Oddball has some of the best food in Houston. Their food has so much flavor, and you can order bowls packed full of veggies or with veggies in addition to meat. Everything is cooked perfectly with the best flavor and textures I've experienced in Houston so far. The sweet potato is delicious, broccoli is amazing, falafel is perfect, and the list goes on. Highly recommend a veggie & falafel bowl. It's too good not to try! Hummus and veggie wrap are great too. Only negative is they include plasticware with meals. I bring my bamboo utensils with me so it's usually not an issue. Hopefully they will make improvements to their environmentally friendly and waste reducing practices very soon. read more

Came to Finn Hall to grab a bite before catching a game and was excited to see what options they had. I could have lapped around a dozen times and not felt confident in my selection of where to eat with all the intriguing options, but Oddball ended up catching my eye the most. The breakfast menu in particular had a few items I wish had been available, but the lamb chorizo fries sounded like the perfect pregame meal and they certainly lived up to it. The chorizo had the classic kick to it that was countered perfectly with the creamy garlic sauce and feta cheese. While the garlic sauce was creamy, it still had a strong garlic flavor that would make for a phenomenal dipping sauce on its own. The fries themselves were nothing special, but with add ins this good you only need the fries to be a vessel. So glad I took a chance on this and had a nontraditional brunch dish - Lamb Chorizo Hash - made fresh to order. It came in a huge bowl that I split with my partner and we barely finished it. Oddball! In my opinion, this is the sleeper star of Finn Hall. I visited the food hall at least 5-10 times before trying this Mediterranean joint. I was lured in one morning by their vegetable-forward brunch menu, and decided to try the Full Egyptian Breakfast. I was blown away!! I loved the flavorful veggies--especially the pickled cauliflower! Since that fateful morning I've tried the Hummus Bowl and the Shakshuka (only available for brunch!) and both were stellar. Oddball is reputed to have the best falafel in town, and while definitely flavorful, it didn't knock my socks off like I expected. That being said, I'm not a huge falafel fan and therefore might not be the best judge--so I'm not knocking any stars off for that. If you've been frequenting Finn Hall and haven't given Oddball a try--be sure to do so! And the lamb chorizo was flavorful l without being super greasy like pork chorizo. The shawarma kind of let me down, I must admit. It certainly wasn't bad, but it didn't have me in my feelings like the fries. They didn't grill the wrap once it was constructed, and I think that made the pita harder to bite. This is the "brick-and-mortar" food hall/food court location of a popular farmers' market food truck. The staff are very friendly here. I had a nice falafel sandwich (in a pita wrap) here with baba ganush as a nice side "dip". I usually have leftovers when I eat out but I quite enjoyed this and ended up eating all of it. They are located in Finn Hall which has a variety of other food stalls. Counter service, but expect "downtown prices" for everything in Finn Hall. I went to the location inside of Finn Hall. FOOD The first dish is the lamb "chorizo" hash. To start off it was very good, the potatoes were crispy and hot. The lamb chorizo had good flavor and texture to it, especially when combined with the Gouda and their sauce. I appreciated the cilantro and spring onion to cut through the fat. However with the size of the dish, which made the price of the dish well worth it, the richness and fattiness was too much. The Full Egyptian Breakfast was good but a bit disjointed. The falafel was good but not amazing. ATMOSPHERE I actually really liked the openness of Finn Hall and the natural lighting into the area. I wish their bar seating was a bit more extensive like some of the other vendors but I understand that there are area constraints. Overall a very nice space with very personable employees. Tried Oddball Eats from a coworker recommendation. Ordered the Spicy Curry Meatball Sandwich. Great taste...not too spicy. Perfect size for lunch. Also tried the pickled turnips. OE gave me a free serving. Those things have a little kick and are addicting. I don't even really like turnips, but loved the pickled turnips. Service was quick...prepared right on the spot. I came here last night while checking out Finn Hall. It's a great option if you're in the mood for Mediterranean food. I was able to order the chicken shawarma in a bowl and get the pita on the side. It was really good. There were sliced grape tomatoes, persian cucumbers and lots of parsley with tender, flavorful chicken thighs. I also added the red spicy sauce that they have at the pick-up area. It was really fresh and great. My order also came with some sumac pita chips which were really flavorful like lemon-y and herbs and complimented my dish nicely. If you like parsley order this dish because its all over it, I on the other hand am a small fan but it did round out the dish. read more

