Too the rescue. The night before I was having carpet installed in my home I remembered I want to run under the carpet an ethernet cable from my router direct to the Smart Tv 12 foot away. I phoned the Mesa Superstition store just at closing time to find out if Cat6 cable was in stock. They confirmed and advised to place an on-line order for pickup the next morning when store opened. When I arrived they apologized that the 12 foot was not in stock and provided me with a 20+ foot cable at no additional charge. It's ok. Sometimes this place gets busy and I don't think the employees can keep up, especially with the downturn in economy. Some of the regular employees aren't there anymore. I'm here often to pickup printer ink and they always have it available. I can try before I buy on most of their office equipment and get and idea of what I'll be working with. These 5 Stars are for the Printing Associate/Employee that helped me yesterday--Kim. She was so incredibly patient, professional, helpful, and kind! I went all around the area trying to find the best printing places to get my art printed at. I had really unfortunate luck at other printing services so I was already kind of crabby and high strung when I got there. She was like a breath of fresh air. I could tell I had kind of a handful of a project but I could see her take a literal breath and then help me with it. She helped me right until closing and kept such a kind and wonderful disposition. The manager I think it was? Was kind of weird and really off-putting, so if I were to rate the overall store it would be lower. I want to emphasize it is KIM that is carrying y'all's rating. I had never been to this location and I was actually unaware that this location existed. I was in desperate need of a printer and knew that office max has always come in clutch. I made my way on over, drove over some like 50 potholes in the parking lot, and parked. I walked inside and headed to the front desk of the printing section. The employee saw me walk in and head towards him and he didn't say a word. I stood there and finally spoke up. He pointed me to the printers and clearly gave me a "I'm busy, don't bother me," vibe. Printing costs 15 cents and I've always had no issue at my go to location to pay with change. At this location though, they have the printer that only takes card. UGH. I was definitely not about to run my card for 15 cents. I then went back to the front to ask him if there was a way where he could help me cause I only had change on me. He looked up and told me he was busy but if I wanted to wait for him to be done, that he would help me after... (literally to print out a paper on his end would've taken the most about two minutes) I told him I would wait. I stood there and he then decided to stop what he was doing to help me. He gave me the store email, told me he was slammed with projects, and bam about two minutes later, my paper was printed. I gave him 25 cents and was on my way out.. The end. I am extremely upset with the experience I had at this location. I came in at approximately 720 PM looking for some pens, a notepad, a basic calculator, rubber bands, and some retractable badge reels. My total purchase was under $35. I was followed around by a man named Taylor who claimed he was the store manager but wasn't. I assumed he was thinking I was going to steal something. It is late and I didn't have any makeup on and I was in my sweats. He then told me that he had piles of go backs to restock but followed me down every aisle I went down. Every single aisle! Mind you, I don't frequent this store often as I work for a company who provides these little items but we do work from home after COVID. I asked him if I went to the other side of the store would he follow me and he then said that there was stuff to put back over on the other side. I brought in the art work and was told when they tried to pawn off a laminated sign in a washed out orange color not the HOT PINK that was provided in the art work - told me I need to go see a graphic designer cause the stores fancy new printer doesn't print in PINK and that washed out orange is what the printer thinks in PINK. NOPE!!! Refund issued and I went to STAPLES - guess what? They can print in PINK and I saved $3 in the overall cost. Dont bother going to ANY Office Max/ Depot. Every time I go here I have to mentally prepare for it, the staff here are always a problem. This trip was no exception. I only go here because it's 3 miles from home, if it wasn't that I would never come back here again. The worst part is always the check out. They do so much to try to get more money or more personal information out of you, because they can sell your info and make money off that. I would rate my shopping experience like this: Selection: limited, frequently out of stock. prices: high, higher than most other office supply store chains staff: they usually seem to be distracted, angry, or in a big hurry to get back to playing with their smartphones after they chase the last customer out the door. I usually have a good experience with Office Max, but this time was different. I brought my laptop in because it needed an antivirus update, and I wanted the latest version of windows installed. So I brought it in on a Sunday afternoon. Jeff was the tech we talked to. He ran a scan and said there was some mal-ware on it and it needed a tune up. He told me that to remove the mal-ware, tune it up, and install the software I requested would take 24 hours, 48 at the very most. My wife needs this laptop for school and her job, so time is of the essence. Monday I called in the evening and they told me the mal-ware was removed, the tune up was done and the antivirus was installed. They were currently installing the latest version of windows and it would be done by the next morning. Tuesday morning I called and was told it was still loading. They called about 3pm to say it was done. My wife went to pick it up and there was no antivirus installed. She was told that it was lost when the latest windows was installed and it had to be reloaded. No idea how long it would be. By now we were very unhappy as my wife needed to access files for school the next day. Finally about 8pm they called and said it was finished. By the time she got there the techs had gone home so there was no tech support there to talk to about the install. I felt the customer service was lacking. Although apologetic, they should have called to inform us of the delay when the 24 hour time had passed. They should have also checked to make sure everything had installed correctly before calling to say it was finished. As I said I usually have a good experience with Office Max, but this one has opened the possibility of taking it to the Geek Squad at Best Buy next time I need my laptop serviced. read more

