This is a smaller location but has a lot of variety and is set up well. I just needed some thread and while the options were limited to just 3 multipacks of thread, it totally met my need. I was surprised to find they had a really great selection of embroidery floss. They had a lot of materials for different types of projects and many areas that gave good inspiration on trying new art forms. They also do custom framing. The front area and by the register also had fun gift ideas and trinkets. And there's a huge selection of Monster spray paint. read more

I love getting new sketch books here, I fill them up pretty often and having them go on sale now and again is pretty cool. It's a small but mighty store and has something for everyone. If you love to do art , then this is a good place for you to visit. I like that is right next to the campus, and ready to park and or walk to, I haven't asked for service but they have been kind to offer. It's a bit pricey, but quality is, so no complaints. read more

I honestly cannot believe I have not been here before this recent visit, as I love crafting, but usually had gone to the Joann's down the street (RIP). I was on the hunt for some specific paper for bookbinding and was not disappointed by the options. Not only did I find the blank paper I needed, I found a great selection of more specialty and fun paper as well as stationary pens and a few other basic bookbinding materials. They have much more than that though, including all your arts and craft needs, paints, pens, pencils, canvas, etc and fun trinkets, cute stationary type such as journals, stickers, etc. The prices are all very reasonable and they do offer student/teacher discounts. They were running a back to school donation drive for the local schools, which you received a 20% coupon for a return visit. It's only downfall is the parking, alas it is on campus and shared space with lots of high traffics restaurants and groceries, but if you don't find a spot right away, usually a lap or two will do it. read more

What a great art store. I had off Blick, but had never experienced the pleasure it was to go in one. The employees there were eager and happy to help. They have some of everything! You won't always get a product due to selling out or simply need to order from the website. From the few art supply stores that I have been to, I'd say that they are matched up price wise. Great experience. I will be back!! read more

Ooooof, guy who works here, Bob, just accused my boyfriend of stealing when he went to put my keys in his pocket. They look like keys, they sound like keys, they're very clearly keys. Extraordinarily off-putting and a huge disappointment for Bob, as we have a large project we're working on and need quite a few supplies. Do better, Bob. read more

Kat in the framing department was a gem! She made picking & agreeing on the right frame choice for our artwork easy and fun. And the 60% off coupon didn't hurt either. We highly recommend her to help with all your art framing needs. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Ms. Kat in the framing department of Blick's in Tempe AZ! She was knowledgeable, experienced, thoughtful and kind! She quoted me a very reasonable price on a sketch of Malcom X that my attorney daughter gifted me, and Ms. Kat surprised me with a call ahead of the guaranteed turnaround time! The job was amazing! The product is priceless! Chris read more

For all my Artists in the game... you know this place.... for Hobbyist & Craft Makers... you know the others. When it comes to a robust selection of art supplies targeted for artists, this "IS" the spot in Tempe. Found what I was looking for when it came to stretch canvas boards in various sizes to accommodate a lot of African and Cuban artwork I recently collected. One particular canvas was extremely challenging so I decided to have it custom framed. The time frame said about 7-10 days and then I got the call ready for pickup in the window. Upon pick up, I was very pleased with what they were able to do with the canvas and more (more being the enclosed backing and hanging attachments. Not sharing pics as it's a little "risque" for some but it's perfect. Since picking up my photo, I've been back a few times for misc items. read more

I initially went to Blick in Tempe for custom framing for my fine art colored pencil piece and realized that the pricing was steeper than I had expected. The staff person in the store recommended considering a standard size premade frame and then having a mat cut and selecting my glass. It was a perfect solution as I was able to get the mat I wanted and UV glass I needed it. I learned a new process and would recommend Blick Tempe. read more

Super fun art store! Had to stop by on our visit to the area. Picked up a few goodies to take back to Seattle with us.

Great spot for art supplies, always much better than the other crafts stores in my opinion. I always loved that Blick offers student discounts. However, keep in mind that once you are no longer a student, your account may not be found. At least that was my experience. Nonetheless, I found all that I was looking for. There only seemed to be one person working at the time, but thankfully I didn't need help looking around as they were busy manning the register. read more

Oh my gosh, I am so happy with all my framing. I came in and Kat was patient and spent time with me finding the perfect combination of mats and frames. I had 3 pictures completed by Kat and they all turned out amazing! She is very talented and I could not be more happy! read more

I had a canvas painting that was warped and sagging and Kat did an amazing job re-stretching it to look perfect!!

Love everything about this place! my personal go to for everything from cotton rag paper, artist grade watercolors, gouache, journaling supplies, drafting materials, paint brushes, etc. the list can go on and on. They have pretty much everything and things are very reasonably priced in comparison with Amazon, which I do not currently support. I love Blicks and their selection and staff is incredible. read more

Very professional and friendly framer for my two prints. Everything done really quickly and well. will definitely use again.

