Omg! This place was a joke I couldn't believe the customer service, the pace of the food & missing orders, but they wanted to charge me everything even though I never received 3 dishes ordered. First let me say they don't write your order down everything is supposedly in their working memory, but when you get your order food is missing, and by the time you get their attention and let them know you didn't receive everything ordered then it comes at the end of the meal when your already done eating & I tell them I don't want it anymore and when I got the bill everything I ordered was on the bill, and that's when the fun starts. I told them to deduct 3 dishes I never received and they acted like they didn't understand they said "you ordered it therefore you pay for it" I said yes I ordered it, but I never got the food so why should I pay for food I didn't receive even though some of it came at the end of the meal I didn't want it anymore plus I never got all of it. Although their food quality was average, I would give this restaurant 2 stars primarily due to their poor service. The owner did not show interest in attending us properly. We had to go to the front desk whenever we needed anything, including silver wear/chopsticks, and when we asked for a to-go container the owner waived it at us, prompting us to get it ourselves. Even as we were eating we noticed that incoming customers were reminded that they were closing soon, which seemed as they were insinuating that they needed to rush their order. I ordered a banh mi for pickup, the service was great, and the sandwich tasted great but I was disappointed by the size considering it was $10. I've ordered the same thing at another location and I was full off of half of the sandwich and saved the other half for later. But this sandwich was a lot smaller and didn't have as much meat. A place that speaks deeply to me as it's namesake, Ocean Pho is great spot! The interior of Ocean Pho is clean and simple. Menu is easy to read but if you should have trouble, one of the friendly staff members will gladly help you out. Since I don't eat Vietnamese food on the regular, I often need help, but found a picture on Yelp from one of my past reviews and was able to order something similar. I ordered a vegetarian vermicelli bowl but added shrimp and tofu for protein. It was delicious! On point with the refills, I had water to drink with added lime for flavor. Just as the glass was empty, someone was right there to refill it. Considering that this place was busy and what looked as if the establishment was short staffed, they handled it. They did their job well. Located in a shopping plaza, I find this place could easily be missed if you're driving from the East. Just know, they're the first building in the plaza if you're facing the shopping plaza. read more

While I have not visited the Orange Tree Center location, this one served me lukewarm special combination pho broth that was heavily salted, and the meat toppings were stringy and chewy. The eggrolls I also ordered were the winner for this meal, as the pho was quite unappetizing. Normally, I would've gone to the other location in the Mountain Grove shopping area but being sick at the moment I didn't want to travel much further so I came to this location. Upon opening my to go order at home I was highly disappointed when I saw they had just given me 4 pieces of steak and meatballs so I had more noodles than the content. If I had just wanted mainly pho noodles or noodles I could've just made that at home. The condiments containers were also half full. I would've preferred they give me a decent amount for both. Then there was my to go bun bo hue order that was not put in a enclosed container. There was a hole on the side so much of my soup spilled out into the plastic bag. (See pic for details). They do have social distancing seating, I think. My friend and I were still able to walk in and take out food. He got a beautiful set up with shrimp cakes and more. He enjoyed his meal and had left-overs enough to have another meal. He, also, had tea and thought it tasted fresh and authentic. I had the sausage spring rolls and thought the sausage was a bit rubbery and not tender. The peanut sauce helped with the taste and textures in the dish. I, also, asked for 4 and was only given 2. I'm not too sure what I was charged for. Their buns were delicious and the meat was soft with plenty of sauce that made it wonderful. Missing the traditional Chinese flavors, this really gave me plenty to love and enjoy. I had the sausage fried rice and it was enough for two people. Everyone enjoyed it and loved the flavor. It wasn't too heavy and it wasn't overly salty. This was of the best sausage fried rice I'd ever had and it wasn't dripping with oil. Lastly, I didn't get to dig into the broccoli beef because it was PLENTY of food already. And I managed to fry it with rice to get more out of it and it was beautiful. The flavors were great! Literally writing this review from my car after walking out. One word: COCKROACHES. I get there, use the restroom, see a few dead on the floor, walk back out, get my food, glance over and see a cockroach WALKING ON THE TABLE. I let the person up front know, I think he is the manager bc he is always there, he says they just sprayed last night and then proceeded to charge me the $15 for the pho I didn't even eat because -hell no. My first time here at Ocean pho! This place is super clean and all of their staff members were so nice and welcoming. I ordered the oxtail pho($14) with a side of brisket ($4) my cousin ordered the Vietnamese crepe forgot the price my meal was good! The broth was flavorful and the meats were tender. I can only speak to the service and the pan-fried items, but based on my experience, I won't be going back. First impression upon entering was that the host was hassled to see us. The restaurant was mostly empty, with only one more table occupied. We were told to take a seat anywhere. The menu barcode on the table was covered with the table items so we didn't realize there was one until being attended to some minutes later. The menu that pulled up from the barcode was for online ordering supported by a third party vendor, so it didn't have any item descriptions. I asked the server what is included in the lunch specials on the online order menu, and he stated "it's just lettuce, there's nothing special". Okay. I exited the online menu and pulled up their website instead. Their website doesn't have a menu for the Barton location (hyperlink doesn't work), so I looked up their Mountain Grove menu and that one did have descriptions of items. We ordered #120-Panfried soft noodles with chicken. And Pad Sew Ew with beef. Both items are described as pan-fried. But both items were basically boiled meat and noodles swimming in runny sauce and steamed vegetables. There is no wok-wonder going on here. The soft noodles with chicken was especially horrendous, because the sauce was sickly sweet. It also did not taste Vietnamese cuisine as they had used Chinese white pepper in great proportion, from what I could taste. I could also tell the chicken was just boiled in water. The one star in this review is for the gentle lady from the kitchen crew serving the dishes. She placed the plateful of food on our table with love and a kind smile. read more

