't usually name names in my reviews but Jade is my favorite. The two times she helped me everything was squared away. I think I only want her helping me from now on when I go in for printing stuff. Cheap binders and cheap printing services. Ill be using this more often than not. read more
