The steak alone was a 10/10. The quality and flavor of the meat were definitely the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the sides didn't live up to expectations. The mashed potatoes were clumpy and dry, but the bread was amazing. We took some home because it was addicting. The lobster mac and cheese was also disappointing. It looked better than it tasted with a bland flavor and watery consistency, so we ended up returning it. I'm not sure if we got a bad batch, but I personally prefer Ruth's Chris mac and cheese. The calamari, which our server recommended, was also overcooked and overly crispy to the point where you could barely taste the actual calamari. The service was a 10/10. The staff made sure everything went smoothly and made our anniversary dinner special. The dark, classic old-school steakhouse ambiance with tablecloth covered tables was a nice touch. Overall, while the steak was excellent, I'm not sure I would return. There are other steakhouses with similar quality meats that offer better sides and a more complete dining experience.

I love how the decor is classic with wood accent. the service was amazing! We love how attentive Wayne was. We truly enjoyed all the dishes. The half shelf oysters were big and briney, the alligator bites were small and nicely fried, the baked clams had flavorful ingredients, the escargots were soft (the oils were great for dipping bread sticks) , salad was drenched in dressing but still fresh and crunchy, and the cauliflower was huge!. I think the only disappointment was the ribeye. It was full of tendon and hard when it's supposed to be tender. The quality of the ribeye tasted low tier. We were glad the manager didn't give us a hard time when we told her we didn't like it. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here!

Hands down, the best Sirloin I've ever had. I got the $80 prime boneless sirloin and ordered it rare plus...came out perfect! Juicy, tender, and the flavor of the wood grill tastes this steak to the next level. This steak does not need any type of sauce or condiment added, just enjoy every bite. The portions are fairly large and come with a house salad and bread. The salad was chopped with tomato, green olives, Parmesan cheese, and a Spanish vinaigrette. The service was a 5 out of 5. This restaurant is a true classic gem. They do sell cigars as well and offer seating on the patio to smoke. Although, I didn't have room for dessert, it looked like it was a piece of art and enough to share.

Charley's is hands down our favorite steakhouse, and last night proved exactly why. We celebrated our son's 15th birthday and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The manager even came out with an amuse bouche to kick things off, which was such a thoughtful touch, and the steak presentation never gets old -- it's always such a great experience. Our server, Austin, was phenomenal. We never had to ask for a single thing. He was attentive without being intrusive and truly elevated the whole evening. We started with the lobster bisque (incredible), calamari, and shrimp cocktail -- all delicious. My husband and I shared a porterhouse with au gratin potatoes, asparagus, and a one-pound Australian rock lobster that was out of this world. Our son had the ribeye filet with a fully loaded baked potato and loved every bite. We've had amazing steaks in New York and San Francisco, but we always come back to Charley's. The quality, service, and overall experience are unmatched. It's consistently outstanding and always worth it. Can't wait to return!

This is a fantastic steakhouse in Orlando! I love that everything is cooked over wood and no charcoal or gas! The Smokey flavor comes out in the meats! Portions are generous and service is outstanding! Great atmosphere and not too noisy!

I must say I was pleasantly surprised and it was beyond my expectations. We chose this restaurant from the Yelp thought it was close to the hotel that we were staying at and we're really glad we did. It wasn't a busy night. It was a Sunday. We had a nice table. Old world steakhouse think of the ambience also it was a birthday at the table DANIELLEC an excellent waitress she was professional knowledgeable and she took great care of us. We had three glasses of wine. We had a king on the bone steak a fillet a cauliflower which I must say was OMG because of the birthday they gave complementary meatballs and then desserts. It's like an old world steakhouse with some of the old world service that we haven't gotten in a long time definitely if you're in Orlando and near the Universal Studios make it a way to go there because I think you'll really enjoy it. They have valet parking, but there was parking plenty of restaurants around the area. I'm not sure where the area really is but it was about a five minute drive from our hotel.

Came here for dinner by myself while on a work trip and had such a nice experience here! My server was awesome and the ambiance was very nice. The food was good, I got the filet mignon and enjoyed the salad and bread it came with. Maybe I am hard to impress when it comes to steak but I did not think it was out of this world. Definitely very good but I was expecting something more after what I had heard from others. Overall I think this is an excellent restaurant with great service!

