Hobby Lobby is well ... Hobby Lobby. If you know you know. If you don't I will explain. Hobby Lobby's the world over have got to be some of the most consistent places known to mankind. It's downright eerie. Every Hobby Lobby is staffed with the same identical employees. I don't have any hard proof yet,but I suspect that they are cloned from the five original employees being kept cryogenically frozen in a secrete warehouse somewhere deep in the Nevada desert, before being shipped out to their stores. Each location has the same bunch of overflowing aisles, overwhelming the senses with excited women and teenagers desperately searching for that special something. If they can't find that something special they'll just settle for anything, because by entering a Hobby Lobby they've already agreed to the unspoken rule requiring they buy something while their tag along husbands and boyfriends wear the same bored or exasperated looks. Hobby Lobby will have what you need if you go there. Because if you think you need something from Hobby Lobby then you already know they will have it. There just isn't any point in comparing this H.L. to any other Hobby Lobby because they are ALL identical, in each and every way: wonderful, packed with people and merch, and guaranteed to be wherever you need one. read more

Most Hobby lobby's don't have the friendliest cashiers, this one is definitely included. We like to shop here so we put up with it. This time was no different but what was unfortunate is we were getting two memory foam mats and they were different colors and one had no tag on it. So we told them and she was very rude stating well it's not the same one so it's a different price and it's part of textiles and not the spring shop so they looked it up online and the price was more than the other one. Well, they looked at the wrong one because after we left the store, we did not purchase the mat because it was more money, I found it on the website and it was under the spring shop and it was the price that we thought it was. So now we got to miss out on the mat that we wanted when it was the last one and it's sold out online. I really wish they would be trained to be nicer to customers because it's very frustrating. I swear it's a requirement when they're hiring people that they need to be rude. read more

i was checking out and before i said anything at all, the cashier Mary G rudely said "we DONT do tap." so i'm like oh okay, it's not the fact that she said that, it was the tone in which she said it, as if she was already upset at me and we hadn't exchanged any words at all yet. i'm having trouble transferring money to my bank to pay with card and i understand maybe that's annoying for her, but she sat and stared with a rude look on her face, tapped her fingers on the counter the whole time. i realized she seemed annoyed so i apologized and she said nothing. she just continued to stare. i finally got it figured out and felt the need to apologize again because she was still holding that look on her face and made me feel really bad about myself. it was very uncomfortable. i never go to hobby lobby, i just don't have the luxury of time to do things like this. i was very excited to shop there today up until the point of paying. i know it's common for cashiers to be rude but i was just thrown off a lot, i didn't walk up in a bad mood, i was happy to be there and i was excited to buy what i was buying, so i feel it's common courtesy to give that same energy back instead of making me feel bad for something completely out of my control. i never write reviews. i made an account to post this review because that's how much her attitude bothered me. read more

The ladies at the cash register are all really sweet and want to be very helpful. If you are getting fabric cut, be prepared to work with somebody who has no knowledge of fabric whatsoever, not saying they are not nice people just saying they struggled with cutting fabric. The store was VERY low in some stock, showing that the 'presidents'' tariffs are hitting the USA now. read more

I went to my very first Hobby Lobby store in Grand Junction, Colorado many years ago and have been a fan ever since! I am glad to have discovered stores here in Arizona. While living I. Ahwatukee the past four years, I frequented that location, & now, I live in Apache Junction & this location is only a few miles from my house. I LOVE this store & all it has to offer! I have bought many amazing items here & the customer service is top notch! Very helpful & accommodating staff here. They have a smile & a great attitude. Also, I love how this store always has discounts, making things very affordable for the customers. Stopped by this location yesterday to pick up a few items. Sadly, they are not open on Sundays - I found this out the hard way! I returned today (Monday 1/6/20), and had a very good experience! What I needed was not only in stock, it was on sale! Cha, Ching! The registers were very busy, and the lines were long. Fortunately, a spot opened up pretty quickly, so I was able to check out fast! The only negative was that one of the items I intended on purchasing was not priced, and the manager was unable to find a price for it. I guess they don't use a barcode system? They were very apologetic an I felt bad for the lady stuck behind me - oh, well! Despite the hiccup, it was a good retail experience, and I'll be back for sure! read more

