This is a fantastic steakhouse in Orlando! I love that everything is cooked over wood and no charcoal or gas! The Smokey flavor comes out in the meats! Portions are generous and service is outstanding! Great atmosphere and not too noisy!

I must say I was pleasantly surprised and it was beyond my expectations. We chose this restaurant from the Yelp thought it was close to the hotel that we were staying at and we're really glad we did. It wasn't a busy night. It was a Sunday. We had a nice table. Old world steakhouse think of the ambience also it was a birthday at the table DANIELLEC an excellent waitress she was professional knowledgeable and she took great care of us. We had three glasses of wine. We had a king on the bone steak a fillet a cauliflower which I must say was OMG because of the birthday they gave complementary meatballs and then desserts. It's like an old world steakhouse with some of the old world service that we haven't gotten in a long time definitely if you're in Orlando and near the Universal Studios make it a way to go there because I think you'll really enjoy it. They have valet parking, but there was parking plenty of restaurants around the area. I'm not sure where the area really is but it was about a five minute drive from our hotel.

Charley's is hands down our favorite steakhouse, and last night proved exactly why. We celebrated our son's 15th birthday and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The manager even came out with an amuse bouche to kick things off, which was such a thoughtful touch, and the steak presentation never gets old -- it's always such a great experience. Our server, Austin, was phenomenal. We never had to ask for a single thing. He was attentive without being intrusive and truly elevated the whole evening. We started with the lobster bisque (incredible), calamari, and shrimp cocktail -- all delicious. My husband and I shared a porterhouse with au gratin potatoes, asparagus, and a one-pound Australian rock lobster that was out of this world. Our son had the ribeye filet with a fully loaded baked potato and loved every bite. We've had amazing steaks in New York and San Francisco, but we always come back to Charley's. The quality, service, and overall experience are unmatched. It's consistently outstanding and always worth it. Can't wait to return!

Came here for dinner by myself while on a work trip and had such a nice experience here! My server was awesome and the ambiance was very nice. The food was good, I got the filet mignon and enjoyed the salad and bread it came with. Maybe I am hard to impress when it comes to steak but I did not think it was out of this world. Definitely very good but I was expecting something more after what I had heard from others. Overall I think this is an excellent restaurant with great service!

Update review 1 week later! 4.250-4.50! It's a phenomenal time in Orlando, where the weather is sunny and warm but not extremely humid. Add into the mix that this particular Thursday was the first day of the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, and now you have a reason to celebrate. We embraced a full day at the API tournament, with an add-on experience at Charley's. knowing the restaurant is a short Uber ride away, I secured a reservation quickly and soon afterwards we were whisked away. Every now and then, I like to add in reservation notes to see if the hostess staff picks up on it and tries to make whatever small accommodation happen. On this update review, I had my Brother with me and thought sitting by the beautiful elevated fish tank would be a nice touch (when you know, you know). The waitstaff acknowledged my request and confirmed if I still wanted it. Great first encounter with a restaurant that confirms your reservation and any seating request. Immediately after, we were guided to our booth, seated directly in front of the fish tank (thank you). Soon after, we were greeted by our server, Chris, who quickly took our drink orders (Waters: one still, one sparkling, a side of limes. Drinks: 2 Expresso Martinis). Now, whenever I go to a restaurant, especially a higher-cost one, I generally like to compare common dishes or drinks from another similarly priced restaurant to see attention to detail and catch any different styles employed. One such comparison was here, we ordered 2 espresso martinis and didn't specify, nor did we ask how we liked them. What showed up was delicious, but it was a milky dessertini. All good, we got another one. Moving into appetizers, we went with another common dish: tableside steak tartare served with sliced baguette. The bread was not good and tasted kind of stale. It would be great to see it grilled on that fantastic grill they have in the front. The tartare itself was done well, and I would say just above average. The next appetizer we got was the citrus-marinated gator tail meat. Overall, it was ok, but as expected, nothing to write home about. A one-and-done dish. Mains: I tried the 21-Day bone-in ribeye at medium rare. The steak came out very well and was at a good temperature. You can really taste dry-aged meat at this level. Pro-tip, try the steak sauces. Currently, my favorites are the truffle and the cognac ones. My brother had the filet mignon, and it was done well. Overall, Charleys did a great job on this impromptu visit after a day in the Florida sun and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. .

We're back baby & we are craving some awesomeness from our Favorite Steak House. Ivan was our knight in shining armor. My wife loves the white sauce with capers that is on the grilled chicken. We were here a few weeks back and had a ribeye so I went with the pork chops & they didn't let me down. They are always cooked perfectly each and every-time we order them. I could go on and on but Charlie's has always been great & the atmosphere is welcoming. AAA+++ Baby

Good service and even better food. I ordered a dessert that I still crave all of the time. It is a bit pricey, but definitely a must check out at least once!

