So the Island Cheesecake (vanilla) was the perfect little treat. Not too sweet, a hint of lemon, that slightly jiggly Japanese cheesecake texture...it's divine. But the actual star of the show was the coffee tiramisu cream puff. Oh my goodness. The cream puff was light and airy, the filling inside was not-too-sweet custardy goodness, the contrast with the bitter espresso powder, and then the coffee jelly inside...we couldn't stop raving about how perfect of a dessert it was. We will be back for sure! They also had sandwiches, panna cotta, butter mochi in different flavors, and chestnut cake.

It was 1:30 PM, how are they already sold out? Even if it was full, 4 options - 1 type of bread, mini muffins, 1 type of cookie and 1 type of brownie is hardly a "bakery." The staff of the coffee shop, Pono Potions, went to "check the freezer" and said there was only the same cookies and muffins back there. Hubby and I were out and about in the Mccully area today and finally had a chance to check out the test kitchen in Mccully shopping center. Our first stop was this gem of a bakery. We got there before 12pm, which is there open time, and saw Bronson busy decorating a cake. He greeted us was a lot of Aloha. We chatted for a bit and he told me that they were out of a few things but there were still lots of yummy things to try. Since we hadn't eaten yet I didn't want to go too crazy with the treats. We got a strawberry cupcake and on original cheescake. Let me just say WOW! When I tell you that cupcake was soft that is just the beginning. It basically melted in my mouth. The cream was delicious and tasted just like fresh strawberry. Bronson did make it a point to let me know that this particular cupcake was dairy free along with several other flavored cupcakes they offered. It was topped with fresh strawberry and had a small amount of strawberry jam inside. It was amazing! The chesscake was Japanese style. It was light and fluffy an oh so good. This super cute and vibrant bakery has two display cases filled with assorted pastries and beautifully decorated cakes that would be the center of attention for any occasion, sometimes in shapes of kawaii animals. On this visit I was craving something sweet and bought a few...one for now another for breakfast and the gentleman there was just a delight waiting patiently for me to make my choices...cream horn, hot dog, and apple pie. Each item is individually wrapped making it easy to bring home, the next thing I'd like to try are there adorable cakes...as we should enjoy the sweet life. Thank you!
