BBQ Pork fried rice with two egg rolls and Thai iced tea
    Keith H.

I stopped here for a quick meal before going to the movie theater across the street. I decided to keep things simple. I ordered an appetizer and some fried rice with pork. The egg rolls were OK. (This is not a Chinese place so the textures and flavors might be a little bit different than what you might expect from a traditional Chinese restaurant. This is a Vietnamese restaurant so if you wanna choose the best dishes, choose Vietnamese cuisine.) The dining area is pretty small. There are several tables that could fit a group of four or possibly put two tables together to fit a group of eight. The server was nice and helpful. I had no complaints there. The portion of my fried rice was very generous. That was a nice surprise altogether I ordered three items and it cost me about $25. That still feels expensive to me, especially when I didn't order anything fancy I had egg rolls and fried rice and a Thai iced tea. Nonetheless, at some point you start to say to yourself this food is like street food. It was never designed to be expensive like this. Why are they charging so much in this post pandemic world ? In summary, my experience was pretty good. The food was decent. I would order the rice again. I didn't really care for the eggrolls, though the Thai iced tea was good. The price was kind of high, but the portion of the fried rice was very generous. I would rate this place at about a 3.5. If they reduce the menu prices just a bit I would probably bump it up to a four, but I don't feel like I paid what that meal was worth.

Diane and I ate lunch here for the first time. I ordered Vegetarian Egg Rolls and a beef-broth-based Filet Mignon & Shrimp Pho, and she had a requested chicken-broth-based Filet Mignon & Shrimp Pho. We both liked our dishes. But the Sweet & Sour Sauce served with the Egg Rolls was not fruity or sweet enough. We received plenty of sprouts, mint, and Jalapenos to dress up and further season our large bowls of Pho, and the several strands of cooked noodles inside added to the enjoyment of them. The beef was lean and tender, and the shrimps well cooked. Service was good, except Diane's bowl first came out with onions that were requested to be kept off her Pho. Seating was at servicable but rather spartan tables and chairs. The restaurant was well lit, and it was comfortable until new arriving diners opened the entrance door, and gusts of cold wind blew inside. XXX-1/2 overall this first time around!

First timer here to pick up an order to go. Parking was limited but I managed to find a spot in a timely manner. The place itself is pretty small inside, and the counter is straight ahead once you enter. I got the filet mignon pho and some chicken wings. The pho was good but the wings were pretty bad. The flavor of the sauce for the wings was great.. but that all goes out the window when the chicken tastes dry and rubbery. On top of that.. the service was just ok. Looked like the woman in charge came to deliver my order to me. Just a "here you go" with no eye contact and when I said thank you, just silence as she walked away. A smile and some kindness goes a long way.. especially when the food is just "meh".

I ordered (2) Shrimp & Pork Spring Roll and Pho w/ Slices of Steak & Lean Meat. Daisy took my order quickly. She was very courteous and efficient. This place is quite small so it gets noisy quickly. Overall the food I ordered was tasty and delicious. The tables are kept clean as is the utensils!

Standard, good pho. Broth is a little bit on the sweeter side but it's easily balanced out by adding lime.

For a Saturday at 4:30pm, we were seated and waited on immediately. The menu was expansive and I was surprised with the amount of vegetarian options for a Chinese restaurant. Our server was helpful in suggesting various fish options and knew their wait times. Some notable dishes were the sizzling beef with black pepper, beef scallion rolls, honey walnut chicken, mapo tofu, and fried chicken. The dishes that could be improved for flavor were the vegetarian steamed dumplings, steamed whole fish, and beef chow fun. We probably ordered around 8-10 plates (all dishes came with rice) and many arrived at the same time. The prices were very reasonable for the portions and it was just enough for everyone. Since we had a birthday celebrant, they were able to put our personal cake in the fridge. Our server provided a complimentary matcha cheesecake and candle towards the end of our meal. His robot server sidekick also sang happy birthday! I did feel like they were understaffed because the lobby hostess had to find the server for me several times when I asked for our cake and the check. Overall, it's a great place for large groups and celebrations.