It was my first time dining at this restaurant. I can't believe I had not tried Charley's sooner. I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back! I wanted to take my mom to a restaurant for her birthday that we've never tried before so I decided on Charley's. If I could describe Charley's Steakhouse in one word, it would be THANKSGIVING!! The food is so flavorful, delicious, hearty and flavorful. Upon arrival I noticed there were quite a few parking spaces reserved for complementary valet parking. I'm not a fan of valet parking even if complimentary so I had a difficult time finding parking because there were not that many non valet parking spots available. Once I entered the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by staff and managers welcoming me and thanking me for choosing to dine at Charley's. I had called ahead to make a reservation and to notify the restaurant that we would be coming to dine for my mom's birthday. So, when we got to our table, we found a birthday card and flower accents. It was a nice little touch. We were immediately greeted by our waiter and several wait staff. We were given a steak and lobster presentation. We aren't big steak people so we came for seafood and chicken. We started with a special chef created meatball appetizer. The sauce was amazing! Next was the fried grouper bites, which were absolutely delicious. I could have eaten the entire plate. The accompanying tartar sauce was fabulous. This appetizer was flavorful and delicious. It was also a good portion of food. Next was the complimentary salad and bread. The salad was a nice portion a little too wet and cold. I believe the salad must have been previously prepared with the dressing already on the salad which made the salad a little soggy. Next the made entree and side dishes. We ordered the chicken and salmon for the entrees. We chose the mashed potatoes, lobster macaroni and cheese, and broccoli for our sides. The chicken was huge! It tasted good, a little tough, but good. The salmon was my favorite out of the entrees. The salmon was a generous portion, it was flavorful. The topping really took the salmon to another level. I paired it with the tartar sauce, excellent! The sides were huge. I was expecting small portions but to my surprise, the portions were anything but small. I immediately felt like a Thanksgiving feast had been placed right in front of me. The broccoli was a generous portion and tasted good. I'm not a big broccoli fan but wanted some sort of vegetable to accompany the meal. I would love to see a cream spinach on the menu. I know that would probably be amazing. The mashed potatoes were so flavorful, rich, delicious, and amazing. The lobster macaroni and cheese was so heavenly. The flavor was out of this world and probably my favorite side. Although I didn't see much lobster at all, the flavor was spectacular. If you are looking for generous portion and flavorful food. You have got to try Charley's Steakhouse. I will definitely be back without hesitation. I will be adding this restaurant to my rotation.

Update review 1 week later! 4.250-4.50! It's a phenomenal time in Orlando, where the weather is sunny and warm but not extremely humid. Add into the mix that this particular Thursday was the first day of the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, and now you have a reason to celebrate. We embraced a full day at the API tournament, with an add-on experience at Charley's. knowing the restaurant is a short Uber ride away, I secured a reservation quickly and soon afterwards we were whisked away. Every now and then, I like to add in reservation notes to see if the hostess staff picks up on it and tries to make whatever small accommodation happen. On this update review, I had my Brother with me and thought sitting by the beautiful elevated fish tank would be a nice touch (when you know, you know). The waitstaff acknowledged my request and confirmed if I still wanted it. Great first encounter with a restaurant that confirms your reservation and any seating request. Immediately after, we were guided to our booth, seated directly in front of the fish tank (thank you). Soon after, we were greeted by our server, Chris, who quickly took our drink orders (Waters: one still, one sparkling, a side of limes. Drinks: 2 Expresso Martinis). Now, whenever I go to a restaurant, especially a higher-cost one, I generally like to compare common dishes or drinks from another similarly priced restaurant to see attention to detail and catch any different styles employed. One such comparison was here, we ordered 2 espresso martinis and didn't specify, nor did we ask how we liked them. What showed up was delicious, but it was a milky dessertini. All good, we got another one. Moving into appetizers, we went with another common dish: tableside steak tartare served with sliced baguette. The bread was not good and tasted kind of stale. It would be great to see it grilled on that fantastic grill they have in the front. The tartare itself was done well, and I would say just above average. The next appetizer we got was the citrus-marinated gator tail meat. Overall, it was ok, but as expected, nothing to write home about. A one-and-done dish. Mains: I tried the 21-Day bone-in ribeye at medium rare. The steak came out very well and was at a good temperature. You can really taste dry-aged meat at this level. Pro-tip, try the steak sauces. Currently, my favorites are the truffle and the cognac ones. My brother had the filet mignon, and it was done well. Overall, Charleys did a great job on this impromptu visit after a day in the Florida sun and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. .

We're back baby & we are craving some awesomeness from our Favorite Steak House. Ivan was our knight in shining armor. My wife loves the white sauce with capers that is on the grilled chicken. We were here a few weeks back and had a ribeye so I went with the pork chops & they didn't let me down. They are always cooked perfectly each and every-time we order them. I could go on and on but Charlie's has always been great & the atmosphere is welcoming. AAA+++ Baby

A solid place to celebrate any occasion! Charley's is a local steakhouse that has a lot of old school charm and elegance. We came here for my mom's birthday and had a fantastic time. Steaks were prepared perfectly and the sides were decadent and tasty. Very classic presentations, and every dish was delicious. Prices were very reasonable given the more upscale experience and the quality of the food. Service was also friendly and attentive.

Good service and even better food. I ordered a dessert that I still crave all of the time. It is a bit pricey, but definitely a must check out at least once!

Had a great experience here at Charley's! We were able to make reservations and were immediately seated when we arrived. It didn't look too crowded. There was a guy cooking steaks in front of the restaurant and he was so friendly! The customer service is always impeccable. My brother celebrated his birthday here. They gave us complimentary ice cream. The steaks were delicious! I enjoyed the espresso martini. So smooth and delicious. The food was great if you want to splurge here. I definitely recommend!

    Is there a kids menu?

The online downloadable menu states at the bottom "Children's & Gluten Free Menu Available"

Do they still have the free birthday dinner?

