Being foodie is a though job to find a good place to try and that will be good on high volume days such as Mothers day. My partner surprised me with dinner with the family at Ilume. This place is beautifully decorated and located to enjoy beautiful views of the Disney Areas. Valentina was our server, she was prompt and attentive. Very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to clear any doubts and document allergies accordingly. The food was amazingly delicious from beginning to end. Everything we tried was exceded our expectations. My kids being little sushi connoisseurs went to the bathroom and somehow ended up speaking to the chef about their beautifully curated VEGTARIAN sampler came back with a complimentary plate of each. Even that was amazing. Will definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu.
Made a reservation here for a bachelorette and it was the perfect vibe for a girls night out. I requested to be seated where we could see the fireworks and had the reservation set for 7:30 to catch the 9pm fireworks. It worked out perfectly because there happened to be 3 different fireworks shows for Memorial Day weekend! The food and drinks were also pretty yummy just a tad overpriced. Can't go wrong with the sushi! Service was really nice here as well. A beautiful restaurant in a beautiful hotel!
One of the best omakase experience. Great view and you can see Disney fireworks on the rooftop. The five course omakase for $85 was well worth it. You also get parking waived when you dine here. High recommend. Friendly waiter and staff. The wait can be long but take your time and enjoy the view. Recommend to go for dinner to enjoy the view.
Exquisite Illume is a hidden gem tucked away in the JW Marriott bonnet creek. On the 16th (?) floor, you need to take a specific elevator to get to the restaurant. A bit of a hassle with little signage to guide guests. When you finally get there, that's when the unique experience starts. Friendly wait stop guided us to our table immediately. We got our orders promptly, it's nice to have the sushi kitchen in the middle of the dining room. The food looks like Art. Everything was presented beautifully. I posted some pictures before my party attacked the plates. We ordered a wide variety of food from sushi to a five Wagyu. This is a high-end/expensive restaurant. Hit me all of my expectations. Would definitely recommend if you want to experience an elevated Japanese menu
yummyyyyy i really liked everything except the sake flight but that might be because i don't like sake. hermes garden cocktail was DELISH though, definitely one of the better cocktails ive had i cannot recommend it enough. kamikaze roll was divineeee it's one of my top rolls of all time honestly, and the duck was cooked perfectly. whatever sauce they had in it was amazing. the bluefin tartar wasn't BAD but it tasted very... mexican versus asian? it had to be the tortilla chips they used and whatever seasoning (cajun maybe?). not sure how to explain it but it was definitely not what i was expecting but not bad. im usually not a dessert person but the miso caramel item was soooo good i cleared the entire plate. we sat outside and the view was gorgeous from all sides and you could see part of the epcot fireworks which was really cute!
We sat out at the rooftop around 7pm and the ambiance and sunset was beautiful. Staff is very nice. Food is yummy just a bit expensive. You can see disney fireworks outside as well.
This restaurant is located on the 9th floor of the hotel. Great views and a nice place to see some fireworks too. Every staff member we encountered was top notch. The spicy tubs crispy rice was delicious. The oki and gyu were good but I didn't realize that basically would be similar rolls with different top so that was a tad disappointing- but that's on me. They were both good. The kamikaze roll was actually my favorite. Oh and the yuzu dessert was like a light keylime tart but with yuzu- nice finish to our meal.
Food, atmosphere, and service were impeccable! Even the views, the fact we were able to see fireworks and have a chill night made it everything and more.
Wow. Wow. Wow. I was on a trip to Orlando to check out the new parks and rides and while the parks are fun, I was in desperate need of peace, quiet and real food. I found peace via a massage at this hotel following the massage I was starving but didn't want to find another lyft to another place. Plus, I'd read in advance about the rooftop bar. When I asked the young lady receptionist at the Spa by JW, she said the restaurant upstairs did have its regulars so I made a reservation. The earliest reservation was at opening so I had an hour to kill at the lobby restaurant/bar. When my reservation time came, I headed to their designated elevator. From beginning to end the service is welcoming and friendly. I opted for their omakase option. Everything was delicious; I apologize for not remembering all that I had but I included a picture of their omakase menu. The restaurant is beautiful and in a relaxing setting with amazing views and I got to enjoy a beautiful sunset along with and rain hitting against the window. The omakase was planned to perfection! For the main dish I had the Seared Branzino I mezcal dashi, sakura infused shoyu, charred baby heirloom tomato, crispy leeks, JW garden flower AND my goodness, I could've cried it was sooo good! It's exactly what I was craving after days at the parks with only fried foods. If I ever find myself in Orlando again, I shall this restaurant again!
It's more of 3.5 but here's why; the views, the drinks and the food are good. it's on the rooftop of the JW and overall a great experience however it's just a little bit overpriced. Other notes- you can watch the epcot and Magic Kingdom fireworks from the roof so a few time your reservation correctly you also get dinner and a show. The best drink is the one that comes in the little bird glass and it's very aesthetically pleasing. The sushi rolls are small and the Omakase is overpriced.
Illume, everything about this experience was phenomenal. Kristin was an excellent server efficient, attentive, and highly professional throughout the entire experience. She was friendly and knowledgeable, making sure everything was taken care of promptly while still making us feel welcomed and relaxed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting to enjoy the meal. The food was outstanding as well--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience made even better by Kristin's exceptional service.
After a relaxing day at the JW Spa for Mother's Day, I took myself on a little solo date up to the 9th floor to have dinner at illume. This is their Japanese rooftop bar & lounge, and I had been craving some sashimi all day. I grabbed a seat at the main bar (they also have some sushi bar seating) and their friendly staff introduced themselves, poured me some water and gave their signature rosemary nut blend of almonds & pistachios to snack on. I'm on a wellness journey, so I decided to start with their Kanazawa mocktail made with cucumber, rosemary matcha, grapefruit, and ginger. It was amazing and I would 100% order this drink again. I also ordered the spicy edamame for an appetizer which was super tasty (and a huge portion). This would be great for sharing with a group, but since it was just me, I took most of it home. I had my eyes set on the prize before I even arrived and ordered the Chef's Choice sashimi. Out came a gorgeous platter of 10 different types of fish & seafood which equated to about 18 pieces plus tamago sweet eggs. I can't remember every type but there was salmon, tuna, hamachi yellowtail, scallops, octopus, madai, otoro, chutoro fatty tuna, and more. It definitely hit the spot and cured my craving! Unfortunately, it was a rainy evening preventing the use of the outdoor space and the stunning rooftop views. I've been to illume in the past just for drinks & apps, and I highly recommend coming on a night when you can enjoy the outdoors and catch the theme park fireworks in the distance. I always love visiting illume when I'm in the Disney area!
I got the chef's choice of sashimi and an additional order of otoro. It did take a while to come out, including after everyone else in my party got their entire orders (multiple items each) since they have two kitchens; however, it was indeed very delicious and fresh. There was quite some variety in there with what appeared to be 3 kinds of tuna (including otoro), salmon, hamachi, scallop, mackerel, octopus, and another fish. It ended up being 19 pieces of fish. The ginger tasted delicious and not overpowering as well. Everyone else's orders did look and smell amazing, especially the yakisoba noodles and the drinks. The vibe and service are both great too.

