I hate to give this 5-Stars because it's already too busy! This place is the best breakfast place I've ever been to. Seriously. Not even a question. If you're going, get one of their "boxes" as it's their specialty. They come on a starch but you can easily swap for spinach or go 50/50. Honestly this place is amazing. About $18-22 for a breakfast which is lots, but it's really only $5+ than a mediocre breakfast anywhere. read more

Very innovative menu and tasty dishes! Great weekend brunch! We have tried almost everything on the menu and they always deliver! We love the boxed menu items and the brioche. Their bratwurst is also the best! This place is a truly a hidden breakfast gem. read more

Can't get enough of OEB! Food is always so good and staff is so nice. The tuna crudo is my ultimate fave- half spinach half potatoes! read more

The excellent ingredients and creative combinations are marred by not attending to the simplest management practices. It starts with the menu that has too many heavy and too many sweets. There's no light breakfast choices. Assembling one yourself from the "sides" gives you a smaller meal at a greater price. Strangely there are no fresh-sheets with the specials on them nor did the waitstaff mention them. The "banana cream pie French Toast" special was only written on one small chalk board sitting behind the hostess. The presentations were the other problem. My lox and bagel sandwich were oddly drizzled with an oily substance that made it unpleasant to grab and eat. Cutting the bagel with a steak knife was unsuccessfully frustrating. Other presentations were of the stark mother's-cooking variety. The mix of making good food inedible and okay food unappealing would be easy to fix. It only needs a little management attention. read more

Best place for breakfast in Calgary. Try to book a table early as wait times can be in excess of an hour without a reservation. The entire menus is awesome. read more

Not impressed with my order. I don't know how this more expensive 'threesome' breakfast is any different from their classic breakfast which I think is even better because it comes with potatoes! The food tastes average just as it looks. Overall I feel that the place is overrated. I can name other affordable yet hearty breakfast places! read more

I come to Calgary often and when I do this is the first stop in the morning. The food is steadily amazing and I have always found the staff to be friendly! read more

Excellent food, staff and management. I've been here a bunch of times and it's one off the best brunches in Calgary. If you're looking for high quality food and ingredients check it out. read more

Great breakfast spot. gets super busy so make sure you come early. The staff are great and there are a ton of options.

Love the food here and the service is wonderful too. Great farm fresh eggs for purchase as well!

Great portions, lots of Keto options! Great service! Food was delicious, had the meatball and egg bowl with spinach.

Amazing food, coffee, and service. Tried the poutine and wow! Your servers take pride in their work and were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. read more

I've renamed this place Overly Extravagant Bollocks. Also why is it "Over Easy Breakfast" Breakfast Company... like an ATM Machine. Small rant over silly names, I just don't get this place. I get that they are inspired by great chefs and great ingredients, I can just never get anything that resembles a classic breakfast or anything remotely appetizing. I thought doing classic ideas well and with great ingredients would be big on their agenda but everything is trying to reinvent breakfast with expensive and disappointing results. There are other places in the vicinity or Calgary that do breakfast far better: Reds, Blue Star Diner, Diner Deluxe, The Beltliner... the list goes on. Glad to avoid like the plague while the staggering wait list of pretentious idiots keeps the wait lists to astronomical times. read more

Wow, just wow! Friendly, prompt service. Wonderful farm to table food. I loved the fresh flavors of the Artisanal Bagel Sammy (with fruit) and my husband loved the daily special - short rib poutine. Definitely check this place out if you are in Calgary. read more

Overall it's a nice atmosphere. Myself and my significant other had the lox and bagel, and unfortunately, we were both underwhelmed. There was simply far too much cream cheese and far too little smoked salmon. The side salad was made of only arugulaIt does come out with a nice presentation, but the balance of ingredients for $20 was simply not there. Hopefully if we go back, a different item will be better. I see that the owner has commented back. I'm not sure how that addresses my review (I.e. looking into menu item, etc), but there you have it. read more

I'm only giving them 3 stars for 2 things . First of all the host was struggling to find my reservation , but she took care of it and she fixed later on it wasn't that much of a big deal.. Second of all I was sat at the bar and the bartender never asked me how the food was , and She didn't care about if I want any refills or not. Besides that the food was good , cooked thoroughly , inspired menu, busy place and expensive. Be ready to spend min $20 and up per person. I would definitely comeback because it's one of those places that you wanna go at least once per month. read more

We arrived at OEB when it had a zero wait time. When entering there was a couple that entered before us, the lady at the front said it would be about a 5 minute wait. After 45 minutes and watched tons of people sit after us, we ended up leaving. Take reservations or something, such a waste a time. read more

Really good place. Their food is great, my only concern was that when i went there was a huge line of people, and it kinda took my vibe down. Its a really popular place i understand that but maybe bring more tables in or bring some more outside. Cause it was super busy we stood there a for a little while and i was starving. Other than that food a spectacular for my standards and the service was great! Our waiter came to make sure we had everything we needed. Very neat place would come back. read more

