Consistency is key!!! It's been a minute since we dined at Ocean Prime, but our dinner on Saturday night was as perfect as it ever has been. From the valet, to the host, to our server Dylan and his support staff Eric... everyone was friendly, efficient and catered to our every need before even asking. The interior is still very chic with great lighting but also comfortable. It's lively but you can still enjoy dinner conversation with your guests. Bread and cocktails come out quickly and the food service can be as fast or as leisurely as you'd like. Food highlights include their steak and seafood. The Chilean Sea Bass is the best I've ever had... huge portion, cooked perfectly. We are also big fans of their sides with our favorite being the jalapeño au gratin. Do not skip! Be sure to save room for the dessert as theirs are epic. The warm butter cake is their signature and tasty. If you like carrot cake their 10 layer version is a spectacle and fantastically delicious. My favorite is for sure the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie... it remains my favorite dessert ever. I think there is a little room for improvement with their specialty cocktails... what they do have is good, but there could be some more options with some variation. Regardless Ocean Prime is still a five star experience and one I'll keep returning to whenever I'm looking for a special meal with excellent service. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more

We decided to come here while visiting Florida and we're so glad we did. The food really hit the spot. We ordered the surf and turf, salmon salad, truffle mac n cheese and Brussel sprouts. If I'd order again I'd omit the Brussels and swap the truffle mac for lobster mac. Surf and turf was a phenomenal deal for the value. Robin, our server, was excellent. The hospitality he provided was next level, truly I was impressed. He even went as far as overhearing me mention I wish I had Tupperware to take the truffle popcorn to-go and he came out with popcorn in to-go boxes - 100/10. Ambiance was clean and comfortable. Food is 100/10 I love the crab cakes they're huge! The dynamite roll is so tasty with a kick. Service was great. The knives for the filet weren't sharp enough. We asked for two, and they still weren't slicing how we needed. They didn't have popcorn out tonight but gave us pretzel bread and it was warm and soft. The drinks were also good. I ordered the reposado paper plane. And our waitress suggested a patron margarita so we ordered that as well and that was perfection. Anniversary dinner amazing at Ocean Prime with the help of Rasheed! Rasheed took such good care of us. All of his suggestions were so delicious; blackened scallops, snapper, warm butter cake, & carajillo (espresso cocktail not on the menu). He was very attentive & kind. Nice guy! We saved this restaurant for our final Magical Dining experience of the year. Given that it is one of the more expensive restaurants, I had slightly higher expectations for the taste, but overall, it was a pleasant experience. The starters were inconsistent in quality. The lobster bisque was clearly superior to the Ocean Prime house salad, which was rather uninspiring. The teriyaki salmon was exceptional, and I believe I could eat it daily without tiring of it. Oysters on the Half Shell was amazing. We got East Coast ones and some were huge but also some were small. Size must be hit or miss. For main, I had Chilean Sea Bass, it never disappoints. I ordered French onion soup as my appetizer, grouper for dinner and was given butter cake as a complimentary dessert for my birthday. For dinner I got the blackened Snapper and added two blackened scallops. All was cooked perfect with a good amount of spice. We visited Ocean Prime Orlando to celebrate our anniversary, expecting a memorable evening. Unfortunately, while some parts of the experience were good, the overall impression left us disappointed. The food was solid, about a 7.5/10, and the cocktails were decent at 7/10. Service was excellent--our server was attentive, professional, and deserving of a 9/10. However, the ambience and seating experience fell far short of expectations, especially for a special occasion. We were placed in the Rialto Room, which felt disconnected from the main dining areas. Unlike the restaurant's beautiful main dining room and bar, this space lacked warmth and atmosphere. It was uncomfortably cold, both in temperature and design, and resembled overflow seating more than part of a fine dining restaurant. Tables were crammed into walkways, children were screaming nearby, and we were seated in the corner next to what looked like a cashier stand. For an anniversary dinner with a $425 bill, this was incredibly underwhelming. Upon arrival we realized the restaurant was promoting a special "magical dining" menu, which seemed to draw in more diners. That's understandable, but it should never