Illume Rooftop in Orlando was such a beautiful dining experience! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt upscale. The rooftop views were absolutely stunning, especially with the gorgeous evening scenery and Disney fireworks in the distance. Every night at 9 PM. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, and the drinks were just as impressive. The ambiance, views, food, and overall vibe make Illume a perfect spot for a date night, celebration, or girls' night out. Definitely a place I would recommend if you're looking for great food with an unforgettable view in Orlando! read more

We had a nice meal here while on travel for work. I had a very citrus-forward and refreshing glass of sake - the Joto Yuzu. We started with the U-so-machi which was a delicious hamachi though I wasn't a huge fan of the wasabi sorbet and the Spicy tuna crispy rice was good but hard to pick up with our chopsticks. Very Nobu-esque. I had the angry tiger and the omega roll. I enjoyed both rolls, they were fresh and delicious. My colleagues had the spicy cucumber salad, the duck and some nigiri. They both seemed to enjoy their meals as well. We finished with a dessert that isn't on their current menu so I can't remember the name but it was crunchy, light and fluffy. read more
Located on the 9th floor of the JW Marriott Bonnett Creek Resort & Spa, you have to take a specific elevator to get to this spot. It has great views and supports dining for groups, singles and date night. There is outdoor seating if the weather permits. It serves as an option to view fireworks on special occasions. Shout out to Paul and Rob who were the mixologists of the evening during our visit. They were informative and had good energy. I kept it light with a drink and mochi. You can see other patrons admiring the drinks and food as they're being served. We sat at the bar but there were tables available during our visit. All the items I had were fantastic and actually encouraged me to sip slower to guess the ingredients. The menu isn't that extensive but they get it right. The decor is inviting but it is dimly lit inside. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and it wasn't overly crowded or obnoxious. Definitely recommend checking them out. read more

