Let me start by saying we used to LOVE Ocean Pho on Barton, but the last two times have been mediocre. Considering the current situation, we gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept ordering from them, but tonight changed that. Ordered pan-fried egg noodles, chicken fried rice & vegetarian egg rolls. The pan fried noodles are DRIPPING in oil; way too greasy. They just taste like 5 spice and oil. The chicken fried rice is burnt. I wish I was exaggerating when I say that it tastes like a cigarette ash tray. Lastly, I am 99.9% sure my vegetarian egg rolls are not vegetarian. We spent $50 and most of our food is going in the trash can. I'm really sorry to say we won't be returning to our previously favorite vietnamese joint. read more

Pretty extensive menu here but usually order the same things. Their pho is decent, but I would say I prefer Pho Ho (although that's a lot farther from me and more ghetto so sometimes I order it at Ocean Pho). What is really delicious though is the cornish hen with fried egg and red rice - the bird is cooked perfectly with a nicely crusted glaze on top. The chicken wings are also quite good here. So this has been my go to since they opened. However, tonight has me looking for a new place to patron. My Chinese sausage fried rice was delivered to another table, no biggie, right? WRONG! The family had served some to their child and the young man that runs the register picked up the plate and brought it to my table without hesitation. When I asked what happened to the plate (bcs it was CLEARLY eaten from), he responded with, "the baby ate some, I can make you another if you like." UMMM, YEAH, I LIKE!!!" That's not my baby and I don't know them! That's just disgusting and horribly inappropriate for a restaurant to do. I shouldn't have to be the one to request a fresh uneaten order. I like this ocean pho over the local ones! Their outdoor seating was full, so they busted out a fresh table and set it up outside for us (outdoor dining only). I wouldn't say it's the greatest pho I ever had but it's definitely not the worst. I ordered the beef combo and I was a little surprised by the color of the broth. It just seemed a little too dark to be pure beef broth so if I had to guess, maybe there was a little soy sauce or something added in. I also ordered the pork and shrimp spring rolls which were a delight. The only thing I would change is maybe pick a different sauce? The flavor of the sauce was fine but the texture was too watery. Overall the restaurant is very clean and the staff is polite. If I had one critique is that I wish that you offered bigger sizes for your pho dishes. Price wise, I would say it's pretty fair and about what I would expect to pay at a pho spot. It's one of those spots where you wouldn't necessarily think of at first but If you live in the area and didn't want to drive to far for pho then I'd come here. read more

When my wife and I are craving pho but are too lazy to drive to our favorite pho spot, we stop by Ocean Pho. It is located right in our neighborhood and will make do until we really want good quality pho. To start, Ocean Pho has a vast menu ranging from Vietnamese to Chinese to Thai food. The menu definitely can be overwhelming with over five pages in length. We are not too sure if they are specializing in different Asian cuisines or whether they are just trying to diversify the Inland Empire with Asian food. My wife and I have been here several times, not because of the quality of the food nor the great service, but what draws us back are their smoothies. Although the smoothies are not made from real fruit, the taste and thickness of the smoothie itself is good enough to make one keep taking sips. For a typical order, I normally go for the pho myself whenever I eat here which is consistently satisfactory--the broth obviously isn't made from scratch but it does the job. My wife on the other hand likes to venture out sometimes and try other menu items. For instance, one time she tried the seafood chow mein noodles because she wanted Chinese food. Most of her plate was covered in vegetables and was lacking in seafood; if it wasn't stated on the menu that it was seafood, we would mistake this dish for a vegetable chow mein. Although there are better pho options out there, Ocean Pho is not a bad substitute when lazy. read more

Walked in, and there's at least three people at the counter who haven't even gotten their food and it's been an hour. People who called in togo finally waiting for over 40 min canceled their order and walked out furious. About 20 minutes later we are seated and the people next to us who've been seated even before we got here still haven't gotten their food. We wait another 15 minutes and we still haven't been served water and the people next to us have now waited over an hour for food that takes less than 10-15 min to make. We had to remind the servers at least three times just to get our waters. Finally got our waters 40 minutes after being seated. I then ask if our order will be out soon and the guy at the front says our order isn't even in the system! Not sure about the food, but the service needs a lot of work. **follow-up: so the table next to us never got their food and ours comes out and they leave. I'd be frustrated if I were them! Never even one single "sorry" to any of the guests who left or got their food late. LOL read more

They took over the previous Vietnamese restaurant and they re-designed everything. I was very excited when I learned that ocean pho is going to get opened in this location because the best food is in walkable distance from my apartment. This is their second location in Redlands and it is much spacious and well designed than the first one. Their menu is still the same, so many options. Me and my friends tried the pho coconut shrimp , boba and spring rolls. Didn't get disappointed. They were all fantastic. Love their service. Love their swiftness in getting the food to the table. Love their menu. Love the new setup and love the prices! Everything's great. I hope they do continue to serve and maintain the same standards through out. Overall the staff was nice, the restaurant was clean and the food was hot and delicious. I had the beef pho with steak, flank and fatty brisket. It was really amazing. Also had the stir fried filet mignon with onions. It was so tender and juicy I couldn't believe it. Also had the shrimp and pork spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce. They were so good that we ordered a second helping. Lastly, the matcha green tea shake was out of this world. Loved it. I'm really into green tea and the milkshake didn't disappoint. The rice plate was good, but the noodles and curry were bland. But we decided to give them another chance and the second time around we ordered the pad see ew again with pad thai and some fried rice. We were even more underwhelmed with that order. The fried rice was ok, the pad see ew even more bland than before and I don't even know what to say about the pad thai, all I know is that I've never had pad thai that tasted like ketchup. I'm not sure how a restaurant could overcook oxtail, given that it's so easy to cook - but this place did it somehow. The broth is tasty and flavorful but the oxtail in the oxtail soup is the main dish. It was rubbery and hard to scrape off the bone, I just couldn't enjoy it at all. If you're in the mood for pho and this was the last place open, it's acceptable. If I had a choice, I'd go anywhere else. But please, for everyone's sake - stay away from the oxtail pho. read more

I will not be returning to this Ocean Pho. The waitress wiped her face/nose twice and didnt wash her hands. The tv was playing rats being eaten in a jungle on some travel channel, along with butchering all kinds of animals, not very appetizing. The grilled chicken salad had boiled chicken and was bland as water. The crepe had so much oil my stomach hurt for the remainder of the day. It was stuffed with about a pound of bean sprouts, making the crepe almost inedible. There were a couple shrimp inside but small and bland as water as well. The egg rolls tasted terrible and were greasy as hell. I will never go back to this location ever. read more