It was my first time dining at this restaurant. I can't believe I had not tried Charley's sooner. I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back! I wanted to take my mom to a restaurant for her birthday that we've never tried before so I decided on Charley's. If I could describe Charley's Steakhouse in one word, it would be THANKSGIVING!! The food is so flavorful, delicious, hearty and flavorful. Upon arrival I noticed there were quite a few parking spaces reserved for complementary valet parking. I'm not a fan of valet parking even if complimentary so I had a difficult time finding parking because there were not that many non valet parking spots available. Once I entered the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by staff and managers welcoming me and thanking me for choosing to dine at Charley's. I had called ahead to make a reservation and to notify the restaurant that we would be coming to dine for my mom's birthday. So, when we got to our table, we found a birthday card and flower accents. It was a nice little touch. We were immediately greeted by our waiter and several wait staff. We were given a steak and lobster presentation. We aren't big steak people so we came for seafood and chicken. We started with a special chef created meatball appetizer. The sauce was amazing! Next was the fried grouper bites, which were absolutely delicious. I could have eaten the entire plate. The accompanying tartar sauce was fabulous. This appetizer was flavorful and delicious. It was also a good portion of food. Next was the complimentary salad and bread. The salad was a nice portion a little too wet and cold. I believe the salad must have been previously prepared with the dressing already on the salad which made the salad a little soggy. Next the made entree and side dishes. We ordered the chicken and salmon for the entrees. We chose the mashed potatoes, lobster macaroni and cheese, and broccoli for our sides. The chicken was huge! It tasted good, a little tough, but good. The salmon was my favorite out of the entrees. The salmon was a generous portion, it was flavorful. The topping really took the salmon to another level. I paired it with the tartar sauce, excellent! The sides were huge. I was expecting small portions but to my surprise, the portions were anything but small. I immediately felt like a Thanksgiving feast had been placed right in front of me. The broccoli was a generous portion and tasted good. I'm not a big broccoli fan but wanted some sort of vegetable to accompany the meal. I would love to see a cream spinach on the menu. I know that would probably be amazing. The mashed potatoes were so flavorful, rich, delicious, and amazing. The lobster macaroni and cheese was so heavenly. The flavor was out of this world and probably my favorite side. Although I didn't see much lobster at all, the flavor was spectacular. If you are looking for generous portion and flavorful food. You have got to try Charley's Steakhouse. I will definitely be back without hesitation. I will be adding this restaurant to my rotation.

A solid place to celebrate any occasion! Charley's is a local steakhouse that has a lot of old school charm and elegance. We came here for my mom's birthday and had a fantastic time. Steaks were prepared perfectly and the sides were decadent and tasty. Very classic presentations, and every dish was delicious. Prices were very reasonable given the more upscale experience and the quality of the food. Service was also friendly and attentive.

Had a great experience here at Charley's! We were able to make reservations and were immediately seated when we arrived. It didn't look too crowded. There was a guy cooking steaks in front of the restaurant and he was so friendly! The customer service is always impeccable. My brother celebrated his birthday here. They gave us complimentary ice cream. The steaks were delicious! I enjoyed the espresso martini. So smooth and delicious. The food was great if you want to splurge here. I definitely recommend!

Ribeye

Food was amazing with generous portions. The house salad that comes with it is like my second favorite salad in Orlando. Not much dressing just subtle. Ordered the ribeye and broccoli with some cab. After I ordered I was asked for a credit card even before I got the food. I was a bit offended by this like I was not able to afford the food. I've ate at the bar before and ordered food and did not get asked to put a card on file. I believe the bartender name was Jeff. So I guess the steak took a little longer than a reasonable time so the manager came out and did not charge me for the glass of wine which was great because I didn't say anything I was just enjoying the apps but she was real nice and gave me her card but I misplaced it. Other than that little event I had a terrific time. I would have gave it a 4 stars otherwise

This was a phenomenal dining experience. We were in Orlando for the week and were gifted a free dinner. The restaurant is superbly decorated, the bar was massive and fully stocked. The service was what would be expected at such an establishment. Whenever we're in Orlando and want upscale dining, we'd definitely return to Charley's! Highly recommended!

Rick M.

Impeccable service every time! We come to Charley's every time we are on Orlando, and we are never disappointed. Amazing steaks, sides and adult libations.

Charley's Steak House Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Charley's Steak House

Is there a kids menu?

The online downloadable menu states at the bottom "Children's & Gluten Free Menu Available"

Do they still have the free birthday dinner?

Not that I have heard of and considering this is a 50 dollar and up per plate I highly doubt it. Worth every penny and not a place for hand outs.