I visited Illume for a friend's birthday dinner and really enjoyed the experience. I wasn't expecting the rooftop vibe with an exceptional view of the theme park fireworks. illume was an excellent choice for my friend's birthday dinner! I enjoyed my meal 10/10 and my drink was strong and smooth. All the sushi is freshly made by authentic chefs right in front of you. The hostess and waitress were so nice and helpful. I will be returning and hopefully able to enjoy the Disney fireworks when the weather is clear as the view is really nice from the 9th floor. A plus, the parking is validated when you ask or after paying! read more
I love the chic and modern ambiance of Illume. I prefer sitting at the bar. The bartenders are always very friendly and they give excellent service. The cocktails are always presented beautifully. Try the Nichibotsu cocktail. The roasted pineapple in the drink is like candy to me. The outside rooftop gives great views of Disney. read more

This place was so wonderful! Make a reservation, just in case, so you don't miss out. We made a reservation about 1h before we arrived. We had amazing service (thank you Milee), the food was delicious, and the view was great. Wow!!!!!!! This was the best dining experience I've had in such a long time. This restaurant/cocktail bar is located in the JW Marriott Bonnet Creek Resort. It also has amazing views from the outside balcony area. The service was stellar! And I truly mean STELLAR! I really wish I could remember her name so I could give her a shout out. This young woman should train everyone on how to care for guests and make them feel welcome. The food was all amazing, except the miso glazed Japanese eggplant, those poor babies were soaked in oil. Eggplants are like sponges, all they need is to be brushed lightly with oil, not drowned. Don't skimp on the drinks from this place, they are delicious! In fact, order the illumination, I promise you will not regret it! read more

Let's just be honest... When it comes to JW Marriott, you know you're getting quality! This is literally one of my top 3 favorite rooftops in Orlando and this restaurant is the perfect place to grab a bite and a beautiful view. Illini is Japanese inspired so you're sure to get great sushi, incredible sake, and other great Japanese dishes. Everything I've ever ordered here has been phenomenal so feel free to try a few things. I also encourage you to sit at the bar because the bartenders are super knowledgeable and have great information on all of the different Japanese liqueurs. ENJOY! read more

Met up with coworkers who reserved the lounge for dinner to meet with clients. The Decor was very chic. The lounge was very intimate and had a large dining table with a living room setting and some extra pub tables along the sides. It sits directly behind the reception desk. The server was good actually she was great as was the manager. They asked if anyone had any food allergies, I told him that I have a Durham wheat allergy. They were sure to tell me every dish that included Durham wheat and recommended I do not eat those items. They did bring some items that did not contain Durham wheat, for me. Our whole table Shared a bunch of plates and we all ordered one sushi roll or a noodle bowl. Con- was the extremely long wait for the food, but good thing we were in good company and we all had conversations that helped bide the time. Everything was delicious and it was a great time overall. read more

Ambiance - 5 stars; beautiful setting and restaurant; the view from the rooftop bar is stunning. Service - 3 stars; mostly due to the runners who bring out the food, but our server Kristin deserves 5 stars for expertly taking all of our orders for the table of 14. Food - 3 stars; due to the hit and miss of some items as further discussed below. Drinks - 3 stars; specialty drinks are expensive and are light on the alcohol. You are paying more for the presentation. Credit card payment for a big group - 2 stars; you are allowed only 3 credit card payments per table so note that before going with a big party. Each credit card is automatically charged a 20 percent service charge even though my bill was only for three people. I gave an additional gratuity but be careful as you may "double tip" if you do not look closely at the bill. Overall, the four stars rating for the evening is mostly attributed to our outstanding server, Kristin. She handled our table of 14 boisterous individuals (birthday party celebration) with aplomb, patience and always a smile. Although she did a great job, the servers/runners who bring the food from the kitchen did not know where the food or drinks were supposed to be placed. We had several mix-ups, and the table was left to sort it out, including when some appetizers were sent down to the wrong side of the table. Illume needs a better system to identify where the food should be properly placed for a big group (especially when tacking on a required 20 percent service charge for a group of 6 or more). As for the food itself, I enjoyed the Chicken Potstickers the most. In fact, our group of 3 order it a second time. The Steak Bao Peis were ok. The bao itself was somewhat doughy and the steak in one was quite gristly. My friend loved the Oki Roll and, in fact, ordered a second one. The edamame was a big hit as everyone complimented that dish as we had several at the table. Comments from the other guests at the table said the food was good, but nothing to brag about considering the prices and the small portions. (Of course, you are in a JW hotel, so the high prices are expected.) Finally, Kristin informed us when the fireworks and the drone light display were about to start. She said we could leave our table to enjoy the light show on the rooftop patio area and then come back. Everyone agreed that was a major highlight of the evening. One last comment - the illume express elevator does not go back up after midnight. I took a friend down to her room (which requires you to change elevators). When I wanted to go back up to meet my friends at the rooftop, I found out the illume elevator only goes down after midnight. I texted my friends goodbye and I went to retrieve my car. read more