Not that I have heard of and considering this is a 50 dollar and up per plate I highly doubt it. Worth every penny and not a place for hand outs.

Are the dinning rooms packed so you have a hard time hearing your party?

Yes. In fact, they pack the rooms with tables so full you can touch a person at a table next to you and the servers barely have room to walk through. It's not as bad if you're in a booth in anther area but it's still pretty noisy.

The restaurant was full of guests dressed to impress and speaking in hushed tones. All the steaks and chops around the room looked amazing with great aroma. The lighting is dim, but the large windows let in a lot of light to read menus. I recommend a table for two by the big windows overlooking the pool (and 9pm fireworks) or a comfy booth along the wall with the same view. We appreciated the perfect timing and temperature of our dishes. Our amuse bûche was a yummy ceviche packed with seafood. I would definitely order it if on the menu. The crudo appetizer was a standout dish - so fresh and flavorful, and beautifully presented. My smooth, delicious, piping hot sherry-infused lobster bisque was poured over a sizable slice of lobster, at the table. My dining partner was impressed with the delicious taste and temp of their Iberico Chop. I adored my perfectly seared and moist sea bass with fluffy gnocchi in a decadent, rich and creamy mushroom sauce (I substituted sea bass for escargot). The large, indulgent lobster mac side dish was an excellent compliment to both mains. It was flavorful with plenty of lobster; and the delicious crust on top would make amazing cheese crisps. Servers walked around with a variety of fresh, warm, yummy breads -- though 14 Prime breads in Jax taste better. The arrival of the crème brûlée flambée was reminiscent of a bananas foster presentation in NOLA. Unfortunately, the flames were the most interesting aspect of the crème brûlée. Flavor was not particularly special, and chocolate at the bottom tasted like pudding. Dessert was just 'ok' at Bull & Bear & Oscar's. Another small nitpick was the lack of black napkins for black outfits. Service was professional, yet approachable. Servers gave great recommendations without unnecessary upselling. They worked in teams, so there was always someone available to assist. Open 6-10pm daily, our reservation secured the table all night -- no rushing to turn tables over for the next guest. Some dishes include table side preparation, so prices reflect showmanship (e.g., lobster bisque poured at the table; table side César salad preparation; meat board & Dover sole table side deboning and plating; crème brûlée served in flames; strawberry ice cream created table side). We look forward to returning again and again.

It's clear the staff takes their work very seriously - hearing about the specials almost felt like a sales pitch - and the atmosphere is meant to be upscale and well executed. I recognize that as a vegetarian, I am nowhere near the target market for this menu. That being said, I found my entree and the bar's available ingredients lackluster, but the sides and dessert were delicious. The bread, glossed with butter and very fluffy, was divine. The waiter took my drink order, I asked for some options for a cocktail that were off menu that he'd have to check on, then the rest of my table got their drinks 15 minutes later, and I was told what I ordered wasn't possible. Not sure why drinks took so long or why I wasn't notified sooner, as this made our pacing a little odd. I ordered a blood orange heavy cocktail off the surprisingly short menu, and it was just ok - not a mix of flavors I'd normally go for, and very punchy. The greenery sprig was a visually appealing touch though, although it was a bit heavy handed on my neighbor's drink. My salad was yummy, with an interesting addition of potato chip like curls. The red wine that was ordered for the table was one of the best red wines I've ever had, very enjoyable, and I never normally like reds. The wine selection seems vast here - the menu is a true binder - and some options go over $2k for a bottle, so even the most extravagant tastes will find something they like here. My waiter gave me the tiniest bit of attitude upon finding out I was a vegetarian. Listen, sir, I didn't pick the restaurant, I know I don't belong here - yeesh. He did inform me that a cauliflower steak option was available, which I took him up on, but it was not listed on the menu anywhere. They should really add it to be more inclusive of all types of diets - it's 2026, you need to offer an entree that isn't meat, even if you're a steak and seafood restaurant. I'm never really that impressed with a cauliflower steak from anywhere, but this was one of the most bland I've ever had. It wasn't filling and the sauce had barely any salt or flavor to it - very lackluster. The desserts were amazing - I forget what we ordered other than the Creme Brulee topped with macarons and Butter Cake (OMG! WOW!), but everything I tried was yummy. It was a pretty busy spring Thursday night when I visited, but everything seemed to take quite a while to come out. A friend was dining separately at another table, and when we bumped into each other in the bathroom while waiting for apps, we both remarked on how long it was taking for food and drinks to come out. The atmosphere was also a bit chaotic - we had to wait in a cramped, awkward entry hallway for 10 minutes past our reservation time, which was a weird way to start the dining experience- they need a better waiting area. It was also very loud in here, which is not what I'd expect for such an upscale place - I could barely hear people across the table from me. It cheapened the overall feel. The price points are certainly impressive if you're wanting to come here to impress a date or business partner. Some bits were excellent, but the entree fell short for me. If you're getting what they specialize in, you'll probably have a better experience, but you'll also be waiting quite a while. I feel like the only person I know that isn't raving about this place, and although it puts on quite the show, there's some room for improvement. I WILL be dreaming about that bread and the salad's potato curls, though....
