The first time I went I got the chicken broth pho with shredded chicken, delicious, but the broth is not as fragrant as the beef, so I inquired if the beef pho was gluten free and it is not, I was violent Ill. That being said, I've been back and had the chicken pho with no issues. The place seems really clean and really does the take out business. The service depends on whether you get someone that knows what gluten free is, and someone with a good grasp with the English language helped me. It was somewhat of a sad occasion when I last returned here--this time alone--because I had very recently learned that my long-time friend, retired court commissioner, former fellow Deputy D.A., and weekly lunch companion for exactly fifty years had just passed away only a few days before. For five decades we had alternated in choosing restaurants, and this Ocean Pho was one of our staples. So, in honor of my departed friend, I chose to dine here alone, with him in mind. I opened with two Vegetarian Egg Rolls, which were okay but not as tasty as in the past. Dipped in a light Sweet & Sour Sauce, they were made more flavorful. My chosen entree of Filet Mignon Pho was the best I remembered here: well-seasoned broth featuring an excellent cut of perfectly lean Filet Mignon, Green Onions, White Onions, and well-prepared Pho Noodles. A few Jalapenos added some spice, and accompanying Bean Sprouts a nice crunch. There was an ample amount of everything: steak, noodles, and broth. For good measure, I added a few drops of Soy Sauce. Service was very good. An Iced Tea was very tasty, and I was given a complimentary refill to go. My husband and I used to eat here almost every week, either picking up or ordering in - we used to dine in at the mountain grove location as well but they started going down first. A couple of months ago we started getting flavorless soup with a greasy, thin broth and old tasting chicken. We tried 3 times waiting a bit in between and it's gotten progressively worse. The broth today was almost completely clear, had no body and just tasted vaguely sweet and greasy - no rich chicken and star anise like we used to get. The chicken is dry with a kind of shiny "skin" to it and tastes like 4 day old shredded rotisserie chicken. We dumped both orders in the trash and got a refund from door dash. Used to be a 4 or 5 star for me, not even a 1 anymore. It's also gone up about $5 in the past couple of years which would be fine if it was still as good as it used to be but it is definitely not. read more

To start we walked in and no one talked to us or noticed us or even was around for us to ask. After we did find some one they just yelled at us to sit in the back. It was quite disappointing experience. The Cornish hen was blackened with dry meat it seems like it has been cooked earlier and reheated. The red rice was greasy. The fried egg ? Ocean Pho has several locations, so tonight we enjoyed Ocean Pho #3 on Barton Road in Redlands. We started with their rolls. They had the usual Egg Roll, and a large variety of Spring Rolls. The veggies in the Egg Roll were cooked, yet were still crunchy but the flavor wasn't very pronounced. These rolls came with a sauce that had a fish base to it, very slightly sweet with a bit of heat and salt. This was a must with the egg roll. The Shredded Pork Roll was different. The pork had an odd/grainy texture. The flavor had a hint of smokiness. The stuffing was mostly lettuce. The Grilled Beef Rolls weren't very flavorful. The beef by itself was bland, and very skimpy. However, the peanut sauce was flavorful: mild yet had a hint of flowery notes: interesting. The Shrimp & Pork Spring Rolls were also bland. Also this was about the sauce. It had some flavor and a bit of heat. Our first entre was the #41 Beef Rice Porridge. I've never had this before. For a cold, wintery day this could be a Pho substitute. Its rice boiled into a creamy, very liquidly, porridge with added ingredients. It arrived very, and stayed, very hot. The added beef wasn't too flavorful, but the added strips of ginger were a nice palate pleaser. Our second entre was the #105 Pan-Fried Chow Fun Noodles with Basil and Chicken. This was good. The vegetables were cooked, yet still crunchy. The added ginger came through with a hint of tang. The noodles absorbed the flavor of the broth, were appropriately smooth and soft. Based on the flavors of the broths and sauces, we'll be back to try the Pho as the weather gets cooler. read more

I absolutely love this place their Pho is so delicious along with the other dishes they serve and their staff is so kind and amazing!! The only downside is that their soda fountain doesn't work and you will have to spend a couple of bucks for a soda can or not if you don't mind drinking their lemon water of which is quite refreshing.