We enjoyed a rooftop dinner at illume, an Asian-inspired restaurant at the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa in the Buena Vista area. The food and cocktails were excellent--the Hamachi was top-notch and beautifully prepared. Service was quick and attentive, and our server, Emily, was amazing and very accommodating throughout the evening. As a bonus, we were able to see the Epcot fireworks while dining, which made the experience even more special. A great spot for a rooftop dinner with outstanding food, drinks, service, and views. read more

I don't even know where to start. If you want an experience MAKE THE RESERVATION! Great for a date night, or even going to the bar with some friends. The food is amazing! Highly recommend the Wagyu Sushi 10/10 also enjoyed the angry tiger and Dragons Breath rolls The pork belly Bao-Pei buns were super delicious and can't forget the sticky ribs! The Matsu-cha dessert was super light and airy. The drinks are a must! Super good and so pretty. The fire bird served in the bird glass is just amazing! It is a full bar so you can order anything. And the old fashions ... perfection And lastly... the View! I highly recommend requesting a patio table on your reservation. Things to keep in mind. It's on the pricey side but well worth it You can see the fireworks from the patio. They will validate parking And lastly it isn't your typical dining setting, tables are a little lower and smaller. read more

Located on the 9th floor of the beautiful JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek, making the trip to ILLUME is well worth it for the view alone! The outside patio area gives a great view of Disney properties and the EPCOT Spaceship Earth. I highly recommend making a reservation as the place stayed pretty full most of the night. We initially requested a table outside but due to the high wind, decided to move inside and the atmosphere was great for our small group to talk and share food. The staff was very accommodating despite have a packed list of reservations. The Lychee Martinis were a hit amongst our group and they were able to accommodate making them with vodka instead of gin. It's a beautiful floral martini, not too sweet with a lychee ice ball in the center. The menu has a lot of great shareable items such as Edamame and Shishito Peppers, both cooked perfectly. We also tired the Sticky Ribs, with tender meat that fell right off the bone and had a flavorful asian bbq sauce. For entrees we split the GYU NO KANI, a snow crab and seared tenderloin roll along with a couple veggie rolls - the Wellness and the Crispy Garden Roll. The Wellness was light and fresh while the Crispy Garden had a perfect tempura crunch. Overall, it was a great experience with tasty food and drinks but the prices were pretty steep so most likely will save this one for special occasions. Oh - and valet is complementary when you get your ticket validated at restaurant! read more
Perched atop the JW Marriott, this rooftop gem was a must visit. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated promptly and had the choice between cozy indoor seating and a charming outdoor patio. For a late-night snack, we ordered the bao buns, shishito peppers, and ikura--all of which were delicious. The shishito peppers were our favorite, and they were generous with the portion. While we had hoped to catch a glimpse of the Disney fireworks, they appeared quite distant and small from the rooftop. The customer service was great and the intimate ambiance more than made up for it. Highly recommend this spot for a romantic date night read more
This place is gorgeous they took time decorating, and it shows I loved how they have different dining areas with different views. You can feel more intimate. I love the rooftop view. You can also see the fireworks from Disney. It was beautiful service was amazing the servers know the menu like the back of their hand and know the flavor profiles. I enjoyed everything we had. We came here after my husbands company banquet to watch the fireworks and have a cocktail with some of his team and coworkers. This is a beautiful Japanese inspired restaurant decorated with the most beautiful cherry blossom detail and twinkle lighting. It's a full mood! In the absolute best way. It's located on the rooftop of JW Bonnet Creek hotel. They have an incredible rooftop patio that overlooks both Epcot and Disney Springs so there's a full view of the fireworks and drone show. We ended up ordering a little post dinner grub - we have been dying to try it and I will say it did not disappoint. The sushi roll (oki) was so flavorful and tasted super fresh. The boa buns were perfectly soft, steak was ultra tender with light pickled veggies tying it all together. If you're staying at the hotel, definitely add it to your plans to have dinner or appetizers here! Bonus: you can sit inside or outside with really cool views read more