After being a loyal OEB lover at other locations for years, I think this will be the last time I give them my money. After placing a take out order, I just arrived home with my meal, popped the top off to find a medium length black hair sitting RIGHT on my food. It's not the first time this has happened but other times have been in restaurant. Guys. Come. On. read more

It's great to have a chain like this in Calgary, Sorry they closed their branch on Edmonton Trail which was the original but some very good and very innovative ways to do breakfast. Love the decor at the downtown branch read more

This really is one of the best breakfast in the city -- or anywhere! The servers are so friendly and the food is consistent. Soul in a bowl will forever have a special place in my life!!! read more

I like this place, I really do. I don't understand why it has to be so loud, I went for breakfast with a friend this morning and we had to repeat ourselves a number of times just to be heard. No that has nothing to do with the food, and nothing to do with the quality of the service, both were outstanding. Again like I say I really enjoy this place, but they could do with the music being about half as loud. read more

Eggceptional service and food at great prices. I love all of the cute egg decor. I feel like there are so many of these near me so it's very convenient, and I haven't ever had to wait for a table, at least not long enough to remember. This is my go-to for brunch. read more

This is likely an issue with the app but I saw that there was no wait so took my time to come in. At the business, there is a 90min wait. Incredibly frustrating as I am a hungry pregnant lady that was very much looking forward to brunch here. Bad for business and for consumer care. read more

Utilized waitlist function on yelp app, and its estimated time was wrong. But still it's much better than just waiting an hour outside of the restaurant. Very busy but they serve really quick. Foods were awesome! Coffee was good too. I will probably visit this restaurant again. read more

Did I actually just get charged $20 for 1 pancake, 2 eggs(cooked wrong), and 3 pieces of bacon?! I thought it came with hash browns as well, but nope I had to order those separate. (fYI they are potato wedges, not hash browns. The same as you get at Tim Hortons) There you have it. A basic no frills breakfast for just under $30.00 with tip. It's actually so outrageous that it's funny. read more

We reserved a spot in line (for a party of 2) using the Yelp app as we were getting ready in the morning. When we arrived to OEB we were promptly seated. Our server took our orders almost immediately upon which the food was swiftly delivered, with everything cooked perfectly! However, there were two minor problems (that resulted in the 4 star rating). The first being we requested almond milk for addition to our coffee, and it was forgotten by our server until we politely reminded them. Second, many of the staff appeared to be physically drained, they weren't particularly smiley which I can only imagine is due to the sheer number of patrons waiting to be served. Overall great experience, however I highly recommended using the yelp app to wait in line prior to arriving (and the "gold digga" bowl is amazing, do half spinach and half potato for your base)! read more

I suggest going to the Edmonton trail location. The 4th Street location is stressful. I went two Sundays back to back this past couple weeks. I had to go a second time to really see if it was me or the atmosphere. I understand there may be a clash with everyone showing up for a table vs everyone on the "no wait app". It is a zoo, it is uncoordinated, there is just a gangle of people in the foyer. There was a server who had to yell to the crowd to get in formation... Anyways food was cold, and I ordered the eggs benny. Cold hollandaise never did anyone any good. When I went to find the restroom...I had to walk in font of the front line where food comes out because of how crowded the tables are. EW! That's basically walking in the pass through of a restaurant! read more

Amazing food! We added ourself to the wait list before coming, but were seated as soon as we checked in. The waitress was very kind and helpful to my toddler - who absolutely loved the pancakes. I had the Madam Croque - highly suggest, but could feed two people. Come hungry and leave satisfied. read more

This is what peak breakfast form looks like. The decor is comfy, the service pleasant, and the food is absolutely out of this world. The flavor, the ingredients, the presentation, there is no comparison. It's not cheap, and the lineup to get in can be a hassle (less so now that there's more than one tiny location) but it is absolutely, without a doubt, completely worth it. Your taste buds will thank you. read more

Love love going here for breakfast with my friends ! I have ate at the place on Edmonton trail several times and wanted to try this one on 4th Street. Met up with a gang of girl pals and we had an awesome time! Food was terrific and we felt spoiled by the great service and tasty dishes we ordered! If you go on a weekend, use the No Wait App so we got our table at a specific time . I felt sorry for all the people lined up trying to snag a spot and watching all the delicious food being served. Only problem was circling around the block & area trying to find a parking spot! Stressful & not fun if you have a large car. But the delicious food made up for it. I've had the Soul in a Bowl ( goodness in a chinese takeout box), upstream Benny ( smoked salmon bennies... looked so awesome) and the Breakfast in Tuscany ( so yummy)! You can't go wrong - all the food looked awesome & tasty sooooo great! You may never go back to a Denny's or Humptys after this! read more