When we arrived, the hostess attempted to seat us at a table that would not have comfortably accommodated our group. I politely asked if we could be seated at a nearby table that had more space. In response, she rolled her eyes and let out an audible sigh, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. When we were eventually seated at the requested table, she placed the menus down abruptly and did not hand one to me directly, instead leaving it at the end of the table. The interaction came across as unnecessarily rude and, frankly, not in line with the level of service I would expect from a hostess. That said, I want to note that the rest of our experience was positive. Our server was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The food itself was also very good (I would not recommend the orange chicken though) and something I would return for. I hope management takes the opportunity to address the front-of-house experience, as first impressions matter and can significantly impact a guest's overall perception. (She was white and had unique, colorful, round glasses)

All the surrounding tables I guess is only for Ramen and non grilling food items as they dont have a grill in them. It was hectic and chaotic in here. Watching the 2 waitresses not only handling the food orders at the tables, but also making drinks, taking orders, bringing the food out, handling the front desk, to clearing the tables. Real props to them for still providing excellent customer service with each of their tables. Their food comes out fast, and they all tasted amazing. And their drinks too look visually stunning and tasted great. We ordered the following foods and drink: 1. Gyu set- comes with several meats that you cook on the fire. High quality. Great taste. Extremely tender and flavorful. 2. Short ribs- they were so good we had to get another order of them. 3. Sushi taco- 3 different types of seafood. Tasted really good, ended.up getting 2 orders of them. 4. Spicy tuna crispy wanton- lots of spicy tuna. Love the flavors. The crunch of the taco was really good. 5. Chicken karaage- crispy and tender. The sauce it came with was so good. 6. Tempura shrimp- 3 peices only. It was ok. A great appetizer to start with. 7. Spicy pork bao- bao bun was amazing. Pork was soft and tender. Good ratio of meat to bao. 8. Smoked brisket bao- not as good as the spicy pork. But was still really good. 9. Hand roll was also really good. Drinks: 1. White peach sake sangria- this drink was so light and refreshing. Definitely hit me by the time I finished it though. 2. Yuzu pineapple express- our favorite drink by far. Very pineapple forward. Sweet, tart and refreshing. 3. Tokyo tea- the midori made it look so pretty. The taste itself was very good as well. 4. Rising sun- Japanese whiskey. It was very whiskey forward, but it was also very smooth. I love how they had a little bit of everything here. Pork, chicken, raw fish, sushi, bbq, bao buns, Ramen, a whole bunch of different appetizers. Everything that we tried was really good, and put a smile of happiness on our face as we took a bite and tried them. There's a little bit of everything for everyone here. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks. It was not cheap. Every little thing added up. But we did order a lot of food and drinks. But everything was really good. Would definitely come back again!!

I tried the lean and fatty brisket pho, and was sad it had no basil…read more the cilantro was still good but I kinda wish it had both. the service was fast and they were very accomodating. each table has lots of sauce, napkins, etc. the entire restaurant is clean and pleasant to be in. had areas large enough for bigger groups maybe up to 15-20 people. there are bathrooms for customers.

The bad news is Redlands lacks a perfect Thai restaurant. I've tried'em all. AROI MAK MAK is…read moreweird, THAI HOUSE is bland, BENJARONG decent but pricey. Some locations are nice, some MEH. Redlands boils down to two key choices: MU and THAI SPOON CAFE. If it's a date night, definitely MU. There are extra touches everywhere. I recommend THAI SPOON CAFE for lunches and delivery. The location isn't the best but they have other locations that are nicer. The staff here is friendly and fast. I'm all about the Thai Boat soup while these days my vegetarian partner in crime enjoys the Drunken Noodles. We've had their food in person or delivered about three dozen times at this point and we have no reason to stop. Give it a try. It's solid.

Don't let the location fool you. The flavor speaks way louder than the storefront. The fan favorites? They actually hit. * Pad Thai - perfectly balanced, not overly soggy, not drowning in sauce. * Pad See Ew - smoky, savory, that wok flavor you're hoping for. * Drunken Noodles - intensely savory, spicy, and slightly sweet. Stir-fried with Thai basil, garlic, and chilies. The yellow curry was solid too (creamy and comforting) but just a little sweeter than I prefer. That's personal taste, not a flaw. Now here's the real mic drop: my wife isn't even a Thai food fan... and she enjoys coming here. That alone tells you everything. If you can win over someone who normally says "I'm not in the mood for Thai," you're doing something right. Moral of the story: stop sleeping on this spot. IE has some hidden gems -- this is one of them. We'll be back.