My friends and I were looking for a casual spot where we can grab something warm in Redlands. We decided to stop by Ocean Pho, which is now situated in the former home of Watercress Vietnamese Bistro. We were welcomed with a beautiful waterfall display at the front lobby and a host showed us our table. It was a nice gesture considering it's a casual pho spot. Ocean Pho offers the typical dishes you would find at other Vietnamese restaurants. I ordered an Oxtail Pho, since most Vietnamese restaurants in the area don't carry oxtail on their menu. My friends also ordered pho and two types of egg rolls. I thought the oxtail pho was really good. The broth was clean and not overly salty nor was it too oily. I wasn't a fan of their egg rolls but did enjoy what I came for: a bowl of hot soup. The interior is spacious and the service was nice. My only complaint would be the gentleman who was mopping the floors while we were dining. Ugh, it's such a pet peeve when I see workers cleaning while eating and the aroma of cleaning solution in the air. I appreciate the clean atmosphere but don't do it while people are dining. So gross. Two cravings drove us to dine at Ocean Pho this night. The first was the rain inviting a bowl of warm Pho in our bellies. The second was my wife getting hangry and I wanted to ensure our date night didn't fall apart! We entered and there were very few patrons there that night. On the flip side, the service was quick and we received our food very shortly after. The beef was slightly undercooked and the soup needed more lemon than we got our hands on that night. I enjoyed that were was plenty of parking and that the ambiance was quiet enough for a date night for us that day. I still need to visit more Pho places to determine if there is no good Pho around or if I just don't like soup that much. Multiple branches in the area-all about the same, however I prefer this location better as it is a larger location. PARKING: Located in a plaza and close to Stell's coffee. Plenty of parking. SERVICE: Service is good. Every once in a while, you have to flag them down for the check or for water, but it happens. SHRIMP AND PORK SPRING ROLLS: Can either get an order of 2 or 4 rolls. I typically get 2. Their peanut sauce is good. Would always get this again. PHO TAI (#15 on menu): Comes with rare steak (I usually get it cooked well done) with your pho broth and noodles. This is my go-to at pho places. Tastes exactly how I expected. Would get this again as well. OXTAIL PHO (#2 on menu): My boyfriend wanted to try this as people often rave about oxtail. He didn't enjoy it because although you get an oxtail with bone, it's actually a hassle to get the meat off the bone. Also, there's less meat overall in the broth. He'd rather stick to his usual. So it's 9:15PM. I was greeted warmly, which was great! When we took our seat, another man stepped out of the kitchen rudely saying, "WE CLOSE AT 9:50!" There's still plenty of time, and we eat our meals quickly which would've been nice. But this dude KEPT pushing that we wouldn't make it! Not to mention. He kept talking to us in a loud, inconsiderate tone. We felt unwelcome and was FORCED to take our meal to go. Even when he was taking our to-go order, he had this grimace on his face. Ugh. He did the same with the customers right behind us. The man was older, short, with darker hair, glasses. The lady with glasses the older gentleman that greeted me with white hair were accommodating and realized what this dude was doing, but a little too late. The lady inside the kitchen starts to yell at the rude man which sets him off. He came out, and started to interrogate the customers that arrived behind me, "YOU WANTED TO-GO RIGHT?" Eventually, the dude got butt hurt, saw him push open the front door unnecessarily hard to leave the store. The lady was very apologetic, and my heart went out for her. Even after he left, he had one last act for me; he mixed my order of egg rolls for spring rolls, something i only realized after i arrived home. Talk about kicking someone while they're already down. It takes one individual to ruin the entire dining experience and that is what unfortunately killed it for us this evening. I did not enjoy the lukewarm pho that I ordered to go. Ocean Pho is always one of my go-to Pho restaurants. Their broth is consistently tasty. They have tons of options for your Pho needs. They also have a great menu which includes vermicelli, spring rolls and their tasty Vietnamese Crepe (Bahn Xeo). Again, I cannot stress their consistency at this restaurant, I know what to expect every time I order a meal here. Their staff is friendly and always willing to help with menu suggestions. Parking can get a bit limited based upon sharing the parking lot with several other businesses. They can accomodate small or large groups. read more

Ordered bun bo hue, and it was the worst decision. No pork hock, no pigs blood, and too salty. I got bean sprouts instead of shredded cabbage (I would prefer banana blossom but I know some places don't have that). It seems like Ocean Pho has started cheaping out since they've opened more stores. I liked how this place is generous with their portions and full of vegetables. The broth was subtle but delicious in taste. However I was kind of bothered by how the workers and chefs were not wearing masks. When our group asked if they usually wear masks, the guy said he wears it or takes it off depending on whether the majority of the customers wear it or not. The food is the same, immediately as the dishes came out I knew they were traditional and full of flavors from spices that aren't as common in most Vietnamese restaurants in the area. We ordered a Tofu dish, which strangely enough we figured out was not full of tofu but some very vegetarian hotdogs commonly used by the Loma Linda crowds. Rubbery and flavorless for us; everything else about the fish was deliciously prepared. Decided to order some Beef Pho yesterday for a pick up time around 8:00 p.m. I ordered the Pho with steak, two shrimp and pork spring roles as well as a coconut smoothie with no boba.