I go out of my way to visit the store on Southern Avenue and Signal Butte in Apache Junction. The framing department has the best customer service of any Hobby Lobby I've been to in the Phoenix area. I recently worked with Marlene, who helped me with two watercolor paintings I had matted. One of the pictures did not look right with the matting I selected and she very graciously offered to re-do it and make it look right. She was so pleasant to work with and "made by day" when she said she "wanted to please the customer"!! You can't go wrong when doing business with this Hobby Lobby store and their framing department. Coming to Hobby Lobby is usually a fun shopping trip and experience! Until today....I cannot believe the terrible experience we had at this store. Everything was fine until checkout. We had an entire cart full of things and we headed to the checkout. There was one single line and only a few people ahead of us. There were about 4 checkers. We literally stood in line for 30 minutes waiting for the customer ahead of us to complete a transaction at the register! They had 2 carts full of items and the checker was moving at snail pace, creating a mega long line! The Hobby Lobby employee, Mary, should NOT under any circumstances be working the register! She moved slower than molasses. It was sloth speed! I've never seen this in real life, until today. She picked up each item, entered the price, and then proceeded to wrap each item at sloth speed. We stood behind this scene and couldn't believe what we were witnessing. What started as one long line, soon broke off into 4 separate lines. Even though we were next in line, not one checker called us over into a new line. There were no signs indicating where the line or lines began. There were multiple very pushy and aggressive customers who were cutting in front of people, complaining, blocking others with their carts, and screaming/crying children in the lines. There we stood for 30 minutes waiting to get to the counter to just pay and leave! Hobby Lobby needs to train employees on how to properly break up a long line. You always call the next person in line. So here, people who just got into the line and were in the back of the line, ended up getting to checkout right away at other registers, meanwhile we were stuck waiting on Mary to figure out what the heck she was doing for 30 minutes. Unlike Mary, we have things to do and not stand in line all day! Other Hobby Lobby employees working the registers just allowed grown adults to cut the lines, and act like children at the checkout. Unbelievable! Will think twice before shopping here again! read more

They have all kinds of home decorations and art supplies that you can't find in your average store. Recently she helped us with custom framing a large jigsaw puzzle of "The Lord's Supper" the puzzle is 70+ years old and is quite brittle. Very long check out line -7 people, they finally called for a back-up, who took the last people in line. Frustrating but ok. More customers, they called another cashier who did the same! One woman pointed out that people were being passed over as 'next customer', front end manager did Nothing and let her walk out. When she called for another cashier who Finally said she'd help next in line, I said how about all of us in the original line?! Turns out she was the store manager. No apology and just annoyed. Crappy attitude on top of that. It's funny, they don't have a link to do a survey on their receipts like many large stores... no surprise. Employees in fabrics were upset and saying that no one could take their break yet which put them in a less than pleasant mood. Sounds like no one is happy there and it shows. Won't return to this store-the one on Greenfield & 60 is much better experience. Steer clear. read more

Was just in the store and found a framed picture that was in the isle that had the signs that says the pictures were marked down 40% clearly. The cashier and manager said it wasn't on sale so I told them I would take them back and show them whether it was at and that the sign says it's on sale and they refused to go look with me. Pretty poor customer service and false advertising. I don't think they are even going to go back to check or change the pictures if they were marked wrong. Really not fair to the customers at all! Needless to say I didn't purchase the picture. Hopefully this distant happen often! If it fits I will ship at the home store, Michaels, or @home from this point on! read more

*Customer Service 1/2 Stars, Nothing special here at all. They have plenty of employees walking around but not a single one asked if we needed help with anything. I even stood next to an employee that was restocking in the isle I was needed to be in for over five minutes. I needed some Ribbon and went to this Location which is pretty close to where I live and found exactly what I needed. I ended up walking around the store and found a couple of things priced really well. If I had anything to do with this store, I would not have employees siting on the floor working as they are blocking the aisle and also, customer service throughout the store is not very friendly. The store is stocked very well, but employees don't seem happy to be there. Oh well, thank God I don't have to work there, I can go in, buy what I need and leave. I do like that they are closed on Sundays for their employees to share Sunday with their families and /or Religious beliefs. read more

I had a return and couldn't find my mask so I used a tissue, it covered my mouth and nose and I held it in place, so there was no one at the return counter so I said I have a return where should I go? Well Vicki W was cleaning baskets in the not sanitized area, she said she would take me at register 4. Vicky didn't say hi or look at me, then said I don't have another penny! So I said will then you will have to get one, because we all play the game. In all my years of visiting Hobby Lobby I have never met someone so rude and unfriendly. Vicky time for a new job!! I have bought two Christmas trees there that broke within a year. The trees are supposed to have a three year warranty but that's not honored at all. My prelit tree stopped working on the bottom. They told me over the phone to bring the tree in and they would take care of it. So I loaded it up and drove it to the store and suddenly it's a different story. I drag that tree in there and they offer to give me 10% of what I paid for it or give me a few strands of lights. I was so upset I left in tears. read more

I came in looking for DIY wedding invitations. The store was staffed appropriately, but no one would help me. When I did find what I was looking for, I was disappointed with the selection. I asked a girl who worked there if those were the only bridal invitations in the store, and without even turning around she just said no. That was rude, so I turned around to leave.
