My partner wanted to grab lunch here so we tried for the first time this place. We got a simple sandwich and elote which the staff said it should take 15-20 mins. We waited and waited it past 40+ mins and I went to ask. - First was that they lost our order number and they couldn't find it. - Second the manager began to say our order was taken by someone else and then that my partner grabbed it. Switching her words back and forth and not believing what we had said. I asked how did we grab our stuff if I still have the device to notify when our food is ready. - Third she completely stopped talking to us and went to go help at other customers. I told her we want our money back and she said, "well I'm not going to refund for the drinks you had". Ma'am, that's not how you run a business. Just admit you messed up and take ownership of your mistakes to help a customer out. - Fourth she mentioned that other tickets have been lost today and other foods have been stolen before. This just shows how disorganized this placed is. We were able to ask for our money back but it was a battle about it. I was disappointed because we wanted to support your business but at this service? Heck no! Do not come here. And from reading other reviews now we did not miss on the food.

I ordered the Tejano Cesar Zepplin and added double chicken, pickled onions and halved tomatoes with a side of tomato, basil soup and it was all so good. I've never had a zeppelin until before now and it's the best way to describe it is that it's the cross between a sandwich and a salad. What it is exactly is a loaf of bread with the inside taken out so that it's like more of a shell and then it is a salad bowl like mixture stuffed in there. I feel like it's the perfect lunch because It's super filling, but also very light, and healthy! What more can you ask for. Wish I could even give this location 6 stars because I came about 40 minutes before close and he gave me 2 bread puddings for free because they were about to close.

They rave about being a halel deli so even their bacon is all beef. ( I eat pork but noting it for those who don't) The Reuben sandwich was quite tasty. The bread & meat were toasted just right, not too hard. And the marbled rye bread was really good. They allowed me to add whatever veggies I wanted with no up charge so the onions, tomatoes, peppers & cucumber add-ons made for terrific enhancements to the basic reuben. They have tables for dining in as well as some outdoor seating. I've been several times & the sandwiches are consistently good and the service is always great. Try them out!

It has a ton of thinly sliced pastrami with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing on marble rye. The meat is pretty high quality and I really liked the sauce on it. This is the one and only location here and a great stop for all kinds of sandwiches. Their menu includes innovative offerings and iconic flavors, essentially the best of both worlds. If you're craving a classic or simple sandwich, you can get that. However, if you're looking for something special or out of this world, you can also get it. Ike's specializes in sandwiches with their Dutch Crunch bread and Dirty Sauce, both unique in its own way. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, vegan, or on a gluten-free diet, their menu has it all. I personally am not a super fan of the Dutch Crunch bread since I find it a bit too harsh on the palate and somewhat dry, but love the Dirty Sauce (make it extra or on the side). I enjoy subbing the Dutch Crunch with either French or Sourdough. With over 300 unique sandwiches on the menu, there's a sandwich for everyone. My favorites have been the Menage A Trois (halal chicken, honey mustard, BBQ Sauce, real honey, pepper jack, swiss, cheddar), Ike's Reuben (pastrami, mack Sauce, purple slaw, gouda), Joker (all beef meatballs, fried zucchini, Ike's red pesto, ranch), and Grant Pinkerton, a Houston exclusive (Pinkerton Brisket, pastrami, BBQ aioli, provolone). All of my sandwiches have been stuffed and tasty, worth it! However, I find some menu items to be subpar in quality and flavor (chicken strips). The service is typically quick, efficient, and friendly. There are more than a handful of tables inside and some out on the patio. The shared parking lot can get very crowded as it is packed with lots of other businesses.

Honestly, in the beginning it was pretty rough, slow service, incorrect orders, and the sandwiches just weren't as good as what I was used to getting in California. That said, I kept coming back every now and then hoping things would improve, and I'm glad I did. My last few visits have been great. The sandwiches have been fresh and really tasty, and the customer service has been solid. I also spoke with Jose, and he mentioned he's been working hard to turn things around, and it definitely shows. Not sure why they don't have more locations yet, but I hope they expand soon!

I mean my pocket book is probably better for it because I want to buy the whole store but honestly I've been missing out. The place is cute and welcoming from the corner sign on the building to the moment you step in- bright, inviting, great displays so you know where to go. You can't get lost in here with the signage, but you can't definitely get lost in the aisles with all the great, unique choices. The ready food display has so many Mediterranean treats, some I've had before some I've never heard of and everything I tried was amazing. We got the cabbage rolls and Armenian veggie dolmas. Great flavor, both specific items I haven't had before. Nice citrus, spiced flavor to these. I'd say they're have to try items. Not only found jarred tomato paste, which I've been on the hunt for but they had choices in this category and that's another first for me. Will have to go back and try the others. Also got the cured Serrano ham -amazing. And I thought the prices were going to be insane having a spot right in the middle of the city and nope- pleasantly surprised for my goodies, great prices even less than some of the other stores I frequent in the suburbs. I'll be back again and again and again until I try the whole store lol. Definitely give them a try, you won't regret it

It been a Houston institution since 1999. Walking into K&G's can be quite overwhelming on the first visit. There's just so much to see, be it Autographs, Caricatures, Playbill's or their delicious cakes, treats, breads, and Pickles. However, the real overwhelming experience is the menu. Anything you could possibly want is listed on the menu. I recommend looking t it online before coming, just so you can have an idea of what you might want to eat. My dad(96) and I are frequent visitors and we always seem to get the open faced roast beef, which is stacked high and there is always left overs for eating at home the next day. The pickles are a fan favorite for me, and I tend to devour several of them. This visit I decided to try the fried fish sandwich (made with halibut) with onion rings and french fries and my friend, a Houston native who had never been here, went for the Schleppy Joe with onion rings. These sandwiches were stunning and wonderful. I saved half for to go so I could have their classic New York Cheesecake... the best in the city. The entire dining experience was top notch, exactly the experience I always have. Ziggy knows how to make the customers dining experience an "experience", I have never had a bad one, from the service down to the cleanliness of the entire place. My niece wanted the chocolatey-est dessert on the menu so our awesome waiter (a very personable and kind guy) recommended a multi-layered chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and we decided to have it a la mode. He asked if we wanted it hot or warm. We ordered it warm and in hindsight we wish we'd ordered it hot but it was still perfect for a chocolate fix. He even brought out a candle for the cake when he found out her birthday was coming up the following week. I also ordered a cheesecake and we shared each other's desserts. Needless to say we had plenty to take home and we thoroughly enjoyed it the following day as well and at a hotter temperature that was perfect with soft serve ice cream.