come at the cost of guest experience--especially for those marking special occasions. I've enjoyed Ocean Prime in other cities, but this was my first and likely last visit to the Orlando location. Ambience matters as much as food and service, and unfortunately, this experience didn't deliver the level of hospitality I expect from a brand like Ocean Prime. For appetizers, my husband got oysters (west coast) he said they were amazing and he would definitely order again as they were not too briny. I ordered the ocean roll and it was excellent. For our entrees, I ordered the seabass and my husband ordered the steak with lobster mac and cheese and roasted brussel sprouts and I must say...OOOOHWEEEEE the seabass was melt in your mouth delicious it came with some broccolini and a potato puree-very scrumptious. The lobster mac and Brussels were on point! My husband said his steak was very good! 10/10 this place!!! Like not sure what took us so long to finally try it but we are definitely coming back! Lastly we had the butter cake for dessert to share-MY, MY, MY this was the perfect treat to wrap up our dinner date! Walking into the lobby, we were greeted by a dress code sign that basically screamed, "No board shorts, no problem!" I dig it--being near all those tourist traps, they're clearly guarding the gates of fine dining like it's a secret society. It sets the stage for that "we're fancy and we know it" vibe, which, let's be honest, is half the fun. Our guests were already at the table, which was so perfectly placed I wondered if they hired a feng shui consultant. Our waiter--let's call him Captain Charisma--glided in like he was born to serve seafood towers. Speaking of, we ordered one, and it arrived looking like Neptune's Pinterest board. The ladies went for cocktails with names fancier than my last vacation, while the guys sipped red wine and champagne from a wine cellar that probably has its own fan club. Here's where it gets good: Captain C didn't even let us peek at the menu. He just recommended our entire meal like some culinary psychic. I went with the Halibut special, paired with a glass of wine he picked. Nailed it. The fish was so good, I almost forgot how to blink. The whole night, the service was so polished it felt like we were dining in a movie about rich people--charming, but just a smidge fake, like they rehearsed their smiles in a mirror. Price? It's been several years since my last visit to OP, but I've always regarded it as probably one of the best in Orlando. So many great restaurants have closed recently post pandemic along Sand Lake, I decided to check back in here and see what's up. I'm happy to say it's every bit as elevated and upscale as I remembered and showed non signs of cutting corners with customer experience. I really like the atmosphere here. The dining room is packed, but the acoustics are such that you can still have an intimate dining experience and have a normal tone conversation. There's live music in the bar area (which was excellent) but the volume doesn't overpower the dining experience. Most restaurants fail to engineer these things in a way that both can coexist successfully. OP has mastered it. Others should take note. We started with cocktails--Titos martinis extra dry, up, twist, shaken and served table side. Perfect. Truffle deviled eggs were outstanding and they give you six! I was expecting three, but was delighted at how shareable this app was for two people. The goat cheese stuffed ravioli was also excellent and can be shared. They use a wonton wrapper which keeps it on the lighter side and accompanied with a light vinaigrette to brighten the flavors. Most restaurants at this price point keep apps so tiny, you're forced to get two, but these are absolutely big enough to share. Really appreciate that. The signature grouper was a huge portion of perfectly cooked fish. The only minor complaint here was the choice to garnish with a very heavy and acidic tomato paste purée on top. It didn't compliment the dish at all. My filet was just amazing, perfectly cooked med rare, and reasonably priced for prime beef. We got a side of smoked gouda tater tots (shareable). These were obviously made from scratch and tasted so amazing and rich. You only need a few! I had concerns due to recent reviews indicating the need to rush service and turn tables quickly. I am very sensitive to this, and can confirm I didn't experience any such practice. In fact our dinner was well paced at exactly 2 hours. Special shout out to our server Kenny, who is relatively new to this elevated level of service, but he's a great fit for it and truly made our experience special. I absolutely loved our experience here. Staff are super attentive, and the ambience inside. Yes is a little on the dark side and those of you may need a flashlight to read, but really is exclusive. I really loved the lobster bisque and my filet that was cooked to my liking.