I am not happy. We brought our computer in on a Sunday early afternoon for a tune up, an upgrade to Windows 10, re-install McAfee that was about to expire, and get some malware off. The guy who initially helped us(Jeff S) was very helpful and engaging. He understood our problem and explained what they were going to do. We signed the work order and paid the bill. We were told all the work would be done in 24 hours-48 at the absolute max. Okay, fine. Here is where my problem is. Customer Service. My husband called on Monday to check the progress, they said it should be done by the end of the day....well, the store closes at 9:00, and we never heard back from them the rest of the afternoon. I then stopped in after I was done with classes on Tuesday at noon....still NOT done...I was told that the site they were loading the upgrade for Windows 10 was running slow...and it may take several more hours. Are you kidding me? Okay, I know it is out of their control that the sites are running slow...anyways, about 3 hours later they call that it is done and I can come pick it up. So, I trek down to the store and the guy starts showing me the new microsoft office, and a little tutorial on Windows 10. Well, I had asked about them helping me put McAfee on my phone, and it's a good thing I did. Come to find out, it was NOT on the computer! GRRRRR...so, needless to say I walked out of there without my laptop. Again, with the answer of oh it may take several more hours... At this time I was so frustrated all I could do was sit in my car and cry. I need my laptop to work from home... So, on 8:30 Tuesday evening, I am finally leaving with my computer, but NO McAfee on my phone. .so, now I need to trek back to the store to get it on my phone. I just hope this is not a 'several hours' ordeal as I have already had too many several hour ordeals with Office Max, and frankly I don't have the time. I feel that they could have at the very least called me along the way to let me know what was going on and the problems. Even though they were apologetic, I am still upset over this. I like Office Max and their products and prices, and their store is bright and clean. But the customer service is seriously lacking. read more

A desolate wasteland with no hope of customer service. If you walked into this building on fire, the sales people (if there are any) wouldn't so much as spit on you. I went in for a desk today, no one even said "Hi' as I entered with my girlfriend. After 20 minutes of looking at desks and then finally deciding on one we still had not seen one customer service rep. I stood in the main isle and literally shouted "Hello? Anyone working today"? with no response. finally 5 minutes later a woman came and asked if we needed anything in a very lazy tone, as if we were disturbing her afternoon nap. She offered no apology or explanation as to why it took so long to help us. I asked if the desk I wanted was in stock, she scanned it, said it was in stock, told me to take the card to the cashier, and walked away hastily. I was so annoyed that after all that, I left and went to the OfficeMax location on Stapley and the US60 to buy the desk. I've worked several retail jobs and I can't comprehend how these people get away with this sort of attitude. As far as selection goes, this Office Max has the same selection. As far as customer service goes, it's not so great. I've been here several times, and the staff is always in a hurry to get away from helping me, or they are not present at all. All I needed was to drop off my FedEx package and get a receipt. Now we are required to "check in" using a computer at the copy center. This new check in prices had 2 options. Copy or Tech support. What about FedEx dropoff? So I wait, only 1 employee at the copy center that did not even acknowledge that I was waiting. No hi, I'll be right with you NOTHING! after my 15 plus minute wait I finally ask him if I could drop off my box, he said did you check in? No, there is no option for the service I need. He actually went to the computer to verify I did not check in. What! Finally I was just going to leave and NEVER go back. But then I thought I should say something to the store manager / supervisor. I went to the Office Max on Southern just the other day!! It had been about 6 months or so since I came to this location because I received some of the worst customer service ever from any store that I have ever been to. When I came just the other day the cashier, Gabby, was the nicest one. I told her all about my past visits and how she is a total upgrade for that company. She said that she started working there about a month ago. The company made at least one smart move hiring her. I hope she continues to work there and her niceness rubs off on the others! If anyone at Officemax wants to know why they're constantly losing sales to Amazon, look no further than this poorly managed store. I stopped in to get just some mailing envelopes. Went to check out. One register open. And the doofus was incredibly slow. The customer he was with was doing something he had no idea how to handle: and exchange, then a new purchase, oh yeah, I need the extended warranty, oops but I forgot to cancel the previous...and on and on. There were two manager types right nearby trying to put up some banner. Finally, after a five minute wait I barked at the cashier "Can you have someone else open a register?". He just stared like a deer in the headlights. One of the managers was busy loudly arguing with a customer about prices yelling, "Google doesn't set my prices!". But no new help was coming. After a few more minutes the woman's purchase was finished. My turn finally came and I got what I came for. But I will NEVER, EVER come back to OfficeMax. It's Amazon all the way. Every brick-and-mortar store had better wise up! You can't beat Amazon on prices, but you can on service. If you don't have service that is compelling and good, you have nothing. read more

I saw a great Hp laptop for sale. Lower price than Best buy. So i went in there. The store was clean and not busy. Couldn't find the laptop on display. So i asked someone and he helped me and got me the laptop. No problems so far. As i was paying for it the guy helping me offered a service agreement, I declined, He further asked me and offered me a lower price. Being in sales i knew that was a good thing not just give up.