I tried the chicken shawarma wrap (which came with a small bag of chips), and it was pretty good, though my favorite chicken shawarma wrap at Phoenicia a few blocks away is hard to beat (and costs less). If they're going to charge about $11 (including tax) for the wrap, I'd suggest that they throw in some hummus on the side too. I stumbled upon this place by attending urban harvest farmers market. The market runs every Saturday morning usually 8-12pm. I was looking for my usual vegan goodies & happened stop by the food truck to check out the menu. I see falafel sandwich so im already on board. I order the sandwich, I ask for it spicy & a few minutes later success. While I was waiting I started talking to a guy who was waiting on two falafel sandwiches, one for him & one for his wife. He assured me the sandwich was excellent. The sandwich itself was superb! Definitely one of the best falafel sandwiches I've had in Houston. Definitely up in the ranks of Phoenicia & Gyro King, which also have superb sandwiches. Veggies where fresh, pickled turnips were not too bitter, falafels cooked & seasoned perfectly. Service was good. Everything is made to order so it did take a little bit, but nothing terrible. My conversation with the locals made it pleasant. So my fiance and I walked over to the little farmer's market that was going on by Kirby's Ice House. We showed up and realized that we were both really hungry, and in luck because there were 3 or 4 food trucks waiting beside the market. After looking over the menu, I decided to get the falafel plate and the feta fries. The wait was a little long, but it was towards the end of the farmer's market so it was totally acceptable. We took our first bites in to the fries and OH MY GOSH!! They were so dang tasty. I think they were the best fries I've ever had. The sauce to dip the falafels in was delicious as well. Quick Tips: Tried this food stand at the City Hall Farmer's Market (every Wednesday) on a coworkers suggestion. My recommendation: order some extremely reasonably priced falafel and grab a spot in the sun for a nice getaway from the grind. Food: I want to try everything, but the falafel was delicious so it will be hard to not order it again next time. You can tell the care that is put into the food and I love that the falafel is cooked right there in front of you. It takes a little longer, but delicious when piping hot. I recommend adding the hot sauce too if you can handle it! I want to try the spicy curry meatball sandwich next! I've tried the spicy curry meatball, falafeel and vietnamese sandwich, respectively from my most to least favorite. The curry meatball sandwich has a great curry flavor and definitely something you should get if you're looking for a curry taste. I wasn't a fan of the vietnamese. It was just decent in my opinion. Made it a point to look up where Oddball was going to be on one Wednesday night, and arranged my schedule that day so I'd be able to give it a try, after a friend's strong recommendation. It hit the spot! The falafel wrap and the feta fries were really, really good, and I was thoroughly satisfied after devouring them. My friend had the lamb sausage fries and he really enjoyed them, too. You can safely order here knowing that you'll get something delicious. 4 stars and not higher because I found the prices to be a little steep ($16 for a falafel wrap and fries), and even though it's really good, I just wouldn't make it a part of my staple eats at that price (also wouldn't because fried food isn't a normal part of my diet, but that's besides the point). The man who runs the truck, Rani, was kind, and the operation seems to be run well, so all in all, I give it 4 solid stars. FinnHall is great. Oddball Eats is fantastic! I had the chicken shawarma sandwich with a side salad (rotational I believe - quinoa) that came with pita chips. So, I believe OE (Oddball Eats for the acronym-challenged) is known for their Falafel, this sammich is delicious. It's the perfect blend of spices and flavor wrapped up into a perfect portions size. In addition, I had to try to the lamb chorizo fries. This combo could probably be my best decision so far this year, except for maybe when I rescued a puppy on New Year's Day. To top it off, I quenched my thirst with their signature mint lemonade.