I came to Blick for professional wedding prints and framing. I had an idea of doing 3 large frames with white matting that I had seen on Instagram and Kat at Blick brought my vision to life. She went above and beyond what I had hoped and they turned out AMAZING. We get compliments every time someone is over. She even added in a line detail that made them look so custom and knew exactly what proportions to use and frame materials to suggest for the vision. I highly recommend using Kat for all of your framing needs! Will definitely be getting more done in the future. read more

When in town, Blick is a must for any artist or hobbyist. Though this location is a major pain to get in/out of... (the one minus star) there's something to say about the younger generation of/in customer service. Relax. Smile more. Laugh more, even with folks that are older than you. Don't be selective or "put out..." Learn from the older generations... Blicks' prices are competitive with bigger box stores and have a niche in all things drawing, painting is still impressive. Please consider Tucson as a future location. read more

Really love how they framed these two unusual pieces. Plus great friendly service and work was on time.

I was fortunate to work with a very talented framer, Cat, who stayed after hours to help me with an original work. She did a superb job. Thank you, Cat. read more

Kathy and the crew were fast, professional, and went above and beyond to adjust and frame my artwork. I couldn't be more happy!

This art store is amazing, the staff leaves a lot to be desired. There is a elderly man that works there, that has zero customer service skills. It wasn't just me there were two younger girls that were trying to use the restroom that he was also giving a hard time to. They are located next to one of the best tea and boba shops in the state, I guess because of COVID, you aren't allowed to drink in the store as it requires you to move your mask. I wanted to take pictures for the review, and was hoping on making purchases but I was getting irritated just being there. Don't bring a drink, and get in and out quick without having to ask for help and you'll be fine, the selection is impressive. read more

Blick Art Materials - Storefront - Art Supplies Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

Great place for all artists including kids. My daughter and her best friends spent hours exploring the store.

I'm in love with this store! I assumed it was pricey being right next to campus, but it is totally affordable and fairly priced. I shopped around online first due to Covid and ended up here and couldn't be happier. It's small and cozy with supplies stacked to the ceiling. They have a great selection of paints, and all seemed to be on sale. If you like watercolor like I do, they sell Arches here, but that's about all they have...not like I need another sketchbook anyway. I did find some cute 4x4 and 6x6 Strathmore squares. I also stocked up on drawing utensils and artist tape and other bits and bobs and was very pleased with the selection. You can have your art framed here, but as with any framing, it can be pricey. If you sign up for a card you get the discounted web prices in store so that's a perk for ya. I think I saved about 10 bucks off a 100 dollar purchase. read more

I've been going here for school supplies and usually they have everything I need. This is probably the first time I had a sucky experience with them. I seen online that they had the basswood sticks I needed for a project so I went in-store to get them as the 48 count bundle they offer online. Found it just as it's displayed online in a plastic wrap that encased all 48 sticks. At checkout they told me they don't sell the bundles although there were literally wrapped bundles right by the single sticks. They asked what I was talking about and even after showing them what I thought I was going to be getting online they wouldn't honor it and I had to pay the original price per stick ($40 total including tax) versus the $13-15 I was expecting to pay. The next day I returned 28 sticks and the cashier credited me back the amount I kept??? I only got $16 when it should've been more than $20. I was so over this place that I just left and am currently hoping I don't have to go back there again. read more

I am so appreciative to the employee who helped me today (whose name I didn't catch). He helped me pick out paper for pastel painting and gave me some advice about pastels and pastel instructors. He is a pastel artist himself! As a beginner, it's so nice to get support, advice, and encouragement. Thank you for picking and keeping the best employees! read more

Kat did a beautiful job framing my art! She was very helpful with choosing the best frame for it.

I often turn to Blick for my supplies. I'd love to see more ceramics glazes and underglazes.

Has a much better selection of art supplies than Michael's. Only negatives are very small aisles and nobody seemed to be around to help us. High school students receive a discount which is nice. read more

Blick has always provided me the materials I need to succeed as an architecture major at ASU. The staff is always very helpful and kind, especially Bob and Alexa. They always make sure that I find what I need and make shopping at the store a positive experience. My only complaint is that blick can have limited inventory, and some items are a bit more pricy compared to the competitors. read more

This store was heaven for artists! I visited Blick for the first time tonight and I was shocked to see how many amazing deals they had and all the amazing products they carried that would would not find at any other Art supply store. However, I did not have a very great customer service experience. While in line, there was a young woman cashier (with pink hair) who was being incredibly rude to everyone. She would cut people off from speaking and ask another question, louder, as if she thought they were stupid. When it was my turn, I told her I was there to pick up an art kit for a class I'm taking. She checked to see if she had anymore, they didn't which is okay. So she basically gave me a list of the materials I needed, and told me to go find it myself and that they closed in 20 minutes. I just left because I didn't want to be that person who stayed super late, and I just didn't want to deal with her again. She was probably a college student, as am I, and I get that it sucks to work so much and to also do school. I just feel like if you're having a rough day maybe don't lash out on other struggling college students who didn't do anything to you. But the other 2 employees, I didn't get their name, were being super helpful. A man helped me out before I talked to the rude woman and he was being super sweet. I would give 5 stars but because of my experience with that pink haired lady, I'll have to give it a 4. read more

Great Store- Less than desirable service! If you are desperate for a specific product, that you can't find anywhere else then I would recommend; however Jerry's Artarama in Tempe has terrific service. No greeting when I entered the store. Waited on line quite longer than I expected and when I got to the cash register- no hello..thank you for waiting. Actually the guy (dark straight hair) seemed to be irritated. I purchased one item and probably would've come back to look around for other items but I will take my business elsewhere. - A person who works in the service industry! read more