Are the dinning rooms packed so you have a hard time hearing your party?

Yes. In fact, they pack the rooms with tables so full you can touch a person at a table next to you and the servers barely have room to walk through. It's not as bad if you're in a booth in anther area but it's still pretty noisy.

When I arrived with some of my dinner guests, we still had a wait before we were escorted to a private room. We encountered an issue with one of the servers and I had to request to speak with a manager. Rachel came over and we spoke about the unfortunate situation we were having. Rachel apologized and worked to get us someone else to take care of us. After that, we settled in and enjoyed the rest of our dinner. I ordered the Beef Empanadas, the Tequila Sunburn Glazed Salmon (comes with Mashed Sweet Potato and Green Beans) and a Dragon Fruit Margarita. The Dragon Fruit Margarita was delicious. I didn't want to get full before receiving my food so I took sips while we waited. It was hard not drinking it all too quickly. It was good. It was served in a glass with a sugar coated rim and lime wedge. The Beef Empanadas are an all-time favorite and never disappoints. I couldn't eat all my food so I packaged the rest to go. I was presented with a glass of ice cream topped with whipped cream and cherries. A candle perfectly placed in the ice cream was lit and waiting for me to make a birthday wish and blow out the flame. The night was not over yet. After dinner, we went outside and sat to listen to the live steel pan music. It was a wonderful way to end the evening. As the cool air embraced us so did the melodic tunes of the steel pan music. Thank you Rachel for salvaging the evening and remedying our unfortunate experience with one of the service staff. Your response and actions saved the evening and help earned this four star rating.

There is even a large fishbowl at one of the host stands with a Cowfish swimming about a giant hamburger. The menu offers so many choices, I found it hard to decide. Ultimately, I landed on the All American Bacon Double Cheeseburgooshi - a combination of a bacon double cheeseburger in sushi form. Hubby got a Bento Box that included a slider, sushi roll, edamame and more. I was a little worried that I wouldn't like my dish. It seemed a bit out there but once it arrived, I was beyond pleasantly surprised and loved every bite! Hubby also loved his bento box and we left quite full. They also offer a myriad of unique and fun drinks including one in a fish shaped glass with boba pearls and a Bloody Mary with, basically, a whole meal on top! This was a 10/10 for us - next time we are in Orlando, we will make time to return. Note that reservations are a must!

Instead of choosing between sushi or burgers, you get both. And somehow it actually works. The "Burgushi" idea sounds like it shouldn't... but it does. The bento box is probably the move if you can't decide. It gives you a little bit of everything and is perfect after a long park day when you're starving but also indecisive. We did this through the Ride and Dine package, which made it super convenient. Having a reserved meal time built into a Universal day just hits differently. It's a nice break from the chaos of the parks, and CityWalk has such a fun energy at night. The value feels worth it when you factor in the portion sizes and the overall experience. Food wise, the burgers are solid, juicy, and definitely not an afterthought, and the sushi is surprisingly fresh for a theme park spot. The menu is huge and creative, with everything from classic rolls to over the top fusion options, plus shakes and drinks if you're feeling it. The vibe is very "Universal." Colorful, slightly over the top, and a little loud, but it works. Think quirky décor, bright lights, and a mix of tourists, families, and people decompressing after a park day. Overall, not necessarily a fine dining sushi spot, but that's not what you come here for. You come for the experience, the variety, and the fact that you can eat a burger and sushi in the same bite if you really want to. Perfect for a fun Universal night! Was great for our needs to eat some dinner before hitting the park to throw beads!

Found this place by chance after driving away from another restaurant that we scoped out that looked pretty empty - there were a lot of cars in the parking lot here so we pulled in, having no idea what this place was all about. First of all - if you are a vegetarian or a vegan, or even an ovo-lacto, you have to pay the full price of a meat-eater, because people will cheat and proclaim that they are vegans and probably stuff their face full of beef, so I had to pay the same price as my husband, a carnivore. You are seated a table with a grill and a personal hot-pot, dependent on whatever broth you choose. The attendant will turn on all of the hot pots and grill, so you don't need to mess with that; he/she will put a piece of foil on your grill and drop a piece of butter on it so you can cook and fry your meats or veggies but one of the annoying things I've found was the feeling we got that they didn't want us eating more - they would come by infrequently and we would have to flag them down to replace our grilling foil, and they did so begrudgingly, with little interaction. The selections were very, very generous: organ meats including guts, tongue, tripe, beef aorta, intestines and exotic things like duck feet, frog legs; different cuts of meat, loads of veggies and fungi and tofu for someone like myself, and dessert like ice cream in individual containers and Oreo cookies, which I found a bit odd.